*Gory descriptions

Cooper House:

Betty and offered Cheryl a mani-pedi. To which Cheryl graciously accepted. Betty sits on her bed while Cheryl admires herself in the mirror for a brief moment.

"You're room's so sweet." Cheryl comments, complimenting Betty's aesthetic. She then gets to work on the girl, applying some brush first.

"It's... too pink." Betty complains, glancing around. Looks like it's grown a little too much on her. "Doesn't feel right anymore.

"No, I like how girly it is." Cheryl notes, though keeping her eye on Betty. "Mine is too. You should come over and see it some time. But, just you, not Veronica. I mean, she must be evil incarnate if even you won't have her as a friend."

That last comment causes Betty to think. A friend, she still wants that, why did she even do this in the first place? What is she getting payback for?

"And on the subject of being friends. Betty, I'm sorry I've been such a witchy witch to you." Cheryl apologizes. Betty stares back at her, making sure she's serious. "After Polly and Jason's epic demise, I... was angry, at everyone, but I took it out on you which was super unfair. Especially since, in a way, it's kind of like we both lost siblings.

"How uh, how is Polly?" Cheryl questions in a curious way. "Do you think she knows what happened to Jason, that he was murdered?"

"I..." Betty shakes her head. "I'm not sure."

"What do you think went down between them?"

"I don't know."

"What do your parents say?"

"About Jason and Polly?" Betty queries and Cheryl nods, why on earth is she suddenly asking all these questions? "Not a lot."

"Same." Cheryl mentions. "I keep thinking that maybe Jason said something to her, or she said something to him. I mean, didn't they have a big fight?"

Why is she asking all these questions?

She's trying to demean your family!

She wasn't sincere with her apology!

Liar.

"Why are you asking me so many questions about Polly?" Betty interrogates, with a black expression. Cheryl shares it, glaring back. "Cheryl?"

"Because, you dumb cow, someone shot my brother and has been calling me nonstop, just getting kicks out of it all!" Cheryl angrily shares with her. "And I think it was your crazy, tweaked-out sister."

Obviously she was deceiving you.

Kick her out.

She only wanted information.

Rip her to shreds!

Cheryl turns around, facing the mirror again as if nothing happened, and that's what really sets Betty off.  "Get out of my house."

"Not until you tell me-"

"Cheryl get the hell out of my house before I kill you!"

Cheryl freezes, the shock of Betty's change of expression robbed her of speech.

She left fairly easily.

Suburbs:

Archie walks to his house where he finds a familiar face sitting on his porch. And he doesn't look like it's for a social call. Jughead's decided that since no one knows about his 'friend's' little secret, nor talk about it, he will.

"Jug? What's up?" Archie asks, glancing outside when he hears a ruffle.

"What's up is I saw you Archie, in the music room." Jughead tells Archie, granting Y/N's request to keep him out of it. Archie now looks at him with alarm. "With Grundy-"

"Keep your voice down, my dad's inside." Archie pleads, not wanting anyone to eavesdrop on them.

"I'm trying to help you, dude. I'm trying to be your friend here, even though we're not anymore." Jughead acidly mentions, not willing to take any interruptions. "How long, you and Grundy?"

Archie swallows, guess there's no point in trying to hide it from him. "Since this summer."  He reveals. He can already sense the disproval coming from Jughead. "I like her."

Jughead scoffs at that. "So, I'm guessing she's the reason you've been acting weird since summer?" He interrogates, and Archie shrugs in defeat.

"One of them."

"One of them?" Jughead repeats. "There's more?"

Archie licks his lips anxiously, here it goes... "We were at Sweetwater River on July Fourth." He reveals but Jughead doesn't get it yet. "We heard a gunshot, I-I think Jason was murdered there."

Jughead is now agape. "Dude, you have to tell somebody-"

"I can't!" Archie protests, that could literally mean jail. "And neither could you, if people find out about this-"

"A kid is dead, Archie!" Jughead brings up with a growl. "His killer is willing to kill again, and you're worried about some.... cougar!"

"Don't call her that!" Archie demands, offended. "Okay, she's not like that, she cares about me."

"Stab in the dark, I'm guessing she cares more about herself." Jughead accuses, glaring at Archie. "She's the one who's telling you not to say anything, right?"

Archie keeps his mouth closed, answer enough. Jughead sighs. "Look, I saw you guys, she's messing with you man, and she's messing with your mind."

