Melanie used to be his only friend his own age, eventually his crush. The girl from across the street he tried to protect from the cul. Melanie had to grow up a bit quicker than Cole with her uncaring, neglectful father. When she was older, she wanted to be a successful influencer, and with Bee's offer, she decided to be a cultist. Eventually forming and leading the new one.

However, she chose to be callous and cruel when imitated Bee's appearance and quriks in order to mess with Cole. Knowing how bad things were in high school. Showing she was even worse than Bee.She weaponized his crush, acting as a cruel narcissist. Enjoying Cole's crush as an ego boost rather than her own feelings. I was dying from the failed ritual when it was conducted that night. With Cole no longer being innocent.

Like everyone else that night when she died, all traces of her seemed to vanish. A faint memory, if any, was left of her. Cole still missed the friend he had when they were 12, not the monster she became when they were older. Wrestling with the fact that the other girl he missed Bee was responsible for supporting Melanie's ambition.

One night, he had to take flight as the Rogue Sun often just to clear his head, only to be drawn to a new threat. And then his powers began to fail him, and he saw her again.

Melanie dressed in green with a smug smile. Disrupting the stone, with a burning pain that brought Cole to his knees. She explained how she was back despite the fate of the other cultists. That after her soul spent time in hell, the evil that she and the other cultists made a bargin with made a deal with the evil Cole fought in the present.

"Morningstar and Mourningatar. I don't care who came first. Whoever, wherever I'm back." She stated that when souls were handed off to Mourningstar, he empowered them. Waiting for the results to see who could be the biggest threat. Getting them in his service to be Cole's own unique enemies.

Melanie claimed that she showed the most promise and that her abilities were enough to take Cole down. That her emotional connection allowed her to disrupt the Sun stone and torture Cole simultaneously.

She had Cole by the neck, now having the enhanced strength to lift him and the armor. Preparing to toss him off the building.

You had to get rid of the power she had over Cole. Get him to cut off the connection and stop her. You needed to talk to him while avoiding her attacks.

You were the one she had by the neck, ready to break it.

Cole was recuperating for weeks after she was done with him. Missing school, bedridden with his parents, was terrified of what could happen. Melanie wanted to torture him, surprise him at some point, and drag his fate out. You had to be the line of defense.

Such you had no emotional connection to her. You were immune to her effects. You had to stop her.

She didn't care about the world, about what would happen to the stone.

With her new status and power, she couldn't be killed. She'd recover. Cole tried over and over again.

After that night, she wanted to destroy everything Cole had. She planned on returning to town, making up a story to ruin his life. To go after his parents, and then kill him.

In the aftermath, Cole was worried about the other cultists. If and when they'd come for him in the near future instead of the two years he anticipated. He wondered what happened to Max and Bee if they gained powers.

He was found by citizens in the wreckage and was hospitalized. You had to get to him before Melanie could.
Cole was forced to fight her in a public place, to risk revealing his identity in order to save lives. Knowing she learned to manipulate the followers she had. Convincing them to make the deal with Mourningstar and be her henchmen.

"Hey. You are not prettier than me." Those were her exact words to her when she attacked.
