Shot 4: She Changed Me

After walking back from the water place, the area was a little quieter than before.

"Your room is right there." One of the lady utters as she points at a tent and he nods at her, heading towards the tent.

As he entered the tent, he saw her inside, trying to tie her blouse and instantly turned around.

'Why didn't they tell me she was in here too.' He was about to step out but stopped after she called for help. "Aunty, please help me tie it. I can't do it."

"Aunty please." She requested again and Omkara sighed, turning around to help her. He hesitantly grabbed onto the blouse strings.

While tying the blouse strings, he accidentally brushed his hand against her bare back and she gasped, realising.

"Omkara, what are you doing here?"

He was surprised and tied her blouse, she turned around and looked up at him.

"How did, you know it was me?"

"Aunty doesn't have wet hands."

'Right.' He watched her walk towards the mattress and lay on it. "Thank god." He sighed a relief after seeing another mattress next to her and then walked forward, seeing a pair of clothes for him to get changed into.

As he held them in his hand, a sigh left his mouth. It was the traditional wear, a dhoti and tunic. He began untying his buttons and glanced at Gauri one more time, assured she is asleep.

***

It was morning, the birds tweeted and woke Gauri up, as she opened her eyes, the only view that caught her eyes was of Omkara buttoning his shirt. He turned, glancing down at her.

"We're leaving in a bit. Get ready quick." He uttered and she nodded, standing up while stretching.

He walked out while she fixed her drape, deciding wether to get changed or not.

After a while, she walked out in the red and white saree she came with and heads towards the people.

"Don't ignore the feeling of love and don't take in the thought of the mind, close your eyes and take a deep breath, you'll find your answer." One of the lady whispered in low tone, confusing Gauri who flapped her eyes at her.

"Come." The two men begin walking and Omkara followed them. Gauri smiled at the ladies and walked behind Omkara.

*

"Go straight from here and you'll find your way."

Gauri and Omkara nodded and the two men vanished after giving the two directions.

'Few more steps and I'll be home.' He thought in his mind and approached the direction with a strong will as he pushed through the branches.

'I'm coming Maa.' She spoke in her mind and inhaled a small breath, heading towards the direction they were told to head in.

"There's nothing here sir, how long will we search?" The constable questioned as he stood in-front of the senior inspector.

"Please, continue searching." Naira requested as she stood with Mrs Sharma near the police jeep.

"Don't give up. Please look for my daughter." Mrs Sharma requested and the officers sighed.

Their attention was diverted to the sound of leaves being crushed and cocked their heads to the sides, surprised to see Omkara walking out with Gauri behind him.

"Gauri!" Mrs Sharma delightfully shouted and Gauri glanced up, surprised yet happy to see her mother. "Maa. . ."

Mrs Sharma let go of Naira's hand and ran towards Gauri. Gauri came forward and rushed towards Mrs Sharma, jumping into a hug straight after with moist eyes.

Naira sighed a relief seeing Gauri and Omkara safe and sound. Despite the situation being unwanted, Naira had blamed herself for their sudden disappearance. Now that they're back, she could relax in peace however, she had one last thing to do before moving on.

"Where were you?"

"We were lost in the jungle." Gauri replied and broke the hug, blinking at Mrs Sharma with watery eyes.

Mrs Sharma wiped her own tears and glanced at the officers. "See, I told you nothing would happen to my Gauri."

The officers shake their head and look at Omkara. "How did you survive?"

"We, were helped by some villagers." He responded and they nodded.

"Who are you?" The senior inspector questioned and he put his hand in his pocket. "Omkara Singh Oberoi."

"Omkara Singh Oberoi?" The constable sounded surprised after hearing that name. "From Mumbai?"

Omkara nodded his head positively and the constable whispered something in the senior inspectors ears.

"Naira, are you okay?" Gauri asked as she walked towards Naira, who nodded her head positively as a response.

"Why, were they after you?" Gauri enquired worriedly as she stopped in front of Naira.

Naira lowered her gazes in dismay. "This was all my fault. He. . . Died because of me."

"Hmm?"

Omkara had his ears out to hear her story, while Mrs Sharma walked towards Gauri and Naira.

"He wasn't a rapist, he didn't rape anyone. The officer that killed him confessed he was paid to do this and I know who paid him."

"Who?"

"Nikhil Rajansh."

"Isn't that the CM's son?" Omkara questioned and Naira shook her head positively.

