The cold water of the shower hitting Baekhyun's skin felt like heaven in this heat. This year the summer is just too hot. The temperature is higher than usual. Baekhyun was feeling like dying in his room because of the heat. So he decided to take another shower. Jian will not return from the academy before half an hour and grandma is at the neighbors house. So it was the perfect time to take the second shower for the day!

Baekhyun feels so relaxed right now. For him days are passing by well.

Baekhyun and Jian still fight, bicker, annoy each other, try to get on each other's nerves but looks like Jian is coming to peace with Baekhyun living with them. Jian hasn't also told anyone about his secret or tried to blackmail him, so everything seems to be going good.

The only problem is Baekhyun still hasn't been able to figure out what kind of person she actually is, he can't read her like he can easily read other people, it's driving him crazy. But Baekhyun is also liking how things are going right now, Jian's grandma treats him like a part of the family and it's the first time in Baekhyun's life when he is getting affection this way. This form affection is just so pure and amazing, Baekhyun is so grateful that he is experiencing that.

The shower felt so peaceful and it was such a peaceful day...until it wasn't peaceful anymore.

Even in the shower Baekhyun could hear someone press the password at the front door, followed by a sound of the door opening.

"Is Jian back already?"Baekhyun wondered. He expected to hear Jian's voice saying,'I'm home."

But that is definitely not what he heard. He heard a male voice shout on top of his lungs,"I'm back peeps!!"

Baekhyun frowned. What? Who is he? Were they expecting guests? And why would someone know the pin to the house?

Before he could think more he heard the guy shout again,"Where are y'all?"

Baekhyun quickly got out of the shower. He didn't dry himself with a towel properly and put on clothes and rushed out of the shower to see who came inside their house.

Baekhyun heard a few rustling sounds in the kitchen. So he followed the sound and went there and saw a boy, whom he has never seen before going through their refrigerator as if it's his own.

Who the hell is he??

"Excuse me?"Baekhyun asked making the boy turn towards him.

The boy looked at him for a moment from head to toe, smirked and after fixating his eyes on Baekhyun's wet T-shirt that was now sticking to his abs and said,

"SeXy!"

What the actual fuck?

Baekhyun was beyond confused now. Who is this and why is he so weird?

The guy then closed the refrigerator and walked towards him,"You must be the roommate. You don't look as bad as Jian told me."

Baekhyun frowned. What kind of impression did Jian give of him to this guy? And how does she know him?

The guy circled around Baekhyun while eating one of Jian's chocolate bars and said,"Jiannie isn't giving you a hard time, is she?"

"Excuse me but who are yo.."

Before Baekhyun could finish his sentence they both heard the door pin being pressed at the front door and Jian entering the house soon after.

"I'm home,"As soon as she said that the unknown guy shouted,"Jian-ah!!"and ran towards her to engulf her in a tight hug,"I'm back and I missed you so much!!"

Baekhyun stood there wondering who this guy is.

"Get off me,"Jian said and pushed him away before entering the living room. She didn't look a least bit shocked to see that guy in their house, that means this guy coming in the house without permission is a normal occurrence.

He followed her,"Hey, are you still angry that I helped grandma put that ad on Craigslist? But look at the bright side your roommate doesn't even seem that bad.."

"Shut up,"Jian said and looked at Baekhyun.

"Who is he?"Baekhyun mouthed at her.

"Just a burden to the society,"Jian replied and went into the washroom to wash up.

Baekhyun was so confused about the whole situation. He looked at the guy who was pouting because he was hurt by Jian's words. When he caught Baekhyun staring at him he smiled ear to ear and walked towards him.

"I forgot to introduce myself!"He said and did a little salute with his hand,"Because of me you're staying here, I put that ad on Craigslist. And also I'm Jian's best friend. The one and the only..."

He gave himself a short drumroll and stared at Baekhyun till he also joined in and gave him a drumroll and then finally said,"Na Jaemin!"

Baekhyun couldn't believe that. As far as he saw Jian doesn't like loud people. Then how is this guy her best friend. He has so many questions right now.

"I was in Jeju island for three weeks that's why you didn't see me, but now that I'm here you'd be seeing me more often, so get used to it!"Jaemin said.

Get used to...him?? He doesn't seem like someone anyone could get used to.

After Jian came out after changing she looked at Jaemin and said,"Go to your girlfriend, I'm busy."

"Well, I tried to. I planned to come here during dinner for free food after hanging out with her,"Jaemin said,"But she wasn't home. So.."

