ten woke up in the middle of the night because of an undetermined noise.

he had always had a light sleep, and a little noise could wake him up even if he hadn't slept for days.

ten listened to the sound that has woken him up at an ungodly hour, trying to understand what it could be.

it sounded high-pitched and squeaky, almost like a dog crying.

"oh my god, yuta!" ten exclaimed remembering the events of the day before. him and taeyong had adopted a lion hybrid. and this poor baby was surely crying is ass out at the moment. that was the undetermined noise that had woken him up.

ten rose to his feet, walking to the door of his room before opening it, finding yuta sitting in the middle of the corridor, exactly between his and taeyong's bedroom doors, crying.

"yuta baby..." ten whispered, crouching slowly not to scare the hybrid. "stop crying, i'm here."

yuta didn't hesitate to run into ten's arms, sniffling into his chest while ten stayed shocked at what was happening. yuta had ran to him. yuta was crying in his arms. yuta had understood he would be his caregiver.

"calm down..." ten whispered, caressing the lion's back slowly.

he continued whispering the hybrid soothing words and caressing him until he had calmed down and stopped crying.

then, ten picked the lion cub up, letting the lion cuddle into his arms.

"let's go to bed now." ten declared, walking towards the living room where a basket had been installed for yuta to sleep on.

ten set the hybrid on the basket, caressing his head again. "sleep tight baby." ten said, ready to go back to sleep.

ten turned around, stepping towards his room, but stopping immediately because of yuta's whining.

"what is it baby?" ten asked again, crouching next to the hybrid. "you need to sleep..."

the hybrid stayed seated in his basket, his two eyes wide open as he stared at ten.

the human yawned before patting the lion's head.

"come on, lay down. it's time to sleep."

the lion cub obliged, and so, ten rose to his feet again, walking towards his room.

he turned around one last time to make sure yuta was still in the basket, but he found it empty.

yuta was sitting next to his leg, looking at ten with big glossy eyes.

"you don't want to sleep alone, do you?" ten raised a brow.

the human let out a sigh, picking the lion cub up with ease.

"okay, i'll allow you to sleep in my room tonight, but that's because i really want to sleep at the moment."

ten walked towards his room with the hybrid in his arms and he put him on the bed. ten laid down himself, cuddling into his pillow before yawning.

"goodnight baby yuta." he said. "please sleep."

and then, ten's eyes closed on their own, and soon, he was off to dreamland.

yuta stared at ten's sleeping face before hopping onto his chest and lying down there.

after twelve seconds of watching his new master sleeping, yuta fell asleep as well, cuddling into ten's chest, feeling as if he was in heaven.

"ten! yuta has- "

taeyong stopped mid-sentence when he opened the door of ten's room in a hurry because of the sudden disappearance of their hybrid. in fact, their hybrid hadn't disappeared. he was just sleeping on ten's chest, as if it was the comfiest place ever.

"...disappeared."

"huh?" ten asked, opening an eye to look at his best friend.

"i thought yuta had disappeared." taeyong repeated, stepping inside the room.

"he had trouble sleeping yesterday. i found him crying in front of the door in the middle of the night."ten explained. "and then he didn't want to go to sleep in his basket."

"so, you slept with him." taeyong continued, sitting on the end of the bed.

"more like he slept with me." ten chuckled, caressing the lion's head.

yuta stretched and yawned cutely, keeping his eyes closed.

"rise and shine baby." ten whispered.

the lion cup opened his eyes slowly, seeing ten's smiling face.

yuta purred, snuggling into ten's neck as the human caressed his back.

"i see you two got closer." taeyong smiled at the sight, being slightly jealous that ten was receiving more attention than he was. but who could he blame? ten was a masterpiece.

ten patted the lion's back.

"yuta, baby? look who's over there?"

the lion cub looked at the direction ten was pointing at and approached taeyong.

the human smiled brightly, happy to receive a bit of attention, and caressed the lion's soft fur. the hybrid snuggled against taeyong's stomach, purring loudly to show he was loving the attention he received from the two humans.

"breakfast?" ten asked, taking a mental picture of yuta cuddling into taeyong.

"yep." taeyong smiled. "what about yuta baby? does he want breakfast?"

the lion continued snuggling against taeyong, earning a chuckle from him.

"let's go." taeyong declared, picking the lion cub up and hugging him tight as ten followed them to the kitchen.

"what a beautiful sight to wake up to..." ten smiled, looking at the boy he loved hugging their hybrid.
