"What do you want Rhea?" Rohan asked answering his phone, annoyed with Rhea for disturbing his singing. 

"Rohan where the fuck are you!".

"I'm at the music room".

"Why are you in the music room, you should be with Shanaya you asshole", listening to Shanaya's name Rohan was now worried, the annoyance long gone. 

"Rhea you need to chill give me the phone"

"Jeet, you and Rhea are together?'.

"Yeah I picked her up from her house, we are coming back to St Teresa"

"But why, you guys still have two days off".

"Ro forget all that you need to go find Shanaya right now, she needs you".

"Jeet why, what happened to Shanaya?", the more time went on the more worried Rohan got, he was about to hang up on Rhea and Jeet and go find Shanaya himself, but froze after hearing Rhea's next words.

"Rohan Shanaya knows about the bet".

Rohan's mind went blank, Shanaya wasn't suppose to find out about the bet yet, she was first suppose to hate him so she didn't get hurt, but Rohan's fear came true, Shanaya was now hurting all because of him. 

"No no no, shit, Shanaya wasn't suppose to find out about the bet, she's suppose to hate me first".

"What the fuck are you mumbling Rohan, why would you want Shanaya to hate you?".

"Rhea if Shanaya hated me then she wouldn't be hurt when she finds out about the bet, she would've expected me to hurt her, but now its all fucked up, I don't even want to imagine how hurt she is right now".

"Rohan what the hell is wrong with, instead of confessing your love to Shanaya you decide your going to make her hate you?".

"What else do you want me to do Rhea?", Rohan didn't even deny the fact he was in love with Shanaya, he wanted everyone to know that the bad boy has a heart, his also very much capable of falling in love, but he can't let the girl herself know that biggest cliche of all time has happened, the bad boy has fallen in love with the nerd.

"Oh I don't know, maybe grow some fucking balls and go tell Shanaya the whole truth and not let Abhi lie to her".

"Right because thats so easy, let me go up to Shanaya and tell her that before even I met you I decided I wanted to break your heart just so I can hurt Abhi, then if that wasn't fucking enough I made a bet with your asshole of a best friend to make you fall in love with me, I decided your trust wasn't important Shanaya, when it came to trust or rivalry I chose rivalry, because fuck your trust, I don't give two shits about you or your trust, yeah your right Rhea let me just go tell her that".

"You don't need to tell me anything, I heard enough Rohan", Rohan turned around to see a devastated Shanaya standing behind him, her eyes were bloodshot red, her hair was messed up, and the heartbroken look she gave Rohan made his heart hurt.

"Shanaya I...", before Rohan could complete his sentence, Shanaya had come forward and slapped him across his face.

"How could you Rohan!", Shanaya held Rohan by his collars, "I trusted you Rohan, hell I even loved you, I gave my heart to you, but what did you do, you decided to play with my feelings, you chose your stupid collage rivalry over me, Abhi was right you were going to use me, what were you going to do Rohan after I confessed my love to you huh, were you going to make me have sex with you then dump me like some prostitute".

"Shanaya!", Rohan grabbed Shanaya by her arms and pulled her closer to him, "Don't ever say that, your not a prostitute to me, you mean the world to me Shanaya".

Shanaya pushed Rohan away from her, making him stumble back, "Then why did you make the bet, why did you make my best friend accept the bet Rohan, why!".

Rohan was both shocked and confused, how could Shanaya think he was the one who made the bet, among all the chaos he forget to ask Rhea how did Shanaya find out about the bet, but the words he first ignored were now spinning around in his brain, "Not let Abhi lie to her".

"Shanaya listen to me..", Rohan took a step forward to reach Shanaya, but she stepped back and put her hand out, stopping him from coming near her.

"No!, don't you dare come near me Rohan Nanda!", hearing Shanaya Rohan froze in his spot and looked at the girl in front of him with tearful eyes, this wasn't suppose to be happening, not like this. 

"I won't come near you Shanaya, but please just listen to me".

"Why should I listen to you Rohan?", Shanaya pushed Rohan once again, "Just so you could tell me more lies", Push, "All of it was fake wasn't it", Push, "Fake care", Push, "Fake protection", Push, "Everything was fake, even the love was fake!".

