A Quinjet is seen soaring through the clouds just above the Indian Ocean, inside we see S.H.I.E.L.D's STRIKE team standing in front of a holographic screen built onboard the aircraft. Strike team field commander, Brock Rumlow is giving the briefing for their mission with Captain America who is also present along with Natasha Romanoff and a masked agent in a skin-tight black suit standing next to her.

Brock: "The target is a mobile satellite launch platform, The Lemurian Star. They're setting up their last payload until pirates took them 93 minutes ago"

Steve: "Any demands?"

Brock: "A million and a half"

Steve: "Why so steep?"

Brock: "Because it's S.H.I.E.L.D's"

Steve: *To Natasha* "So it's not off course, it's a trespass"

Natasha: "I'm sure they have a good reason"

Steve: "Well, I'm getting sick and tired of being Fury's Janitor"

Natasha: "Relax, it's not that complicated"

Natasha looks back at Steve before the two look back to the holographic screen, as the masked agent beside her looks to be struggling with his suit.

Steve: "How many pirates?"

Brock: "25, Top mercs, led by this guy. Georges Batroc"

Brock then moved some images around the screen before pulling up a mug shot of a man with a buzz cut.

Brock: "Ex-DGSE, Action Division. He's at the top of Interpol's red notice. Before they demobilize him, he had thirty-six kill missions. This guy's got a rep for maximum casualties"

Steve: "Hostages?"

Brock: "Mostly techs, and one officer..."

He then pulls up dozens of images of the technicians aboard the ship before zooming in on a Hungarian American man with glasses.

Brock: "Jasper Sitwell, the man in the galley"

Steve: "What is Sitwell doing in a launch ship? *aloud* Alright, I'm gonna sweep the deck and find Batroc, Nat you cut the engines and wait for instructions, Rumlow you sweep the Mast and find the hostages, get them to the life pods, get them out, all the while agent Spider takes control of the high ground and be our eyes in the sky. Let's move!"

Brock: "STRIKE team you heard the Cap. Gear up!"

The Quinjet then began lowering altitude as the Steve and Nat along with the STRIKE Team agents began setting up their equipment and checking their commlinks.

Steve: *comm* "Secure channel 7?"

Natasha: "7, secure. You doing anything fun Saturday night?"

Steve: "Well...all the members of my Barbershop Quartet are dead, so No, not really"

Natasha: "What about you Spidey?"

Spider: "I have a question..."

Spider: "Why the hell did Nick make my suit super skin tight?"

The masked agent complained as the voice revealed to be Y/n with a new suit made by S.H.I.E.L.D

Natasha: "It looks good on you, it suits your personality"

Y/n: "Yeah, right. Just because I'm a teenager doesn't mean I have an emo phase"

Natasha: "Well, people say it's not a phase, it's a lifestyle"

Y/n: "Please just shut up..."

Agent: "Hey, Spider-man. Check it out"

Y/n looked over to one of the STRIKE team members that walked up to him before flashing a watch with his red mask on the face of the clock.

Y/n: "Yoo! They make merch out of me now?!"

Agent: "It's from my daughter, she's a big fan of yours"

Y/n: "Aw that's sweet. What's your name?"

Agent: "It's Chris"

Y/n: "Nice to meet you, Chris. Tell you what after this mission I'll sign that watch for you and your daughter"

Chris: "You'd do that?"

Y/n: "Of course, it's not a problem at all"

Chris: "Oh, thank you Spider-man"

The agent then wrapped Y/n with a hug, surprising him before hugging him back himself. They then pulled back as the agent now had a bright smile on his face.

Chris: "You know, this reminds me of that theme song my daughter used to sing"

Y/n: "There's a theme song about me too?!"

Chris: "Yeah, it goes like "Spider-man, Spider-man. Does whatever a spider can, spins a web, any size, Catches thieves just like flies. Look out! Here comes the Spider-man~"

Y/n: "Oh shi-"

Brock: "Oh my god, would you two cut it out!"

