"I still don't understand how can Shadowhunters be better than what you people call mundanes" Clary asked. "Because we protect humans" Izzy said.

"You're right" Clary said sighing before facing everyone. "Humans you protect humans you left Simon all alone in the van good job guys you rock" Clary said.

"Hey newbie you might wanna cool it before I come over there and tear you apart" Kelsey told Clary.

"There is some truth to the idea that human beings should have a modicum of common sense" Alec said. "Alec not now" Izzy said.

"Look they won't do anything to Simon they just wanted to draw you out they want the cup, and they think you have it" Jace said.

"Why do they think that why does anyone think that" Clary asked.

"What my mom lies to me my entire life except oh by the way there's this magic cup I hid on like the planet bongo but don't tell anyone" Clary said. "Are you done now" Kelsey asked annoyed.

"What am I supposed to do now" Clary asked sighing. "We have to report to the Clave" Alec said. "Great" Jace said. "They have to know what we've learned about Valentine" Alec said.

"What that he's my father great fine tell them" Clary said. "What good does that do Simon" Clary asked.

"Clary it's all connected the banks want the cup" Jace said. "Why" Clary asked.

"It makes new Shadowhunters" Clary said. "Nobody wants Valentine forming an army loyal to himself" Alec said.

"Plus, it controls demons" Izzy said. "They'll propose a trade your precious mundane for the cup" Kelsey said.

"So, vampires will trade Simon for the cup and Valentine will trade my mother for the cup either way I lose someone I love" Clary said.

"What if I just toss it up in the air and let them fight it out among themselves" Clary asked.

"So, this doesn't matter to you" Alec asked. "Yes of course it matters" Clary told Alec.

"Listen when you saved my life, I put my trust in you, now I need you to put your trust in me I can't turn into what you are overnight" Clary said. "It's true she was raised as a mundane" Izzy said.

"What are you her spokesman now" Alec asked. "I don't need a spokesman I need a plan" Clary said.

"Uh look at all this stuff these screens I mean can any of this help me find Simon where is he anyway some kind of crypt in Transylvania" Clary asked.

"Actually, no that was Camille's outfit right they're locals" Jace said. "They're at the hotel Dumort down in Gansevoort Street" Izzy said.

"And we came back here why" Clary asked. "We have to go there let's go now come on" Clary said.

"Wow slow down newbie" Kelsey said. "We need a Clave resolution for that" Alec said. "The five of us can't declare war on the vamps all by ourselves" Izzy said.

"And we can't react without considering our options downworlders are slaves to their impulses we're not" Alec said.

"Alec you can't just jump on all the downworlders" Izzy said. "Oh, that's right Seelies have their charms apparently" Alec said. "Right" Jace said.

"Seelies" Clary asked. "Like fairies the fair folk and pixies nixies elves" Kelsey said.

"Anybody half angel half demon it's pretty much a catch all term" Jace said. "Izzy can tell you all about them she's got a thing" Alec said.

"We've all got our things don't we" Izzy said. "Okay I can't listen to this Simon's been kidnapped by vampires I guess I'll just take care of it myself" Clary said heading to leave.

"Clary you're gonna get yourself killed" Have said but she didn't listen. "Your mundane friend too" Kelsey said and Clary stopped.

"Then help me" Clary said going back to them. "While we consider other options my best friend is suffering" Clary said.

"Is this something Shadowhunters understand or am o just being a mundane" Clary asked. "Clary's right" Jace said after sharing a look with Alec, Izzy, and Kelsey.

"They made the first move we're gonna take care of this ourselves right now" Jace said. "This is a bad idea I" Alec said when Jace interrupted.

"What have you got a better one" Jace asked. "Look the banks broke the accords they kidnapped a mundie that's a big no, no, the Clave will give us a lecture and then they'll be glad we did it come on" Jace said.

"Hard to argue with that" Izzy said. "Even if we went ahead, I don't see how we get out of here without having to explain where we're going, we need weapons and we can't let anyone see us get them" Alec said. "I know where to get what we need" Jace said.

"Whose grave is it" Jace asked. "Mary Milligan born January 10th, 1802, died January 10th 1878" Izzy said.

"Alright Alec let's go" Jace said. "Wait what are we looking for" Clary asked.

"Cache of weapons obviously" Kelsey said. "Stashed here with Mrs. Milligan" Jace said. "Why are there shadowhunter weapons in a churchyard" Clary asked.

"Because all of the ancient religions recognized demons or at least they used to" Izzy said.

"They forgot about the threat because we've been here to protect them typical mundane failure of imagination" Alec said.