"What the hell do you know about it Jughead?!" Archie spits at him, not taking these accusations very lightly. "Or about me even?"

"Nothing, but I knew this guy once. Archie Andrews" Jughead says, keeping his head down in disappointment. "He wasn't perfect but, he always tried to do the right thing at least." He mourns before he walks away.

"Jug." Archie stops him by forcibly gripping his arm. "If you tell anyone about this..."

Jughead stares at the guy as if he's lost his mind. "Or what?" He questions, not intimidated by his empty threat. "What are you gonna do?"

Archie waits too long to answer, and the front door opens to show Fred Andrews coming to greet them both. "Hey Jug, coming in?" He offers. "I got takeout from Pop's."

"He was just leaving." Archie answers for him, keeping his glare on the kid. Jughead shakes his head disappointingly and walks off.

In the background, Ghostface hides behind the wall of the house, leaving now that their tense conversation is over.

Riverdale High: Student Lounge

The next day, the characters of our story hang out at the lounge. Betty has now made up with Veronica and has agreed that a friend is better than a boyfriend. Y/N is now waiting patiently for the pep rally. The only thing left that hasn't been resolved yet, is the matter between Jughead and Archie.

"-And Sheriff Keller's grilling me." Reggie complains to his fellow jocks about his recent interrogation as Archie walks in. "Mantle the magnificent, because I'd want Blossom dead when he was like the only good quarterback."

"I don't know Reggie, it would definitely increase your IQ." Y/N debates for the fun of it. "Jason was the captain of the team, something I'm sure your parents would be proud if you got."

"Nah man, dad wants me to take over the family business, cars and stuff." Reggie defends himself, playing along. "Though I guess I wouldn't complain if I got it, would I? Matter of fact, where were you on July fourth?"

"I was at home sleeping like a baby." Y/N says, shrugging. "I may have briefly known Jason in the past, but I don't have a motive. You see, it's the motive that's the real mystery, not the who. Just ask I Know What you Did Last Summer and every other Scream movie."

"Speaking of mysteries, I should've sent the cops to you Moose, because what exactly were you and Kevin doing at the River, huh?" Reggie questions before turning the mentioned gay-proud teen. "Or does being the sheriff's son give you a free pass, Keller?"

"He's just being a blowhard Kev." Betty comfortably whispers to Kevin who glares at Reggie.

"I don't care what he says."

"And what exactly makes you or someone like Chuck off the hook, Reg?" Y/N queries, giving him a challenging smirk. "Because last I remember him and Jason had a huge fight before summer."

"Because Y/N, a jock wouldn't kill another jock, right?" Reggie looks to his buddies and they all shake their heads. "No, let's be honest, isn't it always some.... spooky, scawny, pathetic internet troll too busy writing his manifestos to get laid."

That way too specific descriptions points a very clear accusation towards Jughead, who tries to ignore the jocks. Meanwhile Archie struggles to get the vending machine to work.

"Some smug, moody, serial killer fanboy freak...." He then points to the obvious person he's picking at. "Like Jughead. What was it like, Suicide Squad? When you shot Jason? You didn't do stuff to the body did you? Like, after?"

"It's called necrophilia, Reggie." Jughead reminds him with a cheeky look, and Y/N chuckles. "Can you spell it?"

"Come here, you little-!" Reggie doesn't take that too well and jumps over to wipe the floor with him, causing Archie and Y/N to come to his defense, shoving him back.

"Shut the hell up, Reggie." Archie barks at him.

"Yeah, we were just having fun Reggie, don't be such a wet blanket." Y/N says with a mockingly, sad tone.

"Boys?" Veronica calls out nervously, as everyone notices the tension building up in the room.

"Fuck you, Y/N. I'm getting sick of your horror-obsessed tongue." Reggie spits back at him. He then turns to the other defender. "And you Archie, what do you care?"

"Nothing, just leave him alone." Archie demands and Reggie looks at him amused.

"Holy crap, did you three all kill him together? Danny Darko and Roman Bridger Wanna-Be being the masterminds while you were the muscle?" Reggie guesses again, coming up with more crazy theories. "Wow, you guys really are planning to make a Scream movie, aren't you?"

Archie shoves Reggie again and the latter responds by charge him into the vending machine's glass, cutting Archie's jacket and back. The second Reggie moves back to punch, Y/N turns him around and socks Reggie in the face, the two scuffle to the floor.

