"How many downworlders do you think live in New York" Alec asked Kelsey as she approached him.

"Not sure but they're not your responsibility you do know that right" Kelsey asked Alec.

"But you are" Alec told her causing Kelsey to smile.

"As much as I love the protection try to remember I'm half shadowhunter and half werewolf you know I'm an experiment because of my dad the only experiment of my kind the miracle considering I'm the only one that succeeded with werewolf and shadowhunter blood or whatever I can take care of myself" Kelsey said.

"Maybe but this is different you may be a miracle, and you also may have traveled with your dad from time to time and he may have seen the fall of Rome but even the dark ages couldn't have been this dark" Alec said.

"Alec, I know things may seem bleak but nothing and I mean absolutely nothing was as devastating as seeing you standing on that ledge, I thought I lost you for a second there it was like having my heart ripped out of my chest when I saw you" Kelsey said and struggled to finish what she was saying as she stopped.

"It was the magic I would never, never" Alec said and Kelsey interrupted him.

"I know, I know but if I learned anything from my dad about magic it's that it can create fears only bring them out" Kelsey said.

"Kels" Alec said, and Kelsey interrupted him. "Look you don't have to explain yourself I get it okay maybe not what you're going through but, in a way, I get it just promise me you'll tell me if things ever get that bad" Kelsey said.

When Alec was about to answer Kelsey's phone went off. She looked seeing it was Magnus and quickly answered it.

"Yeah dad" Kelsey said before hearing what he said. "Kels" Alec said worried seeing her facial expression.

"La Chair Brûlée" Magnus said. "I'm guessing that's not a dessert" Kelsey said. "It means the burnt flesh it's an old blood oath spell" Magnus said.

"Then it must be Iris, she said you owed her a favor" Alec said. "At Max's party she said I have to find Madzie" Clary said.

"Then wild guess here I say we better start looking instead of standing here like idiots" Kelsey said.

"I can get rid of the pain but that's about it I'm afraid I've the magic reaches your heart" Magnus said. "So, if I don't find Madzie" Clary said and realized.

"I'm dead" she added. "No, no Magnus there has to be a cure there has to be something we can do to stop this" Jace said. "Can't we force Iris to undo it" Alec said.

"I wish it were that easy, but blood oath spells are completely binding even Irish herself can't reverse it now" Magnus said.

"So, there's absolutely nothing we can do expect try to find this kid okay kind of glad I'm not a warlock" Kelsey said.

"I don't know what to say" Luke said. "Then don't say anything" Kelsey told him. "Kels" Clary said to Kelsey.

"What" Kelsey said. "I was so selfish hiding in the woods like that you would have never, went to Iris if I" Luke told Clary before she interrupted him.

"Luke this has nothing to do with you, you always told me to read the fine print well I guess uh now I know why" Clary said and Jace came over. "Did my dad find anything" Kelsey asked Jace.

"No Iris's brownstone was wiped clean but Alec just got a report from the Clave according to Iris, Madzie was abducted from Brady Park" Jace said.

"Alright we'll start there I'll round up some wolves and see if we can get a scent" Luke said.

"I'll even try to use my werewolf sense of smell as well" Kelsey said.

"Great" Jace said and noticed Clary walking off. "Hey, where are you going" he asked her. "To get Simon" Clary said and noticed the look on Jace's face.

"Well, if we're gonna be searching all night we can use his skills" Clary said. "What skills" Jace asked.

"I don't know night vision" Clary said. "Did you not tell her there's a tube for that" Kelsey asked Jace. "Too bad he's coming I need him" Clary said.

"Then don't just stand here go get your boyfriend" Kelsey said and Clary left.

Kelsey was on her way to use her sense of smell when suddenly she heard Clary in trouble with her sense of hearing.

Knowing Simon couldn't come out due to the sun Kelsey transformed into a werewolf and rushed over to Clary.

She saw another werewolf going to attack Clary and fought her off not letting her get an inch close to Clary. Jace rushed off to Clary seeing the two werewolves.

Kelsey saw the werewolf going to attack again before she threw her. Seeing that the ereolf gave up Kelsey quickly hid somewhere so she wouldn't be exposed.

"Show yourself" Jace said to the werewolf Kelsey was fighting.

Kelsey transformed back and once she did, she saw the werewolf she was fighting was Maia.

Snapping out of it remembering she was indecent. "Jace can you maybe" Kelsey asked and Jace knew what she was saying.

"Yeah, I got it" Jace said and left to get her some clothes.

Once Kelsey put the clothes on Jace got her on she made her way over to Clary and Jace.

"That's better" Kelsey said motoring to the clothes she was wearing as Clary slightly smiled at her. "You okay" Jace asked Clary. "I can feel it spreading" Clary told him.

"What if Maia's right" Clary asked. "She's not" Luke said as he came over. "You need to find Madzie" Luke said seeing Clary's condition.

"And by the look of things I say we need to quickly" Kelsey said. "No problem we'll take the van" Simon said. "Luke" Clary said.

"I gotta stay here if Maia told the rest of the wolves what that sword is capable of, you're in serious danger" Luke told Clary. "I'll stay with lend you an extra hand" Kelsey told Luke.

"But Luke, Kels" Clary said. "No time to argue word travels fast we'll catch up" Luke said.

"After we stop the downworld coming after you little sis of course" Kelsey told Clary. Clary smiled and hugged Luke. "I'll see you soon kiddo" Luke said.

When Clary pulled away from him, she hugged Kelsey and pulled away after a moment getting in the van.

"Hey" Luke said to Jace and Simon causing them to face him. "If anything happens to her" Luke said. "It won't trust me I'll protect her" Jace said.

"You better" Kelsey said. "We'll protect her" Simon told Jace.

"Just try and keep up" Jace said and got in the van. "Who does he think is driving" Simon asked before he got in the van and drove off.

"I'll keep lookout you deal with everything else" Kelsey said to Luke. "Yeah sounds good be careful" Luke said. "No worries I got my daggers" Kelsey said and Luke left as Kelsey kept watch.
