Prelude:
This has to work. Otherwise, we will all be in danger. Veronica thought as she concentrated on opening the time portal. She had to get this right. Once again, everyone was counting on her to save the day. That's just how it was for the leader of the Radiance Guardians. She never got a chance to have a break. Then again, even if she had one, she would just jump onto another project. Veronica hated doing nothing.
"My love, are you sure this is a good idea?" Daniel wondered as he scribbled into his notebook, "Won't Eclipse try to stop you since you are messing with the timeline?"
Veronica sighed at him, "Don't worry about her. The goddess of time and space actually approved of this venture. She said it was finally time for the prophecy to begin."
"Normally, I wouldn't find that reassuring, but in this case, I will," Daniel commented.
"I know what you mean, but I'm willing to do anything to get our daughter back. Even if it means working with her." Veronica bitterly said aloud. She wasn't bitter towards Daniel, rather she was bitter with her great-grandmother.
"Once you do this, there is no going back. Do you understand this?" Daniel warned Veronica.
"I know the risks and I'm willing to pay the price in order to save the future," Veronica replied.
WHOOOSH! The portal finally opened with a circle of blue and turquoise wavy patterns. Just looking at it almost felt like she was being hypnotized by it. Veronica stared at the portal thinking, This is going to change everything. I just hope that he trusts me enough to do this.
As she was thinking, Daniel, walked up behind her and gave her a comforting hug, "Hey, I know this isn't easy, but I promise that everything will work out the way we want it to."
She turned around and embraced him, "You can't know that for sure."
"True, but I can always count on you to succeed at getting what you want." He smiled as he lifted her chin so she could look at him. She chuckled and then she gave him a sweet kiss.
"I won't be gone for long. I will send you a message once the mission is complete." She told him.
"Got it and don't worry. He trusts you." He reassured her.
She nodded as she let go of him. She took a deep breath as she opened her beautiful black colored dragon-like wings and flew through the portal.
To be continued...
Note: What did you think? Let me know. I would like some feedback. I hope you enjoyed it
