We take off into the woods as the blood moon is setting, I have no idea why I call it the blood moon instead of just the moon because it is red every night ever since the vampires took over call me crazy but maybe it's a wake up call. "What's your name?" the woman asks pulling me out of my thoughts, "Chris Daneworth, you?" I state and then ask, god why is it so hard to talk to people I was a jock for Christ's sakes, "Slade Warden, now's your chance to change your name." she says like it's nothing! "Why, by the way you can tell that name is fake." I say with a hint of bitterness, fuck Chris your already heading straight for her bad side. "Do you know my actual name though? no. It's to stay under the radar of loved ones turned vamps, and to sound intimidating. So Chris, what's your new name gonna be?" I think for a minute, I've always wanted the name hunter. "Well in that case, my name is Zeppelin Hunter." I say holding out a hand with my trademark smirk which I hope to god isn't a lopsided smile. "Now your talking" She says with determination, hitting my hand and giving me props. The walk is silent but not awkward, my thoughts keep going back to Nate wondering if he is okay, is he dead. It would be my fault because I wasn't strong enough, god I miss him and if he is dead I will hunt every son of a bitch down that took over this world, our world, my world. I am pulled out of my thoughts when I hear Slade say "Stop." in quiet but powerful voice, "Stop what?" I ask genuinely curious. "You're thinking of a loved one, that it's your fault, that you want vengeance, well don't those thought consume you. don't dwell on it but don't forget about it because it makes you who you are." She says sincerely like she read my mind. "How did you...?" I ask not being able to finish my question because I am shocked to the point where I Chris Danewo.. No, Zeppelin Hunter is gaping, "One, close your mouth you look like a fish, and two, I know the feeling that you weren't strong enough, that you could've fought harder to the point where it consumes you, I know because I've been there and so have you, thoughts like that in this world will get you killed because your not paying attention." She says looking me in the eye at the second part but staring intensely at the ground during the first.

We continue to talk for the next 2 hours of the hike, turns out we are one and the same except I am not nearly as clued in about the world of vampires I only know how to fight them not how to intimidate them and scare them. Turns out Slade knew how to figure them out and that the reason she was out alone is that she was the scout of the group. I can see high, wooden walls built with pointed wood at the top, as we grow closer I can't help but to be amazed, this place was secure, safe, and away from the vampire civilization. "Impressive, huh?" Slade asks and I notice my mouth is wide open. "Yeah." I state and gasp at the same time. She approaches the door and pulls out a set of keys unlocking it, then opening it, "time to get this show on the road." She says looking back at me. "Yeah, you took the words right out of my mouth." "Thief." I add playfully, she looks back at me and laughs, yeah maybe this won't be so bad.