Y/n: "Wow, never would've guessed Brock hates music. What are you HYDRA or something?"

Brock: *nervous* "No! Why would-Why would you think that?"

Pilot: *comms* "Coming up the drop zone Cap"

Hearing the call out, Steve then slams on the green button to his right which leads the main door of the Quinjet to open.

Natasha: "You know if you asked Christan out from Statistics, she'll probably say Yes"

Steve: *puts on mask* "It's why I don't ask"

The Quinjet door then fully opens, letting the wind and loud noise of the engine come inside the aircraft. Steve then grabbed his shield before walking to the edge.

Natasha: *aloud* "Too shy or Too scared!?"

Steve: *aloud* "Too Busy! Come on, Spidey!"

Y/n: "Yep! *To Chris* Catch you later man"

Chris: "You too!"

Y/n and Steve then approached the edge of the door before jumping out together, performing a Halo Dive.

Agent #2: "Were they wearing a parachute?"

Brock: "No...No they were not"

Y/n and Steve continue to fall out of the sky, spreading their arms and legs out to slow their fall as they strike a quick conversation.

Y/n: *comms* "Be honest, do you think I was ever emo or edgy?"

Steve: *comms* "I don't even know what those words mean"

Y/n: *comms* "Wow you are seriously behind in times. You must be really old"

Steve: *comms* "Can we focus on the mission rather than how old I am?"

Y/n: "Okay, fine!"

The two then straighten out, diving headfirst towards a battleship before splitting off. Once Y/n got close to the ship, he extends his arms and legs outwards as he deploys a glider made out of webs from under his arms to act as a wingsuit while Steve adjusts his position, now feet first as he dove through the water.

Y/n then glides around until he reaches the communications tower of the ship, perching himself to the side as he puts away his makeshift glider. Y/n then looks down and sees two pirates over at the tower being preoccupied to even notice Y/n.

Seeing his opportune moment to strike, Y/n made his way over to the pirates while being careful not to be in their field of vision. He manages to be just under the pirates and begins to crawl over to the open window that they left behind.

Now entering the tower, Y/n crawled through the window and up the wall until he was behind the two pirates still completely oblivious to Y/n's presence. So when he's in position, he decides to make his presence known.

Y/n: *clears throat* "So...you guys enjoy the water life often?"

Pirates: *in French* "What the-"

Y/n then shot a trip mine web to the pirate on the left before pushing himself off the wall and knocking out the pirate to the right with a kick to the jaw, the pirate on the left went and points his gun at Y/n but the trip mine manages to arm just in time and activate on the pirate's back, shooting a web towards him before pulling him back and wrapping him in the web.

Y/n: *comms* "I got control of the tower, Captain"

Steve: *comms* "Tell me what you see"

Looking outside, Y/n spots one of the pirates doing patrol near Steve's position.

Y/n: *looks out* "I see a baddie patrolling around your entry point..."

Y/n held off and continues to watch as the pirate continued walking, moving past the anchor chain.

Y/n: "...He just moved"

Steve is seen climbing on the side of the large chains the anchor is connected to and uses it to make his way on the ship. When the coast was clear, Steve boarded the ship and went to put the pirate that walked past in a chokehold, waiting for the pirate to lose his breath before falling unconscious.

Steve: "Tango down, what else do you see?"

Y/n: *comms* "There are two pirates down at the helm, think you could take them out?"

Steve crouched down and made his way to the front of the ship, once he sees the pirates, Steve took off in a sprint as he grabs his shield from his back and throws it towards the first pirate that spots him. Steve then slid under some cables as his shield bounces off the first pirate's face before bouncing off the side of the ship and hitting the second pirate in the back, causing him to stumble forward as Steve trips him. He then catches the shield effortlessly before chucking it towards the pirate that he tripped over, hitting the pirate in the face, knocking him out before bouncing back to Steve.

Y/n: *comms* "You're Shield doesn't obey the laws of physics at all, and it's driving me insane!"

Steve: "What's next?"

