Chapter Two

Riptide is a notorious and dangerous assassin, none had seen his face and any that did never lived long enough to tell anyone else. He was a fearsome fighter, one of the strongest in the entire agency. Favoured of their assassin leader, the Sea Dragon. Riptide was deadly, it didn't matter whether or not he was armed, everyone died all the same.

Percy Jackson on the other hand is a clumsy, disaster attracting little shit. Percy Jackson was sarcastic, idiotic, carefree absolute himbo of a man. He fit all the boxes, he was unbearably kind (Sally raised him right), unfortunately buff and an absolute fuzz brained being that lacks any form of common sense. In fact if someone offered him a drop common sense he would only then be on the same level as a newborn baby that just stares at bright lights.

Funny how those two are the same person. No-one would guess and to be honest thats probably why he hasn't been caught yet.

As of right now his local idiotness is happily walking to The Coral Reef Bar whilst listening to music so that he can actually show up to work on time. Now you might be thinking, why does he work in a bar. Well the answer is easy. The Coral Reef Bar is not a normal bar.

No, not at all.

The Coral Reef Bar is a huge bar that connects onto a hotel, Percy has been serving drinks at discos, clubs, parties and just regular old customers for 7 years. And 6 of those years he has been an assassin. Coincidence? I think not.

The Coral Reef Hotel is the perfect cover for a lot of things, a big name hotel draws no attention in the world of detectives and police. Especially not the DoO, the hotel ceo is personally related to Chairman Z, so they never pry too closely. It all works perfectly. The majority of the hotel staff know nothing and keep the hotel running just as normal. And everyone in the loop are spread out, it wouldn't do if everyone could be linked to one particular part.

That wouldn't really be ideal.

Percy was broken out of his thoughts by a hit to the face. He pushed away scowling, "Watch where you're going would you."

It was only when he heard laughter behind him that he realised he was talking to a wall, literally.

A blonde walked past him, "Careful Percy, that wall isn't watching where its going."

Percy glared at her, "Annabeth I am not dealing with you today."

"Tough shit I'm the bar with you today," Annabeth called over her shoulder. "For 8 hours."

"No!" Percy frantically pulled his phone out of his pocket, scrolling through his photos for this weeks rota. When the picture actually came up he zoomed in before falling dramatically to his feet. Crying out in mock anguish.

He didn't know how long he was hunched over, sobbing fake tears but he could still hear Annabeth laughing so obviously not long enough.

A shadow was cast over him, darkening the ground in front of him. "Hey are you ok?"

"Oh yeah I'm fine, just realised who I'm working with tonight," Percy said as he calmly hopped to his feet. He looked down at the man who had crouched beside him. He had longish curly blonde hair (why are there so many blondes in his life today), tanned skin, striking blue eyes. Percy watched as he stood up and oh- he's the same height as him and ooooo- he fills out that t-shirt really well. His eyes travelled up and down his body and he was definitely attractive. Percy was around a 5/10 on the chances he would say something stupid. Wait no take that up a bit those are designer shoes, 100% saying something he'll regret.

"Oh thats great," the man said with an awkward smile.

Percy gave him a smile, he was really doing this? "Say are you a model or something?" He did it, he did it no backing out now.

Annabeth appeared behind the pretty blonde, "You coming?"

"No?" the mysterious blonde said hesitantly.

"Hmm I find that hard to believe, have you looked in a mirror recently?" Percy continued smoothly. 'Damn I'm smooth, didn't know I could do that' he thought to himself.

Annabeth stared at him for a moment before face palming and walking away cursing under her breath.

The man stared at him, then looked him up and down, finally they made eye-contact again. "Are you flirting with me?"

'PROGRESS!!!' Percy mentally cheered and danced and generally acted like a fool in his mind. "Yes I am, thank you for noticing."

"Of course I notice anything that involves you." Blondie grinned at him while Percy's brain stopped processing.

Huh?

Percy stared at him long enough for the other to get worried. "Wait no sorry are you ok? Shit, can you hear me?"

