A New Team

"When there's trouble, you know what to do, CALL CYBORG!!! He can shoot a rocket from his shoe! Cause he's CYBORG!!" sung Cyborg as he drives down the highway, during a hail storm.

"Cy, that can't be the only song you know," giggled Tempest in the front seat.

"The best one there is Tempy," smiled Cyborg.

"Robin calling Cyborg....Robin calling Cyborg...." The radio called.

After pressing a button on the radio, a video screen replaced the radio, and a video feed of Robin, Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy appeared.

"What's up?" asked Cyborg.

"Oh hello, dear friends who I am missing already! The sight of you makes my eyes sore!" smiled Starfire as she began to tear up.

"Yeah it's been totally lame here without you," groaned Beast Boy, "Raven stinks at video games! It's like she isn't even trying!"

"Just because you glued the controller to my hands doesn't mean I want to play," said Raven, who was sitting on the couch with a controller glued to her hands.

Beast Boy laughed, but Raven used her powers to give him a wedgie as retaliation, making Tempest laugh a bit.

"So how goes the cross country trip?" asked Robin.

"Just dandy," said Cyborg, "It's like 80 below, the hails messing up my paint job and why did I volunteer for this!?"

"Cause after Brother Blood stole your blueprints and used them to attack us, Aqualad and Bumblebee tracked them to Steel City," explained Beast Boy, "So now they're starting up the Titans East to take him down and you're headed out there to help the new team set up their new tower."

"The Titans East need your technical know-how," explained Robin, "Besides Tempest needed someone to take her to Steel City, to join the Titans East."

Tempest's eyes drifted out the window as Robin mentioned her joining the Titans East.

"Yeah, and maybe if I stick around long enough, I'll get another chance to break down Blood, personally!" agreed Cyborg.

"And even if you don't, a little time away from home might do you good," said Robin.

"Agreed, you have been somewhat lobstery lately," smiled Starfire, confusing everyone.

"I think she means crabby," corrected Raven.

"Besides somebody's gotta show these copycats what being a Titan is all about," smiled Beast Boy as the Titans signed off.

Cyborg then changes the car into hover mode as it flies over the water. Then there it was a tall white and blue tower in the shape of a T built into the side of the mountain shore. Looking at the place made Tempest sigh.

"Alright what's wrong?" asked Cyborg, "I thought you were excited to join the Titans East?"

"I still am, I promise!" panicked Tempest, "It's just..."

"Just what?" asked Cyborg.

"What if they don't like me? Or I mess up on a mission?" questioned Tempest, "I don't think I'm ready yet."

"Girl, don't worry," smiled Cyborg, "You've been training hard with Robin and you've been working with Raven to control your powers. Trust me your ready and they'll accept you win or lose."

"Cyborg always knows how to cheer me up," thought Tempest smiling as Cyborg landed the car, "What am I going to do when he leaves?"

Cyborg grabbed a toolbox from his truck and the two walked up to the door. Cyborg knocked on the door which then fell over. He sighed as the two began to walk through the work-in-progress tower. Parts and wires were all over the place, it was a surprise that the place was still standing.

"The place looked better on the outside," said Cyborg as Tempest closely followed him, "But nothing a little elbow grease can't fix." Then a nearby panel explodes sending the plate flying past them, "Make that a truckload of elbow grease."

Suddenly a voice shouted from deeper inside the tower, "Fish Tacos! What were you thinking? These were probably friends of mine!"

"You said get lunch I got lunch, chow down!" shouted another voice. Followed by a scream from the first voice.

"Alright, the sensor grid is up on level 4," They hear a female voice say, "Well don't you fellas look comfy. Come on guys this tower isn't going to build itself! And that's a supercomputer, not a footstool!"

"Thanks, mom!" snapped the second voice.

"Can't work," cried the first, "Tacos."

"Yes?" they heard two new voices say at the same time, followed by a large splash of water.

"So who died and made you queen?" asked the second.

"Well maybe you could call the shots if you spent more time working and less time messing with your hair due!" growled the female.

Then they heard the two voices speaking something in Spanish together.

"Your lucky I can't understand that you little!" growled the second.