Y/n: *comms* "Three pirates next side over"

Moving fast, Steve made his way through the front and towards the three oblivious pirates. Steve runs towards the pirate in the middle before spartan kicking him away so hard, it sends the pirate overboard. The pirate on the left went to hit Steve with the but of his rifle but he manages to sweep the pirate's feet before quickly standing up to block the pirate on the left. He then throws the pirate over his shoulder before throwing a strong punch to the pirate's face, knocking him out before taking the last pirate down with a spin kick.

Steve: "Clear"

Y/n: *comms* "There not much of a challenge for you. How about three more pirates in a narrow space? They're at the side of the ship"

Steve then booked it to the side of the ship, sprinting across to the side in record time. He manages to bump a pirate overboard and continues running towards another pirate, Steve jumps over a barricade before punching the pirate square in the face. He then heard footsteps coming up the stairs to his behind him, Steve quickly got into position and kicked the pirate straight in the chest, sending him flying back.

Steve then turned back to the previous pirate and saw him pull out a knife before proceeding to take swipes at Steve, he manages to deflect the pirate's attack before grabbing his wrist and disarming him. The pirate that Steve kicked away regained his bearings and looked up toward the emergency switch.

Y/n: *comms* "Alarm!"

With the disarmed knife in hand, Steve held it by the blade before throwing it towards the pirate's hand where he was about to trigger the alarm.

Pirate: "AAARRGHH!!"

The pirate wailed in pain but was cut short by being knocked out by Steve before continuing to run across the ship.

Steve: "What's next?"

Y/n: *comms* "There are 6 dudes directly below you"

Steve: "Any sight on Batroc?"

Y/n: *comms* "I got nothing on the cameras so far"

Steve: "Keep searching, he's bound to come out eventually"

Steve then reaches the railing to the floor he's on, he vaults over it before rolling on the ground and equipping his shield to swat a pirate away that was behind him when he landed. The two pirates that were nearby quickly got alerted to Steve's presence as the pirate directly in front of him turned around and went to attack Steve, but he quickly kicks him away into some steel barrels.

The other pirate as well as the pirate that was swatted away then went to double-team Steve to try and get an advantage, but Steve quickly slams his shield to pirate on the left straight in the gut as the pirate on the right was hit in his knee before bashing both of them in the head in quick succession.

The fourth pirate from afar looked over at Steve and went to pull out his pistol, but Steve quickly spun around and hurled his shield towards the pirate, hitting him directly in the head before bouncing towards the railings on the ship and bouncing on the ship once again before finally flying back to Steve.

Another pirate went to punch him but Steve manages to grab his arm and knee him at the side of the head twice before throwing him to the side and catching his shield as another pirate went up the stairs to Steve's level. They then began another brawl, the pirate went to kick Steve in the chest but he swat the leg away as the pirate went for a hook, which Steve redirects to his side with his shield before grabbing the pirate's neck with his off-hand and dropping him to the ground.

The pirate that Steve kicked away began to stand up and went to get a hit on Steve, but he merely took the shield into his hand before placing the front near the pirate's face and striking the back, causing a sound crash to ring out as the shield bashes to the side of the pirate's head as Steve stood victoriously until he heard a gun being cocked behind him.

Pirate: *in french* "Don't move!"

Steve: "Spidey, you said there were 6"

Y/n: "The dude was hiding in a corner, how the hell should I know?"

Pirate: *in french* "Put your hands up! Don't move"

Steve remained standing, enraging the pirate but before he could pull the trigger he was shot down by Brock who parachutes down on Steve's level.

Steve: "Thanks"

Brock: "Yeah, you seem pretty helpless without me"

Rumlow then unclipped his parachute right as Natasha and the rest of the STRIKE team landed on the ship. Seeing the ship is now being infiltrated by S.H.I.E.L.D, Y/n decides to exit the tower after connecting his phone to the surveillance cameras before he went to hang on the side of the antenna to survey the area more freely.

