Part 2

SoDale Construction Site:

Time passes frequently as the boys all hold their weight, carrying one set of rocks and stones to another. "This is awesome." Moose comments while carrying a slab in each arm. "Moving rocks beats working out in our crappy weight room."

"Hey, Keller!" One of the jocks calls out to Kevin while all the teens are grouped up. "Looking good, looking buff. We should get you on the team." He suggests, though the sheriff's son looks hesitant at the idea.

"I prefer my contact sports one-on-one, you know like.... boxing." Kevin replies, politely shooting them down while Y/N chuckles as he also rolls up next to them.

"Add that to another one of the most stereotypical things about Kevin Keller." Y/N playfully comments with a suggestive voice, laughing as Kevin lightly strikes him on the shoulder. "Hey, you guys remember that poll about who people at Riverdale wanted the Ghostface killer to take out next?" He then brings up, pulling out his phone. "It's now pretty much become a fandom website."

This sparks the others' attention as most of them pull out their phones as well and goes back to the link from the last message the unknown person sent. It's a very weird website, green color being it's theme, which seems to be praising the serial killer for what he or she is doing. "Crazy, right?" Y/N comments.

"Who would be excited for what's happening?" Archie questions, looking at the website as if everyone who visits it should be sent to the psych ward. "I mean, this guy's killed teens as well."

"And teens are most likely the only ones following that web, it's just a secret part of life." Y/N mentions with a shrug. "It's strange, I know."

The teens all glance at each other before splitting back up to their jobs. Archie, Jughead, and Y/N although having different minds, wonder the same thing, who started that poll in the first place?

"Pretty handy with that wheelbarrow, Archie." Jughead comments, breaking the silence between him and the redhead. "You know, if the whole music thing doesn't pan out, you can always have manual labor as a fallback."

"Don't even joke, I did this all summer long, remember?" Archie brings up with a chuckle, looking forward as he thinks about that possibility. "My dad loves this kind of work, and I love him, but...."

"No, I know. Your dad's path is not for you." Jughead notes with an understanding tone as he glances down. "Trust me, I get it."

"He works his ass off for me, bro. Never asks for anything. Always has my back, even when I mess up." Archie comments with a very appreciative voice. "So, if having his back means I gotta haul some rocks, then bring it on."

"Agreed, your dad's got my back too." Jughead nods as they make it to their stop where Archie unloads the heavy pile of rocks. "More than some people..."

"Exactly."

Riverdale Police Station:

Sheriff Keller, doing what he's always gonna be doing with a serial killer in town, goes over the recent evidence in his office, which he now stays at thanks to his own home proving to be unsafe after the break-in.

His desk's phone then rings, prompting him to immediately answer it on the possible suspicion of it being his two fellow detectives. "Yeah?"

"It's Markus, turns out our theory might be closer to the truth than we thought." The detective reports, much to the Keller's confirmation. "Her only alibi for the nights or days of each murder is that she was either at work, or at home, nothing else."

"Can anyone confirm that?" Keller questions, though according by Markus's words, the answer is probably an obvious negative.

"Only her husband, which would be good enough except for the one thing I keep thinking of." Markus responds, the last comment catching the sheriff's attention.

"What do you mean?"

"The kill methods and the way we discover them feel incredibly different each time." The Detective mentions. "Going by the ones we've discovered so far, half have a clear and simple cause of death. Jason, and Deputy Hanks." He starts with. "Then, there's the ones we see as complete bloody messes. Rose, Mrs. Grundy, it seems like..."

"We might have two separate killers." Keller finishes for the detective, catching on fairly quickly. Could it be true, but if it is....

Their jobs might've gotten more difficult.

SoDale Construction Site:

Night falls as the hard-worked boys step into the trailer, having filled their quota for the day. "Hey, guys, you were a real live saver today, I appreciate it. Hard hats go in the bin, and there's sodas in the fridge." Fred Andrews tells them as they walk past.