"He sounds scary," thought Tempest.

"Hey leave them alone!" snapped the female.

"Don't tell me what to do!" snapped the second.

"If you're going to eat my friends at least have the decency to get rid of the evidence!" snapped the first.

They finally found their way to the voices, in the main lobby area of the tower. All five were so busy arguing that they didn't even notice the two walk in.

"Maybe we should go," said Tempest nervously hiding behind Cyborg.

Cyborg loudly cleared his throat to get their attention.

"Cyborg!" smiled what sounded like the first voice, "Thanks for coming. Say hello to the Titans East."

The guy wore a blue and black turtleneck unitard with white zig-zag patterns all over it. He also has long black hair that runs down to his shoulders.

Everyone else went back to work except two small twin boys. The two wore a white one-piece unitard with black stripes. One of them has plus signs on his costume mainly on the chest and sides of his mask, while the other has minus signs. The two twins also wore a yellow mask covering their eyes. They only seem to have one strand of hair shaped like a lightning bolt. The only difference in their appearance is that one has a gap in his upper row of teeth, while the other doesn't.

The Plus one jumped on top of his brother with the Minus and the two zoom over to Cyborg in a flash.

"Meet Mas and Menos," introduces the black-haired guy.

Mas and Menos then began to run around Cyborg speaking in Spanish before sitting on Cyborg's shoulders.

"They go really fast, but only when they're touching," explained the black-haired guy, "And they only speak Spanish."

"Hola, Mi amigo el nombre Cyborgo!" Cyborg attempted to greet. Mas and Menos looked confused but then noticed Tempest hiding behind Cyborg.

"Oh right," realized Cyborg pulling Tempest into view, "Aqualad this is Tempest, the last member of your team."

"Hi Tempest, I'm Aqualad," greeted the black-haired guy as he put his hand out to shake.

Tempest sheepishly went to shake his hand, "N-nice to m-meet you."

"She's kinda shy with new people, but you guys will find that Tempy packs quite a punch," explained Cyborg as Tempest shyly looks away letting her long blue hair cover her face.

Mas and Menos smile at each other, then disappear. They reappeared moments later in front of Tempest startling her a bit.

"Bienvenido, Tempestad! ¡Estos son para ti!" They said as they handed her a bokay of flowers.

Seeing the flowers made Tempest smile, "Thank you."

"Over there is Speedy," pointed Aqualad to a corner of the room. Where a guy with short light orange hair was drilling. His costume consisted of a tight muscle red sleeveless shirt tucked in his matching red tights, a yellow utility belt, a black and white domino mask, yellow boots matching his utility belt, and red elbow high fingerless gloves, and his signature initial on his left pectoral muscle.

"And that's Bumblebee," continued Aqualad as he pointed to the other female of the group. Bumblebee is an African-American, wearing red lipstick with her hair pulled back into two buns. She also wore a black and yellow turtleneck costume revealing her midriff. She wore a yellow belt and long, black pants with her boots built-in, as well as long, yellow armbands. Being half-bee, she has large, white wings strong enough to lift her into the air.

"Hey, guys welcome aboard the happy train," greeted Bumblebee, "We're having loads of fun!" As she began to beat up boxes with a crowbar.

"It's been a rough day," sighed Aqualad.

"Then let's smooth it out," smiled Cyborg, "Let's say we get to work, ready Tempy?"

Tempest nods as the team begin to work. With Cyborg in charge, the team was quickly able to get the tower online starting with the security system.

"Security System online."

Mas and Menos cheered for Cyborg as they rushed down to see him they dropped the buckets of paint they were holding. One of them landed on Speedy, who was holding a welding gun. The other bucket rolled underneath his feet causing him to lose balance. Unable to see or keep his footing, Speedy unintentionally fired the gun multiple times in the air almost hitting Bumblebee. Bumblebee shrunk to avoid the shots which then the shots were redirected towards Aqualad. Aqualad froze and closed his eyes hoping the shots wouldn't hit him. Opening his eyes again, he sighed with relief as none of the shots made contact with him. However, the shots hit the water tank behind him. The water burst pushing him into Tempest, which sent her over the railing into the pool. Aqualad was then pushed into Mas, Menos, and Cyborg. Crawling out of the water Tempest sees the group fighting again as the Tower goes back to shambles.

