"Dad" Jace said as his dad walked out of the closet. "Son" Jace's dad said, and they hugged.

"Oh, Jace I can't believe it" he said and pulled away from the hug. "Son you're hurt" he said.

"How did you find me" he asked. "You're dead Valentine killed you Valentine's, Valentine's here" Jace said.

"No Jace it's me" Jace's dad reassured him before noticing Clary and Kelsey. "I'm Michael Wayland I'm Jace's father" Mikael said introducing himself to Clary and Kelsey.

"Look I know what Jace told you, but I've been here for ten years Valentine took off and left me" Michael said.

"And Jocelyn Fairchild" Clary asked. "He took her with him" Michael told Clary.

"You are" Michael asked Clary. "I'm Clary her daughter Meliorn the seelie told me that he was here with her" Clary said and Michael noticed Kelsey.

"You must be Kelsey Valentine's daughter" Michael said. "He may be my blood, but my real dad is Magnus Bane" Kelsey said.

"Jace no" Clary said seeing Jace about to fall and Michael kept him held up preventing him from falling. "It's Ravener venom he kept telling me he was alright" Clary said.

"We have to find your father not my father Valentine's" Jace said and stopped. "His stele where is it" Michael asked.

"His back pocket" Kelsey said as Jace groaned in pain. "What's wrong" Clary asked. "It's his rune it's weak" Kelsey said.

"Ravener venom must be spreading we have to get him help we, we closed the portal" Clary said.

"Valentine's, got a standing portal let's go" Mikael said leaving with Jace. Kelsey grabbed Clary's arm causing Clary to look at her seeing her look at Michael suspiciously.

"Don't trust him something is suspicious about him be careful" Kelsey said and followed Jace and Michael.

Clary thought about what Kelsey said and followed her. "Hey Jace stay with me hey" Michael said to Jace. "Do you remember our first demon fight" he asked.

"We were way out past the institute way up at Kinshasa you were only eight, but you were so brave" Michael said.

"Do you remember what you said" he asked. "I'm ready to die" Jace said weakly. "And then I said sometimes it's as brave to live as it is to die" Michael said.

"Do you remember" Michael asked. "I do it's true it's you" Jace said. "Let's go" Jace said, and they left.

"We need help" Clary said walking in the diner with Kelsey, Jace, and Michael. "Clary what happened" Simon asked walking to them with Luke.

"We thought we found Valentine, but he was already gone" Clary said as she sat Jace down with Michael next to him.

Michael couldn't help but notice Kelsey keeping a close eye on him. "Michael Wayland" Luke said recognizing him. "Valentine took my mother with him but we found Jace's father" Clary said.

"What I thought Valentine killed Jace's father" Simon said confused. "So did we" Kelsey said.

"He tried" Michael said as Luke moved closer to Jace. "Hello Lucien" Michael said. "This can't be I thought I'd never see you again" Luke said to Michael.

"I never thought I'd see anyone again" Michael said. "What happened" Luke asked referring to Jace.

"Demon got him he can't fight the poison his runes are too weak, and he needs blood, but we can't go back to the institute" Clary said. "Simon" Clary said going to him.

"Simon there's gotta be some kind of blood at Hotel Dumort please could you call Raphael" Clary asked.

"Or Kelsey could you call your brother" Clary asked her. "Can you get some water" Michael asked. "I'll get some" Luke said and left.

"As much as my brother loves me, he likes to do things in person and right now I'm too worried to leave Jace alone and there's no way I'm leaving you alone with him either it's up to Simon" Kelsey said.

"My van is in the garage you drive I'll hide under a blanket to stay out of the sun and there's underground parking in the hotel" Simon said.

"Okay" Clary said. "He's weaker you gotta hurry" Michael said and Clary rushed to Jace.

"Jace listen to me I'm coming back please just hang on please" Clary said and kissed his forehead before looking at Kelsey. "Don't worry I'll keep him safe" Kelsey said and Clary nodded.

"Please" Clary said to Jace. "Clary" Jace said. "Simon let's go" Clary said to Simon.

"Come on" Simon said and left with Clary. "I thought you were dead, there were rumors that" Luke said and Michael interrupted.

"Everybody thought they were true he tried to kill me, but I survived the attack I've been a prisoner ever since I never thought I'd see him again" Michael said.

"How did you survive what he did to you" Michael asked Luke. "Jocelyn pulled me through you were there" Luke said.

"Did he hurt her" Luke asked. "No and he won't we both know that he'll never stop loving Jocelyn even if he wanted to, she'll be safe" Michael said.

"He's awake" Kelsey said referring to Jace. "Jace help is coming" Luke told Jace. "We'll talk later be with your son" Luke said to Michael. "Kelsey" Luke said motioning her to the kitchen and Kelsey left with him.