"Crap! Hey, guys, I forget my phone." Moose says after checking his pockets, jogging back outside.

Speaking of phones, Y/N's gets a ring and he pulls it out to see that it's coming from Cheryl's number. "Oh, give me a moment." He quickly says to the others before stepping out with a soda in his other hand. "Hey, shift's almost done." He speaks first as soon as he answers.

"Hello, Y/N." Cheryl greets in a rather formal manner, causing Y/N to suspect it must be something important. "Suggestion, red or black?" She randomly queries, causing Y/N to blink.

"What?" Y/N utters before quickly realizing what she's talking about. "Wait, you called me to suggest which dress you should wear?" He questions, wondering why she's asking him of all people.

"Obviously, I didn't call you to propose you sing rated-E hiphop songs at the baby shower." Cheryl sarcastically replies, not necessary, but okay. "Now, your suggestion, please?"

"Um..." Y/N tries finding an answer before a massive spark hissing and bang interrupt him, it's coming from somewhere in the construction site. "I gotta call you back." He quickly tells her before hanging up as the others come out of the trailer to investigate this noise as well. "It came from over here!" He shouts, leading them over to a generator.

When they get there, a truck leaves the scene as they find a beaten up Moose on the ground. "Shit, Moose, you alright?" Y/N quickly asks as they all check up on him. The guy has gotten the absolute shit kicked out of him, he's got a black eye and cut on his chin.

"Stay down, we'll get you some help." Fred tells Moose as one of the boys call 911.

"Who did this to you, Moose?" Jughead asks him as they all glance at the path the unknown truck fled down after whoever in it jumped the guy.

"No clue." Moose shakes his head, still able to talk normal despite what happened. "But they said, as long as we keep working, they're gonna keep coming back." He testifies as Fred stands up before everyone glances at each other, worried about the new situation.

It seems serial killers aren't their only concern now.

Half an Hour Later:

The siren wails as Sheriff Keller's call pulls in as the men sit or stand amongst themselves with most of their hands in their jeans' pockets "What the hell happened?" Keller questions upon noticing the beaten-up generator and kid.

"Moose, over there, he caught a couple of guys working over my equipment with a crowbar and they got the drop on him." Fred testifies to him, nodding over to Moose who has a ice pack on his face.

"Who were they, vandals?" Keller asks, trying to get a glimpse of what might've happened. Fred's mind is very much made up on what happened.

"Cliff Blossom has made it abundantly clear he would love nothing more than to see this whole project go belly-up." Fred tells the sheriff, having no other suspects on who could've ordered those boys.

"I doubt that Blossom's gonna hire some thugs to bust up your site and beat up some teenagers." Keller retorts. During this whole exchange, Y/N once again has his camcorder out, recording the whole exchange.

"Maybe it wasn't him." Archie suggests, standing up as he proposes his out theory on the matter. "I mean, this is Serpent territory, right? Maybe it was them, pissed that they had to leave 'cause of this project."

"The biker gang with a snake as their mascot?" Y/N questions, recognizing the name, and Archie nods. "I never considered they were that hardcore."

"When I worked at the drive-in, the Serpents never bugged me." Jughead quickly chimes in, seemingly very quick to clear their names. Keller considers this guess and turns to Moose.

"You see any snake tattoos, anything on their jackets?" He asks Moose, but the guy shakes his head.

"It happened pretty fast..." Moose responds with a shrug, not having their features in his memory.

"All right, well.... I'll talk to Blossom, but I mean, I don't think we'll get anywhere unless we can ID these guys." The sheriff tells the boys, much to their disappointment and annoyance.

"What?!" Y/N exclaims in shock, secretly eating all of this up. "So, it's a cold case?" He questions, sparking Archie's fury in turn.

"That is such bull, if this was Clifford Blossom asking for help, you would say yes!" Archie angrily brings up to the cop, not taking his answer very well.