"I am a reporter working in Mumbai, I was assigned a sting operation which involved CM and his son. We wanted to know why the CM had more money than the limited amount, so we were sent undercover to discover the roots of this." She told, looking up at Omkara to continue. "While carrying out this sting operation, we found out that behind the charity and funding organisations, they sold illegal drugs, liquor and weapons."

Gauri, Omkara, Mrs Sharma and the police officers were left in shock.

"I have all the evidence, but we were exposed and were told to hide before CM and his people could lay their fingers on the evidence. I came back here, that's when I found out I was arranged to marry, so I agreed and after two months we were going to get married. I told him everything before the marriage and he said he would help me expose Nikhil, but before we could get married, all that happened. They alleged him of raping a girl even though he didn't. The made a reason up just to kill him." Tears seeped down her eyes and she sobbed.

"Disgusting." Gauri sighed in disgust and held Naira's hand. "What are you going to do now?"

"My plan was to find you first. After this, I'm hoping to go to the court hearing in Mumbai with the officer and present the evidence but. . . They will kill him before he could testify. I don't know how to do this. I want him to testify in court against Nikhil."

"I will help you."

'This girl will never change.' Omkara thought in his mind, shaking his head in disbelief.

"No. I don't want you to risk your life because of me."

"But. . ."

"Gauri. . ." Mrs Sharma interrupted and Gauri glanced at her with Naira. "We will help her."

"But Aunty. . ."

"You stayed with me when I needed support and help. Now it's our turn, we want to help you." Mrs Sharma interrupted as she spoke and Naira blinked at her.

'The Mum is also crazy. Why risk your life for someone else?'

"But this can be really dangerous. I could die while teaching Mumbai. I, can't risk your lives. Please Aunty, don't get into this mess."

"Is there a way we can avoid coming into their eyes?" Gauri asked and Naira shook her head. "They have a very long reach. If they find out I'm planning to take the officer to Mumbai for court hearing, they would probably kill him before he reaches there and me before I could submit the evidence against them."

Gauri turned towards the officers. "Is there a way we can safely get secretly transport Naira and the ex officer?"

"Not that we know of. If the authorities are really corrupt then it will leak during the planning." The officer honestly told and Gauri sighed.

"But why risk your life for someone else?" The constable asked and Gauri scoffed a small smile over her lips. "If she was your sister, what would you do? Leave her to die or help her out?"

The constable closed his mouth hearing Gauri's response and Omkara gave it a thought.

'If Priyanka was in this situation, I would definitely help her. . .'

"Gauri. . ." Gauri looked at her mother who was shockingly staring at her Mangalsutra. "This?" She questioned, walking forward as she pointed at it.

Gauri glanced down at the Mangalsutra and looked on.

"This. . ." She looked at Omkara and then back at her mother. "I. . ." She was unable to decide if she should tell the truth or play it off as a joke.

"What is this?" She sounded serious and Gauri sighed, starting to narrate the incident to Mrs Sharma.

Mrs Sharma shockingly covered her mouth. "What. How can that even be a marriage?"

"The Pandit declared it as an official marriage." Gauri frowned and Mrs Sharma shook her head in disbelief. "Who's the guy?"

Gauri pointed at Omkara and Mrs Sharma sighed. "Do you wish to give each other a chance?"

The two looked at each other for a second.

"Maa, let's talk about this later on. After we solve Naira's problem. It's too much stress to take."

"But. . ."

"Is there a way we could go to Mumbai without getting caught?" Gauri cut Mrs Sharma in between, asking a serious question.

"Yes, there is." Naira, Gauri, Mrs Sharma and the Officers look at Omkara.

*

It had been an hour, Gauri was stood at a secluded place with Mrs Sharma, Naira, Omkara, two officers and the ex-officer that killed the groom earlier.

"You can't do this." Naira faced the ex-officer with a scoff. "You'll regret what you've done. Your game is over now, Nikhil isn't going to be saved now."

"You're honestly disgusting. How is the public supposed to trust you if you behave like that?" Gauri asked as she gave the ex-officer a disgusted glare.

"How long?"

"Two minutes." Omkara replied to one of the officers as he looked up on the air.

Straight after, a chopper was visible in the air and slowly started to land on the marked area.

Everyone blinked at it in surprise while Omkara waited for it to land.

**

Two hours later,
The chopper landed at it's destination and Omkara waited for a car with Naira, Gauri, Mrs Sharma and the officers with the ex-officer.

"Thank you." Naira uttered as she faced Omkara. "I really appreciate your help. Now no one will realise and the justice will be given without an obstacle."

