DISTRICT FIVE'S RIC ELEK WON THE GAMES TWENTY THREE years ago, after having built an electronic trap for tributes who dared to come find him. One by one, day after day, more of them fell for his trap, and were electrocuted to death. On the final day of his games, he made his way to the cornucopia before making his final kill.

Three short years later, he had a child named Diora, who became a princess to the people of Panem. As a young girl, Diora couldn't understand the pain her father was going through. She just seen the pretty aspects of being a Victor, such as, the wonderful parties and pretty clothing she was gifted as a child.

As she got older, and neared the time where she was eligible for the reaping, she began to train in secret with her father, just in case. Living in Victor's village kept her away from other children, and they were scarce in Panem so, there wasn't much else to do. Including physical combat, she was taught to rig traps, just like the ones her father had built before her.

At the age of fifteen, Diora was picked to be in the 73rd annual hunger games, much to the dismay of her father, and all in the capitol who loved her. Luckily her mentor was none other than ulric, and she got along with her fellow tribute, who was a boy of eleven years old. They gained the favor of most of panem, and were a fan favorite to win.

Diora protected the boy as long as she could but, on the second week of the games, the pair was ambushed and he was killed. The Elek girl managed to escape but, the guilt from him dying practically incapacitated her. Which, is where the sponsors came in to deliver her water to help her keep going in the least bit.

By the end of the games, there was three left including her but, the two others alive happened to be the very people who killed her friend. In cold blood, live on television, she killed them both with her own two hands. After this, she finally understood why her father was so scarred from the games.

The next year, the games crowned new winners, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. These two got under President Snow's skin so greatly, that unfortunate for past winners, they would be included in the 75th quarter quell. Looking at the odds, it was very possible the father daughter duo would be tributes.

... and things were not in their favor.
