Rigel and Lenna have been traveling the roads for a few days. "Man, everything is so desolate out here. Nothin' but hills and fields as far as the eye can see." Rigel complained.
"Here, let me use my white magic spell, sight, and then I can see a map of Valnerias." Lenna suggested.
"Wow, you can really do that?"
"Of course. There's a lot you can do with white magic. Now please let me concentrate."
Lenna began casting the spell. After the spell was cast, a map appeared in front of them.
"Alright, now lets get a look at our bearings, and see where we are." Lenna said.
They studied the map for a while, until Rigel noticed something.
"Aha! There, the closest sign of civilization is, The Dorgan School of Magic."
"I suppose we should head there. Since it is a magic school, maybe they know something about the Amulet of
Sojor." Lenna stated.
"Ugh, more magic, I'm no good with magic." Rigel whined.
"Well maybe you can learn a thing or two about it. It could make you even stronger."
"Now that's a good idea. Let's get over there already!" Rigel said in excitement, ready to get stronger.
With that, they began travelling to the School of Magic.
The scenery they passed was magnificent. Beautiful rolling hills, meadows and fields filled with flowers, such as sunflowers and daisies. And the bright blue sky made it even better.
"So Lenna, how can learning magic make me any stronger? I mean I'm not a Mage like you, I'm a Warrior." Rigel asked.
"Well Rigel, since your a sword user, you can add magic effects to your blade, such as fire, water, lighting, and many other elements. Those are known as spellsword abilities. I'd be very impressed if you were to master some." Lenna explained.
"Wow, sounds great! I'll do my best." Rigel responded.
The thought of impressing her, excited him even more. "It would be nice to impress her. I don't think I've ever done that before." Rigel thought to himself.
As they continued on their way, a man approached them. He was clad in dark black and purple armor, no part of his body was visible to the human eye. "He must be a high ranking Royal Knight!" Rigel realized.
"Umm Rigel, I'm a little scared by this man." Lenna yelped.
"You two. I've been looking for you. I have direct orders to kill you on sight." The mysterious Knight stated.
"What? Why? Who ordered you to do this?!" Rigel demanded.
Asking that was futile, as the Knight immediately slashed down his sword towards Rigel. Fortunately he jumped out of the way before it cut him in half. "Alright, if it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get." Rigel said.
He immediately jumped up and thrusted his sword into his chest. The blade had no effect on the armor.
"This armor is alot tougher than I thought." Rigel said.
He continued to slash at him, but to no avail.
The mysterious Knight then counter attacked Rigels slash, and cut him across the arm.
"Ahhhh!" Rigel cried out I pain.
"Lenna! I need some assistance!" Rigel proclaimed.
"I'm getting a cure spell ready." She answered.
But as she was casting the spell the Knight pushed her down, cancelling the effects of the spell.
"Oh no! I put the last of my Magic Power into that spell! Now I'm out of MP!" Lenna shouted.
The Knight approached Rigel, who was on the ground. "Any last words?" He asked.
"Just one," Rigel replied, "Look out!"
"What?" The Knight said.
Suddenly Rigel threw his sword, hilt first, into the Knights helmet. Knocking him down, and knocking his helmet off his head.
Rigel got up, and looked at the Knight.
"Huh? Kaito? Is that really you?"
Kaito, Rigel's brohter, was underneath that suit of armor. Rigel felt betrayed. His own brother trying to kill him? The thought never occurred to him. Sure Kaito was always mean to him, and always got frustrated with him, but he never thought Kaito would try to kill him.
"What did they do to you bro? This isn't like you." Rigel asked.
Kaito looked at him, and ran off.
Rigel turned to Lenna and asked, "What did the Royal Guard do to my brother?"
