Y/n and Tony arrived at the S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier. with Y/n still shaken by the flight as Tony flies to the hanger of the carrier and sets Y/n down. Y/n immediately went to his knees upon landing, overwhelmed from flying at such heights and speed while clinging into essentially an aircraft.

Y/n: "*groan* "That was so scary/ Cool but scary"

Tony: "Oh, toughen up kid. You'll get used to it"

Y//n: "I don't think I want to"

Tony then got out of his Iron Man armor, just as Phil enters the hanger to greet the two.

Phil: "Mr. Stark, glad you could still make it"

Tony: "Sorry about that, had to pick someone up. You know what they say about Fashionably late"

Phil: "So that's the 'assistant' you're talking about?"

Y/n: "Wait, you mentioned me?"

Tony: "Oh right, you two haven't met. Y/n this is Agent Coulson, but I usually just call him Phil and Phil, this is Y/n"

Phil: *extends hand* "Nice to meet you"

 Y/n: *shakes hand* "Yeah, same. My name's Y/n L/n if he hadn't made it clear yet"

Phil: "L/n? as in-"

Tony: "Their firstborn, I know. How crazy is that?"

Phil: "Then we need to put you into questioning, S.H.I.E.L.D has been figuring out who that Firstborn could be, and now that you're here, he could-"

Tony looked over at Y/n and see him being uncomfortable with the thought of being questioned about his parents so Tony decided to interject Coulson.

Tony: "Actually, Coulson. It would be much appreciated if you could maybe keep him on the down-low"

Phil: "Why?"

Tony: "come on, just look at the kid"

Tony gestures Phil over to Y/n who was looking around the hanger fascinated by the Jets and the entire Helicarrier in general.

Tony: "I talked with him just this morning, the topic about his parents is a bit sensitive to him at the moment. So I'd like it if he doesn't get questioned about his parents, like at all"

Phil: "Tony, You know I can't do that for you"

Tony: "Then don't do it for me, do it for the kid"

Phil: "I-*sigh* Fine, I'll keep quiet about the kid. But you owe me one"

Tony: "Of course, how about an all-expense-paid trip to a tropical island in Hawaii?"

Phil: "Anything but that"

Phil then made his way out of the Hanger along with Tony as he taps Y/n and asked to follow him.

Y/n: "Hey...Uh, thanks for, you know...That, back there"

Tony: "Of course, you and I are not so different so it's only right to do so"

Tony then placed an arm around Y/n's shoulder as the two walked together behind Phil.

Tony: "But that doesn't mean you should slack off, okay? If I see you dealing out piss-poor results, that internship is gone"

Y/n: *chuckle* "Then I won't disappoint you, sir"

Tony: "Good, glad we have that settled"

Tony then pats Y/n on the shoulder before walking over to Phil and talking about his vacation.

Over at the main bridge of the Helicarrier, Steve, Bruce, Natasha Romanoff, and Thor are gathered around a table after managing to successfully capture Loki.

Bruce: "He really grows on you doesn't he?"

Steve: "Loki's gonna drag this out so... *looks over at Thor* Thor, what's his play?"

Thor: "He has an army, called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard or any world known and he means to lead them against your people. They will win him the earth and in return, I suspect, for the Tesseract"

Steve: "An army? From outer space?"

Bruce: "So he's building another portal, that's what he needs Erik Selvig for"

Thor: "Selvig?"

Bruce: "He's an Astrophysicist"

Thor: "He's a friend"

Natasha: "Loki has him in some sort of spell, along with one of ours"

Steve: "I want to know why Loki let us take him? He's not leading an army from here"

Bruce: "I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you could smell crazy coming from him"

Thor: "Have care how you speak! Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he's my brother"

Natasha: "He killed 80 people in 2 days"

Thor: "...He's adopted"

Bruce: "I think it's about the mechanics. Iridium, what do they need the iridium for?"

Phil, Tony, and Y/n then walked into the room. Tony and Phil went further in as Y/n hangs back by the door.