"Are you sure we can trust him" Kelsey asked Luke watching Michael from afar.

Luke looked to see who she was talking about and saw she meant Michael. "Michael yeah I known him for years" Luke said.

"Why what is it" Luke asked her. "Something just seems off" Kelsey said and looked at Luke. "I can't explain it but I just I have a bad feeling" Kelsey said.

"Okay then we'll be careful alright I'm not letting anything happen to you not on my watch I'm not letting you die" Luke said as Kelsey nodded.

"Why would Valentine tell a prisoner what he was planning to do" Clary asked. "He didn't well not directly but he gave me a way to learn all about his plans" Michael said.

"How do you mean" Jace asked. "He injected me with downworlder blood the pain was excruciating sometimes I was sick for days but it's not often you got a Shadowhunter to experiment on, so I guess that's why he always stopped short of killing me but little by little I developed enhanced hearing and vision" Michael said and told the story of Valentine's plan.

"Who's, Rederick" Clary asked. "It's not a who it's a where it's a deserted smallpox hospital on one of the islands of the East River" Luke said.

"Under our noses is right" Clary said. "And we can't track over water" Kelsey added.

"He left me to die in that cage" Michael said. "Valentine never wasted time on compassion" Luke said.

"He won't get away from me when the time comes" Jace said and got up. "Jace wait" Kelsey said.

"Before it does you need a strategy waiting a day could mean the difference between failure and success" Michael said. "Okay Clary and I will scout Reneick's tonight" Jace said.

"Jace don't" Clary said stopping him. "Your tunes are still weak Luke, and I will go just take this extra time to rest and" Clary said and Jace interrupted.

"I'll be fine Clary" Jace said. "Yeah, Jace hang with me like old times sake" Kelsey said.

"Jace please" Clary said. "Don't let her get you into trouble" Jace said and sat back down.

"Alec I'm fine stop calling" Kelsey said through the phone. "Why haven't you been answering are you upset about the wedding still" Alec asked.

"Why would I be there's nothing to be upset about we were never a thing all we did was kiss right" Kelsey said.

"Mel's don't do that you know I have feelings for you" Alec said.

"Doesn't seem like it" Kelsey said. "Alec just do me a favor okay and get married for you not for anyone or anything else okay you deserve to be happy" Kelsey said and hung up. Kelsey let a tear fall but quickly wiped it away.

"We couldn't even count the demons" Clary said. "Yeah, but we still gotta get Jocelyn out of there" Luke said. "That would be a suicide mission" Jace said.

"Doesn't have to be I have the cup demons have to obey me" Clary said.

"Thats what Valentine wants he knows you'll do anything to save your mother he wants you to take out the cop and use it" Michael said.

"And if I do" Clary asked. "He'll take it and he'll kill us too" Michael said. "Let him try" Clary said. "Alright let's go then" Kelsey said leaving.

"This doesn't make any sense there were a thousand demons here last night" Luke said.

"It has Valentine written all over it" Kelsey said. "That's what he wants, he wants to draw us in force Clary to use the cup" Michael said before they started fighting other Shadowhunters.

"Watch your back" Jace said. "Clary go" Kelsey told her and Clary did as she said. After a few moments the fight was finally over.

"I forgot how much fun this was" Michael said. "Graymark" Blackwell said getting their attention. "Where are your claws" Blackwell asked Luke.

"I don't need special powers to kill you coward" Luke said. "Don't bother with that it only lights up for real Shadowhunters" Blackwell said.

"Find Jocelyn I got this" Luke told Jace, Michael and Kelsey.

"We need to find Clary now" Jace told Michael. "Luke" Kelsey said worried. "Go it's okay I promise I got this" Luke said. Kelsey hesitated but followed Jace and Michael.

Clary turned around once she saw Jace, Michael, and Kelsey rushed in closing the doors behind them.

"Where's Luke" Clary asked. "We left him fighting Blackwell" Jace said. "And trust me I didn't want to but Clary he told us to" Kelsey said.

"No what are you doing get back" Jace said pushing Clary back with Kelsey's help.

"Jace, Kels we cannot shut Luke out he has to make it inside" Clary said. "No Clary there is not enough time" Jace said.

"We have to secure the room we don't even know if Luke is still" Michael said when Clary interrupted. "Alive" Clary said.

"Jace no you have to tell him we cannot shut Luke out he will die for nothing" Clary told Jace.

"I can't wake her up" Clsry said referring to Jocelyn. "Clary listen to me okay listen to me Luke wants you and Jocelyn out of here" Kelsey said.

"Your sister is right that's all he cares about pull yourself together" Michael said.

"Clary if you don't help us no one survives don't understand we will get her home look at me we will find a way to wake her up don't believe me" Jace said. "Get ready" Michael said.

