Chapter One Hundred and Two - Mother Eden

It wasn't too long before the ominous sounds of Ramiel's whistling sounded from the other side of the barn door.
"Wait." Eden whispered as Dean put on the Enochian knuckle dusters. "Crowley's out there."
"Oh, now he decides to be helpful?" The older brother hissed.
Eden held up a finger, listening out.
"Ramiel can smell Cas. He senses me too - though, he's not quite sure where he recognises my scent from." She said.
"Oh, great. Confusing the guy's really gunna help." Dean commented.
"Crowley's trying to make a deal with him." Eden continued.
But then Crowley's screams sounded, getting rapidly closer as he was thrown through the barn door.
Sam and Dean jogged over to check on him as Ramiel came through the hole in the broken door.
He strolled into the building, looking at everyone, laying eyes on Eden last.
"So that's who I sniffed out." He seemed genuinely surprised. "Mother Eden, what's it been? A fair few millennia?"
"Hello, Ramiel." She glared. "I hear you've found some new toys to play with."
"That, I have." He smiled, wagging a finger at her before glancing back over at Castiel on the floor. "I see it's served its purpose rather well. What happened to you, Odana? You're a shadow of the woman I remember."
"Your father and I had a falling out." Eden grumbled.
"Apparently so. I doubt you could do much to me like this." Ramiel replied.
"Yes, well, I've brought friends." She retorted.
At that, Sam took a lighter from his pocket, lit it and dropped it on the floor. A ring of Holy fire burst into life around the Prince of Hell.
"Toasty." He smiled.
"You stabbed one of our friends." Dean spoke up.
"Your friend was trespassing." Ramiel countered.
"Tell us how to cure him." Sam demanded as the brothers circled the ring of Holy fire.
Ramiel hummed, glancing to the Angel propped up on an old armchair to his left.
"There is no cure."
"You have any idea who we are?" Dean asked.
"I don't care." Ramiel drawled. "I don't care who you are. I don't care why you're here. I don't care that you're here with my mother. I don't care about Heaven or Hell or anything. I don't even care that Lucifer's got a bun in the oven."
"You know about that?" Mary frowned.
"My sister, Dagon, she's taken an interest. But me?" Ramiel shrugged.
"Let me guess." Dean mumbled. "You don't care."
"All I wanted was to be left alone. But, then, you come. You steal from me. And that, ooh, that I cannot abide." The Prince of Hell growled. Everyone looked just as confused as each other about his comment. Everyone except Mary. Ramiel took out a pocket watch. "Give me back what's mine or I take it off your lifeless bodies. You've got thirty seconds."
"Honestly, we got no idea what you're talking about." Dean told him.
"Twenty seconds." Ramiel smiled. He looked between the group as the clock counted down, chuckling to himself when it hit zero. "Have it your way."
He reached an arm back, revealing the Lance of Michael on his back. He plunged it into the ground, creating a shockwave so strong that it blew everyone back and even took out the Holy fire.
Sam came at him first, earning a shove in the chest and a hit in the face with the Lance's handle, knocking him back again.
Next came Dean, getting a jab to the gut with the blunt end.
Then, was Mary, who took a hit to the face.
Eden came up behind the Prince of Hell, grabbing the lance in one hand and punching him in the spine with all of her strength with the other.
Ramiel cried out, stumbling forward.
"Don't pretend you can beat me, Ramiel. I taught you everything you know." She hissed, moving to a fighting stance with the lance clutched at her side.
"You did, Odana. But you seem a little rusty compared to the last time we sparred." The man chuckled.
He ran at her and Eden lunged with the lance. Ramiel grabbed it and twisted it from her grasp, turning his body with it. He swiped the lance into her barely healed ribs, sending her flying across the room.
Both brothers went for him, but Ramiel jabbed Sam with the blunt end and punched Dean in the face, sending him stumbling towards a support beam. Ramiel took his chance, aiming the lance tip at the older brother.
From behind, Sam grabbed the end, attempting to tear it from Ramiel's grasp. He succeeded when Mary stabbed him with an Angel Blade.
