CHAPTER 35

Superior Life Force. Devil Knows Now..!

"Uhh... Ino, why are we here again...?" a perplexed Naruto asked his blonde friend.

"Well... Yesterday when we had all the talk that we might not be able to gather again as a complete group cause we graduated, I had a thought that why don't we try something fun on this night before we are assigned into teams tomorrow..." Ino replied a little loud so all her friends gathered there could hear her while removing a bang of hair that had fallen onto her left eye and tucked it behind her ear.

For a minute, Ino looked like an angel for Naruto's eyes as moonlight was shining behind her. Naruto tried shaking his head a little to shake off that feeling. Eevee who was resting near Naruto's left side lifted her head in curiosity at Ino's words.

"What a drag..." mumbled Shikamaru while looking at the stars in the night sky. After few seconds, he sat up facing the others who are gathered around in a circle. He released a sigh before saying, "So why are we all here in my clan grounds and what's your plan for the night...?"

"Well... I saw a movie where people can talk to the dead with a board and now we are also gonna try it..." Ino replied and unsealed a Ouija board from her supplies.

"Really Ino-pig...? That's your big idea of having fun...? You believe in that shit...?" A pink haired banshee shouted with a laugh that no one joined in.

"Even if it works... I don't think we should disturb the people who passed away..." Hinata said gently.

"Hey Eevee...?" Naruto silently called to his companion turning towards her with a hand cupping over on one side of his mouth so that the arguing girls and his other friends could not hear him. When Eevee turned her attention back from the arguing girls to him he continued, "Is it just me or do both Ino and Hinata look like angels for real?" as he could not help but notice that Hinata's eyes are shining like the moon itself.

Eevee gave mischievous smile of her own and yipped a little. Naruto got baffled at her response and shouted, "Hey...! You know it's not like that...!"

"What is... (munching chips) not like that Naruto...? (munching chips)"

Naruto found out a little too late that his outburst was a little too loud. He noticed that all the eyes were on him now. He turned to Eevee for a little help who in turn gave a small shrug and went back to licking her paws. The blond boy had a distinct belief that she wanted to say, Your problem.

"What was that Naruto...?" the pink banshee known as Sakura screamed again when the blond boy was having a blank look.

"Oh, it's nothing Sakura..." Naruto replied while holding palms over his chest and tilting backwards with concerned look, in an effort to persuade Sakura to calm down and tried hard to salvage the situation.

"Well... Could we summon a succubus...?" Kiba asked all of a sudden with a perverted grin. The dog boy was high on hormones, no doubt.

"That Ouija game is just meant for children. However, even if you somehow summon the succubus by some miracle I doubt it will take a liking to you Kiba." Shino replied.

The others started laughing hysterically, but it took a moment for Kiba to understand the joke on him and shouted while pointing at Shino accusingly, "Hey...! Take that back..." However, his dog companion on his head barked approvingly at Shino with a raised dual paw like he was giving a double thumbs up for Shino's savageness. "Don't agree with him you traitor..." Kiba shot back to his own companion balling his fist in embarrassment.

"Well in any case... I agree with Hinata that we should not dis..." Naruto was cut short when someone else spoke up suddenly.

"Can we really talk to dead people...?" Sasuke asked breaking his silence since he came to the Nara clan grounds with his peers.

"Hmm... It says that we can on the box this board came in." Ino replied.

"Let's do it." Sasuke said calmly without any emotion on the outside, but he could not fool Naruto though as the blond boy sensed a strong need for closure emitting in waves from Sasuke.

Hinata was about to protest but could not as Naruto said, "Yeah Let's do it."

After they gathered in a perfect circle, Ino set up the board. "Well the rules are simple... Never play alone, Never play in graveyard, Never be disrespectful and Always say good bye..." She said while lighting up a candle near them placed in such a way that it won't come in the way of their hand movements while playing.

"Wow Ino-pig... You just sounded like the Blair Witch to me..." Sakura said trying to one up Ino to look good in front of duckbutt haired boy. But she was taken back a little when the blonde girl didn't argue with her to compete for winning Sasuke over and instead said, "Well put your hands on it..."

Every pone put their hands on the planchette and started to move it around the board while chanting as one, "As friends we have gathered... Hearts are true... Spirits near we call to you..."

(A Realm Far Beyond The Human Plane of Existence...)

Malthus, Valak, Pazuzu, Paimon, Ghouls and many other ancient demons living in their own domains and craving human souls have all sensed a soul with superior life force which is trying to connect with the spiritual realm. As soon as they sensed it, they all wanted it for themselves, but not all of them could walk into the physical plane of existence. Valak and Malthus were the only demons who have consumed enough human souls to walk the physical plane of existence to claim the soul they have sensed, so they immediately set out on a hunt from their respective domains.
