Information
Welcome, toms and she-cats, to...
Rise Of DestinyClan!
In Rise of DestinyClan, or RODC, you have to work with your fellow Clanmates (players) in order to help DestinyClan survive, grow, and thrive. Players must hunt, heal, and defend the Clan to keep it alive and running. Due to respect of the original creators, we will be adding our own twist onto the game. Beacuse of this, make sure you read all the way through so you don't miss them. Sorry for so much information! All credit for this roleplay goes to UnitedWarriors.
|+|How To Play|+|
In the next chapter, you can submit your Warriors OC. Once the game is full, you will be added to the waiting list. (more on that later)
Every day, a new chapter is published, stating the allegiances, stats, news, etc. for that day. You can roleplay and say game commands in the comments for that day.
One day in real life= 1 moon (month) game-wise, and 3 real days= 1 season game-wise
You do not have to roleplay if you don't want to. Roleplaying is a completely optional feature! However, if you do decide to roleplay, only roleplay in the "replies" of the RP area so it makes a chain. Or if you want to roleplay while doing a command, chain-roleplay in the replies of your command. New comments should only be used for game commands.
Roleplaying doesn't affect the game at all though, so you can't just say "I healed all the cats that were sick!" or "I just caught 80 pieces of prey!" That is where tasks and commands come into play.
A task is anything you can do that requires one energy and has an important result. These are hunting, patrolling, defending, foraging, swimming, breeding, training, and healing. One task costs one energy.
Healthy cats have three energy every day/chapter for tasks. However, age, sickness, rank, and injury can affect your energy. (more on this later)
In order to have your cat do a task, you have to submit a command. Commands are specific comments that explain the task and start with a "/". An example is /forage alone.
A DestinyClan admin will reply to your command and tell the result. For example: Brookriver went foraging alone and returned to camp with 2 cobwebs and 1 burdock root. The result always depends on your cat's Skill level.
Other tasks, such as patrolling, training, and breeding, have to be done in groups or pairs. To do this, simply include that cats that you want to go with in your command and tag them. In order for one of the DestinyClan admins to respond, all the cats tagged MUST reply with the same command IN A CHAIN. (Geez, I cannot stress that enough)
EXAMPLE:
Swiftsong: /train battle skill with Yarrowpaw (tag)
{Reply} Yarrowpaw: /train battle skill with Swiftsong
Only when everyone has said/replied to the command will it be answered by an admin.
{Reply} DestinyCats: Swiftsong and Yarrowpaw went training. Yarrowpaw's battle skill went up by 1!
The maximum number of cats that can be on a task together is 5.
|+|Tasks|+|
Hunting: sends your cat into the forest, to the moor, or to the river to catch prey for the Clan. Go alone with the command /hunt alone at the (place) or can hunt in groups of 2-5 cats with the command /hunt with (names) at the (place). The number of caught prey depends on your cat's Skill level, and yes, your cat may end up catching 0 prey. Only leader, deputies, warriors, and apprentices can hunt. Also, there is a partner-hunting bonus, which gives you +1 prey for every one cat that is with you.
Foraging: sends your cat out to gether herbs in the moor, the forest, or by the river. Herbs are essential for healing injured cats. Go foraging alone with the command /forage alone at the (place) or forage in groups of 2-5 with the command /forage with (names) at the (place). The amount of herbs brought back depends on your cats Skill level, and yes, you can bring back 0 herbs. Only medicine cats and medicine cat apprentices can forage. There is also a foraging-partner bonus, so for every one cat that is with you, add +1 to your herb total.
Patrolling: Border patrols increase the Clan's border strength by 1. The higher the border strength is out of 30, the less likely the Clan will get attacked, and vice versa. You can go on a patrol to the river, the moor, and the forest. To go on a patrol, use the command /go on patrol with (names) to the (place). You must have 4 cats on a patrol. While on a patrol, cats may encounter signs of wild predators, rogues, loners, and twolegs, which all pose a threat to the Clan. The border strength will naturally decrease by 3 every day.