When that did nothing, Sam plunged the Lance tip into the Prince of Hell's chest.
Ramiel let out a burst of laughter, but then yellow bolts of electricity surged through his body, sparking out of his mouth and eyes. The tip of the lance caught fire and... Ramiel burst into ash.

Eden lurched forward from her spot in the floor, clutching her chest, gasping out for breath. It only lasted a few seconds and the ache died down.
Castiel screamed out in agony, his face now covered in the cracked marks.
Everybody ran over to him, Sam dropping the lance in the process.
"Hey, we're here, buddy." He told the Angel, resting a hand on his leg.
Thick black ooze began to pour from Castiel's mouth.
Crowley came round from his trip through the barn door, walked over to the dropped lance and picked it up.
"What are you doing?" Eden asked, looking back at him.
Crowley looked between the lance and Castiel with a thoughtful expression.
He snapped the lance in two, creating a blinding blue light that made everyone have to shield their eyes.
Castiel also began to glow, the light engulfing the four surrounding him.
When the light died down, the marks on Cas' skin were gone.
"The magic's in the craftsmanship." Crowley stated.
Everyone looked back to the Angel.
"Cas?" Dean breathed.
Castiel gave a nod - a silent motion that he was okay.
The brothers, Eden and Mary stood up, addressing the King of Hell.
"You're welcome." He uttered before disappearing.
Sam and Dean turned back around, holding out their hands to help Cas up as Eden wandered over to the scattered ash pile that was once her Prince of Hell. She crouched down, running her fingers through it.
"So... You're good?" Mary asked the Angel in a slight state of disbelief.
"I guess so." Cas replied. "What did he... What did he mean about somebody stealing from him?"
Mary was about to speak up.
"Who knows what that crazy man was talking about." Dean shook his head, cutting her off. "Let's go home."
He walked over towards Eden, picking up the two pieces of lance.
"Are you okay?" Sam asked her as the others left. "Why did he call you that? 'Odana?'"
"It's my name in Aramaic." She uttered, sighing. "There's... Something I didn't tell you all when we were discussing my involvement with the Princes."
Sam crouched down next to her.
"What is it?" He frowned.
"To make the Princes of Hell, Lucifer and I needed a powerful soul to corrupt." She explained. "We used mine."
"So... What does that mean?" Sam pressed, his frown getting deeper.
"I'm not sure exactly. Just, that I felt Ramiel die. It was like this dull ache in my chest." She told him.
"Killing the Princes of Hell kills the pieces of your soul..." Sam realised.
"I think so..." Eden nodded. "There are two remaining Princes; Dagon and Asmodeus. If they find out Ramiel was killed - especially after he did no wrong-doing - they might choose to seek revenge. We're going to have to kill them too."
"Then, we'll find a way to restore your soul. Even if it takes until after you've lost it. You looked after me when I was soulless, I'll do the same for you." He promised.
"Whilst I appreciate that," Eden gave a breathy, humourless chuckle. "Soulless you was a Human. I'm a lot more powerful. If you piss me off or just get in my way, I could... I could kill you."
Sam looked down with a sigh.
"We'll figure that out if it comes to it." He said, getting up and holding out a hand to her. "In the meantime, anymore secret kids I should know about?"
"I'd hardly call them kids. They're mine and Lucifer's experiments. Nothing more." Eden cocked a brow as she heaved herself up in his grip.
"How... Did you and Lucifer make the Princes of Hell, exactly?" Sam asked hesitantly.
She frowned, studying his face for some sort of sign at what he was getting at.
"We didn't have some sort of Demon-producing sex, if that's what you're implying."
"Wha- no, I didn't mean that. I just... You know what? Nevermind." Sam shook his head as he stumbled over his words.
"You're adorable when you're jealous, you know that?" Eden smirked. "No, the only kids I'm ever having will be yours. If you still want them after this, that is..."
Sam sighed, taking her hand.
"Of course I do. Like I said earlier, I know you have a dark past. Just because I'm learning about what that means now, doesn't mean I love you any less. Okay?" He dipped his head to look into her eyes, showing her he was serious.