Jian rolled her eyes.

"Come on Jian-ah, your amazing best friend is back after so long, you cannot give me the cold shoulder anymore,"Jaemin said and again jumped at her and pulled her in a tight hug. The hug looked so tight, Jian was trying her best to get out of it while he was talking to her in a weird baby voice about how much he missed her and what not. Jian eventually gave up and sighed,"Fine now let me go."

Jaemin smiled in victory, left her and said in his baby voice,"Success! Now come, I need to tell you so many stories!"

Jian rolled her eyes. But they eventually sat down on the couch and Jaemin was telling her stories from his vacation with high enthusiasm. Jian didn't really look that amused but listened to him anyway. Baekhyun was shocked that she didn't shut him up or get up in the middle of the stories.

Baekhyun was studying both of them from the corner. They are so different from each other. How are they best friends?

At one point Jian got up to get both of them juice and snacks and went into the kitchen. Baekhyun took that as an opportunity and went into the kitchen where Jian was pouring juice in glasses,"Hey Jian, is that guy really your best.."

"Seems weird huh?"

Baekhyun nodded,"I thought you hated.."

"You're right,"Jian turned to him,"I didn't agree to this. He self proclaimed himself as my best friend and I went along with it because arguing with him is useless and it never gets anywhere."

That seems about right.

Jian continued,"You should get used to him, he's almost always at our house. He is the son of one of my father's  really old friends. My grandma and his family are in really good terms, grandma loves him. As soon as I came to Korea my grandma introduced me to him, made me enroll into the same school as him, grandma thought his outgoing personality would be good for me.."Jian sighed,"Anyways..that's how we became friends. He is literally my only friend and he is more annoying than having a huge group of friends."

Baekhyun nodded, understanding.

"Oh wait, nowadays he won't be that much around. He would be with Minhee most of time..so don't worry.."

Baekhyun frowned. Minhee? That girl from next door that tries to flirt with him every chance she gets?

"Why with her?" Baekhyun asked, confused.

"They're in a relationship,"Jian said and sighed.

"What? But she.."

"I know. But Jaemin simply doesn't understand when I try to warn him. So I stopped,"Jian said and took the tray to go to Jaemin.

"Jian-ah? Is everything and everyone around you has to be so weird?" Baekhyun asked.

Jian shrugged,"I guess. Now I have to go and listen to Jaemin blabber about how his brother broke his ass while moving a dresser in Jeju."

Baekhyun just chuckled at her words and she went to Jaemin. Baekhyun also followed her, took his phone that he forgot on the tea table of the and went upstairs to his room.

He called up Taehyung. These days Taehyung has been giving him lessons on video games. Baekhyun wanted to learn them to see why Jian wastes so much time on them. Now that he is playing them, he is starting to enjoy video games a lot. His plan is to play with Jian one day and defeat her to see her reaction. That'd teach her a good lesson for calling him boomer all the time.

Today on call Baekhyun told Taehyung about this Jaemin guy and how eccentric he is and how he never expected Jian to be friends with someone so loud.

"Taehyung-ah, Jian is getting more and more unpredictable by the time passes. This is driving me insane."

Taehyung complained on the other line,"Hyung, you always keep talking about her, making me interested to meet her. So when can I meet her?"

Baekhyun chuckled at Taehyung's whiny voice,"Come on, you know you can't meet her."

"This is unfair, hyung!"

Baekhyun chuckled again,"Let's talk about this later. Tell me how's everything over there?"

"Oh hyung. I might have some news. Yunho hyung is planning on giving you a new mission.."

"But I can't go into Seoul now and going abroad would be.."

"This mission is probably going to be in Gyoyan or close-ish. I would let you know when I get to know more!"

"Okay,"Baekhyun said.

A news of getting a new mission excited Baekhyun. He misses that adrenaline rush already. He can't wait to get back to his missions.

Not long after the phone call ended, Jian's grandma came back home. Baekhyun also came down from his room. Grandma's reunion with Jaemin was heartwarming, just as if a grandma was greeting her grandson. Baekhyun could tell how much grandma loved Jaemin. Soon after that grandma went to cook dinner for them even though everyone protested saying that her health might get worse but she didn't pay heed to anyone, determined to feed Jaemin her home cooked dinner full of love.