The three fight for so long, the other kids aren't able to break it up and security has to be called in.

Andrew house:

The fight left a pretty nasty bruise on Archie's eye, thanks to Reggie who's punch managed to knock him, or so the hospital told him. He and Y/N were able to get a few hits of their own, but that doesn't mean they haven't earned themselves detention from the whole ordeal.

"Woah..." Fred voices, noticing the purple mark on his son's face. "I hate to ask this, but did you get it in a fight with Jughead?"

"No, it was with Reggie, Y/N came to my rescue, but it was still pretty bad." Archie tells him, he then decides that maybe, for once in his life, he should turn to his father for help. "It's a long story. Jughead and I, we were disagreeing about a girl.

"Hm..."

"Because there's this girl-"

"They're usually is." Fred comments with a nod.

"But's not about me and Jughead, it's about me and this girl." Archie ensures, keeping the obvious controversial part out. "I think we should do something, it's the right thing dad.  But the girl says that, if we do, or if I do this thing, it will ruin what we have, and that doesn't make any sense, don't it?" He mutters, pressing the icepack against his bruise.

"You know, this is the most honest talk we've had in a while." Fred mentions in a slightly humorous way. "And I'm glad that you wanted to do the right thing, I can see that, even under the shiner."

Fred gives his son a sincere look. "Archie, if you know it's the right thing to do, even though it's tough, even though it might cost you, you gotta do it."

Archie nods, he's right.

It's that simple.

Riverdale High: Football Field

The band plays, the cheerleaders warm up, and Jughead hides next to the bleachers because what else would he do? Archie, black eye and all, knows what he's gotta do, so he's gonna do it.

On the bleachers, Y/N has his camcorder out, recording the entire stage in a perfect view as he sits on a bench very close to the exit of the bleachers, Kevin right next to him.

"Man, this is perfect." Y/N excitedly voices to Kevin. "Three of the cutest girls in high school dancing as cheerleaders, a cover of my favorite song, and the perfect view of it all from here, this shit is gonna rock!"

Kevin laughs, and Y/N turns to him. "What about you? You're gonna be eyeing any certain jocks?"

"Ah, there it is, gay jokes." Kevin sarcastically remarks, giving Y/N a sassy look and the guy nods. Still true. "Very original."

"Oh, bite me."

"No thanks, you're not my type." Kevin humorously replies, and Y/N gives him a look.

"Wha- See? now you just made a gay joke." Y/N brings up, and the two laugh. Once Y/N sees Betty, Archie and the others he recognizes, he puts his camera on them.

On the field, Archie jogs over to his.... he doesn't know quite yet, Ms. Grundy, she deserves to know ahead of time what he's going to do. "I'm gonna come clean with Weatherbee and Keller." He tells her, as expected, she's immediately alarmed. "I was there, I heard the gunshot, and I have to own it."

"Please." Grundy talks over him. "Slow down..."

"I'm gonna do it tomorrow." Archie doesn't let her stop him from speaking. "If you wanna come with me, then we can figure that out, if not, I'll respect that and I'll do everything I can to keep you out of it."

Grundy pleadingly shakes her head at him, but Archie's set on this decision. "I'm sorry Ms. Grundy, but I have to." He feels someone staring at then and turns to see Jughead watching although he turns away when Archie glances at him.

With nothing else needing to be said, Archie leaves Grundy and goes to apologize to his friend. "Girl trouble, you?" Jughead questions in a snarky tone.

"Grundy and me, we're telling Weatherbee, at least I am." Archie earnestly tells Jughead with a genuine voice, and Jughead nods, believing him. "And also, I didn't mean all that crap I said to you.... I'm sorry."

Jughead nods. "It's cool." He forgives him. They stand there awkwardly for a few seconds and Jughead realizes he's waiting for something. "We're not gonna hug in front of this whole town." He shoots Archie down and the two laugh. "So why don't we just do that, bro thing, where we nod like douches and mutually suppress our emotions."

"Yeah." Archie agrees, doing just that. "But as friends, right?"

"To be discussed, over many burgers, and many days." Jughead agrees to the plan, nodding after each comma. Archie leaves him with a happy grin, and in about five seconds, bumps into someone else, Betty Cooper.

"My gosh, Arch.... your eye." Betty quickly notices, rubbing a tiny bit before Archie pulls his head back. His fellow jocks then all collectively push him to get ready for the big banner break-through.

