After getting his egg exam by Nurse Joy at the Viridian City Pokemon Center.  Lamdon and Pamela are now traveling through Route 1 making their way to Pallet Town.

"So Landon what kind of Pokemon do you think is going to hatched from the egg?" Pamela asked.

"Hm,  I can't say for sure but maybe it is a new Dragon type or maybe a ghost type," Landon said.

"Well from the egg coloring, I think it's not a ghost, " Pamela said."Though the egg pattern makes me think it a normal type," She stated.

"Well what whatever type I still be happy even if it is a type that I won't specialize in when I open my own gym," Landon replied.

"True you, not one to turn down a Pokemon no matter what, " Pamela said with a nod of agreement.

The rest of the journey to Pallet Town as the duo wonders what new Pokemon are in store for them in the Kanto Region.

Landon and Pamela arrived in Pallet a large building up on a hill.

"The map says that Professor Oak's lab is just up that hill," Pamela said.

"Alright then let's start making our way up there."

"By the way why haven't you brought Saber back out?" Pamela asked.

"I decided to just let him rest in there for a bit," He replied.

Pamela nodded her understanding.

As they arrived at the lab they a large crowd of cheerleaders standing in front.

"Huh?" Landon questioned seeing the crowd.

"Someone popular must be starting their journey today," Panela commented.

"More like an overconfident person who probably paid them," Landon commented.

"Yeah because you sure didn't have a cheerleader," Pameka agreed."So some overconfident and person probably paid them,  because a champion son like you would be expected to have cheering fans but you don't they  definitely were paid."

"Coming through," Landon said walking through the crowd and up the stairs with Pamela.

"At this moment Kanto is strange," Pamela mumbled opening the door.

"Strange?" A voice asked walking towards.

Landon and Pamela glanced over to see a boy around their age with spiky brown hair wearing a purple shirt walking towards them. Landon glanced at him and could already tell this boy was as smug as Kendall.

"Who are two to find Kanto strange?" He asked.

"Ah,  Gary, my grandson  meet Landon and Pamela," An older voice said as Professor Oak walked over towards them."They from the Cailda Region," He said.

"You know our name? " Pamela questioned.

"Oh yes I got a call that you two were coming to Kanto," Professor Oak replied."I take it you came here to get your Pokedexes updated with information on the Pokemon native to Kanto."

"Yes, Professor," Landon replied holding out his Pokedex.

"Yep," Pamela said holding her pokedex out as well.

"Then let's get that taken care of," Professor Oak said taking the two Pokedex as he started walking towards the back room

Landon and Pamela began to follow them until they were stopped by Gary.

"Hey Landon," Gary called out.

"Huh?" Landon asked glancing at Gary.

"Let's battle."

"You want to battle me?" Landon asked.

"If you want to battle you can use the back, "Professor Oak said.

"I will be the referee, " Pamela said.

"Fine a one-on-one battle it is," Landon agreed.

Gary nodded as he along with Landon,  and Pamela headed outside toward the back with the Cheerleaders following.

"Gary,  Gary he the man," The cheerleader cheered.

"Let's go, Sage!" Landon said sending out Budkit.

"Hm, a grass type," Gary said. "Squirtle!" He said to send out a small blue turtle Pokemon.

"This is a one-on-one battle between Landon Knight and Gary Oak," Pamela said.

Gary Oak looked at Landon with a confident smirk.  His Squirtle, ready and poised and ready for battle.

Landon eyes were narrowed in determination as he stared deeply into the eyes of Gary. His Budkit stood ready to prove his strength.

"Let's do this, Squirtle! He Tackle!" Gary commanded, looking determined.

Pamela watched as Squirtle ran and charged at Budkit.

"Budkit,  Dodge and counter with Pound!" Landon said his eyes focused.

Pamela saw Budkit leap out of the way avoiding the incoming tackle. Then in a wide motion, it pounded its bushy tail against Squirtle face causing it to skid back on the ground.

Squirtle!" Gary shouted worried.

Squirtle gets up and rubs its face glaring at Budkit.

"Squirtle! Rapid Spin!" Gary shouted.

Pamela watched Squrtile tucked into its shell,  rapidly spinning as it charged toward Budkit, taking it by surprise and getting hit.

"Budkit,  hang in there and move in close with another Pound!"

Pamela watched Budkit dart forward tail glowing as it closed in the distance and slammed into Squritle with swift motion.

"Squirtle!"

Professor Oak hummed, as he walked into the back watching the match curiously.

Squirtle shakes its head covered in bruises as it attempts to recover from the attack.

"Squirtle!  Use Bubble!" Gary shouted with his fist clenched.

Landon narrowed his eyes as he saw Squritle firing bubbles toward Budkit.

"Another Pound!" Landon command.

Pamela watched as Budkit swiftly moved in the air dodging the bubbles charged towards Squrtile and collided with a powerful pound causing both Pokemon to skid back. The two Pokemon began to pant from the battle and sway.

Landon and Gary watch as Budkit and Squirtle sway and watch as they begin to fall back, leading to Squrtile falling back first and Budkit back a few seconds later.

"Sage, return," Landon said returning Budkit.

"Squirtle and Sage the Budkit are both unable to battle," Pamela announced.

"Return," Gary said returning Squirtle.

"You both did well for your first battle, correct?" Professor Oak said.

"Yes, it was the first battle with Sage but my other Pokemon has battled before against my father, " Ladon said placing Budkit Pokeball on his belt near Saber's Pokeball.

"Yes it does have in your Pokedex two Pokemon registered," Professor Oak said heading Landon his Pokedex.

"Hey Landon next time we battle it be three on three," Gary said."Smell you later," He said walking off with the cheerleaders.

"We should get going as well thank you for the update," Landon said putting away his Pokedex.

"Yes thank you, Professor Oak," Pamela said taking her Pokedex back as well.

"You are both welcome and good luck on your journey, "Professor Oak said.

Landon and Pamela nodded and they headed back toward the front to see Gary drive off with the cheerleaders in the red car leaving behind a trail of dirt as he called out loser to a boy wearing pajamas.

"Yeah, he's just like Kendall maybe worse," Landon said.

"I don't know think Kendall is still worse," Pamela said.

"Maybe, " Landon muttered as he and Pamela walked past the boy making their way toward Route 1 to officially begin the journey in the Kanto Region.

Here we go the third chapter of Landon's adventure aiming to enter the Indigo League. Landon and Pamela meet Professor Oak with Landon having a battle against Gary that ends up in a tie and soon set off to continue the journey when Ash arrives at the lab in pajamas.