"Are you saying we did too good a job you just can't let up can you" Izzy asked. "You know what, Alec why don't you go check out by the angel" Jace said, and Alec did so.

"We couldn't gear up the institute, but we know our ancestors left a cache around here someplace we'll find it" Jace said. "Then we'll save your precious friend" Kelsey said.

"I always wondered where my dad was buried, I used to wish he was still alive be careful what you wish for" Clary said.

"This isn't your fault" Jace told her. "This is all my fault" Clary said and Izzy's phone rang.

"Excellent he's home I'm outta here" Izzy said. "Wait aren't you coming with us" Clary asked.

"Oh, wouldn't miss it for the world but I gotta find out how to get into the vampire's lair" Izzy said and left.

"Don't do anything I wouldn't do" Jace said. "Don't worry she won't" Kelsey said. "Jace, Kels over here" Alec said. "Yeah coming" Jace said as Kelsey made her way to Alec.

"Are you gonna be alright" Jace asked Clary. "Yeah, yeah I'll be fine I'm just um just give me a minute okay" Clary said.

"Okay" Jace said and went to Alec and Kelsey. "Yeah" Jace said. "We're crossing an into into vamp territory" Alec said. "That's the point come on Alec cheer up it's going to be fun" Jace said.

"Darn it Jace just think this through you don't even like this guy you could be putting Kels in danger this isn't about the mundane this is about Clary" Alec said.

"What are you so desperate to get laid that you'll risk killing us" Alec asked. "Alec" Kelsey said.

"Wow um there's so much in that, that was wrong I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear it" Jace said.

"That's the problem you're not listening not to this or anything else I've said tonight you don't even know this girl" Alec said. "Why do you trust her" Alec asked.

"Is this about her being Valentine's daughter" Kelsey asked. "Haven't we been through this" Jace asked.

"Alec look at me" Jace said when Alec looked away and Alec did.

"You can trust her or not I don't care that's not my business but if you don't trust me" Jace said when they heard Clary.

"Jace, Alec, Kelsey I think I found it Mary Milligan" Clary said and they went to her. "Beloved servant who wants that on a headstone" Clary asked. 

"Someone who is in service to a cause greater than themselves nice work newbie" Kelsey said.

"At least she is now abracadabra" Jace said. "Wait you people actually say that" Clary asked.

"No Clary we don't" Jace said. "Geesh, we need to make you a handbook or something" Kelsey said.

Jace traced the symbol before they opened the lid. Jace blew the dust before opening another lid revealing the weapons.

"Oh, would you look at that I might be in love" Kelsey said. "Whoa where's Mrs. Milligan" Clary asked. "Don't touch that you don't know how to use it" Alec said after seeing what Clary grabbed.

"What like at Pandemonium when I killed that demon" Clary said. "You didn't kill" Alec said when Jace interrupted.

"Alec I'm gonna show her the right way to use it" Jace said. "Do you see what you need in here" Jace asked.

"No there's no bow here I need one I have to rune some arrows that's back at the institute" Alec said.

"Kels here's some daggers" Alec said giving it to her. "I gotta go" Alec said. "Wait how are you gonna get back in the institute" Jace asked.

"Go in the back won't bother me if I'm alone" Alec said. "Okay good go Kels and I will finish up here" Jace said. "Oh, so now I'm babysitting a newbie perfect" Kelsey said.

Alec was about to leave but stopped and faced Jace. "Hey, I understand what we need to do, and I trust you parabatai but don't ever doubt me no matter what I said" Alec said.

"It's already forgotten I'll see you at dawn" Jace said. "At dawn" Alec said before going to Kelsey.

"I'll be back soon till then stay by Jace's side" Alec said. "Okay" Kelsey said, and Alec hugged her before he left.

"Okay now let me show you how to use this thing" Jace said going to Clary.

"Now it knows you're a shadowhunter so it wants to respond but you have to be firm with it let it know, who's boss" Jace said before showing her.

"There" Jace said. "You make it a part of yourself and it a part of you now the blade never dims it's saying you belong together" Jace added. "How does it know" Clary asked.

"Cause your part angel Clary like all Shadowhunters" Jace said.

"You understand" Jace asked her. "Okay I'll be over there while you two do this weird thing you have going on" Kelsey said and left.

"You wanna kill time at a biker bar" Clary asked. "We can't move on the vamps until sunrise plus there's something I need in here" Jace said.

"What a drink" Clary asked. "I don't drink" Jace said.

"We need to save Simon, not hang around a bunch of posers" Clary said. "You know you say that so much it could be a drinking game" Kelsey said.

"Jace it's not funny" Clary said seeing him laugh. "It's kinda funny" Jace said. "Shouldn't you be teaching me to fight vampires or something" Clary asked.

