Five

Jenny flipped through the diner menu that was set on the middle of the table. She wasn't hungry at all, but considering she still didn't have her phone back, she couldn't play Tetris.

Sam walked over on his phone, probably talking to Bobby. "You bet." He said before hanging up the phone and sitting down.

"What'd Bobby say?" Dean asked. He sipped on his coffee.

"Pam's stable. And out of I.C.U."

"And blind, because of us." Jenny said glumly, sinking in her seat. Sam sighed, looking to Dean before back to Jenny.

"And we still have no clue who we're dealing with."

"That's not entirely true." Dean spoke, causing Sam to frown in confusion.

"No?"

"We got a name. Castiel, or whatever. With the right mumbo-jumbo we could summon him, bring him right to us." Dean shrugged and Jenny shook her head quickly.

"Absolutely not." Sam stated. Jenny frowned at him.

"Look, I get that this Castiel guy blinded Pam... But I think we need to find out what he is." Jenny argued. Dean stared at her for a moment, shaking his head and turned to Sam.

"You guys got a better idea?" Dean asked the two. Jenny stayed quiet as Sam raised his brows.

"Yeah, as a matter of fact I do. I followed some demons to town, right?" Sam started as Dean nodded slowly.

"Okay."

"So, we go find them. Someone's gotta know something about something." Sam lowered his voice as a waitress reappeared with two plates of pie for Dean. Jenny didn't look up at the woman, seeing as she didn't order anything, but something was wrong.

The waitress then plopped down in a chair at the end of the table. Dean looked at her, confused as Jenny finally turned to the waitress, her eyes widening as the demon stared at her.

"You angling for a tip?" Dean asked as Jenny gripped his jacket sleeve, yanking it a few times. "Jen what are you—"

"I can see it's face." She whispered, eyes still wide. "All of their faces." She glanced around to see that everyone in the diner was staring at them. Everyone had a hideous face, eyes black.

"I'm sorry. Thought you were looking for us?" The demon possessing the waitress asked, looking to Jenny. "You like what you see?"

A uniformed demon walked over to the diners entry door, locking it tight. Jenny squinted her eyes shut and opened them again, confused as to how she could still see their retched faces. Maybe it was a side effect to being yanked out of Hell.

"Jennifer. To Hell and back. Aren't you a lucky duck." The demon waitress chuckled, her face slowly returning to normal as the others did. Jenny glanced around for a moment.

"Guess that's me." She answered, trying to sound calm but her voice wavered for a moment. She was too afraid they had come to take her back to Hell.

"So you get to just stroll out of the pit, huh? Tell me. What makes you so special?" The waitress snapped. Jenny hummed.

"I like to think it's because of my can-do attitude. I don't know. Wasn't my doing, I don't know who pulled me out." She answered quickly, leaning against the table. The waitress laughed.

"Right. You don't." The three Hunters shook their heads z

"No. I don't." Jenny answered again.

"Lying's a sin, you know."

"I'm not lying. But I'd like to find out, so if you wouldn't mind enlightening me, Flo—"

"Mind your tone with me, Jennifer. I'll drag you back to Hell myself." Sam and Dean shifted as if they were ready to attack, Jenny putting a firm grip on both of their arms as she stood up.

"No, you won't." Jenny said bitterly, and the waitress raised a brow. "Because if you were, wouldn't you have done it already?" The waitress side eyed the uniformed man as Jenny stepped out of the booth. "Honestly, I don't think any of you have a single clue as to what cut me loose. Hell, you're probably as scared as the rest of us."

"Scared, yeah ri—" Jenny cut the waitress off by tossing her onto a table with an easy stride. Dean and Sam raised their brows at her in shock.

"Look. About three minutes ago I was scared out of my wits, now I'm just annoyed." Jenny walked over to the table to stand above the demon. "Maybe it was some incredibly powerful spirit, or maybe some big bad boss demon. Whoever raised me from Hell, they're a lot stronger than you. But you can go ahead and try and send me to Hell again. But I'll be back."

"I'm going to reach down your throat and rip out your lungs." The demon snapped as she sat up, getting off the table. Jenny outstretched her arms, a challenging look in her eyes.

The demon did nothing as Jenny clocked her in the jaw. She threw another punch at the demon, who started looking more nervous. Jenny huffed quietly, turning back to Sam and Dean. Their eyes were wide with surprise, and she waved a finger in the air.

"Let's go, boys." The brothers stood, and the demon sat there, fuming. As Jenny and Sam walked out, Dean pulled a roll of cash out of his pocket and carefully peeled off a ten dollar bill. He held it up and dropped it on the table like an insult.

"For the pie."

