Headcanons
Cole still reels from Melanie's betrayal, and when he shares his story with the other Rogue Sun, they share their own stories in which people turn their backs on them. He's cautious and trying to be optimistic, but he's severely disillusioned with the very idea of trust.
The Rogue Sun has never had a great reputation throughout the supernatural community. Being constantly stopped throughout the ages from hurting the innocents. Some Rogue Suns 'kept them in line' attacking to make an example and maintain the status quo. Or helping those who wanted to reform and live in hiding seen as 'traitors' by their kind. The Rogue Sun before Cole being a brutal man who liked to hunt them and mount heads on the mantle of his cabin. Cole wants to build a bridge between certain groups but is unsure of how to reach out.
Cole tells everyone that the cult incident and his stories were all in his head to get through high school. He drops the subject or stays quiet when they bring it up-learning that the ritual eliminated all the traces of the cultists and their victims. Sometimes, he looks up Melanie's social media account and sees it appear occasionally.
He understands how the monsters the Rogue Suns fought in the past became the legends and myths used, but he doesn't understand how the Rogue Suns were forgotten throughout history.
He knows it's complicated with the evil that tempted the blood cult, and the other evil he was picked to fight. It's a mess in the other realm, and 'downstairs' of the original evil, and demons that may or may not be really in charge
Cole's parents know about his role as Rogue Sun and are constantly worried about what could happen to him. They don't try to be overly involved themselves but ask questions.
He understands Bee and machinations, but he understands the grief she's brought into his life. Knowing he has a lot, he needs to confront her about. Still unsure of how much her manipulation made Melanie turn on him.
Cole used the only weapon he could pull out for a while: Rogue Sun, the sword. He was used to improvising and doing his best with what he knew. But he could call upon plenty of other things from the stone that no one decided to inform him of. But he had an idea as he looked back at the night that changed his life forever, and he could pull out his weapons. Two blades. The first time he used them, he stabbed them into the head of something else.
For those attempting the ritual or a similar one for petty or materialistic wishes like Cole's aggressive. If he arrived in time and stopped them, he'd restrain them until it was time for them to face the consequences, whether it be the law or being sent to the afterlife. However, whether human or demon, he is willing to kill them. Then, if the cover-up falls to him, he's ready to burn everything to ash.
Cole can't stop himself from making specific references; infamously with his flames, he commented, " GET OVER HERE!"
He couldn't help himself from dealing with regular crime. Building a mixed reputation because of how he made supernatural threats disappear and the mistakes he made.
Cole uses his knowledge of police protocol, response times, and codes to his advantage. Knowing what to do to avoid arriving this late or being caught by the cops. People are still surprised by his answer that he wanted to be a cop when he was younger. He's become even more invested as the Rogue Sun.
He doesn't fly around all the time to avoid his flight paths being tracked.
With trial and error, Cole learned to summon pieces of his armor and use the fire based abilities without using the full suit of armor. Using several pieces, along with some other clothes, when he tried disguising himself. Or just having a layer under his clothes.
For those who can sense spirits, souls of others Cole sticks out like a sore thumb. The stone within his possession containing the soles of the other Rogue Suns. For those who crave souls it's like a buffet.
