Chapter 2: Unknown Meetings...?
(Y/N)'s POV
Me and Gramps were entering the Wind Tribe village. When we entered inside, we followed the path to my new house. When we stopped at the door, Gramps opened it and made me go first before him. When I went inside, I noticed that it was clean, neat, and cozy. It reminded me of my old house... and my family... I noticed that Gramps was staring at me with worry, I felt a stray tear that rolled down my cheek. I immediately wiped it as I didn't wanted to show any vulnerability to my new guardian.
"Are you alright (Y/N)?" He said with worry as it was clear that he was giving me concern that I didn't want, the last thing I need is Gramps worrying about my state when he is a busy man himself.
"I'm fine, I'm just a bit overwhelmed is all." Masking my sadness with lies and showing that I didn't want to talk about it more; making me try to change the subject.
"Where am I going to stay?" Gramps clearly noticed what I did, so it made me relieved that he didn't try to go back to the other topic.
"You're going to stay in the extra room next to the room on the left side from now on. The room after the door down that path. It's not anything special, but if it makes up for it, you can decorate it anyway you want. It'll be yours and it doesn't mind me at all if you give it some changes."
I nodded and said thank you, he gave me a warm smile as he also gave a nod in return.
"You can start unpacking. I'm just going to store this box in the back outside and do some work. I'll be back to make dinner for us."
I nodded again and went to the room Gramps told me, carrying my heavy belongings by my side. When I opened the door, I also heard the house door close. I went inside my room and closed the door behind me. Gramps kinda underestimated the room he gave me; it was very clean that you couldn't even see a speck of dust anywhere, the walls was painted a beautiful cream with no certain design given to them, the only window was on the right side above the bed- Making me believe that it was made that way to blind me awake if I start sleeping in, making me take note to cover that torturing device. There were only four pieces of furniture in here; the bed that was pretty big for me for the chances that I stay longer where I start to grow, the drawer that was large enough to have all of my clothes and other belongings in it was on the left side of the room, and there was a small desk with a chair beside the bed that I knew it was going to be somewhat useless because I prefer my bed than a table and a chair. I can't believe that Gramps thought this was nothing much, the room was bigger than my own bedroom back at home! Oh right, at home... I guess I'm still not used to calling this my new home huh.

I was almost done with placing the flowers on the vase when I heard the door to the section of this house open and close.
"Well Gramps is early." I said and ignored it, I'll just greet him later when I'm done with these.
While doing so, I noticed that the footsteps were light, unlike Gramps which were heavy. That's strange, I'm sure that Gramps wouldn't have a reason to just sneak up on me. But what if it were an intruder? A thief that was willing to hurt me if they knew there was someone here. I know Gramps would greet me and not be so sneaky about it, it's very unlikely of him to do.
I hurriedly placed the roses in the vase, mentally hissing in pain when the thorns scratched my hands roughly. Some of the long scratches made my hands bleed, but I just burned my hands to seal the wounds shut; and it hurt so much.
The sound was getting closer and closer. As it was getting closer, it was getting faint too, but I could still feel the vibrations of the floor, faint, but still there. I just tolerated the pain in my burning hands, making me relieved that the wounds sealed shut quickly by the heat I increased to make it close faster. I quickly went to the drawer by the left side of the room, taking out a candle that hasn't been used. It was the only thing I thought that could actually help me.
I felt the vibrations stop, I heard my door open, but I just held my weapon in my hands with a tight grip. I could feel the candle melting a bit at my touch, making me try to calm down my nerves so I could use the candle to my advantage. I could also sense the intense gaze of the person behind me that entered my room. I didn't want to see the stranger behind me so I didn't turn around and just stood still, standing in front of my drawer, ready to attack the intruder if necessary."
???'s POV
"Well Gramps is early." I could hear a soft new voice, the voice that mistakened me for Gramps.
A new voice? That old man didn't told me if we were going to have visitors here, nor did he even brought it up to me. So there's one likely explanation, an unwanted guest entered. I followed the source of the intruder's voice while making my footsteps quiet so I could get the person off guard. I then stopped at the door to the room next to mine. I opened the door and saw a girl? She looked about my age but a bit shorter in height, with (H/L) messy (H/C) hair, fair skin, and in a floral (F/C) kimono that was a bit dirty in some places. (The picture at the top is what you are wearing.)
