Rise: Prologue
A/N: I waited until my birthday (Aug. 26th) to release this! I'm so excited to get this last book out to you all. I've missed Ada and Ezra. I know it's taken years to get this final book off the ground, but I believe I'm in the appropriate headspace and at the right age to write about how these two will learn how to fill and pour their cups. Chapter 1 will upload in September! :)
I have to give a special thanks to one of my closest friends (konpyuta ) for accompanying me to Paris in March just for the sake of experiencing the amazing city FOR THIS STORY! Get you a friend like her :') It's been 11 years of friendship, my dudes! I'm so grateful for her support and for yours! <3
Now, please, enjoy!
Love you all!
Mayen

Prologue
The last time I was thousands of feet in the air, it was on a trip to Cabo with Greta, Faith and our respective boyfriends. It was a fun, memorable, and one of my fondest memories. But I've always feared being in the air or more so the transition into the sky shook me the most. I felt the sweat on my forehead as our cheeky and chic safety instructions played on the screens. The more the plane taxied down the different runways, the more I knew I was losing control.
"Keep your feet flat on the ground," Ezra whispered. The irony.
Then the lights cut off, and I swallowed hard. The plane shook, and the engines grew louder. The worst part began.
We sped down the runway and before I knew it, we were off the ground. I relaxed my shoulders. I hardly felt the pressure of the liftoff when the ground tilted with the sky.
"Ada, ça va? (Ada, are you okay?)" He whispered. "Say something."
The plane dipped, and I clenched my fists to endure the floating sensation. I stared out of the window as the plane banked. My security was stripped by the clear blue sky. I turned my face to him and nodded.
I have to be okay, for you.
