Desmond's POV

We get back to the office, and I lead the guys into the basement, where the TV, X-Box and all my video games are.

"Alright, I want to show you this game," I say. I browse through my games as the others sit down on the couch. I'll start them on something easy, so I grab Mario Kart. A classic.

"I'm starting you on something easy," I say as I pop the game in and hand everyone controls.

"What is this game about?" Altaïr asks, looking at the controller.

"It's about an Italian plumber who races cars with a bunch of other characters from his other games," I say. I start up the game and explain the controls to the assassins.

I pick Mario and he does his classic cheer. Ezio and Leonardo frown.

"He's a disgrace to Italians everywhere," Ezio mutters.

"Wait, this ape can drive a car?!" Edward asks as he clumsily selects Donkey Kong.

"Uh, yeah. Let's play!" I reply. I pick Luigi Circuit, which is basically a massive circle. Should be easy for beginners.

The game starts and all the guys start ramming into each other in an attempt to drive.

"Yoshi! Steer away from Toad!" I laugh as Malik and Altaïr ram into each other. Altaïr pulls away from Malik and drives forward for about ten seconds before ending up in a sandpit.

"What happens if you leave the map?" Connor asks as he drives Luigi closer to the edge of the map.

"You die. Stay on the road, Connor," I reply as I steer Mario expertly around a corner.

"I LOOK FABULOUS!" Leonardo laughs as he steers Rosalina around a corner after me and she cheers.

"I"M MORE FABULOUS!" Ezio says as he rams King Boo into Rosalina.

"Hey!" Leo laughs.

"What does this blue shell do?" Altaïr asks.

"Don't throw it!" I shriek. Too late.

He throws the blue shell and it crashes into me, causing me to fly into the air.

"GOSH DANG IT ALTAÏR!" I yell as he gets closer to me. He laughs and drops a banana peel.

"How exciting!" Leonardo says as he chucks a red shell at Ezio.

"I like this!" Edward laughs as he tosses a multitude of banana peels on the ground.

I finish the race in an easy first, while the others all stumble across the finish line in a clump.

"That was amazing!" Malik says.

"I know! I love these things!" I reply.

We play about seven more rounds before Leonardo yawns and it looks like they're all going to pass out.

"Time for bed?" I ask, taking the controllers from their hands. They all nod and get up off the couch.

"Let's go," Connor says. We all walk upstairs and change into pajamas before crawling into bed and falling asleep.

What a great day.
