The following day at lunch, Peter and Y/n discussed discretely at the cafeteria lunch table while MJ and her band line up to get theirs.

Y/n: "So you and D.A.R.C went to a Junkyard where she said some guy named 'Timothy Byrnes' is at?"

Peter: "That's right"

Y/n: "From there you met a tall white guy and they plan to use something called Diox-3 to attack an Alchemax convention?"

Peter: "At least, for the most part, I think the full layout of their plan isn't concrete seeing as Alchemax hasn't revealed anything on what they're showing at the convention"

Y/n: "Right. Mind telling me how does that have anything to do with investigating MJ's father?"

Peter; "Just, hold on for a moment. Yesterday I did some digging online, and I come across her parent's marriage history"

Y/n: "Peter..."

Peter: "No, it's nothing illegal trust me"

Y/n: "Alright"

Peter: "While I was going through the file, I come across a woman named 'Gayle Watson'"

Y/n: "Is she like a sister to MJ?"

Peter: "She is, so apparently she left the family after the death of MJ's mother and married Timothy then one thing led to another and now I uncovered a biker gang plan to take over the Alchemax convention"

Y/n: "So you think Gayle leaving the family to a criminal has something to do with MJ's household?"

Peter: "Maybe? I'm just getting the layout of the ground before I could make a solid conclusion"

Y/n: *nod* "Good choice"

Peter: "I just wish we could figure out more about her in a more personal manner"

MJ: "Hey guys!"

Y/n: "I guess our wish could be granted"

MJ and her band along with Miles placed their trays on the table before taking a seat.

MJ: "What are you guys talking about?"

Y/n: *swings arm around Peter* "Oh, just how close Peter and I have been over the days"

Gloria: "You know, I never see you two together"

MJ: "Yeah, what's up with that?"

Y/n: "Mainly because we're brothers. Ain't that right bud?"

Y/n then raised his fist towards Peter for a fist bump as Peter looks at him in the eyes. Time seems to slow down as they began another telepathic conversation.

Peter: "Dude! What the hell are you doing?"

Y/n: "I'm trying to transition my way to a sibling conversation"

Peter: "But we can't just do that, you don't know that maybe-"

Y/n: "Peter! We are starting to look very weird, this is the best idea I could come up with"

Peter: "This is a terrible idea!"

Y/n: "Yeah, Well if a bad idea is the only idea then it becomes a great idea. Now don't just sit there. FIST BUMP ME!"

Peter: "Okay!" 

Peter then reluctantly fist bumps Y/n and gave a slight smile"

Peter: "Yep, that's right"

Y/n: "Speaking off brothers. MJ, do you have a sibling perchance?"

Y/n and the others quickly noticed MJ's expression saddened at the mention of having siblings, causing Y/n to feel guilty about his question.

Y/n: "I'm sorry, it's probably a sensitive topic. You don't need to answer that"

MJ: "No, it's fine. It's just...no one really asked me about siblings"

Y/n: "Really? Some shitty friends you had back then"

Gwen, who happened to sit next to Y/n, elbows him on his side. 

Y/n: "Ow! Definitely deserved that"

Peter: "But if it's alright with you, do you mind telling us about them?"

MJ: "Well,  I had a sister, we weren't really the close sibling types. We were just...there. We sort of drifted apart as we grew older until..."

Miles: "Until?"

MJ: "Until my mother died"

MJ's mood then soured further, causing Miles to regret asking further as Gwen comforted him by rubbing his shoulder lovingly.

Y/n: *to Peter* "He gets shoulder rubs while I get a strike to my side"

Betty: "Well, do you two still talk after that?"

MJ: "No...After mom's death, my sister married herself to some no good man"

Gwen: "That must've been rough"

MJ then shakes off her gloominess and brought back her iconic smile.

MJ: "But Everything's okay now. My dad and I are living quite alright despite the shortcomings. On another note!"

Y/n: *mutters to Peter* "You know, I'm starting to get freaked out by how fast these women change their personalities"

Peter: *mutters back* "You and me both"

MJ: "After school is finally our semester break right?"

Betty: "Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that"

Gloria: "How could you? I've been waiting for this day to come!"

MJ: "Do you guys have any plans after this?"