Now Rohan was angry, he admits he made a mistake, but no one calls his care, his protectiveness and his love fake, not even Shanaya herself.

"Enough Shanaya!", Rohan holds Shanaya's wrists tightly in his hand, "Your calling me fake yeah, but what about your lying scumbag of a best friend!".

"Don't call Abhi that!", Shanaya tried to free herself from Rohan's grip but failed and instead his hold got tighter.

"I will call him that, I will call him that again and again and no one I mean no one would be able to stop me", Shanaya froze at Rohan's tone, it was filled with so much anger and hatred, not for her though, but all for Abhi, she never realised how much Rohan hated Abhi, but then again she never knew the real Rohan anyways, "Your calling me fake, but Abhi is the biggest fake Shanaya, he lied to you about everything, Shanaya I wasn't the one who made the bet it was Abhi".

Shanaya looked at Rohan in shock, she couldn't believe her ears, the two people she trusted the most in his world are telling her two different stories, two stories in which at the end she will be getting hurt no one else just her, she didn't know who to believe at this point.

"What".

"You heard me Shanaya, you've listened to Abhi's bullshit now listen to my truth, that day when Abhi accused you of sleeping with me I went to confront him after dropping you at your dorm room, your so called best friend was so insecure about our closeness that he made the bet with me, he made me accept it by repeatedly calling me a coward, and he made the consequence that whoever you don't choose has to leave your life forever, because his ass thought you would choose him over me, but I'm guessing he realised he lost and decided to feed you with lies, Shanaya I admit I made a mistake by accepting the bet, but since I've accepted the bet I've suffered in guilt every single day, remember I even came to you the same day and I asked you about your thoughts on trust, and you even figured something was wrong with me Shanaya, but Shanaya I can tell you this that since the day Abhi has made the bet I have not seen him feel guilty even once, Abhimanyu Singh is the most fake person you will ever meet, I genuinely care about you Shanaya, but Abhi is just obsessed with you, he will stop at nothing to get you, I need you to trust me, I need you to let me protect you from him".

Rohan let go of Shanaya and looked at her for any reaction. Shanaya stumbled back and turned her back to Rohan, trying to process his words. She does remember when Rohan turned up at her dorm room unexpectedly, conflicted with his thoughts, she remembers feeling worried about him because he was acting so weird that day. 

"Shanaya how important is trust for you?"

"What if someone you trust ends up breaking your trust, but they really didn't mean to, they didn't want to but they kind of didn't have a choice".

Shanaya's silence killed Rohan, he knew she was processing everything, but he wanted her to say something, let's be honest here he wanted her to say she trusts him, she won't leave him, now since Shanaya has found out about the bet, he is going to make sure she stays in his life, he wanted to make her hate him so she didn't get hurt, but now she was hurt and he was going to be the one who heals her, "Shanaya please say something".

Shanaya ran her hand through her already tangled hair, and without turning to face Rohan says, "I don't know what to say Rohan, two of the most important people in my life have told me two different stories, I'll admit your story does have some truth in it because I remember that night when you came to my dorm, but Abhi is my best friend why would he lie to me, all I know is that you and Abhi think I'm your prize after you win some kind of competition between the two of you, and let me tell you this I refuse to be part of any competition between you two Rohan".

"Shanaya I never considered you a prize of a competition".

Shanaya turned to face Rohan, "But you did Rohan, according to you Abhi forced you to accept the bet, but Rohan if you had won the bet, I would have been your prize wouldn't I?".

Rohan looked away from Shanaya, her words did have truth in it, ever since Shanaya came to St Teresa, Rohan and Abhi's rivalry changed from football to Shanaya, both boys wanted her, she was truly their ultimate prize.

"Shanaya..."

"I can't be here right now, I need to leave".

Shanaya turned to leave, but Rohan stopped her by holding her hand, "Shanaya please believe me, I'm telling the truth, Abhi is lying to you".

Shanaya separated her hand from Rohan's, "I don't know what to believe anymore Rohan, all I know is for a little while I want nothing to do with you or Abhi".

Shanaya reached the door of the music room but stopped when Rohan spoke, "I'll give you all the time you want Shanaya, I will be here waiting for you as long as possible, because at the end of the day I know you will come back to me, because without Shanaya Rohan is incomplete and without Rohan Shanaya is incomplete".

