No One's POV

Off Jack and Crystal's confusion, yetis light ceremonial torches which startled Crystal. Elves leap from columns, unfurling homemade, celebratory banners as they descend. Jack brushes off a few baby teeth who try to present him with a necklace made of paper snowflakes, Crystal went a little closer to Jack when the little baby teeth try to present Crystal with the necklace made of paper snowflakes.

JACK: What are you doing! Get, get that offa me!

CRYSTAL: What's going on?!

Jack's voice is drowned out by the sounds of horns and drums, and so did Crystal's voice.

NORTH: This is the best part!

An Elf marching band strikes up, marching into the room. Two yetis move Jack and Crystal on to a designated spot on the floor. Jack looks down to find an elf pointing at his bare feet.

The elf then directs his attention to two approaching elves, carrying a pair of ceremonial boots. Jack's confusion escalates, and that made Crystal confused also cause she knows that he doesn't wear shoes.

JACK: Huh?

A Yeti hands North an old large book. North blows off the dust, opens it, and begins clearing his throat. Jack clenches his jaw as he scans the room:

The Mini Teeth continue to fawn, Sandy's smiling, Bunny's apathetic, and North looks on with pride. Then he sees Crystal, looking really scared and about to burst into tears since her ears are very sensitive from loud things, he then sees a bit of blood come out of her left ear. That. Made. Him. Snapped.

JACK: Get behind me, Crystal.

CRYSTAL: What are you—

JACK: Just trust me, okay?

Crystal wanted to say more, but nodded and went behind him. Jack suddenly SLAMS his staff down, sending a blast of frost and wind across the room. The torches go out and everything stops. That made Crystal relief that there's no louder sounds or music, Jack turns to wipe the blood out of her ear so no one will see and then turn back to the Guardians with an irritating look on his face.

JACK: What makes you think we want to be Guardians?

It was quiet at first, until North bursts out in laughter holding the book in his hands then stops and looks to Jack and Crystal, smiling a little.

NORTH: Of course you do! (to the elves) Music!

The elves blare the trumpets again. To celebrate again!

JACK: No music!

The music peters out again. An elf throws his trumpet to the ground and storms off, not before he pushed the other elf. North look displeased, glowers.

JACK: Look, this is all very flattering, but ah... you don't want me, or my sister. You're all hard work and deadlines, I'm snowballs and fun times—

CRYSTAL: And I have other things to do then doing... this...

JACK & CRYSTAL: We are not Guardians.

BUNNYMUND: Yeah, that's exactly what I said!

Crystal stiffens a bit, then her deer ears went down to the sadness of what he said as she covers her mouth with her big scarf so they won't see her frown.

TOOTH: Jack, Crystal... I don't think you understand what it is we do.

Tooth swoops in and turns Jack and Crystal's attention to the massive globe behind them.

TOOTH: Each of those lights is a child.

Jack and Crystal look up at the Globe, taking in the enormity of this. North suddenly moves to Jack's left side as Crystal moved to Jack's right side.

NORTH: A child who believes. And good or bad, naughty or nice, we protect them.

Jack was about to say something but he can't due to having fingers in his mouth

NORTH: Tooth...fingers out of his mouth.

TOOTH (REMOVES FINGERS): Oh, sorry. They're beautiful. Yours too Crystal.

Jack and Crystal move away from the Globe and back toward the center of the room.

NORTH: Okay, no more wishy-washy! Pitch is out there doing who knows what!

JACK (SCOFFS): You mean the Boogeyman?

CRYSTAL: Boogeyman?...

NORTH: Yes! When Pitch threatens us, he threatens them as well.

North points to the lights on the globe. Which got Crystal curiosity to rise up more as she uncovered her mouth from her big scarf and her deer ears went up slightly.

JACK: All the more reason to pick someone more qualified!

NORTH: Pick? Do you think we pick? No, both of you were chosen like we were all chosen. By Man in Moon.

Jack turns and looks to the group with an unbelievable expression on his face, while Crystal is shocked as her deer ears went up of what he means and quickly turns around to look at them.

JACK & CRYSTAL (stares, dumbstruck): What?...

TOOTH: Last night, Jack, Crystal. He chose you two.

BUNNYMUND: Maybe.

