Chapter Thirty-five: The Crowning of the Sea
Just after Thalia declared herself Percy's queen, an ancient, powerful force rippled through the room. The ocean's energy seemed to respond, and before Percy or Thalia could process what was happening, their bodies began to glow. Soft, ethereal light surrounded them, as if the sea itself was blessing their union.
Percy felt an overwhelming warmth, like the ocean was surging through his veins. The glow around him intensified, and his casual clothes faded away, replaced by attire fit for a ruler of the deep. His new outfit shimmered like the ocean-deep blues, iridescent greens, and silver that seemed to catch the light like the surface of water at sunset. A flowing cape trailed behind him, its edges rippling like waves in the wind. A crown materialized on his head, crafted from coral and adorned with pearls, gold, and sea glass, signifying his new status as the rightful god of the sea.
Beside him, Thalia's transformation was just as stunning. Her usual battle-worn leather jacket and jeans dissolved into regal armor, glinting silver and blue like storm-tossed waves. The armor had lightning patterns etched into it, a nod to her father Zeus. She looked both fierce and elegant, with a crown of silver and storm clouds settling on her brow, lightning flickering faintly around her as if she were born of the storm itself.
Percy stared at her, awestruck by the transformation. Thalia met his gaze with determination in her eyes. "I told you, Percy," she said with a small smirk, "you're going to need someone to keep you grounded."
Suddenly, the glowing light spread outwards from Percy and Thalia, touching their friends standing nearby. Jason, Nico, Piper, and Will were enveloped in the same ethereal light, their forms changing as well.
Jason's casual shirt and jeans shifted into gleaming armor, bright gold and silver, with intricate designs that crackled with energy like the storm he commanded. His cape fluttered behind him, and though he wore no crown, he looked every bit the warrior and trusted royal knight of the king and queen.
Nico's black clothing turned into regal yet somber attire, dark as the night sky with silver accents. His new look was reminiscent of shadows, with a subtle glow around him that whispered of his connection to the Underworld. A sword hung at his side, and though his stance remained defiant, he looked like a knight who had seen countless battles and yet still stood ready.
Piper's transformation was equally magnificent. Her bohemian style turned into royal advisor's robes, decorated with warm earth tones and the colors of the wind. Her hair fell in elegant waves, and she had a grace about her that made it clear she was not just any advisor but someone who carried wisdom and strength in equal measure.
Lastly, Will's healer's tunic morphed into white and gold robes, radiant with light. His new look radiated purity and strength, a protector and healer in the court of gods. He was the one who would heal their wounds, both physical and emotional, standing by their side as they faced the challenges ahead.
The room was silent as the light finally dimmed, revealing the group in their new forms-royalty, advisors, and knights of the new era. The Atlantean royal family watched with approval, their gazes fixed on Percy, now crowned and adorned as the rightful sea god.
Percy could barely believe it. "I didn't ask for this," he muttered, looking at the crown on his head as if it didn't belong there.
Thalia stepped closer, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "It's yours, Percy. You can't run from it."
He met her eyes and nodded, understanding sinking in. "I guess... I'm really a king now."
The royal family stepped forward, their leader bowing his head in acknowledgment. "The throne is yours, Lord Percy," he said solemnly. "Atlantis will follow you. We relinquish the crown willingly."
Percy tried to protest, but the power of the sea surged within him, and he knew-there was no escaping it. The throne was his, and there was no turning back now.
With Thalia by his side, crowned and armored like the queen of storms, and their friends dressed as trusted advisors and protectors, Percy accepted the new reality of his reign. Together, they would face whatever came next, stronger and united as a new royal court.