Omkara gave her a simple nod as a response and looked away, showing lack of interest. Gauri blinked at him while standing with Mrs Sharma, remembering when he offered to help.

"Yes there is."

"I will call for a chopper and we can fly to Mumbai in that. After that I will call for a car and you can secretly take them to the court. It's easy and simple, no more of a hustle."

It wasn't like him to offer help to someone in need when he's the type to run away. Yet, Gauri was pleased when he decided to help, which meant he has a small change in his heart.

Three cars stop in the private area the drivers step out and rush towards Omkara.

"Sir."

"You two, take them to the court safely." He ordered and the driver nodded.

"And you, take me home."

"Thank you Mr Oberoi." The two officers thank and he nods at them, heading towards a car.

The driver rushed and opened the door for Omkara while the other two drivers talk to the officers.

As Omkara sat in, the driver shut the door and he glanced out, looking at Gauri. Gauri looked to the side and stared at him looking at her through the window.

After realising she saw him, he glanced away and the driver drove off.

*

He tiredly stepped inside the house.

"Omkara?" His mother concernedly rushed towards him.

"Om."

"Where were you? Why is your phone switched off, do you realised how worried we were?" Shivaay asked as he walked inside the hall, sighing a relief to see Omkara standing in front of them.

"My phone broke." He replied and Jhanvi cupped his face.

"What took you so long?"

"I'm tired. Can I go rest?"

Jhanvi nodded at him and he walked away.

"What's wrong with him?" Shivaay wondered and stared at the ground.

*

In the court,
Gauri, Naira and Mrs Sharma were impatiently waiting for the judge while the ex officer was stood in the box. Naira clenched onto the usb stick that was in her hand nervously. Gauri held her hand to assure her and Naira exhaled as she swallowed.

"The judge is coming." Everyone stood up as soon as the announcement was made to show respect to the judge, who was arriving with two more people.

*

Omkara was laying down with his eyes closed, getting flashes of Gauri and their time spent in the jungle. He sighed frustratedly, not being able to sleep peacefully. He changed to his side, exhaling a small breath.

He eventually fell asleep, dreaming of himself standing in front of Gauri with a rose.

"Dil hote jo mere seene mein do
Doosra dil bhi main tumhe deta todne ko
Hosanna..Hosanna..Hosanna
Ho..Sannna...Hosanna..Ho..."

Gauri starts walking away and he walked behind her, mouthing the lyrics.

"Dilkash thi woh shaam pehle pehal
Jab ke tumse mili thi nazar
Aisa chakraya ki ab ye na jaanu
Ke jaaun tto jaaun kidhar
Hosanna tum samne thi pal
Hosanna Agle hi pal thi ojhal"

Omkara smiles as he holds Gauri's hand and she turns towards him.

"Ab kya bataaun main
Kis haal mein hu main
Yahaan-wahaan bas apna dil aur hosh dhoodta hu main."

Gauri shakes her head in a disbelief with a smile and turned back around after releasing her hand from his hold.

Omkara runs behind her: Hosanna.. (Madhoshi deewanagi)
Hosanna.. (main aur teri bandagi)
Hosanna.. (ab hai yehi zindagi)
Hosanna..

He walks in front of her and smiles:
Everybody wanna know be like be like
I really wanna be here with you
Is that enough to say that
We are made for each other is all that is Hosanna true
Hosanna... be there when you are calling i will be there
Hosanna... feeling like my life's changed
I never wanna be the same..

Gauri tries controlling her laugh.

Omkara holds her hand and forwards the rose: Its time we re-arrange i take a step
you take a step and me calling out to you
Helloooo... Hellooooo... Helloooo oooo
Swara looks away.

Omkara waves his hand to grab attention: Yooo Hosanna
Ho..sanna.....oooo...

Gauri starts walking inside the garden with beautiful flowers.

Omkara stares at her and smiles:
Udti hui titli ki rangeen parchhaai reh jaati hai phoolon mein
Waise hi tum ek tasveer ke jaise chhaye ho inn aankhon mein

He dreamingly looks at Gauri.

He pulls her towards him: Hosanna, Tum jo mera khwaab ho
Hosanna, Dil kyon na betaab ho
Kahoon to kya kahoon
Main kyun deewana hoon

He twirls her: Tumhare baare mein hi har ghadi main sochta hoon kyun.
Hello.. Hello.. Hello...
Hosanna... (ab din ho ya raat ho)
Hosanna... (dil chahe tum saath ho)
Hosanna... (bas haathon mein haath ho)
Hosanna....
Dil hote jo, mere seene mein do
Doosra dil bhi main, tumhe deta todne ko

He stops singing and bends down. "I love you Gauri."

