(The Next Morning... During The Journey To The Leaf Village...)

"So... You're a Jounin..?"

"Yes."

"And you're the strongest ninja in Leaf after Pervy sage..?" Naruto asked again all the while ignoring the indignant shout of 'HEY...!' Coming from the said Pervy sage himself.

"I think so..."

"Are Jounin supposed to lie..?"

"huh..?" was the intelligent reply from the silver haired shinobi. It had been quite some sime since the two S ranked Sannin, two A ranked Shinobi and an 8 year old Naruto along with Eevee started their journey towards Leaf village and the blond boy got bored of having nothing to do but just walking. So he decided to get know this person who according to his mother had worked under his father as a Genin.

"I can sense you're lying..." Naruto said looking straight into the Jounin's single visible eye as he got in front of Kakashi and started to walk backwards, to which Eevee also yipped agreeing with the blond boy.

"You can sense lies..?" Kakashi asked in genuine surprise.

"I have never seen anyone who showed as much talent as to be a sensory type on the level of my Grand uncle Tobirama Senju, until my son came along." It was Tsunade who replied with a smile. "If given the right training, I believe he may one day surpass him too..."

"Yes...! I will surpass all the previous Hokage... Believe it...!" Naruto exclaimed jumping into the air raising a fist to which Eevee made some yipping noises that sounded like 'Belive it', earning some giggles from his sister.

"Well... Aren't you a hyperactive knuckle head then...?" Kakashi said giving his signature eye smile.

"Yes...!" Naruto replied and started to walk along the right side of his mother and Eevee also fell in step along side him. "You still haven't answered why you lied about being the second strongest ninja after Pervy sage..." He questioned glancing over his back to Kakashi who was walking on his right side a few steps behind.

"Well I am not the second strongest... There is another who is stronger than me, even though I would never admit it to him..." Kakashi replied.

"huh..? why won't you admit...?"

"If I admit to him that he is already stronger than me, then he will stop pushing himself further and will stop challenging me..." Kakashi said and gave a small pause trying to think of a better way to explain and continued again, "Even though his challenges seem ridiculous most of the times, they will encourage me to break my own limits and advance even further..."

"Alright..! Now I get it... You want an eternal rival...!" Naruto said getting a lazy nod from Kakashi.

Hearing this conversation, Tsunade became suspicious and made some hand signs that can be noticed by Jiraiya only, so she can communicate with her old teammate.

If Kakashi is not the strongest shinobi after you, then why is he sent here? Asked Tsunade.

Major unrest is going on with the Uchihas in the village. Sensei wanted Kakashi to be out of the village for some time as he has an implanted Sharingan. Jiraiya replied to which Tsunade nodded.

"So you will participate in all the challenges he throws at you..?" Asked Naruto not knowing about the silent conversation between his mother and his godfather.

"No... No... No..." Kakashi interrupted the blond boy with a sweat drop and paused to release a sigh and continued again, "Most of the times when his challenges seem utterly ridiculous, I just pretend that I never heard him..."

"Huh...? Pretending you never heard him..? How is that even possible..?" Naruto replied now facing the Jounin with eyes scrunched in confusion, but still walking backwards to keep in pace with others.

"Well whenever he comes up with something ridiculous, I simply say 5 words..."

"What are those..? Magical enchantments..?" after seeing a negative head shake from Kakashi, Naruto asked again, "Tell me what are those 5 words.."

"Hmmm...? Did you say something..?" Kakashi replied with his signature eye smile.

(The Leaf Village... Training Ground 9...)

A certain bowl cut haired, bushier eyebrowed and green spandex wearing Jounin suddenly lost his balance as he was climbing a mountain with a 5 tons rock tied to his back and fell all the way down. As soon as the debris settled down, the weird looking Jounin rose up and shouted, "DAMN YOU KAKASHI AND YOUR HIP ATTITUDE...!"

(Land of Waves... Unknown Location...)

"Zori... Waraji..." A midget man started to say addressing his bodyguards. "As per the information given by my spies, The Legendary Sannin had left The Land of Waves on a journey back to The Leaf Village. She may not return and even if she returns, it will be after a very long time. So time has come for us to move and grab The Land of Waves with an iron fist." He said and approached a nearby map of the elemental nations on the wall and pointed to where Land of Waves is located and continued, "Land of Waves has trading routes with the other villages only by sea. I am gonna capitalize on this by buying all the ports and all shipping organizations in Wave." He turned to face his bodyguards again and said, "Buy from them, blackmail them, kidnap them or murder them... I don't care... By this date next month, I want all trading sea routes for Land of Waves under my command."

"As you wish Gato-sama..." Zori and Waraji replied as one to their boss and left to do as they were told.

Once his bodyguards were out of the room, Gato took out a cigar from his pocket and lit it with a matchstick. "When I have control over the sea routes to Wave..." He started saying to himself and paused to exhale the smoke from his cigar and continued again, "...I will have complete control over The Land of Waves." After finishing his sentence, he threw the still burning matchstick on to the map, which ignited flames where Wave is located on the map before falling down, marking the start of the dark times for Land of Waves amidst the maniacal laughter of Gato.

Well For Every Major Turn of Events, There Should Always Be A Major Time Skip.

Since this is my fanfiction, I will be making some major and minor changes to the original story as I see fit for my fanfiction to evolve... Hopefully you all will like the changes I am gonna do in future...

In the Next chapter, Naruto may or may not meet up with the rookies. And for the story's sake I won't be spoiling any more, LOL.
