"Any word from the clave" Izzy asked. "Not yet and we've been trying for the past four hours something's up" Lydia said.

"Mm the clave being unhelpful who's shocked show of hands" Magnus said. "Not the time dad" Kelsey said. "I'm worried I can't sense Jace through our parabatai bond" Alec said.

"Don't worry Alec, we'll find him" Kelsey told Alec. "When we arrested Hodge, he said Valentine was on a ship they must still be over water" Izzy said.

"Pull up the waterways around New York" Izzy said and Kelsey did. "The ship couldn't have gone too far" Izzy said.

"Dad please tell me you have something" Kelsey said to Magnus. "Sorry munchkin" Magnus said.

"There's got to be something" Alec said. "I don't see him" Magnus said.

"Alright listen up I want 24/7 monitoring of the Hudson and East rivers if you see anything unusual you come to me first" Alec said.

"Hmm hot" Kelsey said and Izzy fake gagged as Kelsey glared at her. "I've got this Alec" Lydia said. "Then why haven't you found Jace yet" Alec asked.

"Don't forget who you're talking to I am still the head of this institute" Lydia said. "And my brother is still missing" Alec said and Izzy went to Alec.

"Why don't you just take a break" Izzy said. "Not now Izzy" Alec said.

"Isabella's right and it's not a request you're dismissed" Lydia said. "Fine" Alec said, and Kelsey sighed. "Everybody just back off" Alec said and left.

"Thought I'd find you up here" Kelsey said making her way to Alec.

"The view is beautiful" Kelsey said. "I know you're worried I am too and while I may never understand considering I'll never be able to have a parabatai" Kelsey said causing Alec to look at her.

"What do you mean all Shadowhunters are able to have a parabatai" Alec said.

"Not me I'm the exception" Kelsey said confusing Alec.

"Look don't worry about it right now we can talk about it another day right now all I care about is you" Kelsey said.

"You always care about me even when Jace was here and before a Mary you were always more concerned about me than yourself" Alec said.

"Yeah, well guilty" Kelsey said. "Look Alec we will find Jace okay we will I been spending most of my nights trying to sniff him out, but everyone is doing the best they can" Kelsey said.

"Kels I know he's out there" Alec said taking ahold of her hands. "And he's in trouble and there's not a darn thing I can do about it okay nothing" Alec said and Kelsey sighed.

"Is there anything I can do" Kelsey asked. "Get your dad to help me track Jace I want to use my rune I just need his magic for the pain" Alec said.

"Alec, you can't ask me to do that" Kelsey said. "Why not" Alec asked.

"Why because you nearly died last time that's why I may not have been there but believe me I know people talk" Kelsey said. "Kels please just please do this for me" Alec said.

"Alec" Kelsey said. "Please" Alec said, and Kelsey got a text. "Something's happening we gotta get back to the ops center" Kelsey said.

Alec led Kelsey down while still having a hold of one of her hands.

"We are at war Valentine now has the mortal cup" Maryse said, and Kelsey saw Clary make her way over to Izzy.

"With which no doubt raising a new army and one of our own has joined him" Maryse said.

"Looks like the queen's taking back her kingdom" Izzy said.

"As a result, the clave has declared a state of emergency at the institute their first priority is to replace the current leadership who they have deemed wholly ineffectualit is an honor to introduce the newly appointed head of New York institute clave representative Victor Aidertree" Maryse said and moved as Victor took her place.

"Well, this is new" Kelsey said. "Did you know about this" Alec asked Izzy.

"No but maybe this is why dad went back to Idris" Izzy said. "Maryse went behind my back" Lydia said.

"My fellow Shadowhunters it's an honor to be here with you all we have to find Jace Wayland he's a shadowhunter and we don't leave our people behind the answer is his location may very well lie in this room so I wanna speak with everyone who went on a mission where Jace disappeared one last thing effective immediately the institute is on lockdown but it's only temporary let's turn this institute around" Victor said and left.

"Wait if we're on lockdown who's out there looking for Jace" Clary asked.

"I guess no one" Kelsey said. "We'll think of something don't worry Jace is tough Valentine will never break him" Izzy told Clary.

"There you are" Alec said once he found Kelsey. "Did your dad leave" Alec asked.

"He just left" Kelsey said and Alec nodded. "Kels about earlier I'm sorry I know you do anything for me I do, and I do anything for you, but I never should've asked you that" Alec said.

"It's okay" Kelsey said. "No, it's not and I'm going to make it up to you" Alec said. "On our date" Alec added and Kelsey smiled.

Suddenly the alarm went off and Kelsey and Alec headed back to the ops center.

"Who sounded the alarm" Alec asked. "What's going on" Izzy asked as she and Clary made their way over. "Oh no" Clary said.

"Jace" Clary said once she saw a projection of him. "Aldertree said he wanted to rescue Jace" Clary said.

"Actually, Clary I said I wanted to find him and you gave me the clue I needed to do just that" Victor said. "What did you tell him" Alec asked Clary.