"Archie..."

"What, dad? It's true."

"It's also not helping." Fred remarks, calmly giving his son a look that begs him to not earn the team in any more trouble than they're already in. Y/N then turns back to his camera, facing it towards him.

"You heard it here first, Riverdale Police have decided to take a hands-off approach to this event." He whispers to the cam. "This is Y/N from the Blue and Gold, catch you guys later, when there's an update." He then shuts it off, smiling to himself. "I'm getting much better at this reporter talk." He comments at a inappropriate time, turning to everyone staring at his direction.

"Right, guys?"

Pop's: The Next Morning

"Poor Moose, is he okay?" Veronica asks with concern as Jughead tells her and Betty the events of what happened last night.

"His name is Moose, he'll be fine." Jughead humorously replies, and the three share a chuckle before Archie and Y/N walk up and break the mood.

"Dude, what the hell? We've been texting you." Archie chimes in with a frustrated tone as he sits down next to V while Y/N leans onto one seats, the harassment as his dad's workplace has clearly stuck with him.

"Archie, Jughead just old us what happened yesterday." Betty tells him.

"Though I checked out at the words 'construction' and 'site.' Veronnica remarks, earning a look from Y/N.

"You didn't see it on social media? It's blowing up." Y/N mentions to her as he pulls up the YouTube video on his phone, going by the Blue and Gold channel. "A bunch of guys said they're gonna go on a serial harassing spree with Fred's project."

"And since the police won't get involved, we have to do this ourselves." Archie adds, looking to Jughead. "Moose, Y/N, and I are going to the Southside to find those Serpents. You in?"

"Whoa, hey, you didn't say it was the Serpents who beat up Moose." Betty chimes in, to which Jughead lightly scoffs.

"Because we don't know that for a fact." Jughead replies, giving Archie a look.

"Haven't you watched Prom Night? There's a very simple formula, everybody's a suspect." Y/N quips with a shrug, not too bothered by the idea himself. "Besides, we don't exactly have a golden ticket to Clifford's chocolate factory."

"And it's still worth a shot if it might help my dad." Archie mentions with a very determined expression. "Kevin's boyfriend can get us in."

"Get you in where?" Veronica questions while she eats fry, unbothered.

"To some bar where the Serpents hang out." Archie explains, looking at the entire group. "If Moose spots them, we call Sheriff Keller get these goons arrested."

"Archie, Y/N, the Serpents are dangerous. They're drug dealers." Betty brings up in hope of warning them against the plan, causing Jug to raise a brow.

"What? Says who?" Jug questions, taking that statement in a weird way.

"Polly, remember? Trev told us that Jason was dealing drugs? It was for the Serpents." Betty explains, which Y/N picks up on right away.

"And if Jason couldn't, physically or mentally, deliver their little package, who's to say one of them isn't the killer?" Y/N mentions, taking the opportunity to gaslight the four. "Maybe one of them has gotten bloodthirsty."

"Serial killer or not, you and Y/N heard my dad, Jughead." Archie looks to his old buddy with mission-set eyes. "Clifford Blossom is trying to torpedo him. Sheriff Keller basically blew him off, right in front of us, somebody needs to do something." He states, but Jug keeps his eyes downward, prompting the redhead to mentally sigh as he stands up.

"My commenters are practically screaming for justice." Y/N then adds, holding up his camera. "With the situation viral, the police and Mr. Blossom are gonna look really bad in front of the internet and public if we're forced to investigate this ourselves."

"Y/N, going into that bar is a bad idea." Jughead insists, seemingly taking Betty's side on the matter.

"Jughead, are you going with us or not?" Archie asks him as he puts on his jersey. Jughead stays silent however and looks back down, much to his friend's extreme disappointment. "At least one person has my back." He bitterly mutters as he and Y/N then leave the building.

The two situations have now split the group.