Tony: "It's a stabilizing agent. *To Coulson* I'm just saying, pick a weekend and I'll fly you to Portland"

Phil: "Yeah, I'll just..."

Tony: "Keep love alive"

Phil then excused himself as Tony continued walking.

Tony: "It means, the portal won't collapse itself as it did at S.H.I.E.L.D *To Thor* No hard feelings, Point Break. You got a mean swing"

Tony then made his way over to the command panels as he continued explaining.

Tony: "Also, it means that the portal could open as wide and stay open as long, as Loki wants"

He then gestures to the crew that is keeping control of the Helicarrier and began mockingly commanding them.

Tony: "Uhh, Raise the mizzenmast. Jib the topsails"

The crew then stopped whatever they were doing and look over at Tony dumbfounded as he points to a S.H.I.E.L.D crew at the corner.

Tony: "That man is playing Galaga. Thought we wouldn't notice...but we did"

Tony then covered his left eye with his hand and look at one of the panels before giving up confused.

Tony: "How does Fury even see these?"

Maria: "He turns"

Tony: "Sounds exhausting"

Tony then began fiddling with the control pannels as he continues his explanation.

Tony: "The rest of the raw materials, Agent Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. The only major component he still needs is a power source of high energy density"

He then placed a small device secretly on the pannel before concluding his explanation

Tony: "Something to kick-start the cube" 

Maria: "Since when did you become an expert in thermonuclear physics?"

Tony: "Last night. The packet, Selvig's notes, Am I the only one who has done the reading?"

Steve: "Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?"

Bruce: "He would have to heat the cube to 120 million Kelvin just to break through the coulomb barrier"

Tony: "Unless Selvig has figured out a way to stabilize the quantum tunneling effect"

Bruce: "Well, if he could do that he could achieve a heavy Ion fusion in any reactor on the planet"

Tony: "Finally, someone who speaks English"

Steve: "Is that what just happened?"

Tony then made his way over to Bruce and shook his hand

Tony: "Good to meet you, Dr. Banner. Your work on Antielectron collision is unparalleled, and I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster"

Bruce: "Thanks"

Nick Fury then enters the room and clarified the situation for Tony.

Nick: "Dr. Banner is only here, to track the cube. I was hoping you could join him"

Steve: "Let's start with that stick of his. It may be magical but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon"

Steve: "I don't know about that, but it is powered by the cube. And I'd like to know how Loki used it to turn into the two sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys"

Thor: "Monkeys? I do not understand"

Steve: "I do! I understood that reference"

The room then quiets down into an awkward level, causing Y/n to break under the awkwardness.

Y/n: "Well...They surely put the 'air' in Aircraft carrier, amirite?"

Nick: "And who exactly are you? and what are you doing in my ship?"

Y/n: "Uh...I'm uh..."

Tony: "He's my assistant"

All the attention then went to Tony as he said 'assistant'.

Nick: "I find it hard to believe that YOU, would need help from anyone"

Tony: "Yeah, but since I'd be working with a team I might as well get an assistant. Shall we play, Doctor?"

Bruce then leads Tony to his lab as he gestures Y/n to come with him. Y/n excused himself before hurriedly running over to Tony. The crewmember in the corner looked behind him to see if the coast was clear before pulling Galaga up from his work computer and continued playing. 

[Y/n POV]

I was standing inside Dr. Banner's lab as he uses a scanner and scans the Spear for Gamma rays, when I look over at the chart and see it spike up I recorded it in a log.

Bruce: "The Gamma readings are definitely consistent with Selvig's reports on the Tesseract, but it's gonna take weeks to process"

Tony: "If we bypass their mainframe and direct route to the Homer cluster. We can clock this at around 600 teraflops"

Bruce: *chuckle* "All I packed was a toothbrush"

Y/n: "You got to pack?"

Tony then reformat the scanner from a tablet before making his way over towards us.