"Do me a favor look over there" Jace said motioning where to look. "What do you see" Jace asked.

"A lot of people waitress people making out" Clary said.

"Try again focus on the couple concentrate on seeing through" Kelsey said. "Through" Clary asked. "There are layers to reality you can peel them away see the shadow world" Jace said. 

"Maybe you can" Clary said. "Don't just use your mind use your whole self, relax into it" Jace said, and Clary did. "Oh my god they're vampires" Clary said.

"Check out that guy he's got something" Jace said. "What fleas" Clary said.

"Don't try to be funny" Kelsey said. "Bet you can't handle his charm" Jace told Clary. "Charm are you kidding me" Clary asked.

"You really wanna help find your friend" Kelsey asked. "Go on, go compliment him on his motorcycle they like that" Jace said, and Clary went to him.

"Hi, I been wondering who owns this awesome bike" Clary said.

"Well, hey baby you like to ride" he asked before he was revealed to be a vampire.

"You know you smell like a freaking angel right but without all that shadowhunter rune crap all over you much better look right" he said.

"Right" Clary said. "I don't know what you are angel doll but you're on tasty treat" he said.

"Thank you" Clary said before he leaned in and whispered to her.

"Jace" Kelsey said. "Come on" Jace said as they went to Clary. "Hey, you, having fun with my girl" Jace asked the vampire. "Looks like someone is having a little too much fun" Kelsey said.

"Brad's gonna take me on a ride" Clary said. "That's right" Brad said. "That's not gonna happen" Jace said.

"You heard the lady step aside" Brad said. Jace stood in front of him when he shoved Jace.

"Clary you might wanna stay still" Kelsey said as she slammed the vampire to the ground before ending up behind him as he got up and looked around.

"Hey idiot" Kelsey said and the vampire turned around and punched him before throwing him across the room and Jace caught the keys.

"Nice" Jace said to Kelsey. "I train with Alec" Kelsey said.

"As you were" Jace said before getting on the motorcycle. "Kels" Jace said. "Don't worry about me go I'll be right behind you" Kelsey said. "If Alec kills me" Jace said.

"Go" Kelsey said and Jace left. "Now are you going to really make me fight all of you or what" Kelsey asked and they backed down.

"You're lucky your untouchable" the vampire said. "Untouchable hmm nice ring to it don't you think" Kelsey said before knocking him down and getting on his bike driving off.

"There you two are" Kelsey said before tossing the motorcycle in the water.

Jace then looked at her. "What call it payback" Kelsey said before making her way to Jace and Clary.

"What that vamp did to you back at the bar it's called enchants that was just the first step it's kind of like what a cobra does to a mouse right before it strikes this will keep you safe just in case you run Into Mr. fascinating again" Jace said.

"Give me your arm" Jace told her. "I'm never gonna live that down am I" Clary asked.

"Probably not" Kelsey said. "Ow what is that" Clary asked seeing what Jace was drawing.

"This is for silence the vamps won't hear us coming but we can disguise the scent of our blood from them" Jace said.

"Once we enter the building through there, they'll know something's up but as long as our plan works, we'll have time to find Simon" Kelsey said.

"The mundane world is all into vampires I don't get it they are everyone else as an animated sack of meat" Jace said. "Yeah, I certainly don't see the romance" Clary said.

"Because you know it's all real" Kelsey said. "Still, you gotta hand it to them though they know how to frame a narrative" Jace said.

"How will we find Simon" Clary asked. "He'll be in the most secure room in the building true Mr newbie we'll know when we see it" Kelsey said.

"What if they do an encanto on him will he turn into a vampire" Clary asked.

"Ugh so many questions just find me when you're ready I'm going ahead" Kelsey said.

"She always like that" Clary asked. "Not usually you're just special don't worry you'll warm up to her she's just spending too much time with Alec" Jace said. "I heard that" Kelsey said.

"Wait I hear something" Clary said. "Hold up" Jace said and took out his sword. 

Kelsey then took out her daggers before tossing them around a little. "Let's go I'm in a mood for some fun" Kelsey said and left while Clary and Jace followed her.

The Shadowhunters snuck around and made it inside. "Clary" Jace said once they saw Brad before Kelsey and Brad were knocked down.

"You" Brad said to Clary grabbing her. "Just ran 30 blocks to get here before I freaking burned to death in the sun you missed your ride angel doll" Brad said and made Clary face him.

"Why'd you go with him huh" he asked. "You really know how to hurt a guy" he told Clary while Jace and Kelsey were fighting off the other vampires.

