Chapter Three

It was eleven o'clock at night, and Cassie had asked me to meet her and some of our coworkers at a local club. Having nothing better to do, I agreed, which was why I was standing across the street from 'Kryptonic', Nalani's highest rated club.

"I don't see you guys." I complained, whining to Cassie who was on the other end of the phone.

There was a sudden tap on my shoulder, and when I turned it was no other than the girl I was talking to on the phone. Behind her stood four of our work friends- Mckayla, Ryan, Nanee, and Sid. They all smiled, and gave me a few hugs, since It has been a month since I last saw them.

"Girl, your hair is just my favorite." Ryan sang, running his hands through it. Every time I see him he does the same thing. For some reason, he's just obsessed with my hair.

"Are we waiting on Chayzer?" Cassie asked, bringing up this infamous fellow bartender. Chayzer Cowen was notorious around the bar we worked at. They say he's a man of many talents- and usually it's the girls that say that, so you can only imagine what they mean. I've never met him, because the only time he's ever shown up to a mandatory service session was the one time I couldn't make it. Cassie said he was a beautiful sight, though- and I guess I'm quite excited to see for myself.

Mckayla shook her head, "He said he's hung up at his sisters twenty first."

Cassie snapped her fingers, "Darn, he'd be real fun to party with."

Sid chuckled, "You have no idea. Last summer we all went to a music festival up in New York, and Chayzer somehow ended up on stage with just his underwear on."

Ryan licked his lips, "What a sight that was."

Everybody laughed at Ryan's obsession, and started walking across the street to the club. Ryan had wrapped his arm around mine, and the two of us walked together.

"I would probably get your ID out now," he whispered in my ear, "The bouncers here will surely ask. They're beyond uptight."

I nodded, and did what he said. While everyone piled in line, I struggled with looking for my ID that had somehow fallen to the bottom of my purse. We had moved up a couple of steps, but I didn't expect us to already be at the door. I continued to look even faster, but one of the bouncers cleared his throat in trying to rush me.

"ID, please." He demanded rudely. There was something about his voice that sounded oddly familiar, though. I looked up to see who was being so arrogant, and boy was I not surprised.

I scoffed, "Well, would you look at that!"

He immediately rolled his eyes.

"Fun sucking lifeguard by day- and fun busting bouncer by night!" I cheered, smirking widely as I got a good kick out of this, "Do you just not know how to have fun- or is it that you love ruining it?"

The obnoxious lifeguard from earlier gave me daggers, "Are you enjoying yourself over there?"

I nodded vigorously, "So much!"

"What are you doing here?" He asked, shaking his head with a small grin.

"Why do people go to clubs?" I responded with, purposely trying to make him sound stupid. It was pretty obvious what I was doing here. I came to have a good time- though I'm not so sure I'll be able to anymore. Not with him here.

He eyed me up and down, "Aren't you a little young for clubs?"

I wanted to smack that little amused smile off of his face. Of course he had to make me feel even more insecure about my short legs, and young looking face. The legal age to get into a club down here was eighteen, and that's what I was.

"Ha, ha." I gritted, "You got me there."

"I still need to see your ID." He handed out his hand towards me, and once again, I was digging through my cluttered purse. It was definetly about time I cleaned this thing out. Pretty sure I just passed a lipgloss I bought from Justice when Justice was in. That was when I was thirteen.

After looking for a good minute, I finally stumbled upon the white card. I pulled it out, and handed it to him with a confident smile. It said I was eighteen, so he wasn't going to bust me for being 'too young', sorry!

He stared down at it for a minute, eventually smirking again. This only sparked my temper a bit more. What was it now?

"What?" I snapped, crossing my arms.

He shook his head, slapping the card against his hand for a second. "Molly, huh?"

I quickly lunged for the card, ripping it out of his hands so fast he didn't know what hit him.

"Jesus." He spat underneath his breath, shaking his hand for a second.

"It doesn't take that long to check someone's ID." I pointed out.

He just shook his head, sighing deeply. "Why are you so difficult?"

Shrugging my shoulders with a perky smile, I started backing up slowly into the club. "I was just born that way."

I felt him continue to shake his head as I turned my back and tried to disappear. He magically got one more exchange of words in, though.

"I'm Charlie!" He yelled after me.

"Did I ask?" I shot back, right before finally making my way completely inside the club.

Kryptonic was buzzing with activity. There was dancing, drinking, raving, and rapid conversing. As I looked around, Cassie and our friends were all getting it on together. Ryan, however, was approaching me with a worried expression on his face.

"Oh my god, Molly!" He exaggerated, "I've been looking everywhere for you! I was scared some drunk redneck tried to take you away already."

I shook my head with a smile, "Just got hung up at the door."

"Oooh," he cooed, "With that sexy bouncer?"

I nearly choked. "He is definetly not sexy."

Ryan flashed me a seductive glare, sipping the straw of his drink to add emphasis on his point of proving I was allusive.

Rolling my eyes, I sighed in defeat."Okay, maybe he is a little attractive."

Ryan wiggled his eyebrows.

"No- don't get any ideas." I gagged at the thought of it, "He's repulsive."

Ryan wagged his finger around, "I don't want to hear it. Everybody knows that that's how the best couples start out."

I held my hand up, "I'm gonna stop you right there. Me and Charlie will never be a couple."

"So his name's Charlie?" Ryan winked at me, "Molly and Charlie sitting in a tree! K-I-"

"Shhh!" I exclaimed, placing a finger over his mouth. I awkwardly made eye contact with one of the bartenders who now eyed me up and down. She obviously knows I'm talking about her bouncer. "I don't want anyone to hear."

Ryan rolled his eyes, "Calm down, Molz. You need to loosen up." He then turned to the bartender who just got done analyzing me, "Can we get her a gin and tonic?"

"Ryan, I can't even drink yet." I whispered.

He smirked, "Lover boy forgot to give you and underage wristband. They don't card here."

The bartender placed a fresh made drink down in front of me. Scared out of my mind that someone was going to bust me, I didn't pick it up right away. Ryan nudged me and motioned for me to take the drink. Thinking what could go wrong, I downed it in one chug. Ryan looked shocked for a moment, but quickly ordered me something else- something much stronger.
