it was just supposed to be a nice sleigh ride, North promising to take it easy, Jacks Pookan stomach was more sensitive than his human form. wild rides generally left both Pooka sick for the rest of the day, and sometime the day after.

North had promised to take it easy, for both Bunny and Jacks sakes.

North lied.

"North! knock it off! you're gonna make us sick!" Jack growls from his seat behind North. Jacks sitting right next to Bunny. his ill looking mate already looks ready to puke and has redug his usual gouges in the red sleigh paneling. Jack looks bad, but not as bad as Bunny. the slightly bigger Pooka is clutching his mates paw desperately, trying to keep control of his stomach. Jack can at least talk, Bunny can't find it in him to form words between the loops and rolls North is doing with the sleigh.

"bah! is all in good fun!" North grins, turning back to look at them briefly.

"its not fun, North! Bunny is fucking green!" Jack growls. "you promised to take it easy!" Jack hisses.

"North, maybe you should slow down a little...." Tooth says, hesitantly. she looks at Jack and Bunny, neither of them look good.

"he will be fine!" North snorts. he grins doing a little loop, but its quickly wiped off his face when an awful retching sound comes from behind him and his back is suddenly soaked.

"oh gross! North! you idiot!" Tooth shouts, scrambling away. Sandy isn't far behind her. both putting as much space between them and the two Pooka as possible. North lands the sleigh quickly.

"nice job jackass!" Jack growls. he sounds absolutely furious.

North turns around to see everything in front of Bunny, including his back, is absolutely covered in puke.

Jack is knelt beside Bunny, both absolutely covered in puke as well, gently wiping at his ill mates face.

"North! you idiot! I fucking told you to take it easy! look what you did! look at him! you made him sick!" Jack growls, turning his head to glare at the Guardian of Wonder.

"I am sorry, it was all in good fun-" North tries.

"fun? FUN?! does it really look like either of us are having fun!? for fuck sakes North you promised to take it easy! you promised no tricks and then you made him puke!" Jack growls. North looks over at Bunny, the poor Pooka looks absolutely miserable, leaned against Jack. "does that look fun to you?" Jack snaps.

"I did not mean to-" North tries again.

"save it for someone who fucking cares!" Jack snaps. he turns back to the slightly bigger Pooka. "c'mon Bunny." Jack murmurs gently.

he carefully helps Bunny stand on shaky legs. Jack is thankful they're almost the same size, moving Bunny is easier like this. the other only has an inch on him like this, so it'll be easier to help maneuver him.

"what are you doing Jack?" Tooth asks, confused.

"what does it look like?" Jack snaps. "getting Bunny off this stupid sleigh and back to the Warren to get cleaned up." Jack huffs.

"we can take Bunny back to Pole, get him clean there." North says.

"with you driving? I think not." Jack huffs, letting Bunny lean his full weight against him.

"I will be careful-" North starts.

"yeah, I've heard that bullshit before." Jack scoffs. he helps Bunny off the sleigh carefully and back onto solid ground. Sandy hops off the slay quickly to help, but Jack waves him off.

"I got him." Jack assures.

are you sure?

Sandy asks, looking up at Jack.

Jack simply nods, tapping the ground and opening a tunnel.

"can you make it down without getting sick again?" Jack asks, looking at Bunny.

"one way t' find out." Bunny mumbles. Jack nods slightly.

they find, upon jumping down into the tunnel together that, no, Bunny could not get down without getting sick again. before the tunnel closes, the other three guardians hear that awful retching sound again and a quiet, but audible "sorry mate..." from Bunny.

"don't worry about it, its alright." Jack assures.

the tunnel closes, and Bunny leans heavily on Jack, before the shorter helps him sit down.

"lets just wait here a bit, alright? let your stomach settle before moving again." Jack murmurs. Bunny nods in agreement.

"sorry again. gonna be hard to get the smell outta yer fur." Bunny mumbles.

"its not your fault, Aster. you're okay. I can't believe that idiot did this. he promised." Jack huffs.

"he always does." Bunny mumbles.

"this has happened before?" Jack asks, looking at his mate concerned. Bunny gives a small nod.

"never gotten sick before from it, but yeah." Bunny mumbles.

"yeah but you're still recovering from the chocolate incident." Jack frowns. "getting sick everywhere was not your fault and North deserved it for being an idiot." Jack frowns.

"you needed me help." Bunny mumbles.

"yeah, but still, I'll never forget that look on your face. I know it hurt... it made you really sick too." Jack murmurs softly. Bunny gives him a small smile.

"I'd do it again fer ye any time. its a last resort." Bunny murmurs.

"I know." Jack smiles at him a little.

"I'll be fine, Yaca, just sore and smelly fer a bit." Bunny murmurs. Jack laughs and, despite the bile all over them both, nuzzles Bunnts cheek.

"I'm smelly too." Jack chuckles. "ready to get moving?" he asks.

"yeah, lets go, tunnels startin' t' stink." Bunny grumbles. Jack laughs again, helping him up off the ground carefully.

Jack leaves Bunny only briefly and only in the door of the den, so he can get bath water started, they would get a shower first, of course, but a bath with Bunnys good soap, would help with getting the smell off them and out of their fur, hopefully.

"alright Cottontail, kets get you in the shower." Jack smiles, helping Bunny into the bathroom.

