RishMi- Rest...

Rishi's P.O.V.

"Lakshmi!" I say irritated as I see her walking around in the kitchen, she was just starting to feel better yesterday... I told her to rest but does she listen to me? No. "Tum kya karahi ho?" (What are you doing?) She ingested venom, fought against its poison and now she thinks she's invincible...

Lakshmi looked at me confused pointing at the water bottle, "Pani peena tha. Calm down Rishi." (I wanted to drink water, calm down Rishi.)

"Calm down?" I ask her, "Toh mein kya invisble hogya hoon? Mujhe-" (Then why didn't you call me?)

"Rishi." Lakshmi said calmly, "Bus Pani peena keliya tha, mein phir room mein chali jaogi." (I just want to drink water and then I'll go back into our room.)

Sighing I take the water bottle from her, "Rishi tum-" (Rishi-)

"Chup." (Sh) I cut her off, "Sit down here," Pushing her down on the chair in the dining room I hand her a glass of water, "Here."

She shook her head taking the glass from me, "Thank you,"

Sitting down in front of her I relax in the chair pulling out my phone I make a few emails, "Rishi."

"Mhm?"

"Diwali aarahi hain to mein kya soch rahi thi-" (Diwali is coming soon and I was thinking-)

"Nope." I stop her shaking my head, "Tum kuch nahi karogi." (You aren't doing anything)

"Per Rishi, mujhe acha lagta hain." (But Rishi, I like to join in.)

I look up at her, "Lakshmi meine ek baar kaha na. Tum koi superwoman nahi ho, jo do din mein teeka hojagi." (As I said, Lakshmi, you aren't some superwoman who is perfectly fine after two days.)

Lakshmi pouted putting the glass of water down, "Mein karogi." (I'm going to help.)

"Nahi karogi." (No, you're not.)

She stood up, "Rishi tum bacho ki tarra zid karahe ho." (Rishi you are behaving like a little kid.)

Replicating her actions I cross my arms, "Mera vaasla baadal na waala nahi hain...tum kuch nahi karogi and that's final Lakshmi." (My decision isnt going to change, you aren't helping and that's final Lakshmi.)

"Tum...Tum-" (You-) I shouldn't say it...but she looked so cute getting irritated...she started to breath faster and her nose had started to turn a little red.

"Kya mein kya?"I ask teasingly, (What?)

"Mujhe tumse baat hi nahi karni." (I am not talking to you.) Lakshmi stopped off, well limped off upstairs towards our room. Chuckling I shook my head, she was so stubborn like a little kid...like Minti...mujhe Mintu kehti hai na...(And she calls me Mintu.) Taking the glass off the table I put it in the kitchen.

Ayush cleared his throat walking into the kitchen, "What's up Bhai?"

I look at him suspiciously, "Nothing, tum batao..." (Nothing, what about you?)

Ayush jumped up on the counter beside me as I stood in front of him listening to him curiously, "Kuch nahi...matlab mein soch raha tha ki Diwali aa rahi hain...mein toh bohot exicted hoon." (Nothing, I mean I was just thinking that Diwali is coming soon and Im very exicted about it.)

Lakshmi told him to come...nodding along I listen to his rant that went on for a while, "Ayush...Ayush,"

"Yeah?"

"Baat kya hai?" (What's the matter?)

"Kuch bhi nahi!" (Nothing!) He said quickly jumping down, he cleared his throat..."Kaha vasadiya Lakshmi." (Why did you send me here Lakshmi...) I heard him mumble.

"Kya?" (What?) I ask purposely, "Saaf saaf batao Ayush...it's almost time for Lakshmi's medicines." (Ayush, say whatever you want clearly, it's almost time for Lakshmi's medicines.)

"Acha?" (Really?) He exhaled deeply, "Chalo agar Lakshmi ki baat aagi toh uski baat karlete hain...Rishi Bhai let her help...she really likes helping and you have seen she has done a good job." (Okay if we are talking about Lakshmi then, let's talk about her... Rishi Bhai let her help...she really likes helping and you have seen she has done a good job.)

"Ayush." I say firmly, "Lakshmi isn't helping."

"Rishi Bhai-"

"Sudeep!" I call cutting him off, "Sudeep, Lakshmi ki dawa uper humara kamra mein lejao...mein thora der mein aaraha hoon." (Sudeep, it's time to give her medicine take it up to our room, Im coming in a little bit.)

"Ji Bhaiji." Sudeep called back, (Okay, Bhaiji.)

I looked back over at Ayush, "I know Lakshmi wants to help but Ayush she needs rest...abhi abhi woh teek horahi hain toh itna stress acha nahi hain uske leeya." (She just got better and giving her stress isnt right.)

Ayush nodded, "She's really upset Bhai, aur aap se toh bohot zaada." (She's really mad at you.)

Smiling I shrugged, "That you don't worry about...mein maana loga." (I'll win her over again.)

"Kaisa?" He asked. (How?)

"Kaha na...don't worry about it." (Like I said...Don't worry about it.) Walking out of the kitchen I run upstairs to see Sudeep giving Lakshmi her medicines, she glances at me before sending Sudeep away...

Clearing my throat I sat down on the sofa turning on my lap, Lakshmi cutely was crossing her arms playing with her chudah (Wedding Bangles), hiding my smile I continue to type on it, the room was so quiet that was all you could hear.

She was serious...she wasnt talking to me...biting my lip I call Shalu, "Hello? Jiju?"

"Shalu...ek baat batna tumari Lakshmi Di hamesha itni ziddi thi ya mera saath hi zid karti hain." (Shalu, tell me something was Lakshmi always this stubborn, or is she only like this with me?)