"Who are you? Why are you here?" I said in a demanding tone.
The girl turned around, she had a stoic face while she looked at me with her (E/C) orbs. I was slightly confused when I saw her tightly holding a candle in her hands that was already been used, seeing that it had already melted a bit. This girl must be crazy if she thought that a used unlit candle could help her. It was clear that she was surprised as well to see someone that was probably in the same age as her.
"Shouldn't it be me asking that?" She asked in an annoyed and confused tone.
"What?" I said in confusion.
"I live here. What do you mean I? This is my house." We both said in unison.
Now that I think about it, it looked like she was moving in the guest bedroom beside mine. It even seemed that she was almost finished with everything. I then noticed that she was backing up to the bed on the right side of the room.
"If you are here to steal from this house, I am not afraid to jump out of this window and make the owner of this home know that someone broke in." She said as she was on the bed and near the window, waving the used candle in front of her like it could scare me off, I just sweat dropped at the stupidity she was showing to me.
"Wait- I wouldn't do that if I were you." I said calmly, trying to convince her not to jump out.
"And you are not me."
"Wait- Hey, stop! You're going to-" I yelled but I was too late, she already had jumped out of the window.
I wasn't concerned that she would fall to her death, the window wasn't that high enough to injure someone where they can't walk or be in permanent damage. I was concerned on what was on the other side of the window.
"Ahh!"
I walked up to the bed, climbing on it and walking to the window where she had just jumped out of, the candle in her hand rolled out of her grasp far away from her. I'm sure that it couldn't even help her even if she was still holding it.
"I tried to warn you, a pile of dirt is on the other side of the window. It'll be a painful landing if you jump out without even knowing where to land correctly."
"Uhh... Who even thought it was a good idea to have this lying around?" She mumbled to herself, but since I was close to the window, I could hear what she said.
As she was distracted by the harsh landing she received, I placed my feet on the border of the window and leaped out to land in front of the girl and the pile of dirt she was still sitting on.
"By what you were saying, I assume you know the old man whom is the owner of this house. General Mun-deok of the Wind Tribe, the person that I call Gramps and heard you did as well." Looking at her with a serious face, since I'm still not that much convinced that Gramps would take in another child without even telling me.
She was still in a bit of pain, seeing that she was still rubbing her backside. I was impressed to see that she looked up at me with a stoic face that she could still muster up even when in pain.
"I wouldn't be inside of the house placing my stuff inside the room if I didn't." I raised an eyebrow when she was giving me a harsh tone, it was obvious she was blaming me for the pain she was experiencing.
"Well if you had stopped and listened to what I would have said, you wouldn't be laying on the pile of dirt with an aching butt." I said with a smile as my eyes twitched, annoying her since she was already annoying me enough.
She scoffed as she just gave me a glare that wasn't that scary, but it did made me smirk when she didn't even tried to give me a snarky remark back.
"How about we just go ask Gramps about this, misunderstanding." She said with a defeated sigh, standing up as she just dusted herself because she was lying on a pile of dirt.
"Since I do want some answers, I am willing to comply with what you said." She just nodded her head and silently gestured me to follow her, not even speaking up to ask her if she did knew where Gramps office was.
The walk there was silent, no one talked through the path we were going. I can feel the tension in the air rising every time a minute passes, I took a few glances at the girl's direction to see if she feels the tension. It looked like she didn't even know that there was even a trace of tension in the air, I think she didn't noticed because I was the one who created it in the first place. As I was thinking about how awkward the walk was, she spoke up.
"(L/N)." She stated blankly.
"What?" I asked in confusion.
"(L/N), (L/N) (Y/N), that's my name. I thought you were thinking about me, you looked like you were in deep thought. I thought you were thinking how suspicious I am and who I was. Since in your perspective, I'm the intruder of the house." She said calmly while looking straight ahead, the stoic expression on her face was still there.
"Well, my name is Son Hak. And you do look suspicious, not to mention creepy." I said in a matter of fact tone.
I looked at her direction to see her reaction, instead of getting angry at what I said, it looked like the expression on her face was going to break. Before I could speak, she beat me to it.
"Well, this is how a person looks like when they experience someone's death." She said in a sad but calm voice and still looking straight ahead.
What she said caught me off guard, I wasn't expecting that kind of reaction from her. Before I could even say anything to her, she spoke up again.