"Not again," sighed Tempest.

"Look what you made me do!" snapped Speedy.

Mas and Menos argued with him, then Aqualad shouted, "Watch it! You almost hit me!"

"Hey cool it!" snapped Bumblebee.

"Tempy!" shouted Cyborg rushing over to her as she pulls herself out of the pool, "You okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine, but..." said Tempest looking towards her new team fighting again.

Cyborg finally had enough, "ENOUGH!!!" Surprising everyone, they all looked towards him. "The problem isn't your tower, it's your team."

Suddenly Cyborg's arm began to beep, he looked down at his screen on his arm, "Trouble."

"At least something around here works," snapped Bumblebee.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After arriving at an iron factory, the team busted open the doors to find a cybernetic steamroller guy attacking the workers. To get its attention Bumblebee pulled out her B-shaped stingers and shot him in the back.

"Congratulations your the first low life to get busted by the Titans---" Bumblebee started to say, but Mas and Menos sped past her, following Aqualad and Speedy. Tempest unsure of what to do stayed back with Cyborg. Mas and Menos began to run around Steamroller taunting him, as he was too slow to hit them. Bumblebee shrunk herself and got close to Steamroller, however, Mas and Menos appeared in front of her. Steamroller went to hit the twins, but they sped off, as Steamroller instead knocked out Bumblebee. Mas and Menos then began to run rapidly around Steamroller trapping him in one place. Aqualad then used the water from nearby pipes to make a ball of water. Speed ran to the higher platform of the warehouse and fired five of his arrows. Steamroller saw Aqualad's attack and moved out of the way to dodge it, causing Speedys and Aqualad's attacks to hit each other.

Cyborg then ran for Steamroller, but was pushed back and knocked to the floor. As Tempest flew over to help, she noticed a wire from Steamroller's shoulder had attached itself to Cyborg.

"Get off of him!" Tempest snapped as she summoned a large gust of wind, sending Steamroller flying towards the other side of the factory. Tempest then descended to Cyborg's side, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," Cyborg growled, before smiling, "Good job on that concentrated wind burst."

As Cyborg stood up, the rest of the team regrouped with them. Mas and Menos then began to scream and yell at everyone, "¡Esto es ridículo! ¡Parecemos aficionados! Somos siete contra uno, ¡tenemos que ganar! Pero ella se interpone en nuestro camino, y estos dos se disparan el uno al otro, ¡y este viejo no está jodiendo!"

"Yeah, what they said," grumbled Speedy, just as frustrated as they were.

"Hate to say it, but Sparky was right," sighed Bumblebee, "We're not working like a team."

Suddenly Steamroller returned to fight, angrier than before. Cyborg then narrowed his eyes, "We are now. Follow my lead. Titans Together! Speedy! Bee! Push him back!"

Speedy launched an arrow at Steamroller with Bee, shrunk, at the tip of the arrow. Bee then jumped off the arrow, growing to her normal size, kicking Steamroller back. Then while she flew back, Bee used her stingers to keep Steamroller at bay.

"Double M! Heat him up!" Cyborg shouted.

Mas and Menos then put their hands together and shouted, "Más y Menos! Sí podemos!"

The two ran for a pit of steaming hot liquid steel, they quickly circled above the pit to push the liquid towards Steamroller, encasing him in the liquid steel.

"Tempy! Aqualad! Cool him down!" shouted Cyborg.

Tempest summoned a gust of wind to cool down the liquid until Aqualad could summon the water from the underground pipes to completely harden the liquid. Steamroller had been stopped. The team stared in awe of their accomplishment.

"Booyah!" cheered Cyborg.

"We did it!" cheered Tempest. As the rest of the team celebrated.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When the team arrived back at the tower, they immediately got to work. It didn't take long for them to finish fixing up the tower, since everyone finally started to work together. The only thing left to do was clean up all the dirt and dust from the building. Speedy started mopping up, but Aqualad had a better idea using the water from the ocean. The ocean water cleaned up the whole tower for them. Now it was up to Mas, Menos, and Tempest to dry up the water. As Tempest finished cleaning up the water, she stopped to look out the big window that faced the ocean.

