Corals POV

Her eyes searched the arena. She could barely see Ripcurrent through the smoke that rose up from the FlameWings scales. She had never been so terrified in her life. She couldn't use her magic again. When she used in the mountains, she felt so cold, so dead inside.

And as much as she fought against it, she was petrified that soon her soul, her love, everything inside her would crumble to pieces until there was nothing left.
She crouched and crept around the ring. She could feel the eyes on her, all the audience, but worst of all, Cinder herself, who might soon be dead. A worse thought occurred to her. She might soon be dead.

With a leap she reached Ripcurrents side, breathing heavily. There was no was to defeat her. They were circling each other hissing, when out of nowhere, a dragon dropped into the arena. His wings slowly unfurled as he stared at Ripcurrent.

Ripcurrents POV
Ash landed with a thud in front of them. The guard that had seemed so peculiar was saving them. He breathed a spurt of fire at her and ripped at her scales, taking the burn. She was bleeding heavily and gasping for breath but choking on blood. In her last moments she threw herself into Ash, and he roared on agony as the smell of burning scales filled the air. Cinder went still. Her scales stopped smoking. She was dead.

Ripcurrent and Coral ran over to Ash. He had tears on his snout and he too was gasping for breath.

"Ripcurrent... Got to tell her... So sorry. Miss her... Not in love. Ripcurrent... love her for me... she... she loves you back . Coral... please... don't hate me.

"Ash.. No! Please don't die. Please..."
Coral sounded terrified. Ripcurrent had never been more confused.

"I never wanted to leave you" he said, and his eyes closed. Coral cried into his burnt body. His talon came unclenched, and Ripcurrent plucked something from it.

It was a gold chain with a heart on the end. Engraved on it was the word Coral

So coral and ash know each other... Or even love each other? Wow. How will this affect Coralcurrent? Sorry for the cliffhanger❤️guava