As Principal Weatherbee approaches the stage, Y/N sees Kevin walking off somewhere else which gives him his cue, he stealthily leaves the bleachers, taking his bag with him.

He's got a call soon...

_____________________

Robert makes it to the football field, he can see the lights of the pep rally shine behind the bleachers, looks like his buyer was right, no one should notice them.

The Sugarman is still able to hear the mic from here. "To kick off this prep rally, I'd like to hand it over to our very own Mayor Mccoy." Weatherbee introduces, and the crowd claps as he gives her the microphone.

"Thank you Principal Weatherbee. It is heartening to see so many of you here even in weather like this. But a lack of heart, and school spirit has never been the Riverdale way." She says and the crowd cheers to that. "Tonight's pep rally isn't like the others we've had in the past, and we shouldn't pretend that it is. Which is why, I would like to dedicate this evening to the memory of one of our brightest.... Jason Blossom, we're with him tonight."

After that slight memorial speech, Mccoy moves on. "Now, please, join me in welcoming to the field our very own River Vixens and their special guest stars, my daughter Josie and her Pussycats!" She announces and brings the band to the stage and the crowd cheers again.

Back at the back, Robert parks his car and casually looks for where his client should be, and that's when he gets a call from that similar number. "Hello."

"H-Hey, man so.... do you see me?" The caller asks and Robert looks at where he should be, but isn't there.

"No, I don't." Robert tells the caller. "Where are you?"

"Thank you for asking the real question." The stranger oddly compliments, his voice now becoming sterner. "I'm afraid you won't figure that out until it's too late.

"What-"

"Didn't you see the news, Mr. Phillips?" The stranger scolds him, preventing him from talking over. "There's a killer on the loose, you need to be careful. Sadly, they haven't seen blood since summer, and now.... they're very hungry.

Robert feels chills once he immediately realizes, the call was all a ruse to lure him here. "What the fuck do you want?"

"To see what your insides look like!" He says, and Robert almost retches at the thought. "Maybe if your clients were more careful sharing their phone numbers, you would've been off my radar, but instead... I'm afraid someone's gonna die now.

Then the call hangs up, and Robert runs back to his car. By now, the song has started.

https://youtu.be/fdGLO19iAW8

The teacher surprisingly makes it to his car without incident, but he sees a note stuck to his driver seat window. Which slightly confuses him.

Fell for it, dumbass!

The second the chorus starts, Ghostface pops up like a ghost and stabs Robert in the back. He screams, but the trumpets and drums drown out the noise, then the killer turns around and carves into his stomach and digestive system.

The knife stabs again, and again, and again, each emits a scream, Mr. Phillips eventually collapses to the ground on his bottom. He watches the killer looking down at him, and glances down to see, to his absolute horror, his own guts covering his lap.

Then, as the second verse starts, Ghostface shakes their head at the dying Robert, then pulls put his voice changer, bringing it up to where his mouth seems to be. "You should never involve yourself in drugs, Sugarman." The killer raises their knife....

"Because the thing about drugs is.... they kill!"

The slash to his neck finishes Robert Phillips, and Ghostface wipes the blood off his knife. Then, takes the body away.

The chorus plays again.

After the song ends, Cheryl comes up to the stage and hugs Josie, while Coach Clayton comes up and takes the microphone. "Alright ya'll ready? There's a mix in the north, put your hands together for Riverdale Bulldogs!"

As soon as he announces them, Cheryl sees someone in the crowd, Black cloak, Ghostly mask, all stained with blood. She's.... seen them before. Noticing her eye on them, they creepily wave their bloody hand at her.

Hello. Cheryl.

He squealed like a pig...

YOU'LL NEVER BE RID OF ME!

The tears rush back, a panic attack. Cheryl runs off the stage, confusing everyone who watches her suddenly bolt it down the field and away from everyone else, especially the jocks who wonder why nobody is cheering.

Betty and Veronica share a look, and they go after her...

____________________________

Veronica walks in the girl's locker room to see Cheryl, a sobbing mess. She quietly sits next to her on the bench and although her back is turned, Cheryl senses her there.

"Jason.... He's gone." She gets out in between the lack of breathes.

"I know..."

"I saw him...." Cheryl voices and Veronica looks at her confused. "I saw this... man, or.... woman in a cloak, and a ghost mask." She describes the figure. "He.... was covered in blood, and... I think they were...."

Jason's killer.

