Run
Sebastian is now driving and I'm just sitting there, watching him.
I just realized...Sebastian is becoming a bigger threat. He clearly could care less if I was dead or not. Sebastian glares at me.
"You fucked up." He says.
"I got the insulin and some painkillers, I couldn't stop myself from getting grabbed."
"Still, in some way you were plotting to kill me." He chuckles.
"What? No-"
"You're always full of shit." He says, accelerating the car, causing me to jerk forward.
"Wait 'till this world beats you down, day by day." He growls. I stare at him coldly as he kept throwing insults at me.
"It's gonna tear your ass a new one."
"That's if...it hasn't already." He says chuckling.
"Little bitch...thinking you're too good, like your shit don't stink."
Just because I'm younger and more mature than you doesn't mean I think of myself as a higher person.
We're all equal.
Like Avery used to say...we're in the same world, with the same demons...but with different devils.
And that karma isn't something to be fucked with.
"Truth is Aurei...you don't have what it takes."
"You may be smart...and sneaky....but that won't be enough."
He's wrong.
There may be someone stronger, there always is someone stronger...no matter what.
But I will make it.
I made it this far didn't I?
Soon as we made it back, Sebastian grabs my arm and he forces me into the cabin, he slams me onto the ground.
"I haven't forgot about that incident." He says wryly. Pain erupted all in my forehead. He grabs my hair, forcing me to stand up.
I see red.
I stand up and blindly make a punch at him, he blocks it and punches me in the stomach.
It felt like a knee that had knocked the wind out of me. I gasp out for air as I fall down to the floor.
"Get up bitch!" He yells.
Then I get that feeling.
I need my inhaler.
I start wheezing, it felt like a plastic bag being tied around my head, I crawl, trying to find my breath.
"The fuck is wrong with you?"
"M....y...." I gasp out, he knits his eyebrows.
"Need....air...." I gasp out. He grins at me and kneels.
"Too bad." He chuckles. I wheeze louder.
"This just proves that you're just weak regardless....you think you're tough shit don't you?"
He grabs my face, spitting on my cheek before walking off, leaving me gasping and wheezing.
My vision starts to grow blurry, my throat begun to close up. I feel like someone is putting a plastic bag over my head.
I could hear the door open.
"Aurei!" I hear Bre scream out. I could see her figure getting closer and someone run behind her, grabbing her as she kicked and cursed.
My eyes rolled to the back of my head.
Then everything goes black.
"Happy birthday to you."
"Happy birthday to you."
"Happy birthday dear Avery, happy birthday to you!" I sing along with mom, Avery blows the candles.
"You're becoming more of a woman everyday." Mom says, tucking Avery's hair behind her ear.
Avery doesn't speak, she just stands up and fakes a smile. She walks over to me.
"I'm finally nineteen." Avery grins. Mom gives a small grin then her face goes back to being the usual depressing face she would make.
"I'm grateful for the cake mama." Avery says, Mom just wipes the tears from her eyes then she walks off.
"You should go to bed."
"I haven't even done my homework yet." I said suspiciously, crossing my arms.
Avery looks down sadly. She wore a yellow floral dress and had her old bracelet I gave her. She smelled like sunflowers.
"You're thinking about him again." I said.
"Avery, dad would want you to enjoy your birthday, he would want you to keep living." I said.
"Just....go upstairs, have to take care of mom." She says. I nod and walk halfway upstairs.
Minutes later, I hear light crying. Avery rarely cries. She would bust her knee wide open and she wouldn't shed a tear.
I slowly walk downstairs, past the living room and into the kitchen. Avery had a bottle of liquor in her hand, she had running mascara and she kept chugging.
I just froze as she chuckles to herself.
"Happy." She says before taking another sip of liquor.
"Birthday." She said emotionlessly before taking another swig.
"To." Another swig.
"Me." And another.
She sinks against the wall, crying and drinking the rest of her liquor. Avery was never happy on her birthdays. Never.
Neither was I.
Avery had suffered from heavy depression just like mom, it was hard getting her out of bed, getting them both to eat...to try and be happy.
"Fuck this stupid ass fucked up world." Avery chuckles.
"You're doing this again?" I snap, she looks up, tilting her head and smiling.
I had to swallow my anger and put my feelings aside because I know that my family needed me.
I forced Avery to stand up.
"Happy birthday to me...." She says before sobbing, Avery topples over me as I led her up the stairs.
Now that Avery is taken care of, mom is next.
--
I open my eyes, gasping for air, I look around to see the same faded quilt I'm laying on, the broken lamp next to me and the mirror that reflected every movement.
Then I realize....Bre isn't in here.
I hear a loud scream. My eyes widen and I throw my legs off the bed, running out of the room. I look around, my heart beating rapidly.
I run to the door, opening it.
Bre was lying in the bed with Noah and Sebastian holding her down. They were trying to unbutton her shirt.
My eyes widen as she thrashed and screamed.
Then I see red.
Everything I see is red. All that I can see is red.
These. Sick. Fucks.
My eyes land on my revolver that laid on the dresser.