Natasha: "What about the nurse that lives across the hall from you, she seems pretty nice"

Steve: "Secure the engine room, then find me a date"

Natasha: "I'm Multi-tasking" *vaults over railing*

Steve: "Spider-man, how are we with Bactroc?"

Y/n: *comms* "Found him, he's at the command bridge"

Steve: "Alright, how about the hostages? You see them anywhere?"

Y/n: *comms* "They're held up in the ship's kitchen area"

Steve: "How many pirates?"

Y/n: "I count 4"

Steve: "Alright, STRIKE Team. You heard Agent Spider, move out"

Gaining the newly acquired intel, the STRIKE team moved into position. Chris and another member of the STRIKE team went and repelled down the side of the ship as Brock and another member went down towards the kitchen.

Inside the kitchen, one of the pirates in command inside the kitchen shouted threats at the hostages before going over to the metal door and shouting orders in french to another pirate on the other side.

Once he received the order, the pirate went to turn around only to be shocked in the head by Brock, knocking him unconscious. The pirate's body went to fall but Brock manages to catch the body before it could fall to the ground, once he successfully stored the unconscious body away, Brock placed a breaching charge by the door before looking down his infrared sights and aimed towards the commanding pirate inside just as the repelling STRIKE team members reached the kitchen and has assigned their targets.

Brock: "We're in position, Cap"

Steve: *comms* "Alright, we'll wait for Natasha"

Back topside, Steve runs up and parkours to the second level to get a clear view of the command bridge.

Steve: "Spider-man, could you patch me through the command bridge?"

Y/n: *comms* "You got it"

Looking away from his tablet, Y/n stretched his arm out and aimed towards the command bridge as he readies his fingers to fire, he then raises his arm slightly before sending out a small microchip from his web-shooters, it flew across the ship in an arc before quietly sticking itself to the glass window of the bridge.

Y/n: *comms* "Okay, good to go"

Steve then went to his earpiece and began eavesdropping on the command bridge and hears one pirate giving orders through the phone before going to his comms and checking up on Natasha.

Steve: "Natasha, what's your status?"

Meanwhile, inside the engine room, the pirate that was on the phone recognized the order before hanging up the call. He then turned around and was quickly met by Natasha who was leaning on the ladder down to the engine room.

Natasha: "Hey, Sailor~"

Before the pirate could react, Natasha broke the pirate's femur with her kick. The pirate was wailed and was about to scream, only for Natasha's wire to be wrapped around his neck, blocking his airway, cutting off his breathing as well as his screams.

She then used the pirate as a springboard and backflipped over the railing as she pulls out two suppressed pistols and began shooting the pirates as she falls while using the chocking pirate as an anchor point.

Natasha then riddled the pirate below her with bullets before landing on his body, two pirates directly below her heard rattling as she lands, but when they looked up they only saw the body of their comrade blocking their view of Natasha.

She then swung her arms to the side of the body and shot the two pirates below her, Natasha then continued down and lands in the main engine room quietly before running to ambush a pirate doing patrol.

Steve: *comms* "Natasha, Status report"

Natasha: "Hang on!"

She shouted into her mic, alerting the pirate. He turned around right as Natasha climbed up to the pirate's shoulders before incapacitating him with her widow's bite. Once he was swiftly dealt with, she continued to run as another pirate went to intercept.

He went to point his pistol at her, but Natasha ducks down and grabbed the pirate's arm before breaking it. The pirate growled in pain as Natasha dealt a swift kick to his side before sweeping his legs as another pirate appeared behind her.

Nat transitions her sweep into a cartwheel kick, knocking the pirate's weapon out of his hands before elbowing him in the chin before grabbing the pirate's neck and performing a powerbomb. When the pirate his neutralized, Natasha got back on her feet and went to her microphone.

Natasha: "Engine room, secure"

The pirate that Nat swept started standing up, she then grabbed a metal rod nearby and whacked it across the pirate's face, preventing him from getting up before throwing it to the side and walking out.

With the engine room now secured, Steve went ahead and counted the STRIKE team down.

Steve: *comms* "On my mark, 3...2...1!"