Gauri gasped as she widens her eyes in shock.

"No I don't!" He shouts as loud as he could and sits up, swearing from his forehead. He glanced around finding himself in his room.

"Hosanna." He heard a voice and closed his eyes, realising the song was only playing because someone was listening to it.

"This is the worst nightmare ever!" He exclaimed under his breath and stood up, heading towards the bathroom. "Anyways, did Gauri and that girl get justice from the court?"

*

"Taking all the evidence and confessions into account. I hereby declare Nikhil Rajansh and his father, CM Prithvi Rajansh, this ex-officer Aditya Raj guilty." The judge declared and hit his wooden hammer on the desk.

Naira and Gauri sighed a relief and smiled while Mrs Sharma closed her eyes with her hands folded, thanking god.

"We did it." Naira cried in happiness and Gauri hugged her. "Yes you did it."

Mrs Sharma placed her hand on Naira with a smile of relief over her lips. "Truth will always prevail."

The ex officer spat on the floor in frustration and anger, kicking the property while being dragged out by the police officers.

"Now, shall we head back?" Naira nods while Gauri thinks about something.

"Wait, I have something to do." She utters and stares into space.

**
Afternoon,
Omkara was sat in his office, doing work on the laptop. He couldn't get any sleep, no matter what he did and thus decided to work in the office to relax his mind.

He lifts his gazes from the screen and blinked at the door after hearing a knock.

"Come in."

Gauri entered his cabin, surprising him with her entry. "How did you get in?"

"I simply asked." She replied and he nodded while she walked inside.

"How did it go at the court?"

"Thanks to you, we were able to safely take Naira and the ex-officer to the court without drawing unwanted attention. Him, the CM and his son Nikhil have been convicted of murder, illegal business and trade."

Omkara nodded and she hesitated to say what she was here for.

"Do you have something to say?" He asked as he noticed her struggling and she nods.

"I. . . I'm here to ask. . . For the divorce papers."

"Hmm?"

"The divorce papers, we need to sign them to null and void the marriage."

"You don't need to, no one knows we're married other than your mother. So we don't need to make a big issue out of it."

She gave him a look and crossed her arms across her chest. "I'm sorry but that is against my upbringing, I can't keep it like this, no matter what that situation was, our marriage still happened, if I want to separate then I will have to do that legally."

Omkara starts thinking and then shakes his head positively. "Okay, tell me, when do I appeal?"

"If possible then arrange for them now."

"Now? I think it'll take one week to arrange it, especially if we want to keep it hidden from the world."

She gave it a thought and then nodded. "Would it be okay for you to send the papers to Bareilly?"

"We. . ." Before he could continue, a phone call interrupts him and he answered it instantly.

"Hello?"

Gauri glanced around the office room, seeing certificates hung on the wall and nodded her head, being impressed by them.

"Yes Mr Nair, I will send the contract papers and it's a beautiful place, you'll understand as soon as you see it." He replied to the caller with a small smile over his lips.

He continued "Yes, I agree but it's okay Mr Nair, as long as we have the power in our hands, those tribal people cannot harm us, the route to that watery place is easy."

Gauri was stunned after hearing the last bits of his words and glanced at him in shock.

"Great, see you on Thursday." He chuckled and disconnected the call.

"You can't do that." He looked to the side, "you can't betray them like that."

"I can do what I want." He responded after realising what she meant.

"You can't ruin that place, it's not yours, it's theirs. You have no right to invade it. What must they think about us? Have you forgot why it was hidden?"

"I don't care, anyways you're here for the divorce papers, I'll get them ready. You can leave now." He rudely uttered and looked away.

She stared at him in disbelief "Do you even know how many dreams are attached to it? Do you even know how many happiness are captured in that? Not for me but at least for the people who took care of you and for the children, spare that place."

Omkara reflects on her words without showing her he's hearing her. His fingers stop scrolling on the keyboard and he sighed.

"At least think of Munnu, that place is his dream and his everything, that's the only place that keeps him happy." She reminded him of Munnu, the deaf child and flashes of him appear in his mind.

'Gauri is right, I can't crush the happiness of innocent children, just to complete my project, this won't be fair on them.'