"lets get it over with, I smell." Bunny mutters.

"I'll get you taken care of." Jack assures gently, smiling. Bunny's body is still shaking but Jack still manages to get him in the shower, without either of them falling.

"Jack! Bunny!" Tooth calls. Jack glares at the door way.

"oh for the love of, damn it, stay here Aster, I'll be right back." Jack grumbles.

"didn' really plan on movin'." Bunny mumbles, leaning against the shower. Jack helps him sit in the shower carefully, he doesn't want him to fall.

Jack heads out of the washroom, his ears and tail show just how annoyed he is at being called out. he's dripping water and puke all over the floor and makes a note to clean it up later.

Tooth and Sandy look surprised at his annoyance.

"Jack, hows Bunny? oh... uh, you smell." Tooth says, hesitantly, turning away.

"gee, fucking thanks, what do you want?" Jack glares.

"hows Bunny?" Tooth asks, covering her nose. Jack glares at her.

"recovering in the washroom, bye." Jack snaps. he storms back towards the bathroom.

"Jack, are you alright?" Tooth asks.

"no, Tooth, I'm not alright. North ignored us, broke his promise. he hurt Aster." Jack growls.

"Jack-" Tooth tries.

"Tooth, I have puke in places it should never be, its soaking into my fur. I smell and my mate is currently curled up in the floor of our shower because he's shaking too bad to stand on his own. I'm not okay, I'm angry, I'm pissed, I'm furious! North ignored my warning, Bunnys warning, your warning. North ignored us and he caused this. its all his fault and despite that, Bunny feels guilty about getting sick. so no I'm not fucking alright." Jack growls. he storms back into the washroom, slamming the door behind him. he shuts off the water to the bath, watching it steam, it'll be too hot for either of them to get in.

"y'alright Frostbite?" Bunny mumbles. Jack smiles slightly, kneeling next to the shower.

"yep, just gross." Jack murmurs. Bunny winces slightly.

"sorry mate." Bunny murmurs.

"I told you, its not your fault." Jack murmurs gently. "none of what happened is your fault." Jack murmurs.

"me fault or not, its me puke yer covered in, an m'still sorry." Bunny says.

"its not like you did it on purpose. North made you sick, Aster. I'm not mad at you. this wasn't your fault, you tried not to get it on me and the wind blew it back at us. its okay." Jack assures. Bunny frowns at him. "now sit here and soak in the water. I'll get a rag." Jack smiles. Bunny watches him walk off.

he comes back a minute later and slips into the shower, crouching in front of Bunny.

"alright straighten out a bit, we'll get what we can off in here." Jack smiles.

"might be easier if you help me stand up." Bunny murmurs.

"do you think you can stand?" Jack asks.

"one way t' find out." Bunny murmurs. Jack smiles slightly and pulls him up to his feet carefully.

"just lean back against the wall. I'm a stable wall, lean on me if you need to." Jack assures. Bunny nods slightly, leaning back against the wall. "are you alright?" Jack asks, looking up at him, half crouched to clean his torso.

"m'getting there." Bunny mumbles. Jack nods.

he rinses them both off in the shower, Bunny finally having regained control of himself and stopped shaking, and by the time they get out, the water in the bath is the perfect temperature. he pours some of Bunnys good soap in the water and watches Bunny climb in. he crouches by the tub.

"ye can get in here too, yer gonna need it t' smell better." Bunny mutters.

"I'm okay, waters too hot." Jack says.

"s'not hot Jack, yer not gonna melt." Bunny assures. Jack frowns.

"remember the last bath we took together? when we accidentally rolled in poison ivy?" Jack asks. Jack had accidentally frozen the tub and couldn't stop laughing long enough to unfreeze it, Bunny had ended up sick.

"yer a Pooka right now, I know ya still have yer powers, but its fine. if it happens again I'll jus' turn on the hot water." Bunny assures. Jack looks hesitant, but climbs in with him. Bunny scoots closer to the faucet, making sure to keep his arms above the water in case it freezes over. Jack settles in. the tub is bigger than necessary for both of them to fit, so it gives them room to stretch out.

"how long do you think we'll smell?" Jack asks, looking at his mate. Bunny shrugs.

"not as long as Norths sleigh." Bunny smiles. Jack laughs and leans back in the water.

"I will never forgive him." Jack huffs.

"no more sleigh rides." Bunny says.

"agreed. I'm never getting in that sleigh again." Jack frowns. "I have never felt so sick in my life." Jack adds.

"I've never puked because a sleigh ride." Bunny says.

"I can't believe he didn't listen to us." Jack frowns.

"part of Norths charm." Bunny grumbles. Jack leans forward and cuddles himself into the biggers chest.

"m'sorry I didn't listen to you either... you said you didn't want to get in the sleigh, I should've listened. I wasn't any better than North." Jack murmurs.

"Jack, love, ye've always seen the best in others, ye wanted to believe North would keep his word. s'not yer fault. some lessons have t' be learned in person." Bunny murmurs.

"but not at your expense." Jack frowns. Bunny shakes his head and pulls Jack into his chest.

"just relax. everythin' is fine now." Bunny murmurs. fine, sure. everything was fine, but everything would be better when Jack got his revenge for Bunny.