Training: increases a cat's Skill level. You have two options for where you can train: the moor and the battle arena. You have to find a warrior (or med cat) with a higher Skill level than you and train for a specific skill with the command /train (type) skill with (name). Only the cat with the lower Skill level will be trained, and you need to train twice to raise a skill level up by 1. If a apprentice battles an apprentice, both cats raise their Battle Skill by 1.
Healing: Uses herbs to heal an injured or sick cat with the command /heal (patient's name). Only medicine cats and their apprentices can do this. Different types of injuries and sickness require more herbs and a higher Healing Skill. The patient is only allowed to be healed once a day.
Breeding: Breeds a she-cat and tom, allowing more people to join the game as kits. (LGBTQ+ cats are accepted, they just cannot have kits unless someone doesn't want their kits) After both cats submit the command /breed with (mate's name), the she-cat becomes a queen. 2 days later, a litter of 1-6 kits will be born. You can become mates with someone by mutual agreement or by building the relationship within the roleplay. Fidelity is up to you.
Defending: When the Clan gets attacked because of a low border strength, warriors need to work together to defeat enemies. The command /defend gives your cat an attack score and a defense score to attack with. The enemy has a predetermined score as well. Your score gets compared to the opponent's opposite score, and the difference between the numbers decides who gets hurt and by how much. If your cat's Battle Skill is too low, use the command /hide to stay safe.
Swimming: send a cat out to the river or lake to practice swimming and to catch fish underwater. Using the command /swim or /swim with (names) lets you go out of the camp and to the river to fish or practice. When at the river, use the command /fish to go fishing or use the command /practice swimming to practice your Swimming Skill.
|+|Skill Levels|+|
Skill Levels are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. They affect how much prey or herbs your cat brings back to camp from hunting or foraging, their ability to heal, and their prowess in battle.
Skill Levels go from Level 0 to Level 7.
Hunting, Foraging, Healing, Battle, Spirituality, and Swimming are all seperate skills, and all have to be leveled-up seperately. Medicine cats have Healing Skills, Spirituality Skills, and Foraging Skills, while warriors and apprentices learn Battle Skills, Hunting Skills, and Swimming Skills.
To level up, you need to train with someone who has a higher Skill level than you with the command /train (type) skill with (name). Kits start at Level 0. Once you're an apprentice, you'll have a mentor assigned to you who is trusted by the leader and has (or almost has) all their Skills maxed out, but any warrior (or med cat) can train with you as long as they have a higher Skill level than you. You have to train twice to go up one level. Try to get Level 7 in everything!
Full warriors and medicine cats can still train too, so don't worry if you didn't max out a level as an apprentice. Just find someone who has a higher Skill level than you and train with them!
|+|Health And Hunger|+|
Cats can be injured from a twoleg trap while on patrol (if there are twolegs in the area) or when defending the camp from an enemy. there are three types: slightly injured, injured, and severely injured.
The good news: You can be healed by a medicine cat!
The bad news: Healing takes time and herbs, and you unfortunately can't go on tasks when you're injured. (although "slightly injured" takes away 1 energy) And if you don't get healed when you're severely injured, your cat will die.
Hunger shows how well your cat has eaten over the past couple of days. Cats will automatically eat at the end of the day, but if there isn't enough food for everyone, some cats will turn to "Hungry". This is why hunting is so important to the Clan.
If your cat has eaten every day, you're fine.
After 1 day without food, your cat will become "Hungry". Eating once will make you fine once more.
After 2 days without food, your cat will turn to "Starving". Eating once will make you go back to "Hungry".
After 3 days without food, YOUR CAT WILL DIE.
