The Grand Canyon was like a beautiful painting. At least in Peder's mind it was. The rock formations cascaded down to the abyss and the sun coated just the very top of its peaks. The rest was shadowed in a darker hue. It looked liked the sun was rising up from the bottom of the Earth.

"We came her for a bunch of rocks," Flynn stared down into the canyon as the fellow tourists were occupied taking photos.

"Hey we went on the ferry just for a big pool of water," Peder defended,

Hallie nudged Flynn "Sorry," he apologized,

"It's time to go on the hike everyone!" Shouted the perky tour guide. Her hair was in a short pixie cut that reminded Rose and Flynn of their mother only red. She was in her mid forties but had the energy of a twenty year old. Her name tag said Anna.She reminded Flynn of a college tour guide he had seen when touring University of Oregon. She walked backwards effortlessly and quickly so she was able to address the group while still moving.

"I should tell you this hike is made for advanced hikers there is no easy trail. So if you want you can stay with the bus and it'll take you back to the next station over where we will meet you!" She said, "Trust me, the first time I did it I was with my husband Kristoff and I nearly passed out,"

Kristoff. That name ran a bell in Flynn and Rosie's head.

"Kristoff...Anna..." Rose whispered, "Flynn it's cousin Anna!" Flynn grabbed Rosie swiftly and covered her mouth.

"Shhh I don't think she recognizes us. We haven't seen her since I was seven," he replied letting her go.

"Hey guys I think I'm going to hang back on the hike," Flynn said,
"Me too, I prefer not passing out in a canyon," Hallie agreed,

"Guess it's just you and me Peder," Rosie smiled,

"Actually you know what I could use a hike!" Flynn shouted stepping between the two.

"You hate hikes," Rose said,

"Hey I came here to support my friend and his dream to walk through a canyon of rocks, let's go." Flynn stated.

Hallie rolled her eyes, "I'll be at the hotel, take care of him,"

"Oh I will," Flynn said,

"I was talking to Peder and Rosie," Hallie smirked, heading towards the bus,

"Alright everyone let's hurry up and get to this hike!" Anna stated,