"Okay." Eden nodded, moving to the tips of her toes to lean up and kiss him as the Impala's horn sounded. "Sounds like someone's getting impatient."
"He could've gone. He knows your car's here." Sam scoffed.
"He might be wondering if you're going back to the Bunker or coming with me back to North Carolina." Eden shrugged.
"We haven't seen each other properly for at least a week... I wouldn't mind spending some time with you. Otherwise we'll only end up meeting for hunts, and I really don't want that." He frowned.
"Me neither."

The couple laid in Eden's 'Vamp Town' bed together, completely naked, wrapped in each other's limbs and a mess of sheets only covering what was necessary, panting from their recent antics.
She leaned over slightly, kissing his anti-possession tattoo before resting her head on it.
"I'm so glad we didn't have any problems to deal with when we got back." She breathed. "I'm not sure I could've kept my hands off you much longer."
Sam released a low chuckle that she heard reverberate through his chest.
"Glad I wasn't the only one."
Just as he'd finished that sentence, the sound of shouting on the street outside the window sounded.
Eden groaned, tucking her face into Sam's chest.
"I don't wanna go..." She whined.
"Let Tobias or Langdon deal with it, then." He gave a gentle shrug.
As if rehearsed, a sharp knock on the bedroom door takes them from their conversation, their eyes locking on the offending wooden panel.
"Uh, Eden? I'm sorry to interrupt, but you're needed downstairs." Tobias called.
"I'll be out in a minute..." Eden sighed heavily, waiting for the patter of the Scotsman's feet vacate the hallway on the other side of the door. "Time to go play the boss."
"I don't think there's any 'playing' about it." Sam smirked, watching her get up to put her clothes back on.
"There won't be when I get back." Eden cocked a brow as a smile tugged at her lips.
She hopped over to his bedside on one foot as she put her boot on, leaning down to give him a kiss.
"Hurry back." He mumbled.
She giggled as she vacated the room, closing the door behind her.

Outside, two men were yelling at each other, surrounded by five or six other Vamps, plus Tobias and Langdon.
"That's enough!" Eden roared from the top of the porch steps. Instantly the yelling stopped. "What the bloody Hell is going on?"
"He's been thievin' blood bags, is what!" One of the men said.
Eden recalled his name being Andy. He was a tall, Southern man, appearing in his forties. She always noted that he looked a little like Bobby, especially in his dress sense. The man he was accusing was Will. He was reasonably new to the community - a lanky man in his mid-twenties, long, dark hair down passed his shoulders. Always wore a dress shirt of some kind and skinny jeans.
"Will? Is this true?" Eden cocked a brow.
"'Course not! He's a liar!" Will shoved Andy back a few paces, leading Andy to move to retaliate.
Eden Vamp sped between them, putting her hands out to their chests.
"No more fighting. There will be no lying in this town just as there is no thieving." She snapped, turning her head to address Tobias. "Are there any blood bags missing?"
"Yes, Eden. Twelve blood bags have disappeared and, I'm afraid to say, they've all been taken during the time Will's been with us." Tobias replied, glancing down to their stock sheet.
"Will, I'm going to ask you one more time." Eden's voice was low. "Did you steal those blood bags?"
"No, I didn't." Will replied.
Eden believed him. His eyes said it all. They'd all heard the stories of what Eden would do to them if they crossed her. Some were rather tall tales, but even those that weren't scared them enough.
"Go and search both houses." She told Tobias and Langdon. "Report back to me when you're done." She then turned back to the two men as her seconds in command scuttled off quickly. "You two, with me. The rest of you can clear off."
The spectators scattered instantly. Andy and Will begrudgingly walked up the porch steps and into Eden's office to the right of the foyer.
The Dark Angel walked into the house just as Sam was coming down the stairs, now fully dressed.
"What are you doing out of bed?" She asked.
"It sounded like it was getting pretty heated down here so I thought I'd come see if I could lend a hand." He replied, slipping his arm round her middle to place a kiss on her forehead.