"You'll have the divorce papers parcelled, just leave your address with me." He roughly uttered and she glanced at him with disgust, picking the pen up to write her address on a paper that was laying on his desk.

"Just remember, you'll be killing thousands of smiles just by the destruction of the watery place. They showed it to you because they trusted you." She headed towards the door after writing her address and saying her last few words to him.

Thoughts began engrossing him and he frustratedly sighed, successfully manipulated to change his decision.

***

One week later,

Omkara was stood in front of the mirror, tying his waistcoat while staring at himself yet lost in some other thoughts.

"Sir, there's a letter for you." The servant uttered after knocking and Omkara turned towards the door.

"Leave it on my bed." The servant nodded at Omkara's order and placed the envelope on the bed, exiting the rooms afterwards.

Omkara headed towards his bed, leaning and picking the envelope up, tearing it open. He slid his hand inside and pulled out some papers. His heart skipped a beat and he scanned his eyes down, seeing a signature.

"She signed it." He sounded disappointed rather than being happy about it and stared in space, thinking about what had happened to him during the week.

A glimpse of the visit to a clinic whizzed into his mind and he sighed, remembering it,

A day after Gauri left, he was feeling troubled and distraught. Deciding to see a Doctor straightaway.

He entered the doctors cabin and took a seat.

"So Mr Oberoi, how can I help you?"

"Doctor, from the past few days I have been feeling unwell, I mean, ever since I was in that jungle." He explained while rethinking about his feelings.

"Ohh, may I please know what you were doing in the jungle . . . ?" The doctor questioned and Omkara sighed.

"I fell down the cliff and injured myself, then I had been lost and was wandering around to find my way home and I finally did."

"Well, that's very unusual, how are you now?"

"Better."

"What exact was the problem?" The doctor asked and Omkara shrugged.

"I'm unsure, it was just that my heart was beating fast and I was feeling a strange feeling that never occurred before and I'm unable to focus or concentrate on anything and then I get weird dreams." He revealed the symptoms he had been experiencing and the doctor narrowed his eyebrows in confusion.  .

"Since when did this start?"

"Few of them started few days ago and the dream one started yesterday."

"Were you alone in the jungle?"

"No, I was with someone." He says and then remembered Gauri.

"I'm sure it must be a girl and you're absolutely fine Mr Oberoi, it's nothing much to worry about, I guess you started liking someone, that's why you're feeling emotions, is that right?"

He wasn't able to figure out how to respond to that, could he possibly started liking Gauri.

"No, I think it's because I was shot."

"You were what?"

"Shot."

The Doctor shockingly looked at Omkara. "If you don't mind can I see the wound?"

"Sure. Make sure I don't get an infection."

"Sure, follow me."

"Thank you doctor."

A chuckle left his mouth and then his mind froze at another incident that happened and he palmed his forehead.

As Omkara walked down the stairs, he sees Gauri in the hall, bending down and pecking a child on the cheek and watched the child reciprocated. He was stunned and increased his speed.

"Gauri, what are you doing here?"

She looks at him confusingly and creased her eyebrows. "Sir. . ."

"Sir, since when am I your sir? And did you receive the divorce papers?"

"Divorce papers, why divorce sir? I have two small children and I love my husband."

"What! Husband and two small children already? When did this happen?" Omkara was shocked after hearing that out of Gauri's mouth.

Gauri pointed at the boy she had pecked and Omkara looked on. "But this is our maid, Kamala's son. . ." He stopped as he glanced at Gauri, who he mistakenly assumed his maid was and looked on embarrassingly.

"Yes Sir, I don't want to leave them." Kamala uttered and then gave it a thought. "Sir, who's Gauri?"

Embarrassed Omkara left without uttering a word.

He glanced down at the divorce papers again, this time hesitant to sign them. "Do I really like her?" He asked himself and closed his eyes.

**

In Bareilly,
Gauri was cleaning the hall with the broom stick while Mrs Sharma was cooking in the kitchen.

'Are you sure you want this?' Mrs Sharma's previous words ran over Gauri's mind and she slowed her pace down while thinking about it. 'Close your eyes, inhale and then exhale, what do you see?'  Her mother's words affect her again and this time she stopped cleaning, straightening her back.

"At first I thought it's useless to try but let me try now." She muttered to herself and closed her eyes, inhaling and exhaling.

Omkara flashed in her mind and she shockingly opened her eyes. "What is this supposed to mean?"

Soon, her phone starts ringing and she walked towards the table, grabbing onto it. Seeing an unknown number, she hesitantly answered it.