"I know the tower in Jump City had an ocean view as well, but I can't help it," thought Tempest as she smiled at the view, "It's so pretty and for some reason, I'm at peace."

"Tempest!" called out Aqualad behind her, startling Tempest.

"Aq-aqualad," stuttered Tempest, "I-I-I'm sorry, I j-j-just finished."

"It's alright, no need to be nervous," smiled Aqualad, "We just wanted to talk to you about something."

"W-we?" asked Tempest, as Bumblebee joined them.

"First of all we want to apologize for how our introductions went," said Aqualad, "Your first impressions of us could have been better. You were probably second-guessing working with us."

"No, no! Of course not!" Tempest shouted, surprising them. Tempest then realizing she shouted reeled herself back in, "S-sorry, I-I didn't mean t-to shout. I just....I mean to say that....the way Cy talked about you two. I-I wasn't sure if I was going to be a g-good fit."

"What do you mean?" asked Bumblebee.

Tempest started to get more flustered, "I-I get startled s-so easily. A-and e-even with help from th-the Titans. I-I still get scared. I wasn't sure if you wanted someone like me on a team with people as amazing as you guys."

"Tempest, Sparky suggested you for the team, because he believed that you would be a great help to the Titans East," smiled Bee as she placed her hand on Tempest's shoulder, "I trust his judgment, and we saw how quickly you reacted during the fight with Steamroller."

"Bee's right," smiled Aqualad, "I also think your gentle touch will be nice for our group. Just let us know how we can make things more comfortable for you here."

"I don't know...." Tempest said, averting her gaze, "I-I don't mean to s-sound rude, b-but the only one I-I seem to not get nervous around is C-Cy..."

"Speaking of that," addressed Bee, "Aqualad and I talked with the others and we all think Sparky should stay as team leader."

The suggestion surprised Tempest, "Really?"

Aqualad nodded, "We just wanted to hear what you thought about it since you're a part of this team too. But I think we got our answer. Come on, everyone is waiting in the main room."

"Cy, is gonna stay? I don't have to worry about screwing up with him here!" Tempest thought as the three of them walked towards the main room of the tower, "But if he stays what happens to the Titans in Jump City? That's his team, his family."

Upon arriving, the group was putting together the Titans table. Mas and Menos then placed six chairs around the table for everyone before cheering.

"Well how about that,k" smiled Bee, "We actually finished."

"Place doesn't look half bad," smiled Speedy.

"Está loco?" asked Mas.

"Se ve fantístico!" cheered Menos.

"It's so shiny!" smiled Tempest.

"We couldn't have done it without you," said Aqualad to Cyborg, "Thanks."

Cyborg smiled but then pushed a button on his forearm panel, "Oh, I almost forgot!"

Suddenly the lights dimmed and a large mirror ball descended from the ceiling, as disco lights shined and music played.

"Disco lights?" asked Bee.

"Robin never would let me install 'em in our Tower," smirked Cyborg, "Well, what are you waiting for? It's party time!"

Aqualad, not interested in disco leaps off the balcony and into the ocean. Speedy pulls out a chef's hat and smiles, "In that case, I'm making ribs."

Bee started to dance with Cyborg but was interrupted by Mas and Menos holding a GameStation2. They begged Cyborg to help them set up and he agreed, leaving Bee alone. Tempest just giggled at Cyborg's excitement as she sat at the table watching them.

"Not much of a party girl are you?" asked Speedy as he put ribs on the grill.

Tempest just shook her head, "Not really. I just don't really know what to do. I get too nervous around people."

Speedy smiled, "I can see that, but don't worry. Once you get a taste of these babies you'll feel right at home in no time."

Tempest laughed a little, "I'm looking forward to it then."

"He seemed so scary at first, but Speedy is actually really kind," thought Tempest as she watched him grill the ribs.