Whyte Worm:

Y/N, Kevin, Moose, and Archie pull up to the bar with the the mentioned boyfriend named Joaquin DeSantos leading them inside. "Jughead was right, this is such a bad idea." Y/N comments while playing with his camcorder as a weird atmosphere creeps in.

"We'll be fine." Archie mutteringly replies, though Y/N scoffs, not so much a believer in that statement.

"Yeah, the gay best friend, a film-horror-freak that works for the Blue and Gold, as well as a Highschool Jock, going to confront a biker gang, what could go wrong?" Y/N sarcastically remarks, giving the redhead a look.

Joaquin then turns around to face the group, breaking their banter. "Play it cool, just like we said." He strongly instructs them, and most people look at Archie when he says that. "Keep eye-contact to a minimum."

"And Moose, if you see the guys that jumped you, Y/N catches their faces and we leave, before calling Kevin's dad." Archie then mentions to his fellow teammate, and Moose nods. The guy's face is still scratched up, but to his credit, he still wants to go through with this.

They then enter the bar, keeping their backs straight as they face only forward at Joaquin's back, though Kevin's eyes find themselves looking a little more downward. Half of the pair can't help but feel like they stand out, not because of their age, but because of Archie's jersey as it's colors shine more brightly in comparison to the others' more darker clothes.

"Moose, anything?" Archie queries as they pause at a slight aquarium that shows off snakes instead of fish, freaking a few of the people out.

"Not yet, not that I see." Moose shrugs with a shake of his head. During which, Y/N's starting to feel some pointed stares at their direction, which doesn't exactly help their little 'spy' mission.

"We're all gonna die." Kevin mutters with an anxious voice as he stares at the snake, it's not that hard to believe, to be honest.

A couple minutes later, the five all decide to keep themselves occupied as they continue their lookout. Kevin and Joaquin pool while Moose, Y/N and Archie just stand their eyeballing everyone. "Pay up." The biker demands when he wins another game.

"I'm gonna get this back, right?" Kevin questions with sliver of hope as he hands him the cash, though something tells him, he most likely won't.

Archie and Y/N then notice Moose giving one of the bikers a very long stare. "Is that one of them?" Archie queries as they both follow his gaze. The guy looks very tough, so it wouldn't be impossible if it was.

"I can't tell. He looks kind of familiar." Moose responds with a calculating look, which Y/N also feels like as well. This prompts Archie to then march over to the biker, causing everyone to immediately drop what they're doing.

"What.... are you doing?" Y/N quickly questions him as everyone walks up before he does something stupid, which they fail at, as Archie calls out to guy and lightly pulls him around.

"What? You got a death wish?" The biker asks him, looking at him with a very bothered and menacing look. If this wasn't a bad idea when they walked it, then it definitely turned into one now.

"Archie, back off." Joaquin warns the redhead, to which Y/N taps on his shoulder, strongly encouraging him to do so. Sadly, Archie has justice on his mind and doesn't look like he'll be taking that advice.

"What is this?" The biker glances at all of them, taking an intimidating step towards the music player despite the height gap between the two.

"You like beating up teenagers?" Archie interrogates, escalating things to a level that they don't need to reach. The Biker just ends up chuckling in his face.

"This isn't the first time one of you Bulldogs has come in here, looking to cause trouble!" The biker growls before aggressively shoving Archie against the group. This causes shit to hit the fan as Archie retaliates, prompting some other Serpents to grab the other kids as well. Y/N breaks out of his innocent persona for a quick second and socks one of the bikers that touch him, but then gets manhandled by a couple others who get the drop on him and throw him onto the pool table, same with Archie.

"Hey! That's enough, Mustang. Let them go." A big shot, the leader of the gang, loudly orders. Mustang roughly lets Archie go, as well as the other tough guys who then slowly take their grip off of the other teens. "I'll take it from here." He tells him, giving the teens a glare, which is followed by a surprised look from the boys who recognize the man.

F.P Jones. Jughead's father.
