begin

to begin is to start afresh, on a clean slate, working to become a better person, a better version of your past self. you begin in the present, leaving behind your past self, your old ways and bad habits to build a new future; your own future.

to me, to begin is like to reset (I wanna reset I wanna reset I wanna reset), in order to face myself and to sort out all the messes in my life, in order to truly make a difference – to change in a new way; reset in order to walk out of the darkness and welcome the warm light rays that will soon fill the whole of my heart.

a new beginning takes courage. no matter what, start somewhere. it is that first step of courage that makes all the difference. small actions everyday will build onto something. even if you falter along the way on this journey, you have begun. you have hope that takes root in your heart because you took that most difficult step of all, you took a leap of faith.

this is what i'll say to myself every moment of the day from now on. even despite the growing uncertainties, the fears, the questions and the worries, I have to START somewhere, somehow.