Dean followed Sam and Jenny out, huffing. "Holy crap, that was close. When the Hell did you get so string, Jen?" Dean asked. Jenny shook her head and shrugged.

"We're not just going to leave them in there, are we?" Sam wondered, looking back at the diner.

"Well yeah, there's three of them, probably more, and we've only got one knife between us." Dean spoke. Sam grumbled before speaking up.

"I've been killing a lot more demons than that lately."

"Not anymore, Samster. The smarter of the trio is back." Jenny gave Sam a beaming smile, but Sam shook his head.

"Jenny, we've got to take 'em. They are dangerous."

"You want to know what else is dangerous? Drinking milk when your lactose intolerant." Sam gave Jenny a bitchface and she sighed. "They're scared. Okay? Scared of whatever had the balls to yank me out. We're dealing with a bad motherfucker here. One job at a time."

Sam continued to stare at Jenny for a while before he nodded slowly.

———

Jenny's head hung a bit off of the couch she was sleeping on, snoring quietly. Sam and Dean were nowhere to be found, probably out getting supplies for hunts.

The television flicked on to the now-familiar static, and the radio started whining as well. Jenny woke up far too quickly, snatching the shotgun that was laid across the table and cocked it, looking around. She glanced to Sam's bed, which was empty as well as hers and Dean's.

Jenny grimaced at the loud ringing, shaking her head.

"Jennifer." She heard in a high pitched tone. Jenny covered one ear, still gripping the shotgun as the noise became worse. A mirror on the ceiling shattered, a shard of the glass slicing Jenny's hand that covered her ear. She crumpled to the ground, clutching both ears as all the glass in the room shattered explosively. Jenny clamped her eyes shut as she screamed in pain.

Bobby and Dean burst into the room as more glass shattered, rushing to the brunette.

"Jennifer!"

———

Bobby drove down the road in his car as Dean, in the passenger's seat, wiped blood from Jenny's face. She was situated in between the two, looking down at her hand that Dean had patched up.

"How you doin', kiddo?" Bobby asked and turned to Jenny, who sighed.

"Aside from the church bells ringing in my head and the glass in my hand, peachy." She smiled sarcastically, dropping it after a moment. She turned to Dean. "Maybe you should call Sam."

"Yeah, yeah." Dean grumbled, handing Jenny the rag that had become dirty with her blood and pulled out his phone.  "What are you doing? ... In my car? ... Well, uh..." Dean glanced to Bobby, then Jenny. "Bobby's back. We're going to grab a beer." Jenny and Bobby raised their brows and Dean held a finger out to them. Jenny opened her mouth to speak, but Dean covered it with his hand. "Done. Catch you later." He hung up the phone as Jenny slapped his hand away.

"Why the hell didn't you tell him?" Bobby asked first. Dean huffed.

"Because he just tried to stop us." He grumbled and Bobby frownedZ

"From what?"

"Summoning this thing." Again, Bobby gave Dean a shocked look. "It's time we faced it head-on."

"Dean, I wasn't serious when I said I wanted to find out what that thing is!" Jenny argued as Dean shook his head.

"We need to find out what brought you back, Jen!"

"You can't be serious!" Bobby shouted.

"As a heart attack. It's high noon, baby."

"Well, we don't know what it is. It could be a demon, it could be anything." Bobby shrugged.

"That's why we've got to be ready for anything." Jenny's eyes widened as Dean pulled out Ruby's demon blade. "We've got the big-time magic knife, you've got an arsenal in the trunk—"

"This is a bad idea." Bobby and Jenny interrupted Dean in unison. Dean shrugged.

"Yeah, I couldn't agree more, but what other choice do we have?"

"We could choose life."

"We could choose not going blind." Jenny added with a sarcastic grin, looking at Dean.

"Guys whatever this is, whatever it wants, it's after you, Jenny. That much we know, right? You've got no place to hide. You can either get caught with your pants down again, or we can make our stand."

The three were quiet for a moment and Bobby sighed. "Dean, we could use Sam on this."

lNah, he's better off where he is."

———

Bobby drew a symbol with white spray paint on the cement floor. As he stood, Jenny had backed away from one of the walls, which was spray painted from head to toe in similar symbols.

"That's a hell of an art project you two have got going there." Dean commented as he stood at a table, getting weapons ready.

"Traps and talismans from every faith on the globe. How's it going?" Jenny asked as she tossed the spray paint to the side and walked up to Dean.

"Stakes, iron, silver, salt, knife. I mean, we're pretty much set to catch and kill anything I've ever heard of." Dean hummed, almost in amusement and Bobby shook his head.

"This is still a bad idea."

"Yeah, Bobby, I heard you the first ten times. What do you say we ring the dinner bell?" Dean asked the two. Bobby and Jenny shared a wary glance before nodding reluctantly.

