The three reach the run down house. Castielle sneers, but he looks close at Greyson. He knows that this will not be good for Greyson. When he sees the red take over the eye, "Shit!"

Castielle exclaims softly and takes off after Greyson. Clueless about what's going on, Lynnette follows as fast as she can. They find the mother in a heap on the floor with what looks like a kitchen knife sticking up in her chest.

The boys merely glance at the woman and continue on. Even Lynnette can tell the female is dead. She mutters a prayer for the poor woman under her breath. She hears one of the males snort in derision before Castielle says just loud enough for her to hear, "Heaven doesn't hear our prayers."

Lynnette nearly stops astonished at his words before she hears the crying of a young girl. She heads into the room just in time to see Greyson rip the male off the young girl and start pounding him.

Lynnette goes to the girl and is relieved to see the lack of blood and that the girl's panties are still on her.

Lynnette picks up the girl and holds her close cuddling her. "It's alright. Ethan sent us to get you. We're taking you to a safe place where you won't be hurt again."

"Ethan? What about Joanie and Lilla?"

"They are all safe and sound at your new home and sleeping now. They've already eaten and bathed."

The girl looks up brighter at those words, "They got to eat?" The girl smiles. "They usually give me what little food there is left over after father gets done. Mom doesn't eat much either. Can we take mother too?"

"I'm sorry love, but your father killed her already." Castielle says coming up behind the girl and ruffling her hair.

He looks at the glare Lynnette gives him and says, "What?"

"You don't tell someone something like that so baldly." Lynnette says pulling the now sobbing girl to her.

"Go get some clothes for the pets and I'll get some for her." Castielle nods and disappears down the hall.

"How's the girl? Did we get here in time?" Greyson asks, but his voice is so angry that Lynnette doesn't dare look at him.

"This time. Has the bastard forced himself on her before? I don't know." Lynnette feels rather than sees Greyson's nod.

"What's your name, love?" Lynnette asks the spent girl once she stops crying.

"Cassie," the girl sniffs as she stops crying.

"Cassie, we need to get some clothes for tomorrow packed. After that we'll get you some new ones, okay?" Lynnette asks gently.

"Okay," Cassie slides down from Lynnette and goes to some boxes in the corner of her closet like room. She takes out a ratty dress and some holey underwear. Lynnette curses under her breath.

"I'm ready," Cassie says going up to her new idol.

Lynnette takes the pillowcase off the pillow and places the clean clothes inside before taking the girls hand.

Grey waits until the females leave the room then twists the neck of the male. He makes sure that the male is dead before he follows the others out of the room. He finds the three waiting for him, the two vampires blocking the view of the dead female from the girl. He's sure that, that is due to Lynnette, not Castielle. Castielle believes that things should be faced and dealt with, not sugar coated and put off.

Greyson believes that some things can be sugar coated and still dealt with. He's pretty sure that Lynnette will agree with him on that.

"Can we eat once we get home?" Cassie asks even as she snuggles into Lynnette's arms.

"Yes, we'll make sure that you get some food. Now we have a long ways to go and we're running there, so will you allow me to carry you, rather than Lynnette? My name is Micah."

Cassie holds her arms open to Micah and allows him to take her from Lynnette's arms.

They hear sirens coming, "Let's go." Greyson says and leads the way out of the house.

"What about my parents?" Cassie says trying not to cry again.

"The police will deal with them."

"Will my father send me to jail for being bad?" Cassie asks the strange male holding her.

"No, Cassie. If any one were to go to jail for being bad, it would be him. Has your father ever done that to you before?"

"Done what?" Cassie asks confused.

"What he was doing to you when we came. Touching you and getting on top of you with out clothes.

"No, but he has with both Lilla and Joanie. Sometimes he does both of them. It used to hurt them but they don't cry any more when he gets done with them, but they don't smile any more either." Greyson is very careful that he doesn't crush Cassie as the anger flows through him at what has happened to his pet and her sister.

"Daddy sometimes had friends come over and some would be with Lilla and Joanie and others would go to Ethan's room.

"Ethan is always so angry now. He didn't use to be like that. He used to be so fun to play with. All three of them are so different. Mommy used to smile too, but now no one smiles and I'm always scared when daddy's home."

"She'll stay with me when we get home. We'll put her and Ethan on the couch bed.  If you are willing Joanie can stay there as well, or if Castielle is willing then Lilla can stay."

"We will let them both stay. They will need to be reassured that Cassie is safe just as much as Cassie will need to be with her siblings. Are you going to have Ethan sleep in that room?"

"Yeah, I'll have the other wall placed back in."

Greyson nods in understanding. He agrees that that will be best. He looks down at the sleeping girl in his arms. "What about her, Lynnette? Are you going to make her a pet as well? She will need to be marked in some manner to keep her safe from the other vampires."

"Marked?" Lynnette is lost on what he's talking about.

"All the pets are marked. If there is a human that isn't marked then they are fair game to all the vampires that live there. Sometimes more than one vampire will eat from a human and unintentionally kill them from blood loss. You will need to bite and mark Ethan and young Cassie when we get back home. Bite them as if you are going to eat from them but instead think of claiming them. They will have a tattoo that shows your ownership over them. With that no one will touch either of them with out your permission. Not even Darius will." Greyson explains.

"I have to bite her?"

"It's either you do or I will. Otherwise there are some vampires that adore children's blood and would drain her in one meal." Castielle tells Lynnette bluntly.

"You, not Greyson?"

"No," Greyson says with finality and takes off running faster.

"I said something wrong didn't I?"

"This whole night has been rough on Micah. It brings up a lot of memories that he's buried deep, wanting to forget, trying to move on." Castielle says sadly.

"What memories?"

"His life before he was turned." With that Castielle won't say anything else.
