we start off with a party and im just thinking about how cool it'd be if humans just came sneaking in and saw the crazy stunts the vamps and wolves do to dive in the pool and the awesome spells the witches would cast

like ik they have certain defensive shields to make sure humans cant enter but they just had a bunch of deputy's and the sheriff around so im sure they had to lower it, imagine if they just forgot to bring it ip again due to the party, that'd be so cool, I keep talking about bringing in more human drama because that's what we expected when we first saw the trailer for this show,

go watch it again and tell me you completely expected a plot where legendary creatures were real and eaten by a magical mud man and that's why no one remembers them

oh so they dont remember Hope?

"Vampires can't have babies." Lizzie, you're mom is a legit vampire, there are ways for this, i hate that she was the one to deliver the line, it woulda made more sense if Kaleb said it, smh

also, i hate how we got so little of this 'who's Hope again?' thing bcuz honestly it could shed more light on her being a tribrid which we've barely gotten and im still pissed at

i liked the shots of the school during Alaric's voiceover i mean we barely get to see the outside of it so that was fun, but it was Alaric's voiceover so eh

Alaric, you're supposed to knock before you enter a teenagers bedroom, especially one who isn't your kid

Josie going to Mystic Falls High is very new i like it, also honey nothing is wrong with that outfit, it's just very private school chic, you need to get some more casual clothes honey

im also glad we get more kitchen shots

ok wait the new sheriff is gone, so what her kids are too? didn't the actors just became mains?? what??

so what exactly was the point of her and Alaric? like?? we wasted valuable screen time on shots with them that we didn't even want and now they just decided to kick her out? you know what? idc, this is one step farther into getting rid of Alaric too

i dont know how i feel about this for Hope, like saving Landon again, and not because i don't like Landon because he's actually a funny character but in the right moments and i would've preferred him as just another character and student, like the musical episode? everything he did except using a private letter from Klaus to his daughter as lyrics was very entertaining and i loved the actors performance

i just really hate the constant saving of Landon, killing him off, bringing him back, and then the circle keeps going, it's very wasteful

i think Landon's trying to beat Alaric for most deaths in the TVD universe cuz i meannnnn

it's like Julie Plague just wants to constantly put Hope through emotional trauma, i mean do you just hate this character or ran out of ideas?

i just read the description for this episode and its a 'twisted game set in a summer camp slasher flick' so this is another theme episode? really?

(we're not even going to address the fact that Ethan's family moved away and he's just going to stick around? like who the hell is he living with? this is a public school, his mom was single as far as we know since she went out with Alaric and she was living off a small towns sheriff salary, plus he needs a football scholarship for college, in other words, I doubt they can afford it plus it makes no sense)

also what the hell is Ethan doing in this slasher movie, like he and Hope spent like little to twenty minutes talking with each other if all of his scenes were put together

so is this episode just about Hope dealing with finally facing her grief at losing Landon and then at the last second we see Landon and he's in trouble or trapped somewhere?? is that it, cuz I'm placing my bets now

we both know he liked what he saw

but seriously? Jed and Alyssa? i mean props to Alyssa, keeping the Katherine style alive and well

though i sincerely hate how Alyssa and MG didn't even last half an episode, wow, what a waste, what was the point of that? like was it just to see Lizzie sad? was that it? does Julie Plague even care about these characters? wow

also Jed? im disappointed in you, you know you're meant to be with Kaleb come on

i like how Hope got pissed, used her magic to push Alaric away, and then just dropped him when she saw he got the artifact, this is a total Klaus move, i keep seeing those parallels to her and her dad and i really like it

i do love Kaleb and MG spending time together, brothers always & forever

and the magical artifact thing did nothing, again what a waste

ngl, when she threw it in the water i started thinking like 10% something was gonna happen

then it just got sad with her standing there, then she said 'im never going to see him again' and i got 20% more suspicious that something was gonna happen

then the camera panned down and i jumped to 50%

then it was underwater and box was glowing so now i'm at 100%

then we get Landon, walking in darkness, Mikaelson necklace in hand, he opens a bright glowing door, and that door better have been the way to peace because after this girl just went through the trauma of losing him again for the fourth fucking time he best stay dead

for those of you wanting to know the times that Hope believed he was dead:
- when MG killed him
- when Raf stabbed him with that golden arrow
- when the dragon incinerated him and he wasn't a phoenix anymore
- when he fucking exploded into goop

other thoughts:
im glad Lizzie had growth in this episode, it's always nice to see, but then I'm reminded that the whole genie episode happened and I'm always wary of her and how she's doing

im glad Josie did something for herself, more growth too because honestly these two were horribly codependent and I'm blaming the parents,
for one thing, we don't even know how long Caroline was gone and in the mean time Ric's obviously doing a fantastic job raising twin witches as a human with a huge bias where he thinks the world needs more protection from them than the other way around

im glad Kaleb and MG and still going strong with that brotherly bond

and sooner or later ill be glad when Hope gets another damn love interest and we can retire from Landon and Maliwhore

spread the word about Maliwhore's new name please

on the other hand, the word 'hero' was never uttered in this episode

let's hope it stays that way
