[I changed the titles because since I was doing it by the lyrics of the song, that means I'd have to keep repeating and repeating titles and I didn't want to do that.
so, instead, the lyrics of the song will still be below]
"like a river, like a river, shut your mouth and run me like a river."

Journal Entry #528
"It's been eight months and he still talks about her like she put the stars in the sky. She really meant something to him."
- She ruined him.

"So, class, what I'm trying to say is that..." The teacher's voice was blocked out of my mind and faded away, as I slipped into one of my daydreams.
"Kotabug, let's go to the river!" Lucas shouted, shooting me a small smile.
I never could say no to going to the river, so I hurried and slipped my bathing suit on, running to meet him outside. It was a hot and humid summer day, as usual in Tulsa. Lucas and I arrived and our bare feet burned against the blazing bridge.
Lucas muttered a few curse words as we hobbled quickly across the bridge to a shady spot. I set out everything, a blanket, some food, and sunscreen. Lucas and I are so pale, a ghost would be jealous, so let's just say it's not good if we get burnt.
I heard Lucas chuckle and snapped my head up to see him giving me a devilish smirk. My eyes traveled up his arm to a.... rope swing.
"You thinking what I'm thinking?" He asked, a thrill of excitement shot through his voice and it landed on me, making me jump up in excitement.
"You probably have to be the most non-influential brother ever." I giggled, getting a hold of the thick, white rope.
He shrugged. "Hey, what are twin brothers for?"
He got behind me and put his hand gently on my shoulders. "On the count of three, swing and jump!"
I rolled my eyes. "I know how to do this, Lucas."
"One, two, THREE!"
I swung in the air, the summer breeze greeting me with a smack in the face. Once I got as high as I could in the air, I released my grip on the rope and raised my arms out, as if to soar like an eagle.
I kept my eyes closed and BAM! My body slammed against the cool water, a tingling sensation spreading throughout my limbs. I lifted my head up and gasped for air, giving Lucas a thumbs up.
The water cooled my body in a way ice cream never could. The river was my favorite spot to go, no matter what the season and nothing could ever stop Lucas and I from not going.
"Miss Blue! Miss Blue, are you paying attention?" Mrs. Townes voice snapped me out of my heavenly thinking, bringing me back to the reality of hell.
"S-sorry." I stuttered, feeling my cheeks getting warm.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and glanced around to find a giggling Steve. I rolled my eyes. "Oh, don't even start, Yellow Brick Road."
He narrowed his eyes at me and closed his mouth real tight to where I couldn't see his teeth, making me laugh. "Hey, Steve, could you tell Soda I'm sorry? I didn't know what I said would make him that pissed off."
Steve furrowed his eyebrows. "So that's why he was in a bad mood all day. What the hell did you say?"
"All I asked him was how he still managed to stay with Sandy all these years after all she's done to him."
A grin curled up at the end of his lips and he waved his hand in dismissal. "Oh, don't worry about it. Ole Soda will get over his pity party soon. Everyone tells him that."
I raised my eyebrows. "Y'all don't like Sandy either?"
He started laughing so loud, the teacher yelled at him to be quiet. "No one and I mean no one likes that broad. If you knew how many nights she left Soda crying, you'd dislike her as much as us."
I shook my head. "But, why does he keep running back to her? It doesn't make any sense."
Steve shot me a sad smile. "When you love someone, it doesn't matter how toxic they are, you'll still love them no matter what they do."
I returned a smile and twisted back around in my desk, looking to find that Cherry was watching us the whole time, a cheerful grin on her face.
I'm never going to live this one down.
"Oh, you're finally talking to Greasers now! I'm so happy!" Cherry gushed, making me groan and roll my eyes in annoyance.
"They still get on my nerves though, so don't get your panties all in a twist." I replied as she started snickering.
We waved to each other goodbye and headed off to our next class. I headed in science and was surprised to find Two-Bit already at his desk.
"You're here early."
He shrugged. "I figured the more I keep being late and putting off my work, the longer I'll stay in this seventh circle of hell."
I started giggling. "You just now realized that?"
"Hey," He defended, "I'm not exactly the brightest crayon in the box."

The door jingled as I entered the DX and the only sound I could make out was the faint singing of Elvis in the background.
I quietly followed Elvis's voice each step of the way, the music getting louder and louder with each step I took. I stopped once I got to the garage, smiling as I found Soda under a car working.
He didn't know I was there, so I stood there, watching as he repeated the same steps. He got frustrated and I could hear him whisper a string of cuss words at the car, making me chuckle.
He slid out from under the car and once he saw me, his expression changed to guilt. His face and hands were covered in grease and he quickly grabbed a towel to wipe off. He walked over to me and shot me a shy smile.
"I'm sorry about the other day, KoKo-Puffs. I hope you can forgive me. It's just.... everyone always asks me that and it gets on my nerves. They don't know how I feel."
I nodded my head, understanding every word he said. "I'm just glad you forgave me. I don't think I could stand not being able to yell rude remarks at you everyday."
His infamous grin came back to his tan face, making me grin also. He had one of those contagious grins and personalities. It was one of the things that made Soda charming.
"Well, since I acted like a jerk yesterday, I figured I'd take you out to the river tonight." Soda spoke, watching to see how I'd react.
"I'd have to sneak out, but you know I can't pass up an offer to go there." I smiled, thinking back to my daydream earlier.
"Good, the gang's gonna be there too. I hear they have this rope swing."
Oh no.