Tony: "You know, you should come by STARK Tower sometime. Top 10 floors all R&D, You'd love it, it's Candyland"

Bruce: "Thanks, but...Last time I was in New York, I kind of broke, Harlem"

Y/n: "That was you? Wow, no wonder I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night"

Tony: "Well, I promise a stress-free environment, no tension, no surprises"

Tony secretly grabbed a sharp metal rod and used it to poke Dr. Banner's side. When he groaned in pain, Tony went in for a closer look, only for Steve Rogers to come in and stop his antics.

Steve: "Hey!"

Tony: "Nothing?"

Steve: "Are you nuts?"

Tony: "Jury's out. You've really got a lid on it, don't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz? Bongo Drums? Huge bag of weed?"

Steve: "Is everything a joke to you?"

Tony: "Funny things are"

Steve: "Threatening the safety of everybody on this ship isn't funny *To Bruce* No offense, Doc"

Bruce: "It's alright, I wouldn't've come aboard if I couldn't handle pointy things"

Tony: "You're tip-toeing big man, you need to strut"

Steve: "And you need to focus on the problem Mr. Stark"

Tony: "You think I'm not?"

Tony then reached for a bag of blueberries that I had tucked away in the lab, causing me to click my tongue and swear under my breath.

Tony: "Why did Fury call us in? Why now? Why not before? I can't do the equation unless I have all the variables"

Steve: "You think Fury's hiding something?"

Tony: "He's a spy, Captain. He's THE Spy, his secrets have secrets *eats blueberry*  It's bugging those two too"

Steve looked over at me and Rogers as I quickly whipped my head towards my log.

Y/n: "No comment"

Bruce: "Uh...I just wanna finish my work here and..."

Steve: "Doctor?"

Bruce: *sigh* "'A warm light for all mankind' Loki's jab at Fury about the cube"

Steve: "I heard it"

Bruce: "I think that was meant for you"

Dr. Banner gestures to Mr. Stark as he offers Bruce and I a blueberry which we begrudgingly took some.

Y/n: *mutter* "These were supposed to be just mine"

Bruce: "Even if Barton didn't tell Loki about the tower, it was still all over the news"

Steve: "The STARK Tower? That big, ugly..."

Tony: *subtle glare*

Steve: "Building in New York?"

Y/n: *still chewing blueberry* "It's powered by an arc reactor *gulp* Think of it like a technologically advanced generator, only instead of using fossil fuel, it uses a newly discovered element"

Bruce: "It's a self-sustaining energy source, that building will run itself for what? A year?"

Tony: "It's just a prototype. I'm kind of like the only name in clean energy right now, It's why it's getting up"

Bruce: "So why didn't S.H.I.E.L.D bring him in on the Tesseract project? What are they doing in the energy business in the first place?" 

Tony: "I should probably get into that once my decryption program finishes breaking into all of S.H.I.E.L.D's secured files"

Steve: "I'm sorry, did you just say-"

Tony: "J.A.R.V.I.S has been running it since I hit the bridge, in a few hours we'll know every dirty secret S.H.I.E.L.D is trying to hide, Blueberry?"

Steve: "Yet, you're confused about why they didn't want you around?"

Tony: "An intelligence organization that fears intelligence, historically not awesome"

Steve: "I think Loki's trying to wind us up, this is a man who means to start a war and if we don't stay focused he'll succeed" 

Steve then looked over at Me and Bruce to see if we agree.

Y/n: "I think I'll...check on that Homer cluster thing"

Bruce: "Yeah, I think I'll join you on that"

We then removed ourselves between the two and into the back of the lab, where I began inspecting the tablet that Tony used.

Bruce: "So what's your take on all of this?"

Y/n: "No clue, but 1 thing's for sure is that *points to scepter* that spear-thing is bugging me"

Bruce: "How come?"

Y/n: "I don't know if it's alien? It behaves too similarly to the things we humans have. If it's Magic? I'll figure out what makes it tick"

Bruce: "You think you can solve Magic with science?"

Y/n: "I mean, why not? Magic is just science that bends the laws of nature"

I look over at The Scepter intently one more time before going to a codex and recording what was on my log.