Everyone looked at each other before shaking their heads collectively.

MJ: "Well in that case, how about we all go to the mall? That sound good?"

Y/n: "As long as US dudes ain't carrying any bags we're okay with it"

Peter & Miles: "Mh-hmm, Mh-hmm"

MJ: "Then it's settled"

From then on the group segue into their normal day-to-day conversation and ate in peace before the bell rings. Y/n and Peter continued the day until it was over leading to a slow final subject until finally, the final bell rings, signaling the end of the class. 

Thus began their Semester break, Peter and Y/n grabbed their bags and headed to the front of the school where they waited for MJ and the rest before boarding a bus to the mall. Once the bus stops at the mall the group disembarked before walking through the automatic doors and being met with the familiar chatter and clatter of shoes that filled the large space that is...

MJ: "THE MALL!!!"

Gloria: "We're here, so what now?"

MJ: "I don't know, what do you guys plan on doing?"

Betty: "Oh! I wonder if the plushie I wanted is in stock now! Can you come with me, Gloria?"

Gloria: *shrug* "Sure, I don't mind"

Peter: "And you MJ?"

MJ looks around from the main entrance and saw a banner for a battle of the band's registration by the food court.

MJ: "Battle of the bands!!? We gotta sign-up. Right now!"

Miles: "Alright then, lead the way"

Betty and Gloria went ahead to buy Betty's plushie as MJ Peter, Gwen and Miles headed to the food court. Before Y/n could come with Peter and the others, he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. Y/n pulls out his phone and sees Spider-Gwen calling him.

Miles: "Yo, Y/n! You coming?"

Y/n: "I need to make a phone call real quick"

MJ: "Oooh~ is it a secret mistress?"

Y/n: "Something like that"

Y/n then walks off to answer his phone in privacy. MJ, who didn't expect a response from Y/n, looks over at Peter with a perplexed expression as Gwen and Miles gave the same look as if demanding an answer, but Peter could only give a shrug before ushering the others to the food court. 

Y/n: *answers phone* "Hey, what's up?"

Gwen's voice: "Hey, how's school?"

Y/n: *sarcastic* "It's great, mom. It's a shame you couldn't pick me up"

Gwen's voice: "Well, since you're still livid with sarcasm I assume you're alright with helping me?"

Y/n: "Shoot"

On a rooftop in Greenwich, Gwen lands on a crane and walks along it upside-down as she continues to talk to Y/n.

Gwen: "So I took the liberty of patrolling around your Manhattan, and I gotta say..."

Gwen looks back to the recent crime she had stopped as the thugs were being escorted to the police cruisers.

Gwen: "You're very loved by these people, polar opposite to my dimension"

Y/n's voice: "It has its upsides, just what happens when you stick to the ground for most of your time patrolling. That doesn't mean it doesn't have its downsides too"

Gwen then swings away from the crane before landing on a church.

Gwen: "Really? Like what?"

Y/n's voice: "Ever met Jonah?"

Gwen: "Oh my god...you have one too?!"

Y/n's voice: "Yep, is he loud and over the top all the time in your dimension?"

Gwen: "Yes! Oh, I've been wanting to share that struggle forever"

Y/n's voice: "So you said something about needing my help?"

Gwen: "Oh, right. So I swung around Manhattan and I haven't found Carnage"

Y/n's voice: "Okay then, I'll make sure to wrap up what I'm doing as quick as I can. After that, I'll suit up and come help you"

Gwen: "Thanks, Y/n. Keep me posted okay?"

Y/n: "Don't worry, I'll call you as soon as...I see her"

Back at the mall, at the corner of his eye, Y/n spots a familiar red hair in the distance. Y/n turned to where he saw the locks and spots Mary Jane, but he noticed Peter wasn't with her nor was Gwen and Miles along with wearing different clothes than the one he saw she wore when they arrived.

Gwen's voice: "Y/n?"

Y/n: "Come to the mall"

Gwen's voice: "Which mall?"

Y/n: "I don't know, how many malls are there in Manhattan?"

Gwen's voice: "IT'S MANHATTAN!!"