He smiled dumbly at him, "You flirted back."

A hard yank to his ear pulled him back into reality.

"Come on gayass, I don't know how to change the barrel thingy," Annabeth practically screamed into his ear.

"The barrel's out?" Percy asked.

"Yes and I don't know how to change it, keep with the program."

Percy frowned and walked past her into the building, opening his phone as he walked. He zoomed in onto yesterdays rota and quickly found who closed his bar. And look at that they were in today, its almost like they want to die.

Percy stalked through to his bar and found the barrel that Annabeth was talking about (she'd put a sticky note on the sign of it, it was bright pink. Where'd she even get them?).

"Sorry for the inconvenience," Percy said in his customer service voice. "I'll get the barrel changed now and Annabeth here can get you anything else you need." He yanked the barrel out with a lot less care than he should have, closed the top part, threw it over his shoulder and walked round the back to the store. Seething the whole way.

A whistle came from his right as a way of greeting, "Oooo Perce lookin' swole."

Percy turned to face the woman where she lent against the wall smoking a fake cigarette. "Hey Piper say do you know where your shadow will be in around 10 minutes?"

Piper looked at him over the top of her sunglasses, "The hell if I know and the hell if I care, she could die and my first thought would be to find a good outfit."

"Well start looking for one, now where will she be again?"

Piper pushed herself off the wall and started walking alongside him, "Seriously? Why? Also why are you changing the barrel already I thought the bar only opened like-" she checked her phone for the time "-7 minutes ago exactly."

"Electra closed the bar this morning and I know for a fact she knows how to change it because I showed her how, so where did you say she was again?"

"Probably on her break, she'll be at the balcony seat beside the café. I can ask Beck to keep her talking."

Percy squatted down slightly as he took the barrel off his shoulder, safety first fellas. "Pipes you are literally the best, I love you so much."

"Awww thank you, if you want to repay me then make her suffer."

"Of course m'lady." He pulled her into a one-armed hug while walking over to the full barrels. "Anything else."

Piper pulled out her phone again, "Yes actually, while your at the café get me a cookie and some coffee."

"The usual?" He bent down and hefted the full barrel against his chest. After making sure that he had a good grip on it he slowly stood up straight. Once he was sure that it definitely wasn't going to fall he started walking with Piper again.

"No I'm in the mood for a triple chocolate today, still the same coffee though."

"Fair, you're in the spa next right?"

"Yup."

"See you once I'm done then." With that Percy waltzed back into his bar and replaced the missing barrel. Whistling as he did it and planning how he would threaten Electra.

Annabeth tapped him on the shoulder, "Wanna hear a funny story?"

Percy's whistling stopped, "No."

"Well you're going to hear it anyway, three more barrels are out."

Percy's head fell into his hands from where he was crouched on the floor. "Of course there is, of fucking course there is."

Annabeth patted his back comfortingly before turning around and serving a new customer.

Percy stood up and checked which barrels were empty, as he was doing so a man came over to him. "Boy do you not serve this anymore?"

"Sorry sir we do but I just need to change the barrel then you can have as much as you want, I'll only be 5 minutes," Percy said, smiling through his pain and murderous intentions.

"All of you are useless, you hear me useless. Where is your manager?"

"I am the manager of the bar for tonight so if you have any complaints then please come to me."

The man scowled, "No you're too young get me a real worker and get rid of that who-"

Percy's smile faded, "Sir if you are going to harass me or my coworkers then the door is over that way. I'm sure you know how to use it." He watched as the man went to open his mouth to yell at him. Instead of letting him start he just raised his hand and waved at him, "Bye bye."

Once the man stormed out Percy turned to Annabeth, "What was his problem?" While waiting for her answer he threw the empty barrel over his shoulder.

"Apparently the Carlsberg was out since yesterday at 9," she explained calmly while pulling a pint. "Also turns out that the Magners one is empty too."

Percy blinked at her a few times before pinching the top of his nose with his free hand and sighing. "Start looking for a funeral outfit."

He left the bar to the sound of Annabeth's laughter.