"Clary now we can't wait any longer" Jace said. "If we do, we may as well be live food" Kelsey said. Clary held the cup up high.

"Demons I command you find Valentine" Clary said and the banging continued. Jace and Kelsey got their weapons ready. "Demons find Valentine" Clary said.

"Let me try" Michael said and Clary gave him the cup. He faced the door before facing Clary, Kelsey, and Jace once again.

"Come on" Jace said. "No, no" Jace said as Michael drew blood on his arm. Michael fell to his knees and transformed as Jace, Clary, and Kelsey noticed it was Valentine all this time.

Valentine stood up and held the cup up high. "Valentine" Kelsey said. "Demons attack my enemies" Valentine said.

"I command you" he yelled. "Knock it off guys" Clary said and the demons stopped confusing Valentine.

"You're not the only one who knows how to cast a glamour" Clary told Valentine and revealed the cup. Valentine looked seeing he was holding a mug, and he dropped it breaking it.

"Neat trick she got don't you think" Kelsey said. "Should we let the demons take care of this or" Clary asked.

"No send them away he's mine" Jace said. "Demons be gone" Clary said and the demons left. "Kelsey my sweet" Valentine said looking at Kelsey.

"Don't you take one step near her" Jace told Valentine and Valentine looked at Jace.

"You pretended to be my father" Jace said. "I wasn't pretending Jace" Valentine said. "You murdered him you're a liar" Jace said and held his sword to Valentine's throat.

"I am your father I always have been the face that you saw as Michael Wayland was mine then and now it was a powerful glamour I want you to know me as I am to know the truth about me and you" Valentine said.

"Jace, Jace don't listen to him he's my father and Kelsey's we know that for a fact" Clary said.

"Yes, that's true that's a fact I am your father Clary and Kelsey's" Valentine said and looked at Jace.

"And Jace's think about it why are the two of you so drawn together you are meant to be blood calls to blood no" Valentine and pushed Jace's sword off.

And when it looked like he was going after Kelsey, Clary got in front of her.

Valentine then walked to a mirror and opened a portal.

"My dear family together at last a lost mother found a brother and a sister finally reunited" Valentine said and Jace yelled going to Valentine putting his sword at his throat.

"You won't kill me, you won't kill me I said that you were weak, and I meant it what's wrong Jace can't kill the man who raised you hmm" Valentine said.

"Maybe he can't but I can" Kelsey said going to Valentine when Valentine turned Jace around holding a sword to his throat causing Kelsey to stop.

"Go ahead Kelsey two for two we can't even fight back huh no" Valentine said as Clary moved to Kelsey making sure to be in front of her in case Valentine tried again.

"Come with me son you know that you love me Kelsey you too sweetheart I'm your dad after all we have so much fun together your sister is welcome to join us" Valentine said.

"My dad is Magnus Bane not you" Kelsey said. "And bring your mother along we can find a way to get her moving again" Valentine said to Clary and let go of Jace.

He went through the portal, and it closed as Luke walked in. He saw Jocelyn and went to her.

"Jocelyn" Luke said to her. "I'm taking you home" Luke said.

"Clary gave Lydia the cup Hodge is taking her to lock it up until she goes back to Idris" Jace told Alec. "Okay" Alec said. "Okay that's it, Alec" Jace asked.

"Jace please not today" Kelsey said. "I don't want to get into it" Alec said going to leave when Jace stopped him.

"Stop" Jace said and moved closer to him. "I do wanna get into it you almost killed me you weakened our parabatai bond just to find me" Jace said.

"You betrayed me you lied to me you attacked me when I was doing what we should've been doing together" Alec said.

"I didn't betray you Alec, I saved you from yourself if you'd have taken Meliorn to be tortured you would have that on your conscience for the rest of your life" Jace said.

"Really" Alec said. "Really" Jace said. "Everything you do is for a higher principle you took the cup, and you nearly handed it to Valentine he almost took Kelsey" Alec said.

"That was not our intention you know that" Jace said. "Our intention was it your intention to risk Izzy's life for hers" Alec asked.

"Wait what" Kelsey said hearing this for the first time.

"Why didn't you tell me Izzy was in trouble both of you" Kelsey asked Jace and Alec.

Alec looked at Kelsey knowing that if she knew she wouldn't have wasted a second to help Izzy as she would've stormed in that room doing everything in her power to help Izzy.

I told Jace to pass the message, and he said he would" Alec said.

"This isn't about Clary this is about you, now I'm gonna go tell my sister that she still has a future" Alec said.

"Kels you care to come with" Alec asked. "I'm sure you're starving we can get food after we talk to Izzy" Alec said leaving and Kelsey followed Alec.