"Yes?"

"Mrs Oberoi?"

"Huh? Wrong number, this isn't Mrs. . ." She stopped 'Omkara Singh Oberoi' she realised and then sighed. "Yes, who's this?"

"I'm Kapil Sharma, the lawyer of yours and Mr Oberoi's divorce case."

"Okay. . ."

"I want to ask if you are 100% happy for me to submit it to the court." Gauri stayed silent for few seconds while thinking about it.

"Did he sign them?"

"Yes and he said he's happy for the papers to be submitted."

"Oh. . ." She disappointedly responded and then inhaled "I'm also happy for the papers to be submitted."

"Okay, I'll let you know the dates as soon as that's done."

"Thank you."

The call disconnected and Gauri placed it down with an unknown frown and dismay crawling over her feelings.

"Right, this was an unwanted situation so why would he even bother to keep this marriage?"

She sighed, sweeping the floors again to distract her mind.

**

Oberoi Mansion,
Was chaotic after the news of the divorce was spreading. Omkara was dragged in the middle, surrounded by his family for questioning.

"Why have you applied for divorce?" Kalyani questioned and Omkara was silent.

"If it wasn't for Mrs Sharma then we would never know what was happening behind our backs." Pinky taunted and Jhanvi gave Omkara a disappointed look.

"What is this Om, why did you apply for a divorce? Who are you giving divorce to and why?" She questioned and Omkara remained silent, not knowing what to say.

"Would you just speak up for gods sake!" Tej shouted, frustrated with Omkara's silence.

"Om, what happened? Why are you applying for a divorce?"

"I. . . I got married." He replied to Shivaay, shocking the family.

"What, when?"

"During my trip to Bareilly, I. . ." He started telling Shivaay the story, not minding if everyone else heard it.

After hearing that, the family were devastated.

"Look Om, marriage isn't a game. If you're not willing to keep it then you should go ahead with the divorce, but if you think you can keep it then bring that girl here." Kalyani uttered while Jhanvi looked on.

"But it was an unwanted marriage. There's no point if this divorce either, we can easily null it." Jhanvi uttered, stating her opinion.

"I agrees Mummy Ji. We can't just pick up random girls to becomes our daughter in laws. She needs to be classy and modern." Pinky uttered, defending Jhanvi and Kalyani shook her head in disbelief.

"What do you want to do Om?" Shivaay asked and Omkara shrugged.

"Give her a chance." Kalyani uttered as she held Omkara's hand.

"Mummy Ji please, you can't pressure him."

Omkara left from the scene after Jhanvi argued with Kalyani, rethinking about Shivaay's question, what does he want to do about it.

**

Two days passed,
And it was the court hearing, that was decided to happen in Bareilly. Omkara flew out from Mumbai to Bareilly with his brother Shivaay for the hearing.

Gauri was ready with her mother, entering the court nervously. They were directed into the court room, and while they entered, they saw Omkara sat with Shivaay.

The two took their seat and waited for the judge. Nervousness yet slight sadness was glimpsing from their faces. It's as if they don't want this to happen yet are bound.

Kapil Sharma, the lawyer starts talking and presenting the case.

After hearing the story, the judge looks at Omkara and Gauri and then sighed.

"Do you two want this divorce?"

Gauri glanced at Omkara, who glanced at her. The silence between the two was covering their mouths and none of their responses left the mouth.

The judge noticed this and nodded. "Court is adjourned for 20 minutes."

Everyone respect the decision and exit the room.

"Is there any canteen here?" Mrs Sharma whispered and Gauri looked at her. "Maa, why would there be a canteen in a court?"

"Why can't there be a canteen? What do the workers here eat then? I'm sure they don't eat the case files."

Gauri giggles as Mrs Sharma responded and shook her head in disbelief. "I'll check for something outside. I'm sure they go out on their breaks."

"Okay, but be quick and if you can't find anything then come back, don't go anywhere further."

Gauri nodded at her mother's instruction and walked away, while Mrs Sharma took a seat on the bench.

While heading out, she clashed into Omkara and moved back, surprised to see him. She lowered her gazes and walked past him.

"Gauri. . ." He called out and she stopped, lifting her head. "My family want me to give this marriage a chance." He continued, feeling awkward and turned.

She was amused with this sudden statement and faced him.

"It's too late now." She softly responded and he shook his head. "Nothing's done that can't be undone."

She blinked at him and made her mind up, before a word could leave her mouth she sees her mother standing behind Omkara with Shivaay.