"Oh look, we're here. Lets go and ask." She looked at me with a blank face that she was able to keep again, but I could see it in her eyes that she was sad about the topic and I could tell that she was relieved that she didn't have to talk about it.
I gave a sigh as I nodded in agreement. She nodded in return and went inside first, making me go in after her. When we went inside Gramps office, he was busy doing paperwork. He was too concentrated on it that he didn't knew we were inside, not until (Y/N) faked a cough. Gramps finally noticed us in his office. He raised an eyebrow at (Y/N)'s direction, seeing her floral kimono all dirty from when she landed on the pile of dirt, but he just ignored it and stared at both of us.
"What brings you two here?" He asked curiously.
"We wanted to know why he/she is in the house, it seemed that he/she broke inside." We both said in unison.
Gramps looked at us for a second, then started laughing out loud. What's so funny?! It's pretty clear that this wasn't a laughing matter.
"Is there something we don't understand?" (Y/N) said with a hint of confusion in her voice.
"Of course there is, I haven't introduced you two yet."
"Introduce us?" We both asked, looking at each other as we noticed we spoke in the same time for the third time of the day. To be honest, it's starting to get a bit creepy and annoying.
"You two are going to be technically cousins."
"What?!"
"So that's the reason why." (Y/N) said to herself but loud enough for us to hear.
"When did this happen?" I asked, confused about the whole situation that I wasn't aware off.
"She was taken in to the Son family today." I was going to ask how but (Y/N) spoke up first. What is it with her interrupting everything I try to say?
"Thank you for the answer I'm going to leave and finish fixing my room. Are you going to join me?" She asked before looking at me with her blank face while waiting for an answer.
A few seconds passed by and I was finally able to give my simple answer.
"No, you can go ahead. I'm just going to ask Gramps some more questions."
She nodded her head before she bowed to Gramps and me then left to go back to the house she was now living in. I looked at Gramps and saw that he had a serious expression on his face.
"You're going to question me how, am I correct." He said in a serious voice.
I nodded and listened to him to start explaining why.
"Her parents passed away of a sickness that was common in her village. While their sickness was getting worse, they told me to take care and take in (Y/N) to the Son family. When (Y/N)'s parents died and their only child were able to see their dead bodies, she was in complete shock, it took her a few hours to process what happened. When I came to check on her after those few hours; the once bubbly and energetic child turned into a child that didn't want anyone to see her emotions after what just happened to her parents.
"Because of this, I don't want you to talk to her about her parents passing away and what happened this day. You can only talk to her about this when she opens up that conversation willingly. I don't want her to be more heartbroken than she already is today. So I want you to be friends with her or treat her like she's your real cousin. Do you understand?" Gramps said in a serious and calm manner.
I thought for a moment on the information given to me. She went into a life changing experience, she had a stoic or blank expression on her face because she didn't want anyone to see her emotions she was feeling. But it did looked like she was trying to repair the damaged pieces of her heart from what happened. Maybe she could really change for the better in Gramps care. Besides, Gramps wouldn't tell me this if he thought I couldn't help her in her new surroundings. I know what it feels like in her shoes, not knowing what to do in a whole new place, with people you don't even know if you could trust or not.
"I do, I will treat her right and respect her privacy." I nodded my head as I spoke up with reassurance and seriousness.
Gramps smiled at me, which was a rare sight considering what our relationship is, with the yelling and disagreeing every now and then.
"Do you have any more questions?" I shook my head.
"Then you can leave, I have much more paperwork work to do and I don't want to pile it up more." Gramps said in annoyance.
I guess I spoke too soon. I then nodded and left his office without even glancing back at him. I went to the long familiar path which took me a couple of minutes before I was in front of the door. I then opened the door as I let myself in, making sure I closed it after I went inside. I looked for (Y/N) and saw her in the kitchen cooking, with cleaner clothes and the dirt on herself was gone so she could cook properly. I leaned myself on the doorframe with my arms crossed over my chest.
"Why are you cooking? I thought you were fixing your room?" I asked as I was surprised that she could cook.
"I was fixing my room, I just finished. I thought that I should help with house chores since you and Gramps accepted me in the family. Since Gramps is already busy when we went there, I thought I could at least help with cooking food for us." She said in a softer tone, unlike her serious and calm ones, she was now opening up a bit more to my surprise. That was faster than I expected.
