Chapter I

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-=30 minutes prior on Remnant=-
The sunset on Remnant was beautiful today. The soft orange light shining on the forest. On the Isle of Patch a grave overlooked the cliffside and a girl with her cloak fluttering in the wind stood in front of it. This was the grave of Summer Rose.
Ruby slid her hood off her head and looked at the tombstone with her mother's symbol on it.
"Hey mom. I'm back. I know it's been a while since I've visited you again, but I'm here now... that counts right? Things have crazy lately. Beacon almost fell, I got to visit another galaxy. Oh, that reminds me, the visitors were soldiers. The Grand Army of the Republic, led by Jedi, and fought with physically identical clones... I know what you might ask, are me and Nightmare doing things we're not supposed to be doing? To answer that, no, we're not." Ruby told her mother's tombstone.
The two had a serious relationship, but not serious to the point of where they did things they weren't supposed to.
Her scroll vibrated and she ignored it, continuing to talk to her mom.
"He's been great, he's really nice and always puts others before himself." Her scroll vibrated again, and she still ignored it, as if right on que.
"I wish you could meet him..." And it vibrated again, finally getting annoyed she pulled it out to answer.
"Ugh, gimme a sec. Hello?" Ruby would realize it's Yang.
"Ruby, where are you?" She asked her little sister.
"I'm at mom's grave..." She answered quietly.
"Oh... I'm so sorry, but you need to come see this." Yang knew that Ruby was closer to Summer than herself, but when it gets to business it need to be checked out.
"It's okay sis. I'll be there in a bit. Where are you?" She asked.
"Just a few miles out from our cabin. The rest of the team is here too." Yang replied.
"Alright, I'll be there. Love you." Ruby told her with a smile.
"Love you too sis. See you in a bit." She hung up and Ruby put her scroll away.
"Well, looks like I'm off to another adventure. I love you mom, I'll see you soon." She put her hood back up and used hee semblance to reach her team quickly.
She was about to make a hell of an entrance. When she reached her team she stopped in her tracks and the wind was strong enough to blow Blake's bow off her head and roses petals blew off her cloak spreading them everywhere, one even got in Weiss' mouth. She spit it out, not liking the taste of a rose petal.
"For such a pretty flower it doesn't taste good at all." Weiss remarked. Blake went to pick her bow up and she tied it back onto her ears, not saying a word.
Ruby saw the thing Yang was talking about. It's a structure, made entirely of stone. Some of the stones were exposed and they revealed metal and beams of light going across. Ruby became increasingly concerned about this.
"What is that?" She asked nervously.
"No idea, but you missed when some of the ground disappeared and in its place was another block of that structure." Blake told her leader.
"We should go check it out." Yang said.
"We should report to Ozpin first, after Beacon almost fell it's important to let him know we're still alive." Weiss suggested to make sure they'll plan it out.
"I'll turn my scrolls tracker on, in case something were to happen in there, we'll need reinforcements." Blake pulled it out and turned it on. She left it next to a tree far away from this growing structure.
Just then, several robot like figures stepped out of the cave, five were lined up side by side and several more followed behind. These robots acted like a firing squad and shot at the girls.
Yang ducked out of the way and got Ember Cellica ready to fire back. Weiss put up a shield in front of herself and Blake. Ruby was the first to attack chopping them to pieces and Weiss used glyph attacks to take out several at once. They were weakened to the point of retreat and they teleported away.
"Whoa! Did anyone else see that?!" Ruby was frightened, these robots fought like Separatist Battle Droids.
"Did the Separatists find Remnant?!" Weiss asked scared of an impending invasion.
Blake knelt down and inspected the bodies.
"I don't think these were Separatist droids Weiss. This white goo seems to be organic in some way... maybe these things were born..." Blake told her.
"Whatever the reason we don't have much time, the landscape is changing faster by the minute. These things are trying to transform Remnant." Yang told them all.
Reluctantly they agreed to go inside to find the source of whatever is going on. The further they went the darker it got. That was until they found a large circular room with a massive robot floating above them. It came down to them and the noises it made sounded like rage. It had a shield it could shoot through but they can't shoot it. The only problem with the shield was it was small and had to slowly rotate around it.
"Just keep circling it! It won't be able to hit us all at once!" Ruby shouted to her team.
They all had their weapons ready and they just kept going around it, firing it it's metal hull with everything they had while the robot fired at them with glowing purple explosive bolts at them. It went on for minutes until it was badly damaged.
"Let's finish it with team attacks! Ladybug!" Ruby and Blake jumped up and cut the blasters off its sides.
More robots teleported in and engaged them from behind.
"Ruby we got more of them!" Yang yelled.
The team focused their attacks to kill the minions, once that was done they focused their attacks on the big one. Its hull was too strong and they couldn't break through.
"I have an idea!" Weiss focused her energy into a glyph that was used to summon. And with it a gigantic arm with a sword appeared and with a simple command the arm swung down and cut it in half, finally destroying it.
"Weiss! That was amazing!" Ruby screamed and basically bear hugged her teammate.
"Ruby... let... go... can't... breathe..." Weiss managed to wheeze it out.
She let go of her and Weiss caught her breath.
"I've been practicing with summoning, I almost got it down, all I can do is summon an arm so far." Weiss explained.
The show wasn't over yet, the room made pulses that made the ground shake. The final pulse was a bright light and the girls disappeared. They were gone, and all that was left was Blake's scroll on the outside with a tracker still on.
