Chapter Three: Free Falling Once Again
I didn't wait for an explanation. I went back up the stairs as they scrambled around, my next moves unpredictable. I quickly got changed, before slamming through the door. I wasn't mad, no; I could never be mad at my half brother.
I was fucking pissed.
I now stood out on the balcony, my body swaying back and forth gently in the breeze, my cloak-like clothing moving about more frantically, my hair following the motion of my clothing.
I stared down at the shining lights of Craftopia, my eyes narrowed and my gaze hardened. My breathing was shallow but fast, and my posture was hardened and tense.
"Skye! What are you doing!?"
Heiro's voice broke through my fazed state, and absentmindedly my eyes shifted back to caught a glimpse of him without Scarlet.
I hadn't used my wings yet.
And I haven't used wings in general for over a year,
Let alone mechinal ones.
But there was no time like the present.
I turned around slowly, my eyes shifting from the ground up progressive to Heiro's minty dull eyes. I lifted my foot up, and leaned back.
The wind hit my back to hard. I hadn't had this feeling in such along time, so now that I was free falling from a tweny-five story apartment complex, it felt almost like a dream. Heiro's hollers in protest echoed against the outer exterior walls of the building.
Now, assuming these wings are linked to major nerves, it shoudn't be a big problem to use them. I flexed my back muscles, the wings just barely budging. it seemed i'd have to use more strength to move the wings rather than when I had actual wings. I flexed my back harder, and they final fluttered up and down. I could now hear loud protest and gasp coming from below, and I twisted my head just in time to hastily spin back around, my eyes set on a clear spot on the brick streets on Craftopia. My body twisted and contorted as I attempted to get use to flying again. I was alot more differcult with mechainal wings, but thankfully the metal felt light weight enough for flight.
I contorted my head around, my body smashing into the brick road with a hurtful clank and a loud crack. My head hurt way more then it should have, but what really startled me was the fact that I was still even alive. I hadn't used wings in over a year, and yet here I was; blood dripping from my nose, scratches and bruises on my body, but still alive.
I'm still alive.
I was almost excited, but I knew there was no time for a victory lap, I had a kingdom to rescue. Hopefully she wasn't as ruthless as I had first assumed. Maybe she... changed? Heroerbus? Being nice? Seemed more like a dream; but I could hope.
And as always, my hope was sort lived. I gaze around, a new found angery bubbled inside of the pit of my heart. The kingdom was almost abandoned, though the kingdom walls surprisingly still almost intact. Nightmare was no where to be found, and only four towers remained.
What happened..?
I walked slowly, my hand outstreached slowly toward the main city waterfountion. It was chipped and nothing came out of it, the glowstone that was inside now dull and cracked.
My eyes wondered. The place was completely empty except for a few silverfish running about. It pained me. This is wear I grew up. This is were my history - my roots were made. And now its deserted. It's gone.
"You've awoken? Tsk, a true shame. I thought you had finally died!" She smirked down upon me. I was the true queen of this dimension. She had no right being here. Especially since she's a Herobrine's twin.
"Well, you were truely mistaken, Auntie Heroerbus. Last time we met we we're interpreted, but this time I'm alive with no distractions and ready to kick your ass once and for all."
A very short chapter because I haven't updated this book in like five months and I thought it would be a very nice cliffhanger before I start up and writing it again. Expect a new chapter in a week or so and regular updates at least a few times a month. Sorry for the delay. Please stay tuned!