Y/n: "Right...that was a stupid question. Just follow where the explosions are, it's usually there"

Gwen's voice: "Y/n, whatever you do. Be careful"

Y/n: *scoff* "Gwen, please. I'm the CEO of Careful"

After ending the call, Y/n pockets his phone before heading to the last place he spots Mary Jane. He squeezes through the crowd before finally reaching Mary Jane who was standing by the water fountain in the middle of the main area of the mall.

As Y/n stood behind Mary Jane, he got a closer look at this MJ. He first noticed her attire, while MJ has a punk rock style while keeping it casual, this MJ wore a style that a metal rock band enjoyer might wear.

Mary Jane wore an all-black leather jacket and pants, tall boots, and even a chain that hangs by her side with a guitar in one hand grabbing it by its neck.

Even at the sight of his target, Y/n decides to approach her without a second thought and stood next to her as if she was an ordinary bystander.

Y/n: "So...who's funeral are you attending?"

Mary Jane: *looks around* "I haven't decided yet. Maybe you could help me choose *sniff* Little Spider~"

Y/n: "Hmm? I don't know what you mean"

Mary Jane: "No need to act so dense, your scent is so distinct it's hard to misinterpret"

Y/n: "What? You have an odor fetish or something?"

Mary Jane: *giggle* "Always the one with a banter. Well, then little spider..."

Mary Jane then looks over at Y/n, her irises changing from her normal green color to yellow as her sclera changes from white to black.

Red goo then emitted through her body and clothes before seemingly wrapping around her entire body except for her hair before extending to the guitar in her hand, causing the body of the guitar to shift into a double-sided ax.

Mary Jane: "Care to have this dance~?"

Y/n stepped back in surprise at witnessing the transformation firsthand as the on-lookers watch the scene unfold in front of them as others took their cameras out to record.

Mary Jane, now transformed into Carnage, lets out a screeching roar across the mall, hallowing across the walls and sharing the civilians to their very core.

This causes panic to spread across the mall as everyone near the scene sprints away in fear, all except for Y/n.

Carnage then charged her ax before swinging it down onto Y/n, he manages to jump away just in time as the ax struck the place he once stood, creating a large crater upon impact.

Meanwhile, at the food court, MJ has finished signing up The Mary Janes to the battle of the bands and has now signed her signature onto their forms.

Clerk: "That's about it, our event is held in Madison Square Garden. Your entry fee will be secured"

MJ: "Thanks, I appreciate-"

MJ was interrupted by a large crowd running past her and her friends in a panic frenzy. They look towards where the crowd was running away from as Gloria and Betty quickly met up with the others. 

MJ: "What's going on?"

Gloria: "I was gonna ask you that"

Peter: "It looks like they're running away from the fountain"

Betty: "Wait, where's Y/n?"

Miles: "Oh no..."

MJ; "We have to go find him"

Peter widens in surprise as maybe Y/n had already changed into Spider-man and is already taking care of the threat.

Peter: "Uhm...How about we evacuate instead? I'm sure Y/n is fine"

MJ: "Peter, you don't know that. We have to make sure he's okay"

Gwen: "She's right, if we know him as much as we do, he'll probably do something stupid"

The others then nodded collectively before running towards the location of the fountain as Peter reluctantly follows right after sighing. 

MJ and the others then arrived at the railing where they are overlooking the fountain and saw Y/n dodging the relentless ax swings of Carnage.

MJ: "Y/n!"

Y/n: *looks over* "What the hell are you guys still doing here!!?"

(~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~)

Y/n manages to jump away as Carnage tried to pounce on Y/n causing her to crash through a bench.

Y/n: "You guys see people running away from something and the first thing you do is run towards it?" *continues dodging* 

Gwen: "We came to help you!"

Y/n: "What can you do!?"

(~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~)

Carnage then reels her arm back before sending a sharp tendril towards Y/n, he manages to lean far back to avoid the tendril before jumping away. With the slight halt in their battle, Carnage looks over to MJ and the others and licked her lips with her grotesquely long tongue.

Carnage: "My~ It seems there's more people to play with"

Y/n: "You leave them out of this"

Taking a piece of the broken bench, Y/n ran up to Carnage right as she looks back at him and was met with a piece of metal to the face, only to have little to no effect. 

Carnage: "hmm~ I like it when you're rough"

Y/n: "The fuck?"