"Who said I welcomed you in the family?"
"Even if you didn't say it, I know you already have." She said as she gave me a sideward glance before looking back at her cooking with a neutral look on her face.
"How?"
"When you didn't show any kind of disagreement in me joining your family, that's how and the only reason I need." She said and looked in my direction with a blank face but with a faint smile.
I nodded before she looked away and concentrated on her cooking.
"I have one last question." I said.
"Hm?"
"How did you knew where Gramps' office was? I'm sure he sent you at the house immediately when you got here, so how did you know?" I asked in a curious yet amused tone.
"When we were still walking to the direction of the house, Gramps talked to someone with a stack of papers. When he saw the papers, he looked very stressed and irritated. When they were both done talking, we kept walking back down the path. I looked back and saw him come out of a structure without the papers in hand. Gramps also sighed in irritation when they were just done talking with each other. That's how I knew." She said in a matter of fact tone, like observing other people was the most normal thing to do.
"So you observe people for entertainment or what?"
"I observe people to see how they act, what their personality is, and what will happen. It's common for someone like me to try to see what kind of people are going to be in my surroundings for a while." She spoke in a calm way.
"But you do have a point though." She nodded at what I said.
I then looked at her cooking what looks like soup and meat.
"Are you just going to stare or will you help?" She said as she was chopping the meat evenly, concentrating on the task at hand.
"I'll help if there's anything I can do."
"Place the plates, bowls, glasses and the other stuff on the table." She commanded.
"Yes ma'am." I said as I saluted and went to the cabinets.
I heard a faint giggle in (Y/N)'s direction, I smiled and pretended that I didn't heard it.

3rd Person
(Y/N), Hak, and Mun-deok were eating dinner in the dining room. "This is delicious (Y/N)!" Mun-deok said happily while eating.
"How did this taste like it's expensive?" Hak said while looking at (Y/N) curiously, and with Mun-deok that heard the question.
"I used spices that belonged to my family that I brought with me. I didn't know if you had the ingredients I needed to make the food that I know how to make." (Y/N) stated blankly while drinking her glass of water.
Both Hak and Mun-deok were surprised that she brought spices just to help with the cooking.
"This taste as if it were made in the castle." Hak said happily while eating his meat.
(Y/N) looked at Mun-deok and then to Hak, giving them a neutral face this time instead of just an expressionless one.
"Thank you for your appreciation, I should be the one thanking you for accepting me in the family. There is nothing that can be done to show my appreciation, I could only help out with the chores." Hak looked surprised, then an amused smirk was on his face; while Mun-deok only smiled at his new granddaughter.
"You don't need to do this because you think this is something you need to do. You do not need to repay us, we are all here not because we needed to, but because we chose to be here. I do want you to do the chores but I want you to know that you should do them not to repay us, but because you want to help out." Mun-deok corrected in a serious yet appreciative tone.
"Thank you..." (Y/N) said in a quiet voice, her gaze softened a bit as she nodded at Mun-deok.
"Is (Y/N) going to join me to the castle?" Hak asked curiously, saying her first name wasn't a big deal to the two children.
They both agreed to call each other on first name basis when they were preparing the food, and it did made Hak a bit happy to know that she trusted him enough to call her (Y/N).
"(Y/N) will join you, she needs to have friends from outside. I trust you to take good care of her, can you?" Mun-deok asked Hak seriously.
"I will." Hak responded seriously as well.
Mun-deok nodded and continued eating the delicious meal.
"Are you talking about Hiryuu Castle?" (Y/N) asked as she took a bite of the meat she made.
"Yes. From now on when I go to the castle, you're going too." Hak said as (Y/N) nodded in reply.
"Wait, so you're telling me that you're allowed to go to the Castle?" She said with a neutral face, but the shock emotion she was feeling was expressed by her dropping the chopsticks she was holding in her bowl.
"Since Gramps has businesses to take care off in the Castle, he makes me go with him to see the annoying people that I hang around with." Hak explained to (Y/N).
Hak did see Mun-deok glare at him when he talked about his friends, but he just ignored it since he was saying the truth.
"Wow, I didn't knew I would get the chance to see the Castle at this age. I thought I would have to at least wait eight more years until I could even be in front of the Castle gates." (Y/N) said while grabbing her chopsticks, taking three pieces of meat in her bowl to distract herself before she could show her excitement.
