The School of Mages
Rigel stood there, saddened by the fact that his brother tried to kill him, and Lenna. Lenna came up to Rigel, and hugged him. "We'll find a way to get Kaito back to normal. I'll be here to help you." Lenna assured him.
"We definitely will. And thanks Lenna, I'm glad I can count on you." Rigel said. She smiled. "Well of course. I wouldn't let you do both of these tasks by yourself." Lenna told him.
"Alright. Now lets get to that School of Magic." Rigel stated.
They started on their way to the Dorgan School of Magic. It wasn't to far away from where they were, so it didn't take them too long to get there.
Rigel walked up to the door.
"Hey! Let me in!" He shouted as he began beating on the door.
A man approached the other side and opened it.
"Alright cut that out! What buisness do you have here?!" The man demanded.
"Well sir, my friend here would like to learn some spellsword abilities." Lenna stated.
"Ah, here for learning are you? Well come inside then." The man said as he let them in.
"Wow, it's so huge. So many books." Rigel said in amazement.
"Yes, we need many books here, so that every mage in this school can learn the magic they need to know." The man said.
"So how is Rigel going to learn what he wants to know?" Lenna asked.
"Well I'll show you. Gorby, get over here!" The man said.
"Yes master Dorgan? What do you need?" Gorby asked as he approached them.
"Teach this boy how to learn spellsword magic. I have business to take care if elsewhere." Dorgan ordered.
"Alrighty, please step forward sir. And we'll begin the lesson."
Rigel stepped forward.
"I'm cheering you on Rigel!" Lenna told him.
"Ok so first things first, we'll start you out with fire magic to begin with. So take this spell tome, it'll teach you basic fire magic, and then I'll show you how to channel it through your blade." Gorby explained as he handed the tome to Rigel, and grabbed a wooden sword.
Rigel skimmed through it.
"Alright done." Rigel said.
"Great. Now grab your sword, and start thinking warm thoughts. Things like lava, the sun, a mother's hug, or anything like that." Gorby said.
Rigel began thinking about when Lenna hugged him earlier, the thought brought a grin to his face.
"Good. Now you should be able to simply cast the fire spell on your blade like this." Gorby then had fire in his hands, but it made it's way to his blade. His wooden sword was now on fire. "See. Now you try." Gorby said.
Rigel could now feel fire begin forming in his hands. It eventually made it's way to the blade of his sword. "I did it!" Rigel shouted excitedly. "Great work Rigel!" Lenna shouted congratulating him.
"Nice job. And when you do this, the fire won't damage the sword in anyway, as you can see by how my wooden sword hasn't burnt to a crisp. Also I must tell you, that you can do this with any other elemental spell. Like blizzard, thunder, and water. And you only cast the basic fire spell. There are upgraded versions of each spell. For fire spells there is, fire, fira, firaga, and firaja." Gorby explained.
"Ugh, my head hurts, there's so much to learn." Rigel complained.
"Well, how about we spend the night then?" Lenna suggested. "How about it Gorby, will that work?"
"I'm sure Grand Master Dorgan will be fine with it. I'll prepare a room for the two of you." Gorby replied.
"I should get to studying. There's alot to learn." Rigel said.
"Alright. I'm going to look around, I'll join you soon." Lenna replied as Rigel sat down at a table.
Lenna started walking through a few hallways, and passed many rooms.
As she passed a room, she heard someone talking.
"Ugh! I failed another test? How will I ever become a successful black mage now?" A woman whined.
Lenna walked into the room and asked, "Excuse me, but what seems to be the trouble?"
"Well, I failed another spell test. And I need to start passing or else I'll never become a black mage." The lady said.
"Well let me try and help." Lenna offered.
"Really? Thank you! Oh, the names Gina by the way. What's yours?" Gina asked.
"I'm Lenna. Ok, now show me what spell you did on your last test." Lenna said.
Gina then tried to cast a thunder spell, but only sparks flickered out of the palms of her hands. "See? It's not working." Gina whined.
"Alright, it'll be a while, but I'll do my best to help you. I'm a white mage myself, but I can help." Lenna said.
So Lenna worked with tutoring Gina for a while, and eventually she learned to cast thunder.
"Here I go!" Gina shouted, as lighting bolts shot out of her hands.
"Nice! You did it Gina!" Lenna congratulated.
"Thanks Lenna, now I can pass the next test for sure." Gina thanked her.
"Just keep in mind that you need to use the same method of casting for each different spell." Lenna said as she started leaving the room.
"Good luck on your test Gina!" Lenna told her, as she walked out.
"Ok enough of that, I need to get back to Rigel now." Lenna told herself.