(~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~)

Carnage then hunched over before sending dozens of tendrils towards Y/n, with him being so close to Carnage, he didn't have enough time to dodge and instead crossed his arms around his face.

The tendrils slash across Y/n's body with full force, sending him back as his clothes were torn as his entire body is covered with scratches and cuts. 

Y/n: (I have to lead Carnage out of here, otherwise they'd get hurt)

Y/n then jumps away just as Carnage performs a downward slash onto him. As soon as he landed, Y/n sent a kick to the side of Carnage's face, sending her towards the escalator, breaking it upon impact. 

Betty: "Man, that thing looks so cool!"

Y/n: "You guys gotta get out of here!"

Miles: "And what are you gonna do?"

Y/n: "I'm going to try and lead this out of the mall"

Gwen: "Are you crazy!!?"

Y/n: "Possibly!" 

Y/n: (I also need to cause enough chaos for Gwen to find me)

Carnage: "Can the little spider come out to play~?"

Y/n: "Go, now!"

Y/n then dodges a tendril that tried to attack him from the crater on the escalator before running away with Carnage leaping out of the crater and following after as MJ and the rest had no choice but to make their escape and hope that Y/n will be alright.

Now with no more prying eyes, Y/n could finally move freely, using his enhanced agility to effortlessly dodge Carnage's attacks as she relentlessly chases after him. 

In a desperate attempt of sorts, Carnage cuts off a plastic display tree near one of the shops and hurls it towards Y/n. He was tempted to use his web-shooters to hurl the attack back, but with a threat of security cameras possibly in the area, Y/n decided against using it and instead twisted his body mid-air, letting the tree fly past him as it nearly grazes his face before landing in a Three-point stance. 

Carnage: "What's wrong, little spider? I thought you wanted to play"

Y/n: "I don't, just buying time"

Carnage: "For who? Your little Spider-hussie? Well, I have to warn you; she really isn't so reliable as much as she wants you to believe"

Y/n: "How do you know that?"

Carnage: "Because I was the same way, thinking I could safely rely on her only to be plagued with betrayal in the end"

Y/n: "Jesus, a bit edgy don't you think? I thought you two were best friends"

Carnage: "Really? Well do best friends let's an alien goo bonds to their friend unwillingly?"

Y/n looked at Carnage confused, causing her to chuckle lightly before bursting into laughter at his dumbfounded expression.

Carnage: "Look at you, so oblivious in the danger you keep around"

Y/n: "You know if you fight as good as you talk then maybe we wouldn't be having this conversation"

Carnage: "Alright, don't say I didn't warn you"

Y/n looks back at the tree and makes his way over to it before chucking it towards Carnage as she slices the tree cleanly in half with her ax. Once the two halves of the tree flew past her, she saw Y/n making his escape, forcing her to give chase. 

Over at the other entrance of the mall, teenagers and young adults alike enters through the entrance, excited to have fun at the mall until Y/n lands on his knees near the entrance from the higher floor, surprising the civilians. 

Y/n: "I'm sorry, the mall is closed today"

As the people try to wrap their heads around Y/n landing knees first from the second floor unharmed, Carnage cuts through the hand railing before landing behind Y/n in a similar fashion and slowly meeting their eyeliner, revealing her sickening face. 

Y/n: "RUN!!!"

The civilians left no room to argue as they ran out as fast as they came in while the two security guards that are guarding the entrance try to hold Carnage back. When Carnage was about to shoot her tendrils towards the guards, Y/n dove through the air and tackled the guards before they got hit. 

Y/n: "I appreciate you guys being honorable, but bullets never work against bad guys"

Carnage then charged up her ax, sending the red goo to travel across the handle before coating the blades of the ax in red energy. 

Y/n: "GO! GO! GO!"

Y/n grabbed the two guards by the arm and pulled them up before pushing them out of the mall.

Y/n manages to push the two guards out of the mall right as Carnage swings her ax, with it being empowered the purple ax was wrapped around its symbiote to extend the length and size of the ax blade as she swings it, cutting the entrance in half and barely grazing the guard's uniform but manages to gash Y/n's back through his bag, sending him tumbling formard before crashing into a city mailbox. 

Y/n: *groan* (Gwen, where the hell are you!?)

