Chapter 7
Roman's POV:
I love this house so much! I jumped up and down in my room, trying to contain my excitement. If I get too excited, sad, or angry, I turn into a puppy. I know, weird, but that's how I work.
Oh, but I just love this house! I love the colors, the room, the people, the scenery, the-
I felt a tingling sensation in my abdomen. Oh no.
I yipped as I grew smaller. I closed my eyes tightly until the tingling went away.
I opened my eyes and, sure enough, I was a German Shepard puppy. This is fine, I'm okay, I just have to wait it out, which is usually twenty minutes or less.
I sighed and walked over to my bed, jumped on top and lied there. But after about three minutes, there was a knock at my door.
"Roman, the food's ready."
Virgil. I quickly dove under my pillows, hoping he wouldn't find me.
"Roman?"
I whimpered, I didn't mean too, but apparently, he heard me. I wasn't even that loud.
"I'm coming in, okay?"
He sounded so concerned.
Virgil's POV:
I slowly opened Roman's door, slightly worried. More like overly worried. I walk in, seeing nobody, which put me on edge.
"Roman?"
Suddenly, the pillows moved. I slowly walked over, my ears twitching madly.
I uncovered the pillow slowly. I gasped at the puppy that was curled up and backed away. Dogs are trouble, dogs don't like you, dogs hurt-
The puppy started whimpering. I panicked, "N-No no, it's okay, don't cry..." I slowly made my way over, still wary of it.
The puppy whimpered again and I flinched. I took a deep breath and sat at the edge of the bed.
"Hey, puppy..." I said. The puppy slowly got up and walked over to me. I held my breath and screwed my eyes shut.
I felt a weight on my lap. I opened my eyes and the puppy was laying on my lap. I smiled slightly and cautiously pet them.
"You're cute... I wonder what gender you are..." I questioned, mostly to myself.
"Alright, I don't know if this will work but, bark once if you're a girl, bark twice if you're a boy." The puppy yipped twice.
"I guess you're a boy then," I chuckled. His tail wagged endlessly. I sighed, remembering I still have to find Roman.
"You're Roman's pet, right? I have to get him for dinner, I guess he went out for a walk." I sighed. The pup's ears flattened. I pet him absentmindedly.
"I guess I should give you a name since I don't see a name tag, Roman should get you one. You're Roman's pet and he acts princely, so I'll call you..." I thought for a moment, the pup looking up at me.
"King." He yipped happily and held his head high. I chuckled, "King it is." Suddenly, he jumped off my lap and ran out the open door.
"King!" I yelled, fixing my beanie and running down the hall after him. I skidded into the living room, I lost him. I groaned and put my head in my hands.
"Hey, Virge." I jumped and turned around. Roman stood there, fixing his hat.
"Hey Ro, have you seen King?" I asked, he looked confused.
"Who's King?" I blushed.
"I uh, I named your puppy King," I muttered, he smiled.
"Oh, I've been thinking of a name for him, thank you! He's back in my room." He beamed, I nodded and grinned.
"No problem."
"There you guys are!" We jumped at Patton's loudness.
"Get in here and eat!"