Grandma called Jian in the kitchen to help her with dinner. That left Baekhyun and Jaemin in the living room and Jaemin studying him from top to bottom again. That made Baekhyun a bit uncomfortable. Baekhyun wanted to break this uncomfortable silence and crack a few jokes to lighten the atmosphere and even get along with Jaemin like he gets along with everyone. Baekhyun was confident that he could get along with Jaemin. But as soon as he opened his mouth to say something Jaemin shut him up.

"Hyung, I need your help."

Well..it's certainly not weird for him to ask the person he met for the first time for help.

Okay.

Baekhyun forced a smiled,"Of course. With what?"

"It's about Jian."

Now I'm intrigued.

"Yes, what about her?"

"Can you keep an eye on her for me?"

Excuse me? WHAT?

Baekhyun frowned,"Keep an eye on her?"

"Yes hyung, it might sound weird," Hell yes it does, "But this is important. Ugh. I don't know how to explain this to you..but she needs to kept an eye on and there's no one else I can ask.."

Jaemin closed his eyes. His voice sounded genuinely worried. His childish behavior was nowhere to be seen. He seemed serious. He really wants Baekhyun to keep Jian on surveillance.

But why?

Baekhyun gets that Jian is different but there's no need for Jaemin to ask Baekhyun for this.

Jaemin opened his mouth. Baekhyun was really interested to hear what Jaemin has to say.

"You see..the rainy season is coming..and I'm worried she might do something to h.."

Baekhyun was confused. He didn't understand anything. What does rainy season have to with anything? But before anyone could explain any further the door bell rang.

Baekhyun got up,"I'll get it."

Then he went to the door and opened it while still thinking what Jaemin was trying to say. But when he opened the door, he couldn't think any further. He wanted to close the door shut on the person's face but there was nothing he could do. He fake smile and greeted the guest,"Oh hey, Minhee."

Jaemin's ears perked up at the mention of his girlfriend's name.

Minhee, blissfully unaware of the presence of her boyfriend in the house exclaimed in her loud high pitched voice,"Oppa!! I bought some cupcakes today! I wanted to share them with you!!Here!" Minhee then handed Baekhyun the box of cupcakes she brought. Baekhyun thanked her and wanted to close the door but that's when Jaemin jumped from behind him and greeted her happily.

The color of Minhee's face changed to pale white,"Jaemin-ah, you were about to come back today? How could I forget that? Silly me!"

Jaemin smiled,"Oh that's completely fine! I went to your house earlier.."

"Oh, Min, I was out with friends.."Minhee clearly looked like something else was up.

"Oh it's okay, why don't you come in and join us for dinner? I'm sure grandma won't mind!"Jaemin said.

Baekhyun widened his eyes. If she joins them for dinner, it wouldn't be any short to hell. He tried to signal with his eyes to Jaemin to stop but either he didn't understand or didn't care.

"Can I?"Minhee looked at Baekhyun enthusiastically but before he answered she said,"I would love to!!"

Baekhyun took a deep breath. Here goes his night.

Jaemin pulled Minhee inside and took her inside the kitchen to greet grandma. Baekhyun shook his head in disappointment while closing the front door.

Jaemin must really be blindly in love.

Looks like someone else hated Minhee's appearance as much as Baekhyun. And that was none other than Jian. She kept a polite expression on but Baekhyun saw her secret glares and her cringing with her whole body when Minhee and Jaemin acted all lovey dovey.

Jian whispered to Baekhyun during dinner,"I hate her."

Baekhyun nodded. For the first time in his life, he and Jian are on the same page about something.

"Me too,"Baekhyun said.

Jian slowly offered her fist towards him for a little fist bump and Baekhyun did it.

Looks like they are really starting to grow closer.

At night Baekhyun was laying on his bed and thinking about what Jaemin was saying about Jian. He seemed really serious.

Only if Minhee hadn't interrupted them!

That's when Baekhyun's phone buzzed.

From: unknown.

Hyung. It's me Jaemin. Save my number.

Sent: 12.04 am.

From:Baekhyun

Where did you get my number? From Jian?

Sent:12.04am

From: Unknown

Yes. Anyways hyung. I need your help.

Sent: 12.05am

From: Unknown

I was serious about what I said today. Let's meet someday alone. I will schedule a time! Till then please do me the favor!

Sent: 12.05 am

From: Baekhyun

Okay..ig..it better not be bull crap

Sent: 12.05 am

Baekhyun then turned his phone off.

That night Baekhyun fell asleep thinking about everything Jaemin said and trying to come up with an answer.

He feel asleep before he could come up with an answer.