Cats will automatically eat at the end of the day, but if there's not enough food, then some cats won't be able to eat. It's not random, so don't complain if your cat ends up dying. In the books, there was an order of who ate when. In this roleplay, the same thing happens, with the order being: Elders, Queens, Kits, Medicine Cats, Deputies, Warriors, Medicine Cat Apprentices, Apprentices, and finally, the Leader.
If you're feeling generous, and you see that other cats are at "Hungry" then you can use the command /don't eat. It will put you at the end of the line to eat for that day, and that day only, so other cats can get a chance to have some food for once. In order to not eat again, you can use the command /don't eat for (number of days) days.
|+|Events|+|
Sometimes, not always, the Clan will hit some devastating moments. Some of these events could include fires (destroys herb supply and -1 hunting penalty), floods (washes away half the prey and herbs), droughts (no water from the river, and -1 foraging penalty), thunderstorms/blizzards (-1 hunting penalty), frost (destroys some herbs and prey), thieves (rogues steal some prey), twolegs (twoleg traps are set around the territory), and attacks (some rogues or predators attack the camp). Also, some StarClan sent prophecies/prophecy quests might show up. All of the weather-related events are made at random but depend on the season, while thieves and attacks happen when the border strength is low. Twolegs come at any time. Twoleg traps and enemy attacks can kill you.
|+|Prophecies|+|
When a cat is chosen for a prophecy, they must do and complete specific tasks to complete the prophecy. There will also be a chain in the comments where cats can discuss what they think the prophecy means. An admin will pm you the commands you must use, because each of them will be different. We will try to make the prophecies obvious, but if we don't then you will still have an admin pm you and tell you. Some prophecies may include cats that aren't even born yet, so we must wait until those players join the game. That brings us on to our next point.
|+|Kits|+|
Unless you are one of the first 20 people to join the game, you must wait until two cats breed to enter the game. If you're lucky, you may end up joining the game as a kittypet, loner, or rogue. If not, you will start out as a kit. When a tom and a she-cat breed, the top few people on the waiting list will join the game. (we will try and hope that the pelt colors will look somewhat similar) Normally, kits are Skill Level 0, and have no responsibilities. However, kits can do one of two commands: /play or /fight. When a kit plays, they will start at Skill Level 1 in either Hunting or Foraging. When a kit fights, they don't actually fight, they just play fight. The command /fight indicates that when they become an apprentice, they will start at Skill Level 1 in either Battle or Healing. You can only use one of these commands once a day, but if you play or fight 4 times before ranking up to an apprentice, you start at Skill Level 1 as previously mentioned.
|+|Ages And Ranking Up|+|
After 6 days (6 in-game moons) of kithood, you will be allowed to rank up to an apprentice with the command /rankup to apprentice or /rankup to medicine cat apprentice. This is one of the most important choices you will have to make in the game. Becoming a typical warrior apprentice means you can do the normal tasks of hunting, battling, and swimming, but becoming a medicine cat apprentice means you can heal, forage, and contact StarClan with spirituality. The Clan needs both warriors and medicine cats to survive, even though there is no limit to either rank. Medicine cats CAN have a mate and kits.
When you rank up to an apprentice, your cat will be given the suffix -paw and be given a mentor. The mentor will be an active player with high skill levels and will be in charge of your cat's training. Even though you will be assigned a mentor, any cat who has a higher Skill Level than you can still train you.
After 6 days of training and doing tasks as an apprentice, you are allowed to rank up to a warrior/med cat with the command /rankup to (new name). The name can be different than the one you signed up with, but we will ask for confirmation. If you ever wish to rank up to an elder, just use the command /rankup to elder.
|+|Dying And Rejoining|+|
If and when your cat dies, you will be kicked out of the game. You can always join again with a new OC, but you will have to go to the bottom of the Waiting List. When you're on the Waiting List, you have to wait until a queen has kits or you join as a kittypet/loner/rogue. When you join, you will be introduced to the game as a kit, even if you're a kittypet/loner/rogue.
THAT'S EVERYTHING! (I THINK) IF YOU EVER HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO ASK!