"You're right. And that's exactly why it would be better if you stayed upstairs. If things get too heated, I don't want to risk you getting hurt." She eyed him through her lashes.
"Do you know what my job is?" Sam chuckled.
"Yes, I do. And I worry about you then, as well. But this, I can prevent from going somewhere I don't want it to, so upstairs, now."
"Actually, I'm getting pretty hungry, so give me your keys." Sam smirked, holding out his hand.
Eden gave a small smile, rolling her eyes as she walked into the office.
She glared to Andy on her way in, putting the Vamp on a serious edge before grabbing the keys from her desk and threw them to Sam on the other side of the room.
"Thanks. Back soon." He gave a small wave as he left.

"Right." Eden started, perching on the edge of her desk with her arms crossed. "We're going to sit here until someone tells me the truth. If Tobias and Langdon get back from their search before that happens, I start hurting people. So, out with it."
The two in front of her shuffled uncomfortably - more so Andy, which only led Eden to believe that he had far more to hide than Will, which was something she suspected anyway.
But still, neither said anything. Even after ten minutes of standing in an extremely tense silence.
"Okay. Change of plans." Eden sighed, nudging herself up from the desk to walk lazy circles around them. "Andy, you're going to tell me exactly what happened in your eyes without Will interrupting even once. Then, Will shall have his turn to say what happened in his eyes without interruption from Andy. If either of you interrupt each other, I'll lock you in the basement for a week everytime you do so with no blood. Is that understood?"
"Yes, Eden." They both mumbled.
"Right. Andy, start talking."
The older man composed himself, straightening out his light blue flannel shirt and khaki body warmer.
"That no-good newbie has been stealin' our supply for weeks - Hell, he's even tried sayin' it was me! I want that idiot gone. He's a liability. Alexander never shoulda turned his ass in the first damn place." He said, rather matter-of-factly. "Once or twice a week, I go in there for inventory and see there's bags missing and he was always the last one to be on patrol. It has to be him."
"So, you've never actually seen him take them." Eden frowned, still circling the man like a Vulture.
"Don't need to. I know it was him." Andy replied. "I take over from him. There's no one else who could've done it."
Eden gave a nod, looking to Will.
"Will. Your turn."
"It wasn't me, I swear. I was just beginning to fit in here, I wouldn't jeopardise that." He said.
"So, who do you think did it?" Eden pressed.
"I don't know. All I know is that those bags were there and accounted for when I was on shift."
That was when Tobias, Langdon and Willow entered the office, holding up over a dozen empty blood bags.
"Oh dear, it seems your time's up, boys." Eden sighed. "Where did you find those?"
"In a box under Will's house." Willow replied.
"What? It wasn't me! I didn't put them there! This was a set up!" Will protested.
"You see? You see what that little asshole's done?" Andy growled, lunging for the younger man.
Eden stepped in the way, shrugging out her wings as she grabbed Andy's thinning brown hair. Her wings flexed, causing the tips to sharpen. She swung the left one round, decapitating Andy right there and then.
Everyone gave a horrified, unanimous gasp as she dropped his head on the floor next to his lifeless body.
Eden walked over to Tobias, grabbing the bags and giving them a deep sniff.
"Andy's scent is all over these. Not a trace of Will. What a surprise." She growled, glaring to the Vamp's body from the corner of her eye. She turned to Will. "You can go. Thank you for being honest with me."
The young Vamp quickly nodded, scuttling off with his tail between his legs.
"How did you know?" Langdon asked.
"No one telling the truth gets that defensive and quick to violence. Even on the miniscule chance he was innocent, no one punishes people in this town besides me." Eden grumbled, shaking back her wings.

By the time Sam returned from getting food, a couple of residents were removing Andy's body and head from the office.
Eden sat at the desk with her feet up, sipping from a blood bag.
The Winchester slipped passed the Vampires, giving the body an elongated glance.
"So, you found out who it was then?" He cocked a brow, placing the plastic bag he was carrying down on the desk.
"Yep." Eden replied, popping the 'p'.
"Good. I'm glad you got that cleared up."
