Harden's P.O.V.
"What the fuck do you mean you can't find her!" I yelled at my men, "Where the fuck could she go?" I hadn't slept a wink since I found out last night, "Did you fucking check her house?"
Hunter and Vince kept quiet as they watched ream out our team, I began pacing infront of their lineup. Simon shook in his place, "W-We did," He answered, "Ross and Archer don't know where she is, and the girl at the gas station didn't help much." Girl at the gas station?
I stopped pacing infront of them, "What?" My head snapped to look at him, "What did you just say?"
"I-I" He stuttered before taking a deep breath in, "Our team searched everywhere Boss, we had a small lead with that gas station employee but she wasn't much help. All she said was that she gave her water and some food until another girl came to get her." Another girl? "That's it."
"Another girl?" Who could be helping her? I rack my brain trying to think of who might. have done so. "Another girl?"
"It's Bea," Vallie said firmly as she walked through the door. waving. photos in the air. I had sent her in to question the girl one more time. I didn't trust these fuckers to get anything done anyways, taking the photos from her, I frantically go through each and every one of them.
"Holy shit," I whispered, the CCTV camera had got their faces at the right angle. "It is fucking her." But how is this possible? She was the one who helped us get her in the first place. Ross made us coordinate with her when it came to kidnapping her, so why is she helping her escape now?
"I guess guilt got the best of her." Vallie sighed crossing her arms, 'I have seen them around campus, they were always connected by the hip."
"I guess," But where could she take her?
"Did you check her apartment?" I asked Simon, who shook his head. I have to do everything around here. "Fuck it," I grab my leather jacket, my bike keys and run down the stairs, followed by Vince and Hunter.
"To her apartment?" Vince asked,
"Damn fucking right," I said firmly.
I lost the container, I lost Bliss, and I am not about to lose her. She is still very fucking useful, and there is a lot that is hidden within her.
I am not letting her go.
. . .
Scarlett's P.O.V.
"And here we are," Jaxon said stopping the car infront of a beautiful beach house, here in West Kelowna. I breathe out in relief as Mom, and Bea step out of the car, I follow them out. The fresh air filled my lungs, which felt so good. I had been couped up in that small room upstairs for four days, with. the window barely propped open, I was caged like an animal. We. had left. Vancouver early in the morning during the guard's shift so it would be a lot easier for Jax and Bea to sneak me out without drawing attention.
Jax didn't tell anyone where he was taking us, but made Bea throw her phone outside of the window as he and Mom turned theirs off. It felt like a whole undercover mission.
"Wow," I say looking out at the view, "Where did you find this place?" Jaxon chuckled grabbing our suitcases, "No, seriously."
"Perks of being a Clyde." He said, "Except I bought this under our grandparent's names." What he knew about mom's parents. "Come in, I'll explain everything." Following him inside the house. silently, I sat down on the couch as millions of questions rushed through me. mind.
"Lettie?" Mom said softly holding a glass of water, "Here," I gratefully took the glass from her as Jax and Bea came into the living room too.
"So," I say, "What is actually going on Jax?"
Jax smiled softly at me, "The Brocks want you because of Noah, and Dad wants you gone because of Richard." I look at him confused but allowing him to explain himself. "Richard Solace, your father, and my best friend." He went on, "Mom told me she told you, that. we had. run away from Ace and I's psychotic father."
"Yeah,"
"Well, there is a lot she didnt tell you." He cleared his throat, "Richard Thatcher, he is also into this underworld shit, but instead of being power hungry and crazy he has his head on straight. He didn't let Mom know, which. caused us to be caught in the end. Mom had made a deal with Dad, that she. will stay with him no matter, what if her parents, our grandparents, and Richard stayed safe." I already knew this. "Dad agreed, big mistake in his mind because now Richard helps run the largest bike gang in Red Deer, Alberta. They are known as the Crusaders." My biological father was also a part of this life. I thought it would be different than this.
"Okay, but why does Ross want me gone?"
"Come on," Jax said, "You are the biggest threat to his organization. If Richard finds out that you are his daughter, and that Dad has forced Mom to keep you a secret then just imagine the havoc he will create. Ross handed you. over on a platter to the Brocks because he knows Harden has been desperately circling us for you. He. wants to know everything about that night, what happened, how it happened. . ." I looked down at my hands, "Everything."
"So Im fucked,"
"You are not fucked." Mom cut in, "We just need to keep you safe."