Suddenly they heard Cyborgs communicator on his forearm go off, "Hey Robin. Everything is going great. New Tower's up, we took our first bad guy down, and we're all set to start looking for Brother Blood."

"Good. Then you can head home," said Robin.

Cyborg looked surprised, as the sound of him leaving got everyone's attention, "But--"

"They'll have to find Blood without you, Cyborg," said Robin, "Professor Chang has escaped from prison. I need you here. Robin out."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cyborg had packed up and started heading to his car in the garage. We all followed him, as Mas and Menos clung to his legs.

"Señor Cyborg!" called out Menos, "¡No se vaya! ¡No se vaya!"

"Wish I could hang, guys," said Cyborg as he pulled the tearful twins off, "But they need me back home."

As Cyborg goes to open his car door, Speedy grabs the door, "We need you here, too."

"We took a vote, and..." explained Aqualad, "We'd like you to stay, as the leader of Titans East."

"Leader? Me?" asked Cyborg, "Seriously?"

"Well, don't get all misty," said Bee, "Do you want the job or not?"

Cyborg was so flustered and conflicted, "I, uh, don't know what to--"

Suddenly the doors slammed shut locking them in. Cyborg immediately went to his panel to check, "Security's down. We're locked in. Must be a glitch in the encryption keys."

Bee and Tempest then noticed something shift behind them, as Bee said, "I'm thinking it's more than a glitch."

They soon realized that they were surrounded by figures in cloaks, as Tempest began to recognize them, making her shake, "C-cy, it-t's them!"

"I know Tempy," growled Cyborg, "Titans! Go!"

Everyone charged in knocking them down one by one, until suddenly one of them fired a sonic blast at Cyborg, knocking him back. Aqualad tries to kick the figure, but is met with some kind of metal, hurting himself, "Ow! Who are these guys?"

Bee then fires her stingers at the figure stunning it as she rips the cloak off, "One way to find out."

To the team's surprise, the figure looked to be a complete robotic golden replica of Cyborg. Upon realizing this the other figures ripped off their cloaks to reveal the same. The team was getting buried by the replica Cyborgs.

"They're you!" shouted Speedy.

"No, they're not!" snapped Cyborg as he attempted to escape.

Tempest's eyes then began to glow, as wind began to form around her, "Get off of my friends!"

She released a powerful gust, pushing all of the robots away from her team as everyone regrouped. Cyborg then had them follow him out, "Good work Tempy! Titans! Move!"

After running out of the garage into an open area with multiple hallways. The team looked down the paths to make sure they were safe, as Cyborg explained the plan, "All right. We have to get to Ops and change the encryption keys, reset the security system."

"Follow me!" Aqualad, Bee, and Speedy said pointing in different directions. Realizing that no one was following them, they looked to each other in confusion.

"Um, I thought Ops was that way," said Aqualad.

"Well, one of us must be right," said Bee, "Split up."

"No!" screamed Mas and Menos as they held each other.

"I have a bad feeling about this," Tempest said, and more of the golden robots appeared.

"There's too many!" shouted Speedy, "We can't win!"

"Yes, we can," encouraged Cyborg, "We'll get through this if we just stick together as a..."

Cyborg never got to finish, as the team panicked and ran in different directions. Tempest flew through the halls. Hoping to find Ops as quickly as she could, then suddenly a robot burst from the wall next to her. She turned to fight but was punched from behind.

"No, I can't...I've got to keep....moving," Tempest thought before losing consciousness.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Tempest opened her eyes, it looked as if she was in the basement of the Tower, held up in a machine. Still weak, she looked next to her to find her team in the same predicament. She then looked forward to finding Brother Blood smiling, "Clever Cyborg, he may have reset the system, but it cost him his battery life. This will give me time to begin my new roster of students. Starting with you. With you under my control, gaining Cyborg's trust will be child's play."

Tempest panicked, as she attempted to struggle to no avail. Her panic triggered her powers. Too weak to really control it, the wind ripped the machine holding her apart and shot her out of the tower. Flying through the frozen air, Tempest was having trouble staying conscious, "I've got to...get help....I need..to..."

Unable to stay awake, the last thing she remembered was flying towards a snowy mountainside, before everything went black.