Right after the countdown, the STRIKE team opened fire, taking down 2 of the 3 pirates inside the kitchen, the last pirate looks around confused as the kitchen door was blasted open, revealing Brock with his rifle already pre-aimed towards the pirate.

Brock: "Surprise~"

He then squeezed the trigger, letting a dingle bullet fly out of his rifle and straight through the pirate's head.

Sitwell: "I told you, S.H.I.E.L.D doesn't negotiate"

Brock: "Hostages secured, moving to extraction"

Back at the command bridge, the pirate that was with Batroc tried to get a hold of the engine crew but received no response. The pirate tried one more time as Batroc looked over at his accomplice confused.

Pirate: *in French* "It's Captain Ameri-"

Before the pirate could warn Batroc fully, Steve hurls his shield towards the command bridge, crashing through the window and hitting the pirate directly in the head, knocking him out.

This left Batroc alone and on high alert as Steve jumps up to the command bridge through the broken window to grab his shield and went to take down Batroc. When he stepped foot inside the command bridge, however, Batroc stayed down before sending a kick to Steve's chest as he stood, knocking the super-soldier back before taking off. 

Steve quickly readjust himself before taking back his shield and giving chase after Batroc. Cap manage to follow after him out of the room and into an open area of the ship, he began looking around in worry that he had lost Batroc.

Brock: *comms* "Hostages en route to extraction, Romanoff missed the rendezvous Cap. Hostiles still in play"

Steve: "Natasha, Batroc's still on the move. Circle back to Rumlow and protect the hostages...Natasha?"

Hearing radio silence on Natasha'send, Steve went to check one more time only to be ambushed by Batroc who was hiding behind a wall. He sent a flurry of kicks towards Steve who luckily manages to block with his shield, Batroc countered this by going full force on the last kick, sending Steve stumbling backwards due to the sudden change of force.

Batroc then cartwheeled into an axe kick towards Steve who manages to move away just in time. Batroc didn't relent as he went for another kick directed toward's Steve's head but was swatted away as the two stood up.

Steve then went to block Batroc's side-kick but it connects before he could block the attack, sending him stumbling back from the force of the kick. Batroc then spun in the air before going for another axe kick, but Steve puts up his shield again and blocks the kick as he repositions above Batroc. 

The two then got themselves into a frenzy, each sending out a flurry of punches as they tried to deflect their opponents, Steve was beginning to be pushed back and that's when Batroc went for a spinning back kick aimed towards Steve's head, but he manages to duck down and shield bash Batroc, sending him back as he skids onto the metal floor. 

Batroc then jumped up to his feet before continuing their bout, this time being faster and more aggressive towards his kicks. However, his relentless aggression proved to jeopardize him as he gave Steve an opening. Deflecting Batroc's attack, he then went for a crane kick but Steve ducks under the kick and deflects Batroc's follow up kick before grabbing him by the neck and knee stricken him to the gut 3 times before tossing him back. 

Batroc manages to catch himself before he falls, transitioning from his fall into 3 separate backflips before landing just a few feet away and facing Captain America.

Batroc: *in French* "I thought you were more than just a shield"

In light of this, Steve puts away his shield onto his back before taking off his helmet/mask and tossing it to the side. 

Steve: *in French* "Let's see"

Now unmasked, the two then continued their brawl now on equal footing as they began fighting in true hand-to-hand combat fashion. Batroc went for another kick towards Steve's side, but he anticipated this and blocks the kick and went for a hook. Batroc elbow blocks the punch and dodges Steve's follow up hook, he then kicks Steve in the gut before punching Steve as he went up, however, Steve stayed down, letting the punch fly past him before kneeing Batroc in the diaphragm and elbow strike him in the side of the head, sending him stumbling back. 

Batroc went to reengage with one more kick, but Steve intercepted it with a kick of his own towards Batroc's incoming shin, hunching him over in pain, giving him the perfect opportunity for a spartan kick to the chest, sending him back once again before spinning in the air and deliver an axe kick to his head, sending him to his back once again. 