JACK: The Man in the Moon, he talks to you?

Jack and Crystal look up to the skylight, taking in the sight of the moon as it shines down on Earth.

NORTH: You see, you two cannot say no. It is destiny.

Jack and Crystal are still confused by the news. What does it mean?

JACK: But why, why wouldn't he tell us that himself? (EXASPERATED EXHALE)

CRYSTAL (quietly): After 300 years...

JACK: This is his answer? To spend eternity like you guys cooped up in some, some hideout thinking of, of new ways to bribe kids?!

CRYSTAL: Jack... let's just leave...

Jack turned to Crystal to see her worried yet sad as she grabs his upper arm of his sleeve, Jack sigh softly to calm himself as he looks at her again, then look back at the Guardians.

JACK: No offense, but that is not for me or for Crystal!

Jack and Crystal turn to leave, leaving the Guardians stunned. Except for Bunny, who is relieved by this yet upset that Crystal is leaving, he turns and looks to the others.

BUNNYMUND: H-How is that not offensive?! Do you know what I think? I think we just dodged a bullet. I mean, what're these clowns know about bringing joy to children anyway?

Jack and Crystal stopped and he turns back seeing Bunny scratching an itch on his cheek with his foot, but Crystal didn't as her body is shaken. Jack's a little pissed, cause 1: of what Bunny said, and 2: he saw Crystal shaken as if she's taken all of his words.

JACK: Uhh, you ever hear of a snow day? I know it's no hard-boiled egg, but kids like what I do. They also like Crystal's work.

BUNNYMUND: But none of 'em believe in you two. Do they? You see, you're two invisible, mate. (leans into the two, but not too much) It's like you two don't even exist.

TOOTH: Bunny! Enough!

Silence. Jack tries not to look stung by this, but Crystal is showing some emotions as she starts to grip on his sleeve and starting to shake more. Jack saw this, so he instead of calling his name, he said his name differently.

JACK: No, the kangaroo's right.

Crystal stops shaking and starts to relax her grip that is on his sleeve, then she covers her mouth and giggled a bit, which made Jack relief and smiling that he made her smile a bit.

BUNNYMUND (GLARES): The, the what— what'd you call me? I am not a kangaroo, mate.

Crystal stop giggling as she uncovers her mouth with her paw, and then trying to stop Jack from talking more as if she'd knows what's going to happen, but it was already too late.

JACK: Oh. And this whole time I thought you were. If you're not a kangaroo, what are you?

BUNNYMUND: I'm a bunny. The Easter Bunny. People believe in me.

Jack was still glaring at him, but had some tears in his eyes but won't let them fall down on his face. He then felt a grip on his sleeve tightened more, which made him turn and saw what shocks him and the other Guardians, even for Bunnymund.

Crystal's eyes was covered from her bangs, but her tears weren't covered... they were showing, and she was breathing heavily as if she can't breathe, when her tears fell to the ground, it turns to streaks of frost growing more and started to go up to the pillars.

Crystal then started to collapse, but Jack caught her before she fell to the ground, and she then cry softly onto his chest as she clings to him as if she's going to disappear, Jack then wrapped his arms around her and put his chin on top of her head in comfort, he glared at Bunny with hatred in his eyes, but then close them as he start to calm her down by using words carefully.

CRYSTAL (muffled into his jacket): W-What if he's right, Jack?... w-what if we d-don't be believe in?... w-what if w-we're going to be invincible... f-forever?...

JACK: Don't worry, we're going to believe in soon or later on. Just believe in yourself and we're going to be okay.

CRYSTAL (looks at Jack): B-But—

JACK (cuts her off): No buts, don't assume things first, and don't let people's words get to you. We are going to be believe in, just not now. All we need to do, is wait, okay?

Jack then wipe her tears away and caresses her cheek gently as he smiled at her, which made her smile back as the streak of frost disappeared like thin air, Jack stands up and help Crystal stand up as she lean into him since she's very weak due to crying and her powers were almost out of control.

Bunnymund started to regret of what he said as he lowered his ears down in shame and backs up slowly, Sandy puff his cheeks then nudges to North, who acknowledges the tension in the air.

NORTH (TO JACK & CRYSTAL): Jack. Crystal. Walk with me.