Brad tried to enchant Clary when she knocked him down. "You're right I really do know how to hurt a guy" Clary said.

"Jace, Kelsey" Clary said. "Little busy" Kelsey said.

"Clary look out" Jace said when Clary was pinned to the wall. "You're finished" Brad said.

"The blade" Jace said, and Clary tried to grab it, but Brad did instead and dropped it as it sizzled him and tossed Clary.

Alec and Izzy then walked in the room seeing Brad had Clary before shooting a hole in the wall. 

He then let go of Clary as he died, and Clary grabbed her sword killing the vampire that went after her. Jace killed the one he was fighting with.

"Kels" Alec said, and Kelsey used her daggers to kill the vampire she was fighting.

"I'm good that was fun" Kelsey said. "I killed him" Clary said. "He was already dead" Jace said. "Plus, he wanted to kill you remember that she did great right" Izzy said.

"Yeah, you did you should be proud" Jace said. "Thanks, but it's not about me let's go find Simon" Clary said.

"Simon" Clary said once they found him. "Clary" Jace said stopping her.

"That's not gonna do any good" Jace said. "Listen to him Clary Fairchild put it away I've had more than enough of your friend for one day I'd love to cut his throat don't give me a reason put it away" Raphael said.

All of the Shadowhunters put their weapons away. "Simon, Simon are you alright" Clary asked.

"I wouldn't say alright" Simon said. "Stop telling" Raphael told Simon. "Now if you would all just follow me let's go" Raphael said and they followed him.

"Come on let's go up here now" Raphael said. "That's right get down there now" Raphael added.

"Clary be able to catch" Kelsey said and Clary was confused til Kelsey stepped on Raphael's foot causing him to let go of Simon and she tossed Simon to Clary.

Raphael went to go after Simon when Kelsey stepped in front of him.

"You would hurt your baby sister would you" Kelsey asked in a whisper as her eyes glowed for a split second as only Raphael saw, and Raphael backed down.

"I'm trying to help you little sister" Raphael said in a whisper confusing Kelsey. "The door is right there, go" Raphael said and Kelsey slightly smiled.

"Guys come on he's letting us go" Kelsey said before leaving through the door as Clary, Simon, Jace, Izzy, and Alec followed.

"Shouldn't we get out of here" Simon asked. "Why Simon" Jace asked.

"They're right downstairs" Simon said. "Let them come after us they'll just turn into a bunch of fried eggs out here" Jace said. "Ugh disgusting" Kelsey said.

"I thought you said you watch movies" Jace said to Simon. Jace, Clary, Kelsey, and Izzy then went to the roof while Clary went to Simon.

"Oh my god, oh my god it's over it's actually over I was so afraid I would lose you but it's true you're actually here" Clary said. "You know I'd do anything for you" Simon said.

"You don't have to die" Clary said. "I'd rather not do that" Simon said and Clary hugged him.

"I couldn't t live without you" Clary said and they pulled away from the hug. "Say that again" Simon said.

"I couldn't live without you Simon you're all I have left my whole life just disappeared I'm supposed to be this other thing live this other way you're my best friend" Clary said and kissed his cheek.

"Don't you ever, ever let yourself get in that kind of trouble again got it yeah" Clary said before hugging him again.

"Well, no accounting for taste" Izzy said. "Yeah, you should talk" Alec told her.

"Look can I just say one thing" Alec asked Jace. "You will whatever I say so shoot" Jace said. "You think you know Clary right, but you may not think about who her father is" Alec said.

"You know what Alec do not start this again with me Alec" Jace said. "She just came out of nowhere Jace" Alec said.

"She has no one" Jace said. "Just listen to me for one second" Alec said. "Alec stop" Jace yelled.

"Just stop" Jace said as Izzy left. "I'm older than you Jace I'm not in your shadow" Alex said.

"If you really feel that way about her, why did you help us tonight" Jace asked when suddenly Kelsey moved Alec and slapped Jace. Jace then looked surprised at Kelsey.

"Don't look so surprised you know what that was for he helped you because he cares about you why even question it and he has a right to be concerned about Clary" Kelsey said. "Come on Alec" Kelsey said and left with him.

Kelsey knocked on the door and waited patiently. "You know who I'm here for" Kelsey said seeing a vampire.

The vampire stepped inside, and Kelsey walked in. "Raf" Kelsey yelled, and Raphael appeared in front of Kelsey. "Quite a show, don't you think" Kelsey said.

"Why you complaining you love any excuse you can get to get in on the action" Raphael said.

"Kelsey then smiled at him before going to him hugging him while Raphael smiled back. "Hey older brother" Kelsey said before pulling away. "Little sister" Raphael said.