"Alec" Clary started to say when Victor interrupted. "Is this everyone" he asked.

"Fantastic first up all downworlders are forbidden from entering the institute without my prior approval" Victor said before looking at Kelsey.

"Except you my dear I hear your half downworlder and half shadowhunter a miracle or a abomination as some may say I don't I think you'll the greatest weapon the world has ever seen" Victor said and Alec pulled Kelsey closer to him.

"For those still present good day" Victor said. "Mr. Graymark" Victor said looking at Luke. "I'm not leaving Jocelyn" Luke said looking at Jocelyn.

"Besides my badge gives access to resources that you don't have I can help you find Jace" Luke said. "That's generous of you but I'm going to have to insist" Victor said.

"Are you kidding me" Kelsey mumbled. "Call me when you can" Luke told Jocelyn.

"Yeah" Jocelyn said, and Luke walked away heading to leave.

"You too Simon, Simon right" Victor said to Simon causing Luke to stop. "It's almost dawn I don't have anywhere to go" Simon said.

"Hey, you're a smart guy I'm sure you'll figure something out" Victor said as Kelsey shook her head annoyed.

"Simon come on" Luke said. "I'll be okay" Simon whispered to Clary and left with Luke.

"Now let's get to it I've reviewed your statements along with the reports of your unsanctioned missions and I can come to no other conclusion that Jace Wayland is a traitor to the Clave" Victor said.

"Jace is not a traitor" Alec said. "Point of fact Clary said Jace called to warn you about Valentine's trap which got me thinking" Victor told Alec.

"Jace had multiple chances to kill Valentine but chose to let him leave now Valentine, Jace, and the cup are missing do the math" Victor said.

"Is this a joke cause believe me if it is I'm not laughing" Kelsey said. "Kels" Alec said, and Kelsey looked at him before sighing and stayed silent.

"There is no way we're going to help you hunt Jace" Clary said.

"And I'd never ask you to you, your sister, and your friends are prohibited from any further involvement for the hunt for Jace Wayland" Victor told Clary. "What" Izzy said.

"The rest of you back to work I'm lifting the lockdown on the institute except for Clary and Jocelyn given your relationship to Valentine and Jace I want to keep a close eye on you" Victor said.

"Wow wait what about me Valentine is my biological dad too shouldn't you put me on lockdown" Kelsey asked.

"Putting the greatest weapon, we have on lockdown that'd be stupid don't you think besides you seem like a smart girl and I'm sure you wouldn't want to go back to those tests right" Victor said and Kelsey held back tears.

"Please no not again please" Kelsey said. "Then do as I say" Victor said and walked away. "This is ridiculous" Clary said.

"Clary" Jocelyn said. "No, we cannot just sit around okay they're going to kill Jace he's your son" Clary told Jocelyn.

"I know you think you understand this world, but you don't" Jocelyn told Clary.

"Dismissed" Victor said and Alec went to Victor. "You can't do this" Alec said. "See that's the thing about being the boss I can, and I did" Victor said.

"Then revoke the dead or alive order Jace is one of us" Izzy said.

"Challenging the authority of the head of the institute is grounds for severe punishment including de rune-ing" Victor said and left.

"Alec are you sure this is a good idea Alec" Kelsey said. "Kels please I can't sit there and do nothing" Alec said.

"And I rather you go with me I don't trust that guy not after what he said to you" Alec said.

"Okay" Kelsey said. "I promise you're safe with me" Alec said.

"I know I mean you're the safest place I can be always have been" Kelsey said and Alec smiled and kissed her cheek.

"As much as I hate it my dad will help as long as I ask, I am his little girl" Kelsey said. "Thank you" Alec said and Kelsey nodded.

"Thanks for your help dad" Kelsey told Magnus as sat in front of Alec.

"Of course, munchkin" Magnus said to Kelsey. "Alright Alec ready to track your parabatai" Magnus asked and Alec nodded.

Magnus then used his magic on Alec as Alec went to use his stele but stopped.

"Alec what happened" Kelsey asked after a moment seeing his facial expression.

"Did it start" Magnus asked. "I don't need to" Alec said as he got up and Magnus stopped his magic. "I sense him he's on land" Alec said.

"Jace is back call off your men" Alec told Victor as he made his way to him with Kelsey and Izzy.

"Izzy, Kelsey, and I will bring him back alive" Alec said. "One step ahead of you we got a hit on the map we're mobilizing now" Victor said.

"You're not listening" Kelsey said. "Go ahead and de rune me we won't let you do this" Izzy said. "I rather do those tests again then let you do this" Kelsey said.

"Hold them here till we get back" Victor told the Shadowhunters as they grabbed ahold of Alec, Izzy, and Kelsey.

"Make sure to hold Kelsey tight she has werewolf strength" Valentine said as the Shadowhunter tightened their hold on Kelsey.

"I'm sorry I'll do what I can to help Jace" Lydia said and left with Victor.