They all continued eating until they were finished, with (Y/N) not noticing that she had a smile on her face when she spoke up. The other two smiling to themselves because they saw it, keeping it to themselves so that (Y/N) could just eat in her own calm and yet unnoticeable happy state.

(Y/N) was sitting on her bed, in her favorite pajamas. She was about to lay down and go to sleep until a knock was heard on her door. She stood up from the side of her bed and walked towards it. Opening the door, she was surprised to see Hak in front of her, but of course she still had a blank expression on her face.
(Y/N) already saw Hak multiple times this day, but at that moment was she able to study his features clearly. He had blue eyes that matched what he wore when they just met earlier. H also had short messy black hair with bangs hanging bellow his eyes. It was clear to (Y/N) that Hak had good looks for someone that's been annoying her when they first saw each other.
"Is there something you need?" She questioned the taller male, yawning a bit because she was exhausted of everything that happened and just wanted to sleep already.
"Before you go to bed, I wanted to say sorry for what I asked when we were talking down the path. Thank you for the delicious meal and your consideration to Gramps and me." Hak said trying to look as if he didn't cared, but messed up horribly.
The same blank expression was still on her face, but her eyes softened a bit as she looked at Hak.
"You don't need to-''
Hak cut (Y/N) off, just wanting the whole ordeal to be done with as soon as possible.
"You don't need to respond, I know what you'll say but I just wanted to tell you." He stated while scratching his cheek, feeling somewhat embarrassed.
(Y/N) was about to speak again, but Hak threw a cute pair of gloves at her face. It landed on her face and then on her hands, she looked at the gloves and raised an eyebrow at what he gave her.
"I noticed that you were trying your best to cover your scars and scratches on your hands and some that were on your arms when I met you earlier." Hak said with a straight face pretending that he still didn't cared.
Before (Y/N) could thank him, he rushed away from room and a faint your welcome was heard. The sound of the door from the room beside hers closing loudly could be heard. (Y/N) gently closed her door in front of her. She walked back to her bed, sitting on it as she was still processing what just happened. She then looked at the beautiful (F/C) elbow length gloves with strap designs on the wrist that she was holding, she then smiled to herself and neatly placed it on top of her drawer. She laid down on her bed, going to sleep with a smile on her face.

Hiryuu, I can sense him, he's close. Remember who you are, little (Y/N).
"Who are you? How do you know my own name?!" I exclaimed in shock and fear.
I was searching frantically where the voice is coming from, but I can hear it as if it was everywhere. I can only see darkness, darkness that surrounded everything in my sight. But, I could see a bright yellow glow in the distance.
The time will come where all of your questions will be answered, but now is not the time. Remember to protect Hiryuu with your LIFE, practice your powers, and use them wisely and for good. I will guide you on what path you'll choose my child, but you will have to walk that path and face the many obstacles ahead.
I can see the yellow glow coming closer and closer, I could now see the figure clearly. It's a woman, in a long fiery dress with long orange hair flowing behind her as she was walking to me. When she was in front of me, I can see that she has pale skin and golden eyes that resembles burning fire.
I know you'll walk the right path. She said as she placed her hand on my necklace that was not tucked in my clothes, and her other hand on my fair cheek.
Even if this person is a stranger to me, I can feel like she's trustworthy and her presence makes me feel safe, just like my parents would make me feel... I could feel my eyes were beginning to water.
She saw my glossy eyes and smiled reassuringly at me, cupping her hand that was on my cheek.
I will always be by your side, remember that. She said as my necklace glowed and she started to become blurry, like she was slowly fading away,
She removed her hand that was on my cheek and placed it with her other hand that was holding my necklace's pendant.
"Wait, who are you? That's the only question I want to be answered today..." I said desperately, I feel like she's someone important to me, someone that was close to me.
My name is...Sora. She said with a kind smile before she faded and turned into an orb, the orb going inside of my pendant. My pendant glowed a yellow color and floated in front of my face, the glow was getting brighter and brighter; and then...

Fun Author Fact: Sora means Sky in Japanese. I was supposed to make the name of (Y/N) into "The Soaring Phoenix." But I remembered that Jae-ha was called "The Soaring Green Dragon." I called her Sora because she- wait... I almost said a spoiler! I'll tell you when the right chapter will come.