Peter: "Y/n!"

Looking to the side, Y/n saw Peter and the others looking worried as they ran over to him. 

Miles: "Holy shit..."

Peter: "Dude, you're hurt. We need to get you to-"

Y/n: "What part of 'run away' do you guys not understand!!?"

Gwen: "Jeez, we're trying to help you. A 'thank you' would be appreciated"

Kneeling next to Y/n, Gwen carefully removed Y/n's bag before hunching him over to inspect his wound.

Gwen: *wince*  "That wound looks pretty deep"

Y/n: *sarcastic* "Oh really? It doesn't feel deep"

The sound of footsteps on shatterd glass could be heard back at the entrance of the mall, pulling their attention towards the footsteps as Carnage slowly walks out and licks her ax blade where remains of Y/n's blood were wiped off. 

Carnage: "Mhhhm~ Tasty"

Y/n: "We're running out of time"

Y/n took his backpack near him, wincing in pain from his sudden movement, before shoving the backpack to Peter. 

Y/n; "Here, take this. You go somewhere far away, and you hide. *to Peter* You know what to do"

Peter: "We can't just leave you to bleed out here, Y/n"

Y/n: "Damnit there's no time to argue! I'm slowly bleeding out over here!!"

As Carnage makes her way towards Y/n, MJ quickly steepd in front of him, surprising Peter and the others.

Gloria: "MJ..."

MJ: "We're not leaving, Y/n. Not without you"

This display sparked a fire inside Peter as he looks over at MJ with admiration.

Peter: "...She's right, you've done enough"

Peter clentches onto Y/n's backpack before walking over and standing beside MJ.

Peter: "Now it's our turn to help"

MJ: "Peter..."

One by one, each of Y/n's friends stood next to the two as they stood in-front of Carnage defiantly.

MJ: "We're not gonna let you hurt Y/n anymore, and we refuse to just leave him behind"

Gwen: "You might had your way with Y/n before, but we'll be damned if we let you do it again"

Miles: "He's our friend"

Gloria: "And we'll stand by him till the very end"

Betty: "Yeah!"

Peter: "We're not just gonna sit by and let our friend get hurt. We'll stand our ground against you, because..."

Peter placed a hand over his chest where his heart is before clentching it tightly.

Peter: "THAT'S WHAT HEROES DO!"

Y/n: *mutter* "We're all gonna die"

Carnage: *giggle* "Well isn't that cute"

Carnage then sets her ax down slightly behind her as she subtly began charging it with her symbiote. 

Carnage: "If you all want to die with him so badly...HOW COULD I REFUSE!!"

Carnage then grabbed her ax and swung it widely across the air, sending the ax head towards the grouped up teenagers.

But before the attack would hit them, Spider-woman manages to swoop in just in time to redirect the attack, causing it to only graze MJ's hair, cutting off a small strand of her hair as Carnage was sent away. 

Y/n: "Fuckin' FINALLY!"

Spider-woman: "Is anyone hurt?"

MJ: "J-Just our friend"

MJ and the others moved apart to show the badly injured Y/n.

Spider-woman: (Y/n!) "Get him out of here, Police are on their way"

MJ: "Right. Come on, guys"

Peter then swung Y/n's bag over his as he, along with Miles, grabbed Y/n by the arm and swung it over their shoulder before carrying him out. 

Gloria: "We need to get him to the hospital"

Y/n: "No hospital, too expensive"

Gwen: "Well, that gash isn't gonna heal at home now would it?"

Y/n: "There's a bar in Hell's kitchen, it's just a short drive away. I know someone who frequents there"

MJ: "Gloria, call a cab"

Gloria: "On it"

Betty: "I'll come with"

When MJ and the others finally got Y/n off the scene, Spider-woman looked back at Carnage as she rubs her jaw in pain from Gwen's kick.

Spider-woman: "You're gonna pay for what you did to my boyfriend"

Carnage: *chuckle* "Then by all means...do your worse"

Okay, I know I said that we're back to 1.something k chapters now but I sorta felt like making a new one. 

With Y/n badly injured can he take on Carnage even with the help of Spider-gwen and his friends? Will he survive his injuries or would he succumb to it and die and probably ruin the entire story.