Hesitating for a moment, Jenny walked over to another desk, taking a pinch of some powder from a bowl and sprinkled it into a larger bowl. It began to smoke as she changed loudly in Latin.

———

Jenny kicked her legs back and forth as she sat on a wooden table, slouched as she whistled. She looked far more bored than Dean and Bobby.

"You sure you did the ritual right?" Dean asked Jenny, who gave him a look. "Sorry, Miss I Always Do It Right. Touchy, touchy, huh?" Dean mocked and Jenny rolled her eyes at him.

As if on cue, a loud rattle shook the roof. Jenny hopped off of the desk and grabbed her shotgun, slipping Ruby's knife into her jacket. She, Dean and Bobby took their positions at the far end of the warehouse.

"Wishful thinking, but maybe it's just the wind." Dean assumed.

The door ahead of the three burst open.

A handsome man in a business suit and trenchcoat stalked in, the light bulbs above his head shattering in a shower of sparks as he passed them. As he approached, Dean, Jenny and Bobby all opened fire, but the shots didn't even slow him down. Jenny lulled out Ruby's knife as the man neared.

"Who are you?" Jenny shouted as the man stared at her. For a moment it felt like he was staring into her soul.

"I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from Perdition." Jenny frowned at the man for a moment.

"Yeah. Thanks for that. Really." Jenny reared her arm back and plunged the knife into the man's chest. The man looked down, unconcerned as Jenny's eyes widened in shock. She stumbled back in confusion as the man pulled the knife out and dropped it to the ground.

Bobby attacked next, but the man grabbed his weapon without looking and used it to swing around. The man touched Bobby's forehead and he collapsed, both Jenny and Dean gasping in shock.

Dean went next, but it was the same thing. Now he and Bobby were n the ground, unconscious.

"We need to talk, Jennifer. Alone."

"Talk, what are you, nuts?!" Jenny rushed past the man and knelt beside Dean, checking his pulse. She looked up at the man and glared.

"Your friend's are alive."

"They aren't just my friends. Now who are you?" Jenny grabbed Dean's discarded gun. She knew now that it would do her no good, but it was something to distract the man with.

"Castiel." He answered in an odd tone. Jenny nodded.

"Yeah, I figured that much, I mean what are you?"

"I'm an Angel of the Lord." Jenny froze, unsure of what to do. Her eyes widened in surprise. "You seem surprised?"

"I've spent my entire life hunting unimaginable things. There's no such thing as angels." Jenny shook her head. Castiel didn't show an ounce of emotion.

"This is your problem, Jennifer. You have no faith." The gun slipped from Jenny's hand as lightning flashed and great shadowy wings appeared behind Castiel, stretching off into the distance. Jenny's eyes flickered back and forth between the wings, mouth wide open in shock.

The wings disappeared. Castiel continued to stare at Jenny. "Some angel you are. You burned out my friends eyes." Jenny snapped, picking the gun back up.

"I warned her not to spy on my true form. It can be... overwhelming to humans, and so can my real voice. But you already knew that."

"You mean the gas station and the motel. That was you talking?" Castiel nodded slowly. "Next time, lower the volume. You'll make me deaf."

"That was my mistake. Certain people, special people, can perceive my true visage. I thought you would be one of them. I was wrong."

"I heard my name in the ringing. Was that you?" Jenny asked. There was a slight shift in Castiel's expression, but he nodded.

"Yes. I suppose... Since you have some form of psychic ability, you may be able to perceive my visage." Jenny hummed like it was already obvious, turning away before back to Castiel.

"And what visage are you in now, huh? What, Holy Tax Stripper?" She asked. Castiel looked down at his attire, and frowned for a moment.

"This? This is... a vessel."

"You're possessing some poor guy? Seriously?"

"He's a devout man, he actually prayed for this." Castiel answered monotonously. He seemed to be doing that a lot. Does he have any emotion?

"Well, I'm not buying that, so who are you really?" Castiel frowned again. Two emotions in the span of a few seconds. Maybe she was doing something.

"I told you." Castiel said. Jenny scoffed wiping her face and put her hands on her hips.

"Right. Right okay and just... why would an angel rescue me from Hell?"

"Good things do happen, Jennifer." Castiel stated but Jenny shook her head.

"Not in this life." She said coldly, turning down to Dean. "Maybe one good thing, but not something like this."

"What's the matter? You don't think you deserve to be saved?" Jenny stayed quiet for a moment, but truthfully... She shook her head.

"No. I don't think I deserved it." She answered almost silently. Castiel tilted his head in question, but it looked like he wasn't sure what to ask. Jenny cleared her throat. "Why'd you do it?"

"Because God commanded it. Because we have work for you."