Shanaya didn't say anything, just wiped her tears that had spilled when Rohan said without him Shanaya is incomplete, because even though she hated it, it was the truth, wiping her tears Shanaya just leaves the music room without turning back, because she knows if she turns around now she won't be able to walk away again.

After Shanaya left the room, Rohan also left not after Shanaya though, he went to go find the lying asshole because of who Shanaya is hurting so much.

Finally after what seemed like a long journey, Rohan had reached Abhi's dorm room. Seeing that his door was open, Rohan immediately entered without knocking. 

Entering his room, Rohan saw Abhi sitting on the side of his bed looking at his and Shanaya's photo, at this point he had no sympathy left for Abhi and in his eyes he deserved nothing related to Shanaya. 

Rohan took the photo out of Abhi's hand and ripped it in half.

"What the fuck Rohan!".

Rohan held Abhi by his collars, "You don't deserve anything related to Shanaya after what you did to her".

"What I did to her?, I didn't do anything to her she's the one who broke my heart by falling in love with you".

Having enough of Abhi's shit, Rohan punched him in the face, "If you loved Shanaya you would be happy in her happiness, you wouldn't lie to her, do you even realise how much damage you caused, what happened to not telling Shanaya about the bet".

"I have loved Shanaya since we were children, I'm not going to let a guy like you take her away from me, I will do everything in my power to make her mine".

Rohan looked at Abhi with disgust, "Do you even hear yourself Abhi, your not in love with Shanaya your just dangerously obsessed with her, your love for Shanaya is nothing but fake Abhi, just like you".

"Rohan!", this time Abhi ended up punching Rohan, "Don't you dare call my love fake, Shanaya is mine and only mine".

"Fuck off Abhi!", Rohan punched Abhi, "Shanaya doesn't love you Abhi, she loves me and I love her, before you told her about this bet I was about to make her hate me so when she finds out about the bet she wouldn't be so hurt, but that was the stupidest plan I could ever think of, because Shanaya and Rohan are made for each other and will always find a way back to each other, face it Abhi, Shanaya is mine and only mine, not you or anyone else will come between us".

Abhi doesn't say anything just punches Rohan back, starting a fist fight between the two rivals for Shanaya's love. 

While Rohan and Abhi were fighting they didn't see Dean enter the dorm room.

"Abhimanyu Singh and Rohan Nanda!", the boys stopped their fight after hearing Dean's voice, "What the hell is happening here?", while Rohan and Abhi were fighting a small crowd had formed trying to see the biggest rivals of St Teresa fighting.

"The rivals are doing what they do best Dean, fighting".

"Shut up Jai, and Rohan and Abhi, are you going to tell me what were you both fighting for this time?".

"Why don't you ask your good boy Abhimanyu Singh Dean, ask him how he likes to lie to people just so he can get something that will never be his".

"Dean why don't you ask your bad boy, why does he like to take things that don't belong to him, if he stayed away then I wouldn't have to lie".

"Shanaya doesn't belong to you asshole".

"I've loved her for way to long to give up on her now".

"You might love Shanaya but she loves me and as her best friend you should support her not lie to her".

"Why should I sacrifice my love for you, I will fight for Shanaya till my last breath".

Rohan stepped closer to Abhi, both now fully face to face, "Then maybe I should just end your story here, because we both know I won't hesitate one moment".

"You won't get a chance to even touch me before I wipe your name from this earth".

"Enough is enough boys!", Dean came in between Rohan and Abhi separating the two, "You both need to grow up, this is a collage not some street where you both fight like maniacs, Rohan go back to your dorm and stay there, for the rest of the day I don't want you both out of your rooms".

Giving one last glare to Abhi, Rohan left the room, not to go to his dorm though, lets face it the bad boy never listens to authority, he was going to a place that will help him reduce his pain, not only the pain of his wounds from the fight, but also to reduce the pain in his heart of possibly losing Shanaya's trust forever.

 Heads up peeps its 4 am here in Australia and I just wrote this chapter and didn't edit it much, so sorry for the mistakes, will hopefully maybe fix it in two years time 😂