Lakshmi's gaze snapped to meet mine, "Hamesha, jabhi Bhauji une rest karna keliya bolte Lakshmi Di zid karke kaam karna chooro kardeti thi. Per aap kyu pooch rahe hain? Lakshmi Di zidd karahi hain kya?" (She has always been this stubborn, Bhauji even got mad at her. But why are you asking?)

"Acha, toh yeh tumarha Bhauji ki bhi nahi sunti thi?" (Really? She didn't even listen to Bhauji?)

"Bilkul nahi." (Not at all.)

Lakshmi shook her head as she saw a smirk appear on my lips, "Shalu, agar kuch aur baataya na toh sochle mein kitna marogi aake." (Shalu! If you say anything else, watch how much I hit you.)

"Kyu? Tum Shalu ko kyu marogi?" (Why? Why will you hit Shalu?) I say firmly, "Shalu, don't worry...tum batao." (Shalu, don't worry...tell me more.)

"Shalu!" Lakshmi warned again.

Shalu laughed, "Am I on speaker?"

"Nope, Lakshmi is just a little moody today."

"Agar mood teek karna hoon Jiju toh Gulab Jamun samne rakdo...apne aap mood theek hojaga Di ka." (If you want to fix her mood then get her some gulab jamun, her mood will change instantly.)

"Gulab Jamun?"

Her eyes lit up but she quickly hid her excitement, "I don't want it."

"Di sirf ke rahi hain...ek baar samne rakh do phir dekhna kamal." (She's just acting, bring her some and see how happy she will be.)

Lakshmi glanced over at me, "Dekhta hoon." (I'll see.) I say absent-mindedly, "Thank you."

"All the best Jiju."

Hanging up the phone I keep the smirk planted across my face leaning back I keep looking at her, Lakshmi squinted her eyes at me, "What?"

"Nothing," I chuckled, "I can't look at my wife?"

Huffing she turned away grabbing her phone, "Shalu ki abhi class lagti hoon! Mein ziddi nahi hoon." (Let me talk to Shalu, I am not stubborn.)

"Mera gussa shalu per kyu nikalna?" (Why are you taking my anger out on her?) I say cheekily, "Mein tumara saamne toh behta hoon." (I am sitting right here.)

Ignoring me she called Shalu, "Haan ab bol, kya karahi thi tum Rishi se?" (What were you saying to Rishi?)

Quickly jumping up I grab the phone from her Lakshmi protested leaning foreward but I grabbed her arm keeping her back, "Shalu, Lakshmi baad mein baat karegi." (She'll talk to you later.)

"Bye Jiju." Shalu giggled,

"Rishi!" Lakshmi whined, but I grabbed her arms absent-mindedly throwing her phone to the side, I pull her close.

"Mrs Lakshmi Oberoi...itna gussa acha nahi hota." (Being this angry isnt good for health.)

"Chodo." (Let go.)

Yanking her closer I quickly wrap my arms around her waist, "What are you doing?"

"Lakshmi." I said firmly, "Please na...mujhse baat karo..." (Please talk to me.) Leaning closer I move her so she was sitting on top of my lap, "Dekho itni der se mein waha behta hoon aur tum mujhe ignore karahi ho." (I have been sitting there for so long and you have been ignoring me.)

Her breath hitched, we were so close to one another purposely brushing my fingers across my jaw bone I give her a crooked smile, "Lakshmi?" She was lost in my arms..."Sun rahi ho na?" (Are you listening?)

"Mmh?" She hummed, "Tum na bohot bura ho." (You're mean.)

"Kyu?" (Why?)

"Bas ho." (You just are.) Relaxing in my arms she laid her head down on my shoulder,

Inhaling deeply I wrap my arms around her body holding her close against me, "Agar mein Gulab Jamun leke aata hoon tabhi?" (What if I bring some Gulab Jamun will I still be mean?)

Lakshmi gently hit my chest, "Tab Bhi." (Yep.)

"Chole kulcha aur gulab jamun?"

A light chuckle escaped her mouth, "Mr. Rishi Oberoi..." She said lifting her head up so we were looking at one another, "Apni patni ko laalach derahe ho?" (Are you trying to bribe your wife?)

"Agar mein haan kaho toh?" (What if I say yes?)

"Badle mein kya chahiye aap ko?" (What do you want in return?)

"Buisnessman hoon...laalach ke badle mein koi choti baat nahi manguga." (I am a businessman, without motive I won't do anything.)

Lakshmi raised her eyebrows, "Batao kya chahiye?" (What do you want then?)

"Mujhe...bas tumhari muskurahat chahiye Lakshmi aur ke tum meri baat suno...bas kuch dino ki baat hain phir tum jitni bhi help karna chaho kar sakti hoon...per baat ko samajo pleae." (I just want you to keep smiling, and I need you to listen to me Lakshmi...it's only a few more days and then you can do whatever you want.)

She sighed, "Okay..."

"Okay?" I asked suprised, 'Itni der se zid pakarke behti ho aur ab itni jaldi maan bhi gya?" (After being so hard-headed you give in so easily now?)

"Tumne jo laalach diya tha uska naam sunka muhmein paani aagya," (Well ever since you mentioned gulab jamun and chole kulche my mouth has been watering.) Lakshmi admitted, "Ab jaldi jaldi jao aur mera chole kulcha and gulab jamun leka aahon." (Now go and get me them.)

Smiling I gently push her off standing up I grab my wallet, "Mein aata hoon per tumhe pata hain na tumhe kya karna hai?" (Alright I'll be right back but you know what to do right?)

"Rest..."

"Ab ki na meri Lakshmi waali baat, mein abhi leke aata hoon." I say rushing out of the room. (Now you are behaving my Lakshmi.)

Lakshmi...no one is more important than her...no one.