Omkara turned around to see what she was looking at and looked on.

"Gauri, I also believe that you should give this marriage a chance, if it doesn't work out then you can apply for a divorce."

Omkara sighed a small relief, while Gauri nodded at her mother's suggestion.

"I'll go talk to the lawyer." He says and Mrs Sharma nods. Shivaay shakes his head and slides his phone out, walking to the side while Omkara rushed back inside.

While entering the room, he stopped in front of the judge and the lawyer with a small smile.

"What happened?" The judge asked and Omkara nodded at him. "She agreed."

"That's great!" The judge exclaimed and stands up from his chair. "Be glad I didn't fine you for wasting the courts time."

"Sorry sir." He apologised and the judge chuckled. "We will hopefully see you in the next lifetime."

Omkara nods at the judge that begins to leave and then muttered under his breath "never in this lifetime."

After seeing their expressions, the Judge decided to have a break of 20 minutes and called Omkara in. They had a chant and sensing his confusion, the judge decided they should give their marriage a chance. Omkara agreed and was sent to convince Gauri to save this marriage.

Omkara exited the courtroom and walked towards Gauri and Mrs Sharma. In front of him stood Shivaay, who blocked his way.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

"I've never been so sure." He confidently responded and Shivaay smiled, nodding at him while moving out of the way.

"Go get your princess." Shivaay taunted and Omkara scoffed. "Stop being cringing." He uttered and walked towards Gauri and Mrs Sharma while Shivaay walked in a different direction.

Mrs Sharma looked at Omkara, examining him from shoe to hair. "You look like a decent guy, please take care of my Gauri. She's my only child, do forgive her for her childish behaviour and mistakes."

"Maa. . ." Gauri nudged her mother and Mrs Sharma smiled while Omkara nodded.

"I couldn't witness her marriage neither conduct it, but I'm hoping to see her happy."

"Don't worry, I will keep her happy." He assured assured Mrs Sharma believed him.

She held Gauri's hand and placed it in his and then smiled at the two who blinked at her.

**

After a while, they dropped Mrs Sharma off to her house and headed to Mumbai with Gauri. It was awkward for Gauri, as she was going into a new family and between the people she doesn't know. It was becoming scary for her, she had never imagined to be married under such circumstance and decide to keep the marriage going.

The car stopped outside the mansion and they stepped out. Gauri glanced at the mansion, surprised to see how big it was from the outside and followed Shivaay and Omkara inside nervously.

Shivaay entered the house but Omkara was told to stand at the door with Gauri, who was flapping her eyes at the Oberoi family with tinge of fear in her eyes.

Kalyani smiled at the two and welcomed them in like a newly wedded couple, with the pooja and ritual.

"Enter with your right leg and kick the kalash." she instructed, "gently." She added and chuckled.

Gauri nervously nodded and slowly tilted the pot over, entering the house with her right foot.

"Now step into this and leave your auspicious footprints into this house. . ." She trailed off and blinked at her with a wide grin. "Your name?"

"G. . . Gauri." She replied and swallowed. "Gauri, Omkara. Perfect." Kalyani responds and admires the two as Gauri stepped into the large platter of red liquid.

After few seconds, she stepped out and walked inside the house.

"This pair is meant to be, it's god gifted." Kalyani loudly uttered as she blinked at Pinky and Jhanvi. Gauri bent down, taking Kalyani's blessings, delighting her with her manners.

"I'm Omkara's mother and your mother-in-law." Jhanvi introduced herself and Gauri curled a nervous smile, bending down to take her blessings.

Jhanvi blessed her with a faint smile.

"I'm Omkara's Chachi. Your Chachi Saas." Pinky introduced and put her hand in front of her chest, stopping Gauri beforehand. "No need to touch my feet, I'm too modern for all this."

"This is my husbands. Shivaays Daddy. Omkara's Chachu. Shakti Ji and no need to take his blessings too." Gauri folds her hand to greet Shakti after Pinky introduced him.

"This is my eldest son Tej, Omkara's father and your father-in-law." Kalyani introduced while pointing at Tej.

Gauri was about to head towards him but he but his palm forward. "No need to take my blessings. Just stay happy and up to date with us."

Gauri shook her head positively and Kalyani began introducing Rudra, Priyanka and Shivaay to her.

"Omkara, take her to her room." Omkara nodded at Kalyani and lead the way for Gauri, who followed him.

"Not to mention but she's beauty with brains, you got lucky Jhanvi. She's indeed really pretty and with manners." Kalyani complimented and Jhanvi nodded at her with a small smile.

