A Hero's Heart, A Shifting Fate

Halfway home, Junae couldn't ignore the strange stirring sensation deep in her chest. It wasn't something she often felt, but tonight, it was intense. Her head throbbed with an unfamiliar pressure, and the subtle hum of energy pulsed through her veins. Her dorsal plates, the ones that flickered with radiant power when she wasn't careful, tingled with an almost primal warning. She felt a surge of heat building up inside her, almost as if her own energy was trying to burst out.

What the hell...? she thought in confusion and a touch of fear, her body tensing as she fought to keep her powers in check. She squeezed her eyes shut for a moment, hoping the strange sensation would pass. But it didn't. She forced herself to focus, drawing her mind back to the path ahead, determined to calm herself.

Junae couldn't help but think of Izuku. Despite his apparent lack of a Quirk, there was something about him that pulled at her. He was determined, driven in a way few could understand. Her thoughts drifted back to their brief exchange earlier. Was that why her powers felt so out of control? Was it linked to the boy who had dared to dream big despite everything holding him back?

As her footsteps carried her forward, she suddenly paused. Her sharp eyes caught sight of something on the roof of a nearby building. There, she saw a familiar figure—Izuku. But what caught her attention wasn't just him; it was the strange man he was speaking to. The man's appearance was disheveled, his clothes ragged, and there was an odd intensity in his eyes as he leaned forward, speaking to Izuku.

Junae's instincts flared. She knew she needed to get closer. The energy in her chest was still unsettled, but she ignored it, focusing instead on the scene unfolding before her.

Izuku looked up at the man, his expression filled with earnest curiosity. "Do you think someone like me... someone who doesn't have a Quirk, could still be a hero?" he asked, his voice trembling with a mix of hope and doubt.

The man chuckled, his voice rough and gravelly. "You're asking the wrong guy, kid. But if you truly believe that, then maybe. The world's full of heroes in all shapes and sizes. But you'll need something more than just heart to make it happen."

Izuku's shoulders slumped slightly, but there was still a fire in his eyes. "I... I'll find a way. I won't give up."

Junae's heart skipped a beat as she watched the interaction. Something about this moment felt significant, like it was an opening she hadn't fully understood before.

She stepped forward, her boots barely making a sound on the roof as she approached them. "Izuku," she called softly, her voice cutting through the night air.

Izuku turned to face her, his expression brightening with recognition. "Junae!" he greeted her, a small, grateful smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

The man beside him raised an eyebrow but said nothing, eyeing Junae with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. She ignored him, her attention fully on Izuku.

"Are you alright?" she asked, her tone softening as she took in his weary appearance. "You don't have to do this alone, you know."

Izuku nodded, his resolve stronger than before. "I know. But... I have to try. I have to believe that even if I don't have a Quirk, I can still be a hero."

Junae looked at him for a long moment, the strange sensation in her chest still lingering but not as overwhelming. Maybe, she thought to herself, maybe he can do it.

With a slight nod, she stepped closer. "You've got the heart for it. But don't forget—there's a lot more to being a hero than just fighting. It's about how you stand when everything's stacked against you."

Izuku looked at her with newfound understanding, his expression filled with gratitude. "Thanks, Junae."

She offered him a small smile in return, but her mind was already racing. She didn't know why her powers had acted up tonight, or why she felt such a pull toward him. But one thing was clear—Izuku Midoriya was someone who would shape the future of heroes, whether the world knew it yet or not. And for some reason, she had a feeling her path would be tied to his.

The man on the roof just watched the two of them, his interest piqued by their conversation. He didn't say anything further but began to step back into the shadows, leaving them to their moment.

Before either of them could go, Junae's voice rang out after the mysterious figure on the roof. "Thank you, All Might," she called, her words flowing naturally.

The man stiffened, his broad frame suddenly tense, and a quiet, almost imperceptible shiver ran through him. He wiped a smear of blood from his lips, his eyes widening slightly as he turned toward her, clearly startled. "What?" His voice was rough, more like a growl than words.

Junae simply smiled at him, the warmth in her expression never faltering as she looked down at Izuku, who was peacefully asleep in her arms. She had moved quickly, instinctively, and now cradled him in a bridal hold as though he weighed nothing. She brushed a strand of hair from his face, ensuring he was comfortable.

All Might stared at her, his eyes sharp and calculating. It seemed like she had recognized him immediately. Of course, she would, he thought, feeling a strange mix of surprise and resignation. No matter what form he took, his voice was unmistakable to those who had heard it enough.

Junae's smile remained gentle as she glanced back at him. "It's nice of you to tell the kid what you did. He needed that encouragement."

All Might's face flushed slightly, and he looked away, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "I—I had to try, right?" he stammered, his voice betraying his unease. The situation was unfamiliar to him; he'd never expected to be caught off guard by someone like her, someone who saw through his disguise with such ease. "But... you're right. He's got a lot of potential."

Junae's gaze softened as she continued to hold Izuku with surprising tenderness. "He does," she agreed quietly, her voice unwavering with the belief she'd felt since their first meeting. "He just needs to learn that not having a Quirk doesn't make him any less worthy of being a hero."

All Might's eyes shifted between the two of them. A deep sigh escaped him as he finally dropped his act, standing tall and revealing his true form for the first time that night. "You're not wrong. He's got heart, that one. But if he's going to make it through the trials ahead... he'll need more than heart. He'll need everything else, too."

Junae nodded, understanding the weight of his words. She looked down at Izuku once more, her arms steady and firm despite the heaviness of his unconscious form. "I think he'll find his way," she said, her voice soft but full of confidence. "He's already stronger than he thinks."

All Might stood there for a long moment, eyes locked on Junae. Despite his usual stoic demeanor, a warmth seemed to flicker in his gaze. He took a step forward and, in a rare moment of sincerity, placed a hand on her shoulder. "I don't know what your story is, but you've got the right idea. Look out for him."

Junae looked up at him, her smile not faltering as she nodded. "I will. You've done enough already."

The towering hero looked over at Izuku one last time, his expression softening in quiet acknowledgment. "Good luck, kid," he muttered, his voice almost a whisper now. "And good luck to you, too, Junae Han."

With a deep breath, All Might turned and disappeared into the night, leaving Junae standing there with Izuku in her arms, the world suddenly feeling a little less uncertain.

As she looked up at the sky, she couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead for both of them. But for now, she would protect him. She would be there to make sure Izuku's dream didn't burn out before it even had a chance to begin.