"Mom-"
"No one knows about this place other than the six of us." He said, "Our grandparents, whom you never got introduced to but know about you. They helped me buy this house under their name, the Solaces. So for the residents in Kelowna, you are Lettie Solace, not Scarlett Clyde."
This. was all so overwhelming, "I really appreciate this, but"
"But what?" Bea asked,
"What if I tell them what happened?" I whisper, "I could take any chance, and-" It wasn't my fault, what happened wasn't my fault. I could make them understand that.
"No," Jax said firmly,
"But-"
"No." He repeated, "Lettie, you have to trust me."
Inhaling sharply I looked over at Mom. and Bea, they all looked so hopeful, so I decided to take a leap of faith. "Okay," Jax smiled at me, before pulling me into a tight hug.
"I got you," He whispered, "We got you."
Feeling safe after ages, I relax in his arms, "I love you," I had never said that to him and Ace, because around him he was a totally different person, but now I know he has had to act that way for the sake of the sanity in that house.
"I love you too." I heard his voice crack as he rubbed my back, mom and Bea joined in the hug, creating a loving and warm circle around me.
. . .
Standing out on the balcony that was attached to my room, I looked at the beauty of the lake. I take a sip of my wine, enjoying the. feeling of. the warmth it created as it went down my esophagus. As I looked out something caught my eyes over by the shoreline, Bea and Jax.
They looked like they were arguing with one another, curious I walked back inside of my room, go down the stairs, and out to the shoreline, but kept my footsteps light not wanting to draw much attention to myself. "You cannot tell her!" Jax snapped at her, "She will lose her shit."
"She is my best friend, Jax, I cannot live with this guilt." She snapped back, "Come on, get out of my way." What is she talking about?
Furrowing my eyebrows I ask, "What do you need to tell me?" Jax and Bea froze as I stood behind them, "Bea?" Bea swallowed harshly as she turned around to meet my gaze. Her hands were visibly shaking, "Beatrix?"
"Nothing," Jax said,
Bea pushed his hand away, "I helped Harden and Hunter kidnap you that night."
It felt as if my heart stopped for a minute, "W-What?" I cannot beleive her.
"B-But I had a solid reason," She stuttered
"Excuse me?" I snapped holding onto the glass tighter willing myself not to scream at her. For four fucking days I had been trapped, abused, and violated by that bastard.
"Dad, he had my mom." She said quickly as her hands trembled, "He threatened me, that if I didnt help sneak you out of the building he would kill her." My body filled with disgust, "You know how dads are. He would have, he had her trapped in the storage room alongside Auntie Laura." I walk over to her with an angry expression, but instead of yelling or screaming, I pull her into a hug. She stood there stunned.
"It's okay." It actually wasn't fucking okay, but if I was in her spot, maybe I would have done the same thing. "I mean, I dont appreciate you handing me over to the Brocks, but I understand why you did it." Bea wrapped her arms around me tightly, "Just please don't do it again."
"I won't," She said quickly, "I have a mom in a safe spot, he won't lay her hands on her. and that means that he has nothing on me."
Breathing out in relief I pull away, "Good," Jax chuckled. "What?" I ask him.
"I thought you were going to break that glass over her head, the way you walked over here." He answered.
"Me too," Bea giggled,
"Well had to create that dramatic flare, I was pretty mad until you told me why." I say, "What a fucking crazy life we have." Truly, like our fathers think our mothers are just toys for them.
"True that," Bea said,
"Mhm," Jax nodded,
"Now your turn," Bea shoved him back alittle,
"What?" I asked scared not ready for more surprises.
"Mom and I will have to head back tommorow Lettie," Anxiousness immediately knew in my stomach.
"Jax," I whisper, "I dont think that'll be a good idea, you know. leaving Bea and I here alone."
"We have to." He answered, "Otherwise Dad will catch on, and that'll mean the Brocks will find you." I didn't want that.
"Fine," I give in quickly knowing I could not win in this situation. He was right, he needed to go back, and Mom, well she needed to go back for her parents. Bea. and. I had a chance to live on my own and build something away from all that chaos.
Bea took my hand supportingly as I smiled at Jax, "We will be fine.' She said to him.
Jax opened his arms for us to walk into his embrace, which we did, "I am just a phone call away." He whispered.
This is our chance and I will make sure, that Bea and I live it up to the fullest.