Gauri entered her new room and glanced around it.

"Make yourself comfortable." He uttered awkwardly and turned to leave but she held onto his hand.

"We're you forced by your family or did you want this marriage to be given a chance?" She wondered and he gave it a thought.

"I. . . I wanted to give this marriage a chance." He honestly told and faced her, she was happy hearing his response and nodded. "What about you? Are you here because your mum said so?"

"I also felt we should give each other a chance, not to forget how we starters off. Will we really last longer than 5 days?"

"That's what I was thinking too. After our encounter and stay in the jungle, will we last?" He questioned as he thought about it and she shrugged.

"Why did you decide to give it a chance after knowing how we are?" She asked and he looked down, not knowing what to say.

"Opposites always attract. You don't realise but you like each other."

Gauri and Omkara looked at the door, seeing Rudra walk inside with a smirk.

"Daadi sent this." He placed the platter with saree and jewellery on the bed. "For Gauri Bhabhi."

He left the room afterwards, leaving the two in thoughts.

No matter what he says, he can never deny the fact that he does like her and he doesn't know how and why and neither can she, the more she thought about it, she was surprised thinking about liking him, not knowing why exactly and when.

The air was becoming awkward for them and they avoided eye-contact.

"I. . . I need to go." He uttered and she nodded, straight after he left and she sighed, closing her eyes.

A while passed and Gauri was sat inside her new room, bored and alone.

"How can I start liking him?" She asked herself, thinking about how her feelings could have triggered. The time spent in the watery place flashed in her mind and she sighed.

"It must've been then, while we were in the water. But why him?"

He entered the room and she heard footsteps, turning around.

"Just tell her you like her already O, we can all see it and I'm sure she saw it too. You'll end up being more embarrassed for hiding it." Rudra's words play in his mind and her nervously swallowed, not knowing how to approach her about it.

"Is there something you need to say?"

"Uh. . I. . That. . . I just. . ." Gauri narrowed her eyebrows, unable to understand the stammer.

He inhaled a deep breath to muster courage and then exhaled, ready to say it. "I like you." He uttered and walked out of the room, surprising her.

"I like you." A smile curls over her lips, which then widened as she chuckled, shaking her head in disbelief. "He likes me and is embarrassed about it." She concluded as she remembered the expression he had over his face while he confessed he liked her.

She was pleased to hear this despite knowing the feeling is mutual, she was glad he confessed first because she was having second thoughts however now she is starting to give importance to her feelings for him, smiling to herself.

She exited the room, looking around for Omkara and stumbled across Rudra. "I saw him heading towards the terrace. Go straight and then turn right, it's up the big staircase."
He left after informing and Gauri headed in the direction.

She walked up the stairs while thinking about it. "Should I show some attitude or should I admit to the feelings being mutual?"

She stood on the top, glancing around the terrace, seeing him stand near the rails and walked there, still deciding what to do, in her mind.

"Omkara. . ." He turned, surprised to see her there, yet avoided eye-contact due to the embarrassment.

Seeing him embarrassed, a chuckle escaped her mouth and he glanced at her.

"I like you too." She decided to be nicer by telling him her feelings were mutual and he looked on, glad to hear that and blinked at her.

He scoffed with a smile while she nodded at him and he walked closer "I know this may sound ridiculous but I don't want to lose you Gauri."

She seemed to be touched with his words and smiled faintly, hugging him. "I missed you too." She uttered, simply answering his cheesy remark and he hugged her back, sighing a relief.

"Gauri . . Will you stay with me forever?"

"Of course I would." She replied to his proposal and he grinned.

All their moments from the very beginning flash in their mind and they break the hug, staring into each other's eyes. He bent down, placing his lips over hers and she widened her eyes, moving away. He blinked at her for a while and she killed her nervousness, ready to give him a kiss and tiptoed, placing her lips over his and he reciprocated.

Their magical first kiss was right under the moonlight and the stars, giving this relationship a charm. At first they started as enemy's and now they like each other, nothing is so certain in this world, anything can happen, just how Omkara and Gauri like each other.

There was more to come for Omkara and Gauri, for their journey to continue and blossom in the most purest way ever. They were husband and wife, who were given right to live their love to the fullest and embark their journey rightfully to become two bodies ONE SOUL. It was a new Omkara that she was yet to witness, because she changed him and made him softer. The Omkara that used to shout is now in love with some he could never imagine being with.