Batroc shook off his dizziness and went to stand up as Steve takes a quick break. Once Batroc was almost at his feet, Steve shoulder-charged Batroc into a room behind him, crashing through the door before punching Batroc directly in the face. 

Natasha: "Well, this is awkward" 

Steve looks over at Natasha who was accessing one of the ship's computers.

Steve: *walks over* "What are you doing?"

Natasha: "Backing up the hard drive, it's a good habit to get into"

Steve: "Rumlow needed your help, What the hell are you doing here?"

Steve went and looked over at the screen and see a progress bar loading up data related to S.H.I.E.L.D.

Steve: "You're saving S.H.I.E.L.D intel"

Natasha: "Whatever I could get my hands on"

Steve: "Our mission was to rescue the hostages!"

Natasha: "No, that's YOUR mission. Much like Agent Spider's is to be look-out *takes Flashdrive* And you've done it beautifully"

Nat then went to walk out of the room but was pulled back by Steve.

Steve: "You just jeopardized this whole operation"

Natasha: "I think that's over-stating things"

Natasha and Steve then heard rustling by the door, they look over and saw Batroc, who was now back on his feet, pull the pin out of a grenade and threw it towards the two. Steve swats it away from them with his shield before he grabbed Natasha and jumped over the console and through a window which Nat shot up with her pistol just as the grenade explodes, sending the entire room ablaze.

Natasha: *hugs the wall* "Okay...That one's on me"

Steve: "*looks back*  "You think?"

Y/n: *comms*  "What the hell is going on down there?"

Steve: "Batroc armed an explosive and is now running away"

Y/n: *comms*  "That was you guys!?... Alright, I see him. I'll take care of it"

Y/n got off his phone and looked to the side and see Batroc booking it towards a small raft. He looks around and sees a heavy-looking steel barrel, Y/n wrapped the barrel in webbing and hurls it in the air before zipping after it. 

When Batroc was about to make his escape, the barrel crashed through the raft, sinking it to the bottom of the ocean as Y/n superhero landed in front of him. 

Y/n: "Whoops, looks like we're stuck here for a while. Wanna play 20 questions?"

Enraged, Batroc went to kick Y/n at the side of his head but thanks to his Spidey-sense manage to duck under the attack.

Y/n: "No? How about we thumb-wrestle?"

Y/n extends his hand but Batroc tried to sweep Y/n's feet, Y/n only jumped over the kick as Batroc stood back up and went on his stance. 

Y/n: "Fine, face kick it is!"

Batroc went for a punch towards Y/n as he intercepts with a spin kick to his face, sending Batroc back as he transitions into several more backflips before finally landing back on his feet.

Y/n: "Man, how the hell are you not dizzy after that"

Batroc: *in French* "They sent a child to do a man's job"

Y/n: "To be honest I don't understand a single word you're saying"

Batroc and Y/n then took off running at each other as Y/n slid under Batroc's drop kick before stopping himself with his hand and went for a handstand into an axe kick down on Batroc. He rolls to the side to dodge the attack before standing up, Batroc then let out a flurry combo of kicks which Y/n dodges as he backs away. 

After missing a round-house kick, Batroc went to throw a punch but Y/n quickly webs the fist before pulling Batroc behind him causing him to stumble forward. Y/n doesn't let go of the web and instead tosses it over Batroc as he stumbles by before regaining his stability. 

Batroc then went for another hook but Y/n webs up the fist also before pulling Batroc towards him and contorting his arms in front of him as Y/n cartwheels to the side and hit Batroc in the head, knocking him out before Y/n binds him in his webbing.

Y/n: "Gotta be honest, you almost made me break a sweat. Almost"

Another high action opener for this arc, I'd like to state that this arc might be on the fight scenes a lot more often. Just to make up on the less action packed chapters on the long run.

I bet you guys are wondering why this arc is called 'Identity Crisis' instead of the more likely and more predictable Winter soldier arc where I'm basing the setting of this arc on...Well, let's just say [SPOILERS!] that's why.
