"Hey sister friend!", April yells as we walk into school, well as I walk in. She's already waiting at my locker when I walk in the front door.

My locker is 10 steps down from the schools front entrance. This high school, Benscott Christian College, is like the typical inside all the time schools that you see on movies. Even though Christian is in the title of the school, you would not know it.

"Hey Zappy", I say with a smile. Don't ask how I got Zappy from April, it's probably due to how fast she moves. She will be in one need of the school one minute, next minute she's on the opposite side. So hence calling her Zappy because of how fast she moves.

"How was your night", she asks whilst pulling books out of the bag she holds.
"Well mum and dad argued like there was no tomorrow, so crap", I say with a sigh.

It's true, dad got another phone call from uncle Joe, but this time it was family night. So mum said something yet again, and this time dad did not hold back. They yelled and screamed at each other until they couldn't breath, at once stage dads face turned blue from how much he yelled. I acted like I was asleep the whole time. But really I cried myself to sleep.

"Oh hunny bunny!", April pulls me into a quick hug, and then we walked to our class together.

Our school isn't all like the ones in movies, we have one class that we sit in all day, and I'm lucky enough to be in the same class as my best friend.

When we get in class, all eyes land on us. Well more accurately speaking, they land on April.

As if in que everyone starts shouting.

What the hell is going on?

"Woah woah woah!", April shouts over the noise," what is going on?", she demands.

"Anagela was last seen at your party!"

Anagela is missing? She's the most popular girl in school.

"I'm sure she'll turn up somewhere", April is good at acting, so she makes it look like its no big deal. But as her best friend, I know when she is faking.

"Well if not, you will be blamed! I've already put you down as a suspect when the police came to question me!".

Okay- back the truck up.
"If she was last seen at a party, which I know for a fact, she wasn't invited to than how will it be Zap- Aprils fault?", I say with as much sass as I can manage.

By the time the class is over, no one talks to anyone.

"Hey Ashley!", April says into the phone excitedly.
"Hey", I say back, she always calls when I'm in the study zone. So today was no surprises. She doesn't normally sound that excited though.
"Guess what!"
"My parents are finally gonna let me live?", I say, this is my normal response.
"No. Better", I shove the book that was on my lap to the side. That means there's some juicy gossip. XOXO gossip girl. I wait for her to talk.

"My parents brought a bus and we're gonna travel Australia!", she squeals.

"So your gonna leave me?", I say, I'm happy for her, don't get me wrong but she's my only friend.

"No.."he voice trails of," my parents told me to invite you!".

All air gets sucked out off my lungs. Me? Travel? I squeal.

"Yes!yes! I have to talk to mum and dad but yes!"

I hang up on her and run to the dining room were my parents sit.

"What happened?", mum asks worried. It's not every day I run to them.
"Aprils family invited me to travel with them!", I squeal while jumping up and down.

"Why do you care?", dad says.
"Aaron, not now", mum replies to him.

My excited mood lows down. They won't let me go. I should have guessed.

"Please?", I beg.

"No." Dad replies in a don't-question-me voice.

My eyes burn as tears threaten to surface them. I don't want to argue with them now, I just turn away and go back to my room. Crying I reach for my phone and message April.

Me: hey Zappy :( they won't let me come :'(
April: oh damn. What did they say?
Me: no... I'll talk to them later.
April: okay *fingers crossed*

I sigh as I plonk down on my bed, I will be going. If I have to run away so be it!