"I'm so sorry..." Veronica softly says to Cheryl with sympathy. "I wish I knew what to do to get them out of your head."

"You don't..." Cheryl sniffs. "You don't understand..... They're always following me." She then reveals. Veronica mouths that to herself, what does that mean?

Then, as soon as Betty walks in, from Cheryl's own locker, her phone rings. Veronica, knowing this is a bad time, goes to decline and put it on silent but stops when she sees the contact name, Jason.

Veronica and Betty share another look, and decide to answer it, only to give this caller a piece of their mind. "Hello, again.

Jason's voice.

Betty's own words fail to leave her mouth.  "I'm sorry to crash your party, but I need to remind you that no matter how much you cry like a whiny brat, you will never get your brother back."

Veronica forcibly takes the phone from Betty. "Listen, asshole-"

There's a click from the other line before the caller cuts her off.

"No, you listen you little bitch! You bark at me again and I'll gut you next, understand!?" Ghostface's voice threatens her, and she can tell that he means it.

Betty then takes the phone back. "Why do you keep calling Cheryl?"

"Because I can~" The stranger gleefully exclaims. "I'm the one who runs this show, I make the rules, and I'm the main character. You want to stop me? Then come and find me." He challenges before hanging up the phone himself.

Veronica, Betty and Cheryl all look at each other. The blond gripping the phone with an intense anger.

Challenge accepted.

With the pep rally cut short thanks to the current Ghostface encounter, Jughead and Archie take up their offer and head to Pop's, on their way their they bump into Y/N who throws rocks into some random area in the shadows.

"Hey, you alright?" Archie stops and checks on his buddy once noticing his sour expression.

"Yeah..." Y/N mumbles unconvincingly, throwing another rock. "Thanks to whoever just gave Chery lips a dose of Freddy Kruger's nightmares, my disappointment is now immeasurable, and my day is ruined, so..."

Jughead and Archie glance at each other and shrug. "Well, if you want, we were heading over to Pop's if you want to make better memories."

"Yeah, memories of this guy adding more weight to his 'athletic' body." Jughead jokingly pokes at him.  Archie puts a hand over his heart.

"Dude-"

Y/N chuckles at them. "Sure why not."

They enter and notice Betty and Veronica at another table, so they awkwardly try to avoid eye contact. Surprisingly, Betty smiles and beckons over. "You guys want to join us?"

The three glance at each other, slightly surprised, but they can't say no. However, when Jughead and Archie sit down, Y/N notices a problem.

"Uh... There's no room." He embarrassingly realizes. Veronica sighs, but stands up and sits him down to where she originally was, before suddenly putting herself on his lap. "What-"

"That's no problem." Veronica informs him, mimicking a familiar line. Betty sits agape while Jughead and Archie chuckle.

To someone on the outside peering in, it would've looked like there were five people in that booth, that I was there. And I can tell you, really, there were only four. A blond girl, a raven-haired girl, the luckiest redheaded boy in the universe, and a Y/H haired boy who wore a charming masquerade.

For one shiny moment, we were just kids, those bright neon lights of Pop's keeping the darkness at bay....

_______________________

Giving way, as all nights must, to a morning of reckoning.

Archie's about to enter the principal's office, but Weatherbee and the sheriff open the door and walk past. He awkwardly watches them leave, guess he'll have to wait.

The two enter a classroom, consisting of students, Betty Cooper, Jughead Jones, Kevin Keller, Veronica Lodge, Y/N L/N, and Cheryl Blossom. The last one stands up, giving them a knowing look.

"You're here for me, aren't you?" Cheryl asks, expecting this to happen. "Because of the autopsy?"

The other students look at her confused. "We don't need to do this front of your classmates, Cheryl."

"It's alright Principal Weatherbee." Cheryl assures him, reaching into her bag. "I'll find out soon enough."

"Now, that won't be necessary-" Keller promises the Blossom girl, but what she pulls out silences him and the entire class.

A Ghostface mask.

As shocking as seeing that item was, they were nothing compared to the secrets that Jason's body had given up during its autopsy.

That Jason didn't die on July 4th as we believed, but over a week later.

(A/N) And now, we get to the investigation part of the season. I was honestly surprised at how much attention this got, and I'm glad people are enjoying it.  Also, it case it wasn't clear, Robert's body is being hidden from the police.

Plz vote if you enjoyed, and I would really appreciate any comments about this crossover. I'll see you next chapter/episode.
