Prologue

This story is about the Red Dragon God with his Phoenix Guardian that took on human forms and descended from the Heavens and fell to Earth in order for the Dragon God to rule a country. He was the Kouka Kingdom's first King, King Hiryuu.

But because the hearts of the people began to grow wicked, and because they forgot God, the country began to decline. King Hiryuu was captured by those who desired his power and authority. The Guardian then fought for the life of the God, but was captured, tortured, and used for the people's desires. At that time, it seemed as if everything was destroyed at once.

The four dragons soon found out what the humans were doing to the Red Dragon and Phoenix, making them descend down the land of the humans and confront the two. The dragons told Hiryuu and the Phoenix to return to the Heavens and destroy the humans who have forgotten to cherish and heed the Gods. But Hiryuu rejected their idea, for he still loved the humans even though he was betrayed by them.

The Dragons still loved Hiryuu as well and didn't want to lose him or his companion. So in order to protect both of them; the Blue, Green, Yellow, and White Dragons...gave their blood to human warriors and gave them their powers.

One was given sharp claws that could tear anything apart.

One was given eyes that could see far off into the distance.

One was given sharp bodies that could never be injured.

The last one was given legs that could jump high into the skies.

The warriors that obtained the power of the dragons each lead their tribes, protected Hiryuu with his Phoenix Guardian, and quelled the country's chaos.

But it wasn't long before the Red Dragon, went to sleep weary from all the battling. The Phoenix Guardian no longer had any purpose on Earth and at once, returned to the Heavens. As for the Four Dragon Warriors, their mission had ended. The Four Dragon Warriors thought of their King who no longer move and mourned. They didn't know whether they were grieving because they had lost someone special, or if the blood of the Dragons within them was mourning the death of Hiryuu.

After that, the Four Dragon Warriors saw that their powers far exceeded what humans possessed. It's said that they each left their tribes, went their separate ways and disappeared. The tribes they left behind progressed further than what they originally were, and became what are now the Five Tribes.

"I already know about that story, love. And you also know the more detailed one and the correct version. You are the one that told me." The woman with short (H/C) hair told her husband.

The woman was sitting on their shared bed, holding their baby girl. The baby had (E/C) eyes like her father, her hair had to wait for five more months before it'll grow, and she was sleeping quietly in her mother's arms.

"I know, it's just that I remembered what I told you about the tradition. The one with the necklace." The tall orange haired man was standing in front of her beside the medium sized desk they had.

"What about your weird family tradition?" The woman asked with a gentle face, her green eyes never left her baby.

It's just been more than a month since the was born into the world. Both of the parents were so happy with having a child, that they would mostly stay with their daughter or plan things out for the next years to come in her life.

"You still haven't opened the box (M/N). I've been noticing that you're not forgetting about the necklace, you're avoiding it."

"..." (M/N) was silent, showing her husband that she didn't want to talk about the topic.

"Love..." The husband moved to sit by his wife's side, placing his arm around her waist.

"You can tell me what's bothering you. If something's bothering you, then it's bothering me too. I just want to see you not be so worried all the time." He kissed her cheek, comforting her when he noticed that she had a worry filled look on her face.

"It's just that, what if the necklace's rust disappeared? Doesn't it mean that (Y/N) is obligated to serve the Crimson Dragon King? That she doesn't have a choice? That she'd have to serve the Crimson Dragon until his death too? Because of a promise that we didn't even witness ourselves!" (M/N) started to tear up as she held her baby close to her chest, worrying over the future that would be decided for her, a future which she had no say in the matter.

"(M/N)..."

"No (F/N). You know I'm right, that she's not going to even have free will once that necklace is clean again. So I don't want to see it, I wish I could just destroy it and repair it after eighteen more years. So that she could still experience freedom when her path was already made for her..." (M/N) buried her face on (F/N)'s shoulder, she was sobbing as she held the sleeping baby.

"Shh... (M/N), you know that is the last thing I want for our (Y/N). But I'm sure Sora wouldn't have given (Y/N) a life like that, my family believes in Sora for a reason. And that reason is because she's a good person, she knew what would happen when she made that promise to her child. I'm sure that she would never let something like that happen if our baby gets chosen." (F/N) was able to calm (M/N)'s crying, gently raising her head so she could see their beautiful baby girl.

"I don't know if I could trust Sora, but I trust you (F/N)." (M/N) smiled as she stared down on her baby, feeling joy in her heart as she saw (Y/N) peacefully sleeping.

"And you wouldn't have married me if you didn't." (F/N) chuckled as he kissed the cheek of his wife.

"Well that's because I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you, love." (M/N) smiled as she placed her head on his shoulder, the couple smiling together while they stared at their baby.

Later that night, while (F/N) was resting on the bed; with (Y/N) sleeping in her small bed beside their's. (M/N) was standing in front of her own drawer in the far left side of the room. She was holding an opened box in her hand, the lid had a symbol of a phoenix that was painted gold. The small box was opened for only (M/N) could see; but if you look a little bit closer, there was a shiny silver necklace inside of it, the also silver phoenix pendant was the one standing out.

The woman with shoulder length (H/C) hair closed the box. Holding it in her hands before placing it on the medium sized desk that was a feet away from (Y/N)'s bed. She smiled at her baby, wishing her a good night before she climbed on the bed and layed next to her husband. Hugging him from behind his back as she fell asleep from how tired she was feeling, tears forming on the corner of her eyes as she still couldn't stop worrying for the future of her baby.
